Most of us assume that awakening and activation are only expansive phenomena, and if we’re experiencing contraction that there must be something wrong. However, it is impossible to “selectively open/activate.” As we go through awakening experiences and activate different fields and energy centers, any unprocessed, stagnant energy will also come to the surface. Instead of shutting down and creating an “energetic whiplash” experience, how can you stay present with your awakening and go through the full range of activation? Michelle and Katherine offer powerful tools and recommendations to help you get the most out of your awakening journey and fully activate your gifts and power. Some of you may know that I’ve had difficulties with adrenal fatigue for a while now. I’ve always suspected that my gut health might have something to do with it, especially my penchant for sugar! What I didn’t realise is that gut health is virtually connected to everything. I’m talking stress, fertility, hormones, weight and so much more. In this episode, I’m joined by naturopath, nutritionist and author Katherine Maslen, who enlightens me about all things gut health — it’s truly fascinating! Join Katherine and me as she talks about what a healthy digestive system should look like, how sugar feeds the yeast in your gut and how fixing our gut health first can have a huge impact on so many areas of your health. She also explains the ketogenic diet, the difference between pre- and probiotics, and how veggies should be the cornerstone of your weekly meal plan. Key takeaways: Your gut is a very complex system that starts with your mouth and is followed by your stomach, small intestine, pancreas and liver. If you have a problem in one area it can easily impact another area. If you have a lot of bloating, Katherine recommends eliminating wheat and dairy for two weeks. If you don’t see any change, it might be time to see a naturopath. Your gut microbiome is made up of 2–3 kilos of bacteria, yeast, viruses and archaea organisms, all operating in a delicate balance. Katherine’s podcast “The Shift” is a video documentary series featuring interviews with gut health experts. Katherine recommends eating 2 types of probiotic food daily, such as kimchi, sauerkraut, miso or yoghurt with live cultures. Join Katherine and I as we explore a different side of National Parks where people drink too much water at the Grand Canyon and others purposefully hurl themselves off cliffs taller than two Empire State Buildings stacked on top of each other. Andrea Lankford’s Ranger Confidential: Living, Working, and Dying in the National Parks dives deep into the gritty and often unseen lives of park rangers and their day-to-day work. It’s a bit gruesome, it’s very fascinating, and extremely emotional at times. In our discussion, Katherine gives us a small glimpse into when she herself worked at Acadia National Park and we both agree that we don’t want to ever do BASE jumps.

Ritual and sacred practice is an essential part of the Earthly experience. Throughout human history, we have been able to trace the thread of sacred rites and rituals that mark pivotal experiences. Earth cycles such as solstices and equinoxes, harvest and the rains, were traditionally honored with ceremony. Human events such as birth, naming, rites of passage and death, were also ritualized and held sacred. Other animals practice ritual as well: dolphins, corvids (crows, magpies, ravens), chimpanzees and elephants, among others, hold ritual honoring births and deaths of family members. Why is ritual essential to our human experience? How does this reflect in a culture bereft of sacred ceremony? How can we incorporate more sacred practice into our lives? Join Katherine and Michelle for a LIVE panel discussion on the importance of ritual for a healthy Self and society!

What can we actually do in this lifetime to support fully clearing these wounds? Join Katherine and Michelle for a LIVE panel discussion on the nature of healing!
