What does it really mean to be a strong woman?
Episode #1019 Ever feel like your wife has built a wall between you? Maybe she's more critical, distant, or just not as open as she used to be. In this episode, we unpack why some women “harden” over time, what signs to look for before it gets that far, and most importantly how you can help shift the dynamic. We'll break down the common mistakes men make (often without realizing it), how carrying the mental load impacts your relationship, and why simply suggesting solutions isn't enough you need to lead with action. You'll hear practical ways to create emotional safety, take pressure off her plate, and rebuild trust so she can soften and open up again. Whether your marriage feels stuck or you just want to keep it strong, this conversation is about real, actionable steps you can start using today. If you want to go deeper and learn exactly how to turn things around in your marriage without endless talks or counseling, get your free training here: https://fixmarriage.thepowerfulman.com/scales

Ozzy Osbourne, along with his bandmates in Black Sabbath, invented heavy metal, and throughout Ozzy's post-Sabbath solo career he would invent new, self-destructive forms of sabotage. Arrested at an early age for breaking and entering, Ozzy Osbourne refused to conform to societal norms and common decency. He would go on to be arrested numerous times and escape too many near-death experiences to recount, including a plane crashing into his tour bus that would ultimately kill a dear friend and bandmate. What does it take to be a successful athlete when you have a voice inside of your head telling you that you are not good enough?Dawn first met Steffie at a talk she was doing up in Buckie, Scotland. She didn't know it, but Steffie had already read her book and turned up to learn more. At that stage she was Scotland Strongest woman, but wasn't able to enjoy her success because she was still just surviving. In this episode they talk about what it took to reach out to Dawn and what difference it made to her strongwoman journey to work with a therapist. They also explore the concept of performance coaching in sports and why Strongwoman doesn't get the same coverage as the men's competitions. Steffie is a competitive strongwoman from Buckie, Scotland, and is the reigning Scottish and British Champion. A survivor of rape, bullying, and severe depression, she found purpose and power through strength sports — and hasn't looked back since. Since starting in 2019, Steffie has built a reputation for raw grit and honesty, both on the platform and off. She speaks openly about mental health and trauma, breaking stigma and showing that real strength goes far beyond what you can lift. What does a strong woman of God look like? Defined muscles? Able to wrangle 7 kids, a job, and yard work all at the same time? Sometimes we think so. If you believe the pictures and posts of some influencers on social media, you'd believe that all women of God are readily filtered, photo-shopped, and exaggerated. You'd come to believe that a strong Godly woman is someone whose hair is perfect, and never turns gray. You'd think she was a woman who defied stretch marks, miraculously can't gain a pound, and who never misses an opportunity to serve all the men at church, while never saying no to watching all the kids, and does all this with a smile on her face. But does that actually make a woman a strong woman of God? In this episode of The Woman Inspired Podcast we're talking about just one of the many real examples from the Bible of what a truly strong woman of God looks like…Miriam. It was 2017 and President Donald Trump had just arrived in the Oval Office. The Women's March took to the streets of D.C. proclaiming a message of “strength,” but Sarah Stonestreet did not see empowerment, but anger. “The overarching message was [a] middle finger to the chauvinistic world,” Stonestreet says of the marchers, adding that the underlying theme appeared to be “pursue your own happiness, no matter the casualties.” With three daughters of her own, Stonestreet did not want the Women's March to be telling her daughters, or women across America for that matter, what it means to be a strong woman, so she took action and launched a podcast to speak truth into the lives of girls and women. Now, every week, on the “Strong Women” podcast Sarah sits down with women like Joni Eareckson Tada, Kori Robertson, and Katy Faust to ask them to share their stories of overcoming hardship to daily live out what it means to be a woman clothed in strength. Stonestreet joins the “Problematic Women” podcast to answer the question, what is a strong woman? And What does the Bible say about what it means to be a woman of integrity and courage?Enjoy the show! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
