During my early Christian years, I (trig) was blessed to bump into The Cross Movement by way of my brother-in-law, O-Diggity, subsequently enjoying watching them finish Heaven's Mentality and then getting engrossed in the Philadelphia and East-Coast CHH scene which included the early days of folks such as D.A. Truth, Everyday Process, Swift (formerly known as R-Swift), B.E.R.I.D.O.X., Judah Priest, Japhia Life, Carriers of the Cross, Corey Red and Precise, and many more. The Gospel Gangstaz is the first West Coast-based group that I (Trig) heard. They made an impression from the very song that caught my ear. During this interview, they share how they got started, their perspective on ministry, their love for sharing Christ with young men and women, the power of the relationships across the CHH Pioneers. In this interview, Norman and Japhia have their first interview conversation where we get an introduction to who Japhia Life, the Artist, is. Take some time to relax and listen to this introspective interview of one of Hip Hop's most thorough representatives, especially because he reps Yeshua (Jesus).   Sit down with Norman and Japhia as they get into what developed Japhia into who he is today.  Japhia Life is an American Rapper from what Hip Hop heads nicknamed "illadelph" or "illadelphia". Japhia Life is a Philadelphia born and bred recording artist whose music is reflective of golden era Hip Hop, while simultaneously having a very modern and progressive approach. He grew up with both of his parents: a rare sight in the African-American ghetto where he grew up.  His music has received positive reviews from various entertainment publications and industry tastemakers alike. Play of legendary Hip Hop group 'Kid n Play' says, "Japhia is the guy that's next up as far as Hip Hop is concerned."  Salt of legendary Hip Hop group 'Salt n Pepa' says, "Japhia Life is a breath of fresh air, with a very new perspective."  He understands that being the first Hip Hop artist from West Philadelphia to receive critical acclaim since Will Smith (aka Fresh Prince) gives him big shoes to fill. However, he isn’t as concerned with that as much as he is with simply representing his city well. His first and second retail releases ‘Pages of Life’ and ‘Hell’s Diary: The Healing LP’ were both certified as a underground hip hop classics. While ‘Pages of Life’ was released on tape, cd, and vinyl on the LA based boutique hip hop label ReadyRock Records, and was produced in its entirety by Philly super producer Jude ‘Tha Architect’ Gavin, his second project ‘Hell’s Diary’ was released independently through Japhia’s first label imprint that he founded, Arms Out Entertainment.  His third retail release ‘Fountain of Life’ came out on the Nashville, Tennessee based record label Beatmart Recordings, and was distributed by Sony/BMG and Provident/Integrity.
