This week, we welcome back the always wonderful Joe Kaye to chat about Walt Disney's Experimental Prototype City of Tomorrow, or EPCOT. Matthew Burnside is on assignment so we are also joined by the also always wonderful Laura Knight. So you got three Disney park nerds talking about possibly the nerdist of all Disney parks. Instead of a history of EPCOT, we opt to explore what makes EPCOT unique and special. From making learning fun to being a gateway for expanding your pallet, to the raging debate about integrating IP into the park, we celebrate a park where idiosyncrasies and outside the box thinking have create a one of a kind experience. Hey y'all! Today we're unlocking one of our all-time favorite Patreon episodes! Recorded pre-pandemic on February 22, 2020, we had a full damn house in the studio for this one as we talk about our trip back to the Record Parlour record store in Hollywood for another deep dive into their sun-warped, outdoor $2 vinyl crates! In this one, we pulled up some true folksy weirdness like a song that's all about "Morning Corn" as well as some Yacht Rock and, naturally, some Christian Prog Rock! This episode is truly one of the funniest episodes (Patreon or otherwise) we've ever done. Along for the ride on this one, comedians Kevin Anderson (@KBAndersonYo) and Joe Kaye (@JoeCharlesKaye). Joe worked as part of the street team for the play and has a pretty amazing story of his personal experience with the play. Six rads forward and five rads back. We've got (an episode about) an angry inch! This week on This Is Rad, Kyle and Matt welcome back the always wonderful Julia Prescott for a chat about her favorite play “Hedwig and The Angry Inch”. For those who don't know, this is a GREAT place to start if you want to know about this cult phenomenon. Julia recounts her first experience with Hedwig and how it has prfoundly effected her life. They also talk about the unique way that the show was originally staged, and how it defied nearly every aspect of a traditional broadway play. Kyle talks about his own personal history of hating musicals and how Hedwig (and our Joe Kaye episode on musicals) really opened him up to a larger vision of what musical theater can be. Plus, Burnside had pretty much no idea what the play was about so its pretty funny when he learns what the titular “angry inch” is referring to... Weekly Rads: Matthew: The Xbox One X (The one he won in that Taco Bell contest) Kyle: Caifanes (band) and their self titled album. (Bonus rad: Cafe Tacvba (band) and their single “Futaro”) Follow Us on Twitter! Show: @ThisIsRadPod Kyle: @kyleclarkisrad Matthew: @MatthewBurnside Art (Laura): @LMKnightArt
Hai Friends! This week ball of fun Joe Kaye and I watched "Its a Jersey Thing" and had a pj party about it. We go in depth describing how great this episode is and Joe speaks of both his disgust and nostalgia for New Jersey. This one is not on the road, but it is still off the rails! PARTY!!
Our guest this week is Joe Kaye (@JoeCharlesKaye, Canteen Points) on the Golden Girls podcast! It's a Stan-isode. We hungover-ishly watched the one where Dorothy enters a bachelorette auction and Stan wins her! Also, Sophia's brother Angelo visits under bad circumstances. AND Dorothy and Stan inherit an apartment building. We talked about how the movie Point Break was created, Rosebud diapers and the Roseanne reboot: Ghostanne. Music by Mike Dennison (@mikd33) and Brian Kokernak (@kokernutz).

They say the neon lights are bright on... RADWAY! This week Kyle, Matthew and Producer Natalie defy gravity by talking about musicals with comedian Joe Kaye. Joe and Natalie try to win Kyle and Burnside over to the side of musical theatre by gabbing about their favorite shows. Natalie thinks "The Wedding Singer" is underrated and Joe loves "Title of Show." Meanwhile, Kyle likes the darkness of community theatre as well as the body count in "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark."
