Joe Daymond is one of New Zealand's best and funniest comedians who shot to fame during lockdown with his snackable social media vids. He's now an award-winning comedian, actor, director and producer who has sold out national tours across both New Zealand & Australia. In this episode we talk about his fast rise through the NZ comedy scene, why he lived out of his car for months, becoming the youngest Kiwi comedian to sell-out Sky City Theatre – and why it may have happened too quickly, dealing with success, coping with criticism, performing with Theo Von and meeting Dave Chappelle, finding balance at home and what the future looks like.Joe is hilarious, but he also has incredible depth. This conversation was a ripper, full of thoughtfulness and laughs.Joe also looks a lot like Seamus – and as this one progresses you'll see more and more about how eerily similar they are. Two beautiful men – it's good stuff. If you'd like to get one of our epic guests in to MC or Speak at your function or event, flick us a message by going to B2Bspeakers.co.nz.This episode is brought to you by TAB, download the new app today and get your bet on!Between Two Beers is now part of the Acast Creator Network, listen wherever you get your podcasts from, or watch the video on YouTube.Enjoy. Joe Daymond is one of New Zealand's biggest comedians, from living in his car and cleaning toilets, to being the youngest person to sell out SkyCity Theatre at the age of 24. He's also the Founder of the show 'Bouncers', that is featured by Comedy Central. It's safe to say that Joe is a kiwi who's absolutely getting after it! Hey guys, The strategy of selling product is constantly changing and I wanted to share with you the concept of "Content into Commerce," which involves selling products or services on the back of valuable content shared through media channels I provide examples from New Zealand comedian Joe Daymond and companies such as West Park, Complex, and Barstool Sports, who have successfully monetized their content through merchandise, hot sauce, and frozen pizza. Others are also embracing this strategy with the likes of the team at You Know Clothing. You may have noticed the content they have been putting out recently which is entertaining and informing all while they are wearing their product within the content. The key to success is consistently providing value to the audience and establishing oneself as a trusted and reliable source of information. Thanks for listening and if you received any value in this it would the world to me if you considered subscribing or even sharing on your social media channels and tagging either @stacytapsell or @votion.co.nz As always, I appreciate you! See you in the next one! Peace Stacy

Comedian and Celebrity Treasure Island contestant Joe Daymond joins JK to share his journey with self-acceptance, imposter syndrome and the turning points that have got him to where he is today. When Joey D returned home to NZ after travelling at the age of 21, he stumbled into the first and biggest turning point of his life so far. Realising his lifestyle didn't align with his values and the people he surrounded himself with were not making him feel good, he made the tough decision to distance himself from the relationships that were impacting his wellbeing and hindering his personal growth. Raised in Wainuiomata, Joe Daymond, the 25-year-old Fijian-Māori comedian is barely four years into his career but he's sold out the SkyCity Theatre, been on TV and is about to have his own web series ‘Bouncers' shown on Comedy Central in the UK. Joe Daymond is a Fijian Maori comedian from Wainuiomata. Kimaea and Pele catch up with Joe a couple of months before he announced his history-making SOLD OUT Shows at the prestigious SkyCity Theatre in Auckland.
Joe Daymond was a guest on the show back in April this year. At the time we touched on the years of blood sweat & tears that had gone into his craft, both writing & performing stand up comedy. In April, he had started to take social media by storm, an exciting feeling for a creative who had fought to keep his head above water after years without recognition. Fast forward 3 months & he is the youngest comedian in New Zealand's history to sell out sky city arena in Auckland & has come off the back of a 10 show tour. To be fair, he has been one of the great success stories to come out of this crazy year we call 2020. After our first episode together, Joe & I connected as mates. For all the laughs we have shared these past months, what has meant more to me is to see this great fella have the success he deserves. Underneath the laughs Joe has an unwavering belief in himself. At times everyone doubted him, but he never doubted himself. The message... believe in yourself & be who you want to be. There is nothing more powerful than that. Joe Daymond is a kiwi comedian on a rapid ascent. Three years ago he was working in property in Auckland, but he wasn’t happy. He always wanted to try comedy, so he signed up to an open mic night and quite literally the rest is history. He is well and truly the bees knees in the world of comedy (and in his own words he’s “the f*cking man”). This is an awesome chat talking about life’s turning points, dealing with criticism and outside perceptions. Joe is refreshingly honest and down to earth...and yeah, he’s pretty funny too. Disclaimer: there is the odd use of the 'F' bomb. Brought to you by: Roar Collective Hosts: Art & Matilda Green Produced by: Roar Collective
