Join Robert and Ira as they discuss, THE GOOD SON and WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN, and share their top 5 fucked-up families. Listen for free through iTunes, Stitcher, Spotify, iHeartRadio, or Google Podcast Music. So, if you've ever wondered what it would be like to be a married woman with a son who just happens to be a fucking psychopath with no empathy and no moral compass and he's a fucking evil son of a bitch and he torments his little sister, kills animals, and gets off on hurting and killing people, and since you're this evil monster's mother, you're at your wits end and you hate to admit it but your kid is no good and the world is better off if he falls off a cliff or ends up in jail, then this podcast is for you!
In this unlocked episode of Mama Needs a Movie's Patreon spinoff podcast, ATTENTION MUST BE PAID (patreon.com/MNAM), Anne and Ryan look back at Lynne Ramsay's MORVERN CALLAR, a 2002 Scottish drama anchored by a haunting performance from Samantha Morton that is worthy of far more attention. Traumatized by the suicide of her novelist boyfriend on Christmas morning, Morvern Callar (Morton), submits his last manuscript as her own, then sets out on a trip to Spain with her best friend Lana (Kathleen McDermont). Following Ramsay's acclaimed debut feature, RATCATCHER, and preceding her more widely-recognized WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN and YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE, MORVERN CALLAR is at turns moving, meditative, unsettling, and essential to understanding Ramsay's one-of-a-kind directorial approach. MORVERN CALLAR is available to stream for free on Kanopy or Freevee (with ads), or with subscription to The Criterion Channel or Prime Video.

Volles Haus, viele Themen: Die DRIVE-AWAY DOLLS düsen ins WUNDERLAND - VOM KINDHEITSTRAUM ZUM WELTERFOLG, während DER DRITTE GAST zuhause bleiben muss. Derweil sind sich THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS und die ANTIGANG einig: WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN. That's Kinoplus. Adieu. Rocket Beans wird unterstützt von Radio Bob!

Hot takes incoming! David and Devin begin this month's discussion with John Carpenter's Stephen King adaptation CHRISTINE (1983). Classic nerd Arnie Cunningham has a killer new car - emphasis on “killer.” But when the self-driving self-healing automobile goes on a murderous rampage, and Arnie changes into a real jerk, are we sure it's all Christine's responsibility? Or has our geeky hero been hiding a darkness, a darkness which he is now embracing as he reaches maturity? Then, we'll switch gears and decades to Lynn Ramsay's disturbing psychological character study WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN (2011), starring Tilda Swinton and John C. Reilly. Eva has raised a monster: her teenage son Kevin has murdered his classmates with a bow and arrow, and in the aftermath she recollects on his childhood. Was he always like this, or did she fail him as a mother? What motivated Kevin to shoot up his school? Can we even know? 0:06:20 - Christine 0:33:32 - We Need to Talk About Kevin 1:04:11 - Comparisons 1:26:01 - Bone Reviews Follow us at: instagram.com/cadaverdogspod twitter.com/cadaverdogspod facebook.com/cadaverdogspod . “John Carpenter vs Stephen King's CHRISTINE - The American Graffiti of Horror,” by Matt Draper youtu.be/aCZ7cjiqprk “BookReview: We Need to Talk About Kevin - Contemporary Psychotherapy,” by Lynda Woodroffe contemporarypsychotherapy.org/volume-11-issue-1-summer-2019/bookreview-we-need-to-talk-about-kevin/ . HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! Ben & Rob decide to spread the parental cheers by taking aim at 2011's “We Need To Talk About Kevin”, starring Tilda Swinton, John C Reilly and Ezra Miller as a family trying their best to manage the son's violently awful mental health. What better way to celebrate Mother's Day UK than to analyse exactly how bad it must be out there for a woman whose son is Ezra Miller. God we hate Ezra Miller. What exactly is the father's role in enabling this parental torture of an innocent woman? Is she actually innocent in this whole situation? Is this in fact a documentary about Ezra Miller as a child? Is he really all that bad? Yes, yes he is. Fuck that guy. CONSUUUME!Find us on your socials of choice at www.linktr.ee/everymovieeverpodcast

Some cream of the network TV crop here, with the new Fox show Accused (available on Hulu). Michael Chiklis! Jill Henessey! Robert Wisdom! The Homeland team (Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa, Michael Cuesta)! With this collection of talent in front of and behind the camera, it stands to reason that Accused is going to be better than the average network TV crime procedural. This may also explain its surprisingly massive ratings success. If you are not in the mood for a bigger commitment like a serialized series or a film, this is a great appetizer-sized commitment with stand-alone anthology episodes. The first episode goes pretty bold with how it integrates Chiklis' character with a We Need To Talk About Kevin kind of son.Come to Watch This Tonight as your best podcast for TV recommendations. Part 2 Insane. Disturbed. Wanted. Fugitive. Cult Leader. While these words could be used to describe Acomi and Turk182, they're being used to describe the multifaceted human being known as Ezra Miller. Known as the very talented star of indie movies like We Need To Talk About Kevin, Afterschool, and The Perks of Being A Wallflower, they/he has gone the wrong way around the sun and is completely nucking futs. Punching people in stores, disrupting karaoke, kidnapping children... Ezra is definitely going after Acomi's Guinness Book award. Wanted by the police is multiple states for various crimes, EM was on the run and in hiding. Having recently turned himself in, the big question on everyone's mind is... "What about The Flash movie?!" The much talked about and expected movie, rumored to bring balance to the DCEU - DC (comics) Extended Universe - like Anakin Skywalker did the force, and set the course for future films. Is the movie in jeopardy due to EM's wacky antics? Or, is Warner Brothers using their muscle to smooth things out with EM and the cops to keep the film alive? And, what's the deal with EM and why did he go wicky in the wacky woo? Mothers and Others: The Evolutionary Origins of Mutual Understanding by Sarah Hardy, 2011 《包法利夫人》[法] 福楼拜 《我的奋斗》[挪威]卡尔·奥韦·克瑙斯高 影视剧 《暗处的女儿》(The Lost Daughter, 2021),改编自费兰特的同名小说,导演玛吉·吉伦哈尔 《疼痛难免》(This Is Going to Hurt, 2022),改编自亚当·凯的同名小说 《虚构安娜》(Inventing Anna, 2022),导演大卫·弗兰科尔 《女人的碎片》(Pieces of a Woman, 2020),导演凯内尔·穆德卢佐 《凯文怎么了》(We Need To Talk About Kevin, 2011),改编自莱昂内尔·施赖弗的同名小说,导演琳恩·拉姆塞 【出品人】蔡欣 【主理人】猫弟 【节目编辑】何润哲 桑瑜 【后期制作】AURA.pote 【视觉设计】孙晓曦 陈景婧

In this episode of the Matt Watch That Podcast, host Matt Seroski talks about the holidays and reviews the psychological thriller We Need To Talk About Kevin (2011).
Novelist Lionel Shriver is known for placing social topics (sometimes radioactive ones) inside the frame of fiction. Her 2003 novel, We Need To Talk About Kevin, which won the Orange Prize for Fiction and was made into a 2011 film starring Tilda Swinton, was told from the perspective of a mother whose son commits a school shooting akin to the Columbine massacre. Lionel's thirteen other novels take on such subjects as obesity, the US healthcare system, the national debt, global overpopulation, and homegrown terrorism. Her new novel, Should We Stay Or Should We Go, is about suicide, specifically the pros and cons of ending your life on your own terms before nature-or modern medicine-prolongs it in ghastly fashion. Lionel spoke with Meghan about her new book and also her feelings about illness, medicine and her own death. As an American who's lived in the UK for several decades and still lives in New York part time, Lionel also offers her thoughts about single payer health care and what the venerated National Health Service does right as well as often gets wrong. Guest Bio: Lionel Shriver's fiction includes The Mandibles, Property, So Much for That, the New York Times bestseller The Post-Birthday World, and the international bestseller We Need to Talk About Kevin. Her journalism has appeared in The Guardian, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Harper's, and the London Times, and she currently writes a regular column for The Spectator in the UK. She lives in London and Brooklyn, NY.
Lionel Shriver is perhaps best known for her blockbuster novel (and its subsequent film) WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN. In this episode, she talks with NYT bestselling author Jenna Blum about her latest book, THE MOTION OF THE BODY THROUGH SPACE, in which she tackles big issues like aging, marriage, and what Lionel calls the "cult of fitness." Hosted by Trisha Blanchet.

Siblo and Whalen continue Lynne Ramsay month with a discussion of perhaps her most widely admired film, 2007's troubling and hypnotic We Need To Talk About Kevin (33:45). But first, as an aggressively dumb palate cleanser, your Carpeteers subject themselves to the easy-ridin' mid-life-crisis road comedy Wild Hogs in a new segment with a self-explanatory title: Bad or Rad? (4:20).
In episode twenty-nine of movies imo., Ben, Brandon, and Daniel yell over each other about Lynne Ramsay, Queen of Scots's blunt force thriller YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE before pummeling themselves with her previous three features WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN, MORVERN CALLAR, and RATCATCHER. Ben wonders whether we should discuss her latest film in conversation with the Safdies's GOOD TIME, Daniel turns out to be the missing child from the RATCATCHER council estate, and Brandon brings the hammer in stanning Ezra Miller.
