You have to be a security expert as well. -Jason says this is also where the NSITSP comes in. -The idea of NSITSP is that our industry wasn't represented well. It is a completely member driven organization that aims to establish high standards and ethics and improve the credibility of IT providers. -The other aspect of the organization is that legislation is inevitable, and it would serve all of our best interests to be a part of crafting that legislation. -Sam curiously asks about their code of ethics. -Compare our industry and ethics to that of a locksmith who may have privileged access and has to have their own code of ethics. -Want to get involved? Visit NSITSP and look at the membership and volunteering options. -Switching gears, we get into a conversation about cloud vs private data storage. -Understand the lack of regulation around cloud data storage. -Jason uses Kerio Connect and Kerio Control for private cloud setups. -Just call Jason “Mr. On Premises.” -Some of the questions to ask a client are their tolerance for risk, exposure, and speed needs.

This week's guest, Jason Harrison, is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist who co-owns Present Tense Fitness (PTF). Harrison, his wife Susan, and yoga instructor Anna Shearer train clients out of their fitness studio that located in Dayton, Ohio's Oregon District. The Oregon District (OD) - a small stretch of boutiques, restaurants and bars - made national headlines in August 2019 after becoming a target of an active shooter. Dayton Police officers responded within moments, but nine Daytonians lost their lives before the shooter was fatally shot. Part of Dayton moving forward included a concert organized by Dave Chappelle that featured performances by Stevie Wonder, Kanye West and his Sunday Service Choir and (I believe) nearby Springfield native John Legend. Harrison actually addressed a crowd at a vigil, and eventually started writing op-eds about local race relations, policy-making and politicians for the local paper. Harrison was invited onto IAP to get his opinion on how him and his OD neighbors are getting along 1 1/2 years later. For the opening topics... IAP had to ask about how some find themselves rooting for Snowfall's lead character "Franklin Saint" (Damson Idris). Saint, a creation of late director John Singleton, is loosely based on legendary Los Angeles cocaine trafficker "Freeway" Ricky Ross. Also, a bit of a related matter had to be discussed in Poor Righteous Teachers' rapper Wise Intelligent actually having to defend his Instagram post about his day-to-day business dealings classifying him as a "man" versus the streets-accepted "hustler." --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/its-always-personal/support

In a day when so many people seem so disconnected–rootless, even–searching for your family's identity is more important than ever. Church leaders from the very beginning until now have taught that family history not only has power to do something for the dead, but it also has power to bless the living. President Boyd K. Packer said, “Family history . . . has a refining, spiritualizing, tempering influence on those who are engaged in it” (“Your Family History: Getting Started,” Ensign, Aug. 2003, 17). “A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.” —Marcus Garvey Imagine stepping back into the young Joseph Smith's shoes when he first heard Moroni's words quoting Malachi: Do you think he had even a clue as to what the angel meant? We do today, with hundreds of temples dotting the earth, with even more underway in places no one would have ever expected: Dubai? Shanghai?! Amazing, isn't it? Just as the Prophet Joseph Smith predicted, the work is rolling forth. And only the Latter-day Saints have the keys and the privilege to do vicarious work for their “family tree.” Roots and branches. That's the essence of the Restoration. Thank goodness for all the tools now at our disposal, thanks in large part to new technology and innovation by the Church to link families together. In this podcast, Latter Day Radio has a new guest, Jason Harrison, from the Church Genealogy Library in Salt Lake City to share his knowledge of the latest developments available to us to link the past with the present. Did you know that there is a lawsuit filed for declaratory judgment by a group of drone pilots against Genessee County for passing an ordinance prohibiting drone use in the park? Well now you do! And we have it covered at Drone Law Pro Radio. In this episode we interview Jason Harrison, our friend from a Fed 2019 episode who was handcuffed and issued a ticket for flying his drone in a Genessee County, Michigan park. The police accidentally activated the drones camera and microphone before confiscating the drone, leading a a video and audio recoding all the way from the park into the police station (click here to check out the footage). Now Jason has been left no choice but to start a lawsuit by the Michigan Coalition of Drone Operators to declare the ordinance invalid under MCL 259.305 which precludes municipalities in Michigan from regulating drone use or ownership. The Genealogy Gems Podcast with Lisa Louise Cooke - Your Family History Show

Published April 8, 2011 In this episode we cover Census Records Tips and Tricks.   MAILBOX:   "Keep coming up with these gems, you never know where they may lead!" from Angela who asks about Date Discrepanies and Lookalikes  “All of her life my grandmother was sure that she hadn't been told the whole truth about her birth.”   Garry in British Columbia wrote in about A Gem Found in the    Letitia in Ashford, England writes “Picnic: Problem In Chair Not In Computer!”    Phyllis from Porland OR is a new blogger and has a question about the "First I want you to know how much I enjoy your podcasts.  I really appreciate all the hard work you put into getting information to us about how to successfully trace our family roots and for encouraging us to start a blog.    I started my blog last October.  The site name is and once word got out about the site, family members that I never knew I had contacted me to give me information about our ancestors.  I was even able to find a relative of my great grandmother and my great grandfather in Pescasseroli, Italy and have begun corresponding with them!  So exciting."   APP TIP:  If your iPhone or Android Genealogy Gems Podcast app is acting up check for app and phone updates        In each episode we usually upload a few extra bonus goodies.  With the last episode I included a video version of my interview with Dick Eastman, and I often include photos and other documents, and those are unique to the apps, so be sure and click on Bonus or Extras once you've selected a particular episode.   Sean writes in about Citing Wikipedia Sources in your family history research Sean recommends using the text "Permanent Link."  Read more about it at the Finding the Flock Blog   Ken in Washington DC has a beef with Ancestry "First, thank you for the time and effort in putting together your podcasts.  I walk several miles to work each day and find the podcasts a wonderful way to pass the time.  I started with all of your archived episodes when I found the series early last year, finished those up last summer, and now eagerly await each new one."   Tammy in Oklahoma asks about old WAC Broadcasts "I'm a long time listener and happy to say that I am now a Premium Member as well!" I was recently transcribing letters that my grandmother sent home while she served as a WAC in London and Paris during WWII.  Her name was Louise Liberty Osborne.  She was quite a character.   One of the last letters I was working on mentioned that she appeared on the National Broadcast of the U.S. Army Hour which was on Sundays from 12 to 1:30.  The letter is dated May 14, 1944.  Do you know if recordings of these broadcasts still exist?  that specializes in old radio logs Set up some Google Alerts ("army hour" + 1944 for example) and Ebay Favorite Searches.  There are also several Old Time Radio podcasts in iTunes    Susan writes: I love listening to your podcasts. You have so many great ideas for family research. I learn something new with every broadcast.  I was wondering if you or any of your listeners have had any luck in finding family records at a church in Germany.  Lisa's Suggestions: The best way to start is with familysearch.org.  Look up Osnabruck in the online.  Under the location you'll find a large number of record collections.  Click on Church records and follow the links to the records you need.  You can then order the microfilm from your local Family History Center (or if the records have been digitized and are online that should be indicated on the page) and view them at the center.  If you're new to using Family History Centers I've done several podcast episodes in my podcast on them and how to use their records. The is also a tremendous online free resource to learn more about doing German research and answer questions that pop up along the way.   GEM: Census Tips and Tricks Lisa interviews Jason Harrison of Familysearch
