Once tragedy hits there is life before the tragedy and life after the tragedy. There is often a need for a new normal to be established. Tedashii knows this all too well after tragedy suddenly hit his family. On today's show Tedashii shares with us how he came to know the Lord and how he clung to his faith as he found his new normal after the loss of his child. Tedashii is a tenured artist, musician, communicator, and writer burdened to see equity brought to the marginalized. Growing up in Texas on the fringes of society, family and football were everything - then he found faith in Christ. With this faith, he ventured into vocational ministry and eventually artistry as a member of the 116 on Reach Records. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a duel Bachelor's degree in Anthropology and Sociology to further his ambitions to reach those beyond his city limits. For the last twenty years he's devoted his life to encouraging others to find their identity in God and leading a movement of unashamed believers who desire to engage the world for His glory. He is the founder of the Chase Foundation—an organization to serve families who have lost children by being a present help for future hope, the originator of Chase Wellness, the CEO of Unashamed Ministries, and the host of his podcast The Dash. Tedashii and his wife (Danielle) live in Atlanta, GA and are the proud parents of four amazing boys. You may not have lost a child, but I'm certain you've had tragedy in your life. Today's episode encourages and challenges us to change our perspective of hardships and not our perspective of God.SHOW LINKS:HH Book ClubWalking with God Through Pain and SufferingBurn the BoatsCONNECT WTIH JAMIE

As we continue our series, "Soundtracks", Tedashii teaches through Psalm 67. He teaches us the desire of this psalm is to let the whole world know and praise God, and the way we do that is to be a blessing to others.1) Blessings do not come to you. They flow through you.2) God blesses us because He loves us.3) God blesses us so we can bless others.

The powerful pop vocalist of Puerto Rican descent, Blanca, was born in New York City and at a young age, moved to Florida, where she lives today. The Premios Arpa award recipient's self-titled, debut solo album, following a successful Dove Award-winning run with Group 1 Crew, garnered two No. 1 radio singles, “Who I Am” and “Not Backing Down (feat. Tedashii),” the latter of which was featured on ESPN. Shattered, Blanca's second album and a project that is very personal to her, added three back-to-back No. 1 radio singles (“Real Love,” “What If” and “Remind Me”) to her story, along with 104 million streams and more than 39 million views on YouTube. She received her first-ever Tecla Award nomination in October of 2019, in the category of Best Musician Creating Social Content. Blanca's recent radio single, “Even At My Worst,” became her sixth No. 1 radio single. Also, “The Healing (feat. Dante Bowe)” was a resounding success that allowed both of them to perform at the 2022 K-Love Fan Awards, where Blanca was nominated for Female Artist of the Year. Her new solo project, The Heartbreak and The Healing, is available everywhere now. In 2019, she was part of the main cast of the Bogotá Gospel event, sharing the stage with artists such as Alex Zurdo, Danilo Montero, and others. Cultivating her Latin roots, in 2020 she announced her second EP in Spanish titled Renovada, handling singles mostly in Spanish and collaborations with Christine D'Clario, Gawvi, "Papi Song" with Genio, in honor of her father Toñito Reyes. Blanca has a lot to say on her new album, The Heartbreak & The Healing. She uses a diverse fusion of pop, Latin, Hip-Hop, and Gospel to share her heart about her recent divorce. This full-length album is loaded with positive grace-filled messages of hope that address the pressures of life. Blanca understands that her identity only comes from her relationship with God. The album offers two sides of the same story—the hurt and the redemption. Let's get real. A lot of people go through things in life but rarely do many people bring you in. Well, that's exactly what Tedashii wants to do in this episode as he shares about dealing with his brutal accident on tour. Join in as he gives one of his most vulnerable interviews to date.
We are all looking for a place to belong, whether it be in clubs at our schools or cliques at our workplaces. However, Texas-born rapper Tedashii knows firsthand that the “home-shaped holes” in our hearts are spaces that only God can truly fill. In this episode of Where Ya From? podcast from VOICES, Tedashii shares how Jesus took the passions that often made the artist stand out and turned them into a ministry and career. Guest Bio: Known for his distinct, deep voice and versatile flow, Texas-born rapper Tedashii made his debut in 2005 as a member of the 116 Clique, a hip-hop group associated with Reach Records. Since then, he's gone on to an acclaimed solo career—his 2014 album Below Paradise even debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard 200s albums chart. More recently, he's launched his first podcast: The Dash. Notes & Quotes: “All the while God was orchestrating the path, using football, using family, painful points, and moments in history to get me to this moment. Like I tell everybody, I went to Baylor to get saved, not to get a degree.” “It's not enough that you get to run around and share the gospel with your friends. They can reject that. But when you make public stances, it draws a line in the sand.” “And now I think the music is both the thing that glorifies God and the way in which I choose to wield it is the thing that glorifies God.” “Grief, in my opinion, is love persisting.” Links Mentioned: Visit our website to sign up for emails.
