Music has helped me through difficult situations because… it lets me get through them…if you're going through hell why stop there?" Fabolous Throughout history, music has been a timeless aspect of society that connects people and has the ability to document the times through lyrics and style. Hip Hop has always connected with sports on another level as a form of expression and often celebration of athletes. On this episode of The Pivot, in partnership with Fanatics, Ryan, Channing and Fred chop it up with one of the most respected and iconic rappers from the early 2000s – Fabolous. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Fab reminisces about releasing his first album in 2001, and the motivation behind creating the chart topping record. To put it in perspective on how it resonated, Fab shares a story on how he saw Tom Brady this past summer and first thing Brady referred to him as is one of the original 01' boys, reiterating what Fab's music represented during that era and Fred recalls the one line that was even about him during that time. While Fab may be underrated to some, the guys double down on why he's one of the most respected artists of all time in hip hop and for the culture. Fab's got six albums and over three million records sold in the U.S., but it's not just the numbers that tell his story, it's his experiences that have truly shaped him. Relying on OG's in the rap game, Fab always was looking to learn and take chances to get where he wanted to go. He shares some words of wisdom with the guys reflecting on his journey, talking about the rap game then vs. now, what he's learned about himself as an artist and more importantly as a man and describes how a generational shift in hip hop is shaping today's music scene differently. Fab talks about how the intersection of music and sports goes hand in hand and inspired his creativity and lyrics. He breaks down Knicks vs. Nets, plus legends like Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson, and Muhammad Ali—icons who shaped his take on sports and celebrity and shares a story about his son with Steph Curry which is a lesson on opportunity and making most of every chance, an approach he lives by and credits to his music career taking off. With music being a whole different vibe in the early 2000's vs today's social media-driven world, Fab opens up about how music helped him overcome tough situations and rise above negativity while discussing how accessibility influences sustainability, especially in a competitive space. Tap in now for a conversation that starts with music and weaves in and out of 25+ years of stories, experiences and keys to getting to the top and staying there from a legend. Will God answer your prayer if you don't end with, "In Jesus' name, Amen?" Learn what praying in the name of Jesus really means. I taught this week on the call of Abraham and the development of God's missionary call through the nation of Israel as they were responsible to communicate the truth of God to the cultures around them. They were given that great commission. The great commission didn't start in Matthew 28. It started with Abraham in Genesis 12 —the first three verses there —Abraham, chosen by God to raise up a nation who would then be God's priests to the world so that they would be a blessing to all of the nations. They had a unique role in the great monotheistic religion. The Jews were supposed to reflect morality to the world. Israel was to witness to the name of God. When they talked about the name of God and witnessing to God's name, that does not mean that they were to let everybody know what they called God, "Yahweh." Their goal wasn't to cover the countryside with evangelists who just let everybody know what the right word for God was. It meant something different. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ https://linktr.ee/jacksonlibon -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #realtalk #face #instagram #amour #take #couple #dance #dancers #vogue #voguedqnce #garden #tiktok #psychology #beyou #near #love #foryou #money #ForYouPizza #fyp #irobot #theend #pups #TikToker #couplegoals #famille #relation #doudou #youtube #twitter #tiktokers #love #reeĺs #shorts #instagood #follow #like #ouy #oyu #babyshark #lilnasx #girl #happybirthday #movie #nbayoungboy #deviance #autotrader #trading #khan #academy #carter #carguru #ancestry #accords #abc #news #bts #cbs #huru #bluebook #socialmedia #whatsapp #music #google #photography #memes #marketing #india #followforfollowback #likeforlikes #a #insta #fashion #k #trending #digitalmarketing #covid #o #snapchat #socialmediamarketing H

Shekenda Hill, born in Mobile, AL., better known as her stage name, Brazil Hill is an American rapper and R&B singer. Although the name sounds familiar to the South American Nation, it has no physical connection to Brazil's musical roots. Hill expresses her connection to the name “Brazil” through captivating lyrics, extraordinary soulful sounds attached to her suave personality. Brazil has a powerful desire to encourage people to love who they are and live in their truth through her music. As a true artist her message speaks volumes to a life filled with many ups and downs while pursuing an irresistible journey to being an entertainer. As an eight-year-old, Brazil fell in love with music. Being apart of her church choir helped Brazil continue that creativeness through high school. She sang, wrote her own music and played the keyboard leading her to become a recording artist. Being from Mobile, AL, Brazil is no stranger to street violence. In 2007 her older brother was shot and killed in a senseless act sparked from a heated dispute. Several years later (2015) Brazil was shot twice in a drive by shooting. Not with standing life's hurdles, Brazil has remained focused and determined, never letting her purpose be diminished. In 2017, Brazil began recording with top producers in the city of Mobile AL. and created her first mixtape titled “Sauce Law”, which gained her local fame and recognition throughout her hometown. Shortly after her mixtape released, in 2019 Brazil started her independent label Rich Point Music alongside her business partner Freddie Davis. Brazil also dropped her first single under the label titled ‘In A Minute' that set the alarm! Reaching heights beyond her hometown buzz. Brazil now resides in Atlanta GA and the industry has started to take notice. Embracing the culture letting her talent speak for itself Brazil continues to garner recognition from various outlets.

In this interview, Norman and Japhia have their first interview conversation where we get an introduction to who Japhia Life, the Artist, is. Take some time to relax and listen to this introspective interview of one of Hip Hop's most thorough representatives, especially because he reps Yeshua (Jesus).   Sit down with Norman and Japhia as they get into what developed Japhia into who he is today.  Japhia Life is an American Rapper from what Hip Hop heads nicknamed "illadelph" or "illadelphia". Japhia Life is a Philadelphia born and bred recording artist whose music is reflective of golden era Hip Hop, while simultaneously having a very modern and progressive approach. He grew up with both of his parents: a rare sight in the African-American ghetto where he grew up.  His music has received positive reviews from various entertainment publications and industry tastemakers alike. Play of legendary Hip Hop group 'Kid n Play' says, "Japhia is the guy that's next up as far as Hip Hop is concerned."  Salt of legendary Hip Hop group 'Salt n Pepa' says, "Japhia Life is a breath of fresh air, with a very new perspective."  He understands that being the first Hip Hop artist from West Philadelphia to receive critical acclaim since Will Smith (aka Fresh Prince) gives him big shoes to fill. However, he isn’t as concerned with that as much as he is with simply representing his city well. His first and second retail releases ‘Pages of Life’ and ‘Hell’s Diary: The Healing LP’ were both certified as a underground hip hop classics. While ‘Pages of Life’ was released on tape, cd, and vinyl on the LA based boutique hip hop label ReadyRock Records, and was produced in its entirety by Philly super producer Jude ‘Tha Architect’ Gavin, his second project ‘Hell’s Diary’ was released independently through Japhia’s first label imprint that he founded, Arms Out Entertainment.  His third retail release ‘Fountain of Life’ came out on the Nashville, Tennessee based record label Beatmart Recordings, and was distributed by Sony/BMG and Provident/Integrity. Since then, he has gone on to receive continued acclaim for his following indie releases. #JaphiaLife #CHH #HipHop #PagesOfLife

As one of the originators of the rap group Nappy Roots, R Prophet was nominated for 2 Grammys while traveling the world for tours and visiting the troops in the Middle East. He has a great story about sharing a plane ride back from Iraq with an unexpected celebrity. We talk about the differences, pros and cons, of touring as a solo artist now versus with a group. Another topic of discussion was about how the lockdown has and is affecting his music touring as well as the book signing tour he had to postpone. This Wonderful Women Wednesday after the election celebrates Jane Chika Oranika, known in the rap community as CHIKA.  Chika first gained widespread attention following an Instagram post from November 9, 2016, the day after the 2016 United States Presidential Election. In the video, she covers herself in pale foundation, saying "African-American? Never felt that, never heard of that, never tasted that, never smelled that".  Rollingstone.com calls her the artist you need to know.  Born March 9 in Montgomery, Alabama, Chika is a Nigerian-American rapper, model, and actress.  She did a song entitled "Can't Explain It" featuring Charlie Wilson, which displays her R&B talent.  Early in 2017, she created the #EgoChallenge, using the Beyoncé song of that title to promote body positivity and self-love.  That year she also released a Pride-themed remix of Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" as well as a poetry EP.  In 2018, Chika went viral for a freestyle addressed at Kanye West over West's own "Jesus Walks" beat. The freestyle concerned West's support for Donald Trump and caught the attention of Jada Pinkett Smith, Sean "Diddy" Combs, and Erykah Badu.  Chika identifies as bisexual and addresses her sexuality in her music and videos.  She was featured in JoJo's song "Sabotage" which reached number 18 on the Billboard US R&B Digital Downloads.  Chika released her debut single, "No Squares", in April 2019. The following month, at the invitation of guest host Lena Waithe, she performed "Richey v. Alabama", another of her songs, on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The song dealt with the state of Alabama's 2019 abortion bill.  I kept saying for her to be so young (23), she reminded me of back in the old days, R&B and Rap singer combined.  Chika had a small role in the 2020 Netflix Original film called Project Power and also in 2020, she was included on XXL's 2020 Freshman Class.  In May 2019, Chika is featured in a Calvin Klein #MyCalvins advertisement, also writing poetry for the brand's S/S 2019 campaign. That same year, she participated in a Business of Fashion panel at Paris Fashion Week and posed for the December cover of Teen Vogue. She was recognized by Business of Fashion as one of the top 500 people shaping the fashion industry in 2019.   I hope you enjoy the narratives, which explains what episodes are about, as well as the graphic attached to each episode, which I diligently search for to match each episode. This episode was partially inspired by my oldest daughter who asked the question "Daddy, did Nipsey Hussle go to heaven?" Although, this may be a controversial subject, it is one that needs to be addressed nonetheless.  Salvation vs. "Our" righteousness has been a much debated issue among people. Especially, when they do not  believe the Bible is the final authority on everything.  In this episode we hope to answer many of the questions people have surrounding the subject.  Nipsey Hussle was an American Rapper who was of Aretrian descent. He grew up in the Los Angeles Metro and that is also where he sadly was gunned down by a man while standing in the parking lot of a shopping center he bought to help give back to the neighborhood where he grew up.  Our condolences go to the family who lost a man who seemed to be coming into his own with a positive contribution to the world in many ways that he started to manifest. We pray that through understanding certain things surrounding his death that many will come to know Jesus as their Savior.

We then switch to Representative for NY's 14th Congressional District, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Cortez recently proposed a 70% Tax Hike that surprisingly gain support from both sides of the political aisle. We make an attempt to determine whether or not this proposal will continue to gain momentum or fall by the waste side. Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey has been in the news lately for a number of issues lately particularly dealing with hate speech on the social media platform. He's also been known to be aloof during interviews when asked specific questions. We breakdown the personality traits of people who are incredibly successful, but socially inept. We spend time on Comedian/Writer Louis C.K. and the conversation he had with Ricky Gervais, Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld that became public. The viral video shows Louis C.K. saying the N-word and using his comedic license and rapport with Chris Rock as a way to justify his actions. Megyn Kelly had a major fallout with NBC and walked away with a major payout. Meanwhile, CBS terminated media exec. Les Moonves without severance pay following numerous allegations of sexual harassment and abuse. Amazon reached a major milestone recently while Apple continues to stumble after a myriad of missteps. Here at GaptoothDiva.com, I pride myself on my ability to be open minded and accepting of diverse groups of people. However, I feel there are certain things that we shouldn't have to actively caution ourselves to accept, it should be something organic and natural. I feel that race, gender, class, and Sexual orientation aren't things we should have to program our brains to accept, it should be a given. Although that is how I would love the world, that is not how our realities are. So pioneers such as J.C. Knudson, are forced to write books to give the world a different perspective on how to be more accepting of different people, especially those in the LGBT community. I couldn't be more proud and excited to talk with him tonight and discuss how his efforts and the efforts of many others are finally bringing everyone together in an effort to abolish hate. Joseph “J.C.” Knudson is an author on a mission to educate the world's population about understanding and accepting people who are gay. His first book, a memoir, is called Living the Difference (2010, Espresso House Publishing). Its subtitle is “An Enlightening Story Revealed For People of All Ages, Straight or Gay.” Featuring Music by Featured Artist of The Day, Michael Millions Michael Millions is an American Rapper. Native of Richmond, Virginia; he's an artist that truly believes in the craft of his work as his work ethic follows suit. Unlike many indie artists striving to be the ‘next big thing', Michael's passion does not lie in fame and fortune, but within the artistry that goes into each song/project and how it resonates with his listeners. Michael Millions' music embodies not only who he is as a rapper, but who he is as an artist and a person.
