On January 1, 2021, host Tim Cavey tweeted “All right, educators. Who’s up for the 10,000 push-up challenge this year? We’ll need to average 28 per day and track our progress together.” At the time, he hoped that maybe a few educators might join him. To his surprise, the tweet was liked hundreds of times, and over 170 educators joined him in a Google Sheet to track their push-up progress together. By January 16, 2021, challenge participants had combined for 66,357 recorded push-ups! As fun as that is, the challenge isn’t actually about the numbers. It’s about lifestyle change. It’s about gradually building a new daily habit: one that improves our fitness and expands our capacity to serve others. Whether you’re an official member of the Teachers on Fire 10,000 Push-Up Challenge or you’re on your own quest for teacher wellness, this conversation will encourage you. Enjoy. BOND Sunday Service, May 2, 2010: Jesse Lee Peterson asks about the prior week's assignment, to think about what it means to die at the cross. Many people think that salvation and overcoming is a process. Some thought they let things, giving them over to God, but it doesn't always work, and they don't seem clear on how to do it. Some hold onto anger and frustration, but can't help it. Did you know there is no tomorrow? Many people get caught up on learned words, but they don't know for themselves. On Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019, at 8:30 a.m. Pacific Time, the U.S. Air Force, in partnership with the Strategic Capabilities Office, conducted a flight test of a prototype conventionally-configured ground-launched ballistic missile from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California. But just what the heck did the DOD actually test? Jeffrey and team turn their analytic methods towards figuring out exactly what this strange, Frankenmissile was, and the open-source research lessons that can be gleaned from academic papers and unclassified laboratory newsletters. And yes, we know it is actually Frankenstein's Missile, Frankenstein was actually the prime contractor. Support us over at Patreon.com/acwpodcast!

BOND Sunday Service, April 25, 2010: Jesse Lee Peterson opens up discussing his desire that people become perfect. Christ said to be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect. But Christians don't believe it's possible. We then talk about anger in the family, and how mothers, rather than fathers, pass anger to the children. One black mother gets up and leaves the meeting, because she disagreed that women have an evil spirit driving them. BOND Sunday Service, April 18, 2010: Jesse Lee Peterson invites people to comment on the previous Sunday's meeting about whites and people of color who hold onto resentment.* Jesse traveled recently, visiting troubled youth including girls who grew up without their fathers, as well as Christian adults from other churches. Are you born again of the Spirit of God? Do you have anger in your heart? One man distinguishes between anger and hatred, saying God and Jesus get angry. But families are destroyed with anger, which is the same as hatred. People are controlled by evil and don't know it. Saluton and feliĉan Kristnaskon! Estas mi, Tyson Saner, your host this week on the final Succotash Shut-In episode for 2020. And what an episode it is! Comedian, actress, improvisational performer, soundcaster, and all-around great person Cassandra Cardenes joins me for her very 1st Succotash episode as we talk at length about the Christmastime movie classic (?), the 2003 Richard Curtis-directed film with the sizable ensemble cast: Love Actually. (BTW, last week, Marc Hershon interviewed his fellow Vulture.com soundcast reviewer Becca James for Epi233 and you can still listen to it on Google and Apple podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Podbay, iHeart Radio, and the Laughable app just to name a few places…as well as over at www.succotashshow.com which is, of course, this show's homesite. Cassandra joined me for this conversation immediately after appearing on a weekly soundcast she has been appearing on for the last 5 years, Nooner Podcast over at Kevin Smith's SModcast Internet Radio…which YOU can listen to live just about every Tuesday night at 7:30 Pacific Time. She also has a regular soundcast called Trashy Trashy that she co-hosts with Erika Curry. (Trashy Trashy was clipped for Succotash Shut-In Epi216: "Clippin' The COVID Blues Away", and both Cassandra and Erika were guests on the most recent episode of Anti Social Show #89: "Fun With Trash", which you can find by Googling "Sounds By Tyson Saner" or by going to www.tysonsaner.com and clicking the link for my Soundcloud. This episode also includes a holiday-season-appropriate commercial from our longtime ersatz sponsor Henderson's Pants and what could be the final reading from our more recent sponsor with the website, TrumPoetry.com…maybe. We shall see what the new year brings. This is the final Succotash Shut-In of 2020. What a year this has been and still continues to be. I would say something like "I can't wait for 2020 to be over," but as I ponder my own mortality as well as that of those around me that I love, care for, and respect, I reflect on the finite nature of pretty much everything and choose to experience every day and make each one last as long as it can. The fear of death can make people desperate in particularly nasty ways. Some people claim that they aren't afraid of dying and use that as an excuse to be careless and/or reckless with the lives of the people around them…which I would like to go on record as generally wanting to discourage that sort of thing. After all, encouraging the spread of a deadly disease is tantamount to domestic biological terrorism. Imagine if it were treated as such. Now, shake it off and imagine peace on Earth and goodwill towards all humankind. Imagine that love IS all around…because it actually is…actually… If all goes well, I'll talk to you in 2021 on January 23rd, I believe. 4 days before my son's 2nd birthday. Thank you for listening, Thank you to Marc Hershon, Joe Paulino, Bill Heywatt, Scott Carvey, and Kenny Durgis for making the show a thing and for including me in it. Thank you to all my friends and family who might hear this one day…BTW, don't forget to please pass the Succotash! —Tyson Saner

Church with Jesse Lee Peterson, Sunday, December 13, 2020 – After taking a few questions, we do the Silent Prayer to show people how to watch their thoughts. Then we discuss the question: Are mothers horny for their sons? We don’t wish to get too vulgar in Church. But so often, mothers hate the fathers, and follow their sons around, destroying their sons’ relationships with girlfriends and wives. In the fallen state, people are sexual, when they feel good or bad. Women often accuse men of what’s in their own hearts. Do not look for love, and do not hate. We touch very briefly on this past week’s Biblical Question: Why shouldn’t men allow women to take over? And the new Biblical Question: Do you think you believe what you want to believe? ANNOUNCEMENTS: No Women’s Forum this week; Jesse will be out-of-town Thursday night. On Wednesday, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare added 2,298 new cases and 29 new deaths to its statewide total. Today’s case count once again breaks the record for the most cases added in a single day, and is the second day in a row over 2,000 cases. That puts the statewide total at 116,203 cases and 1,103 deaths The Gem County Coroner has borrowed a refrigerated support trailer from Ada County to handle an overflow of bodies. Gem County usually averages 190 to 205 deaths a year, but has had over 240 already. Only a few deaths are COVID related, but the coroner’s office is concerned about the future, had run out of space and needed additional storage. Governor Brad Little will hold a press conference tomorrow at 12 pm Mountain Time, 11 am Pacific Time. You can watch it on Idaho Public Television or stream it online.

Guest host:http://davidjackson.org/ ( )https://twitter.com/stephfuccio (Steph Fuccio) from https://www.stephfuccio.com/ (The Geopats Podcasts). News flash: Your podcast is on the internet. That means it’s available to anyone anywhere in the world. So yes, even if you’re doing a local podcast about New York City, Kansas City, or Bangkok, you probably have a wider global reach than you think. I’ve spent the majority of the past 16 years living abroad. During that time I've been active in podcasting groups and listening groups filled with local people wherever I happen to live. And just about everyone in those groups, at one time or another, has been slightly frustrated by the inaccessibility of the podcasts they choose to listen to that are not local to them. Yes, we’re talking local accessibility today on the show. Here are three very quick things you can do on your podcast that would help invite more global listeners to your podcast. 1. Be A Good Tour Guide For Your Out Of Town Listeners Those obvious things to you and the others who live in your town, state, or country are probably not that obvious to a global audience. Think about that when you’re recording, and make a conscious effort to clarify for the listeners who might be anywhere in the world things that you think are obvious. You can also do this in post-production, hopping in with a clarifying statement and then getting back to the interview or monologue. It’s not disruptive at all. Not even to your local listeners. 2. Spread The Link Love For More Context Add links - lots of links! - inside of your episode details. They’re a handy guide right at the fingertips for your not-local listeners. With a quick click, they’re digging into the extra info you’ve linked to while they’re listening to your words. That’s helpful! 3. Eschew US-based Time Zones Sure, you and I can convert Eastern Time to Pacific Time in our heads. But there rest of the world? Not so much. Switching to just providing all times in GMT probably won’t be good for your US-based listeners. So here’s a clever way to do a better job when mentioning a times: Use the “World Clock” feature on your mobile phone and lock-in three or four cities around the world. Maybe New York, London, and Sydney, for example. When you’re mentioning a time on your show (or on your social channels for your show), give the times with those cities named. Even if your global listeners aren’t in those cities, they probably know roughly how far off they are from one of those, so they can get at least a close approximation in their head. Sure, these three things take a little more work. But they really will make the global listeners that are already listening to your podcast fell a lot more invited. ----- Share with a friend: https://player.captivate.fm/episode/c0cbe142-e00d-438f-bffa-7d3be3574b1c https://twitter.com/evoterra (Follow Evo on Twitter) for more podcasting insights as they come. https://buymeacoffee.com/evoterra (Buy him a virtual coffee) to show your support. Church with Jesse Lee Peterson, Sunday, November 8, 2020: We did not take calls today. A white man from Texas brought his black wife and some of their children. Jesse witnessed a "Knockout Game" attack! Beware. People comment on the election and how the world is reacting. If any man says he knows God and still sins, he is a liar. Get up in the morning, be still, and know God. One young lady does not realize she has anger. Donald Trump, in dealing with evil, is a perfect example of what we as children of God should become. Church with Jesse Lee Peterson, Sunday, October 11, 2020: Tip from Jesse: Avoid rallies right now; it’s unnecessary ego and violence. Bible verses prove that it’s a disgrace for men to have long hair. Jesse offers a beautiful monologue about what it’s like living as a son of God on earth. He then takes questions and feedback about Silent Prayer, wearing masks, fear and worry about the future, moving out, forgiving one’s mother. Dating advice: Men, don’t take money from women. And women, don’t let the men shower you with gifts and money. For discussion next week, the Bible says: If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. Have you done this? Did it work? BIBLICAL QUESTION this past week: Which do you prefer: Time or freedom? Freedom! Time is an illusion. Next BIBLICAL QUESTION: What did Jesus mean when he said: Out of 1,000 I’ll choose one of you, and out of 10,000, two? BOND Sunday Service, January 24, 2010: Jesse Lee Peterson reminds people about the theme of the year 2010: Trust Truth. He reads from Proverbs 1, about wisdom. Parents and older people are not teaching knowledge to the young. Some in the congregation talk about how they seek to do what's right in their lives. The knowledge of truth is not the living truth that changes you. Jesse points out that you cannot have fear, doubt, loneliness, insecurity, worries, anxiety, or depression if you do not have anger. About midway through the service, Jesse recounts a story from his time at Crenshaw Christian Center with Pastor Fred Price, in which he didn't feel like a man. More recently a friend from this church recounted a long story of seeking after God, being a good Christian, involved in the church. In his late 40s or 50s he still lived with his mother. He fell sick, physically debilitated to a point near death. Bedridden, he was forced to be still, partially unable to hear. In that state, he realized that he hated his mother, and that he had no love. How do you find love? When suffering in your fallen state, count it all joy. Don’t listen to the thoughts. Women need men like men need Christ. A family with a father, mother, son, and four daughters joined us! BOND Sunday Service, January 10, 2010: Jesse Lee Peterson reminds everyone of the year's theme: Trust Truth. He reads from the Bible of things Jesus said, and talks about how to find people who are truly free. Then the people discuss their lives. At one point Jesse explains how people listen to the lying thoughts in their imagination — for example, thinking that he's talking about them when he tells stories of unnamed individuals.
