Can a machine love a child the way a parent does? Kelly introduces a special GOTO series exploring one of the most unsettling questions of our time: as AI becomes more capable, what is a parent actually for? After curating a session at TED 2025 on parenting and technology, Kelly shares an episode she hosted of TED Talks Daily featuring her own TED Talk about the unglamorous, unmeasurable bravery required in family life—the kind that happens when someone says "tell me more" instead of trying to fix everything. Then she takes us behind the scenes of her work with six speakers who helped her wrestle with whether AI could ever replace the messy, imperfect, irreplaceable work of raising a human. From technologists who insist AI could breastfeed better than humans to psychologists warning about developing intolerance for real people's limitations, this conversation looks at what we might lose if we optimize away all the friction and failure that actually shapes us. Okayyyy I went there today.Welcome to my first ever Friday Episode!Moving forward, Wednesday Episodes will be more business strategy and Friday will be identity activation and personal growth - especially in becoming the woman God called you to be.If you've been feeling like you're showing up online but wondering if it even matters... like you're posting and posting but still kinda battling that “what am I even building?” feeling... this one's for you. This episode is not some perfectly packaged TED Talk, it's me telling the truth about building a business that actually lasts and how God has used visibility not to stroke my ego, but to shape my character.I'm talking about:what really shifted in me 2 years & 2 months ago when someone left my life publicly without a word (and I've never told that full story on air… until now)how I've been learning that sometimes God removes what you thought you needed to reveal what you're really made ofwhy I no longer need the loudest voice in the room. I want the most grounded oneand how we confuse content with calling and what to do about itI also talked about how our kids aren't listening to what we say, they're watching who we are. That reel hit different today and it fit perfectly. This one's honest, emotional, and might make you feel a little exposed in the best way.But if you're building something with real impact, this is your reminder that legacy often looks quiet… until the harvest comes. And yes, WealthGen is still open this week, but this isn't a pitch. This episode is a mirror. For the woman who knows she's called to more, and is finally ready to stop performing and start becoming. Why building for legacy doesn't actually require applauseWhat happened the day God removed someone I never thought I'd loseThe real reason we get addicted to being seenWhy visibility isn't the goal, but alignment isHow to use attention without needing validationAnd how to walk in obedience when it costs you approvalAnd if you know WealthGen is your next step?DM me “WEALTH” on instagram (@randacarrabba) to get in before the doors close.Or watch the masterclass replay here: www.randacarrabba.com/wealthgen-masterclass/

Aaron Johnson is a powerful social activist and thought leader dedicated to fostering environments where Black-bodied individuals can fully express themselves. His TED Talk, “Chronically Undertouched,” highlights the profound absence of safe, loving, platonic touch in the lives of many Black men. His work is rooted in addressing this deep cultural and emotional wound. Aaron helps men of African descent transition from being chronically undertouched to developing personalized “touch plans,” creating practices that honor safety, connection, and dignity. Beyond individual guidance, Aaron cultivates retreats and workshops on Black-owned land in the Mojave Desert, where BIPOC communities can gather for healing, meditation, song, and collective renewal. In this episode, host Shay Beider and Aaron Johnson dive into the profound impact of platonic touch for Black men and BIPOC communities. Aaron shares his personal journey of reclaiming touch and accepting his tears after confronting the deep cultural barriers shaped by history, racism, and social conditioning. Aaron introduces his “Touch Plan” framework, starting with deep listening, grounding practices, singing, and gradually introducing platonic touch with consent and presence. This conversation also touches on the role of culture, history, and collective healing, highlighting Aaron's retreats, workshops, and films, including Dark and Tender, which documents men of African descent rediscovering tenderness, connection, and emotional expression. The conversation highlights how nurturing physical and emotional connection can support holistic wellness, resilience, and collective empowerment. In this episode of Life Equals Choices, Choices Equal Life, Kim Olver welcomes Angela Maiers, globally recognized educator, author, and founder of the Choose to Matter movement. Together, they explore the deep science and human truth behind mattering—the fundamental need to be seen, valued, and needed.Angela shares how the movement began unexpectedly after her TED Talk and how it evolved into a worldwide call to action, led by young people who want to make a difference in their communities. Drawing on neuroscience and real-world research, she explains that the drive to matter is biologically programmed—essential for both survival and flourishing—and describes the transformative effects of mattering on education, leadership, and well-being.Through powerful stories and research insights, Kim and Angela discuss the difference between self-worth and self-esteem, why feeling needed fuels purpose and resilience, and how children intuitively understand what many adults have forgotten: that everyone has unique value to offer. This conversation challenges listeners to reclaim their innate worth and to create spaces where others feel they belong, contribute, and truly matter.Learn more about Angela's work, her book, and the Choose to Matter movement at https://angelamaiers.com/.

Bradley gets a Windy City on-the-ground report from friend and colleague Bob Greenlee, which leads to a bleak read on national politics: even if Democrats gain in 2026, the realities of executive power and a thin bench mean that little changes. Bradley then unveils a major milestone for mobile voting—Free & Fair's open-source, rigorously engineered cryptographic protocol, arguing that transparency invites tougher verification and faster improvement. They then pivot to city governance trade-offs in New York and Chicago (flight of the affluent, public safety, unions, deficits), stressing that execution and pragmatism — not ideology — will make or break new mayors. Finally, they debate leveraging Trump's Israel deal and his Nobel ambitions toward Ukraine, then land on Bradley's “grand synthesis”: amid real doomsday risks, personal happiness is still within reach...if we build our lives around love and purpose.Discussed on today's episode:Rigorous Digital Engineering: The Bedrock For Secure Mobile Voting by Bradley Tusk (10/09/25)This episode was taped at P&T Knitwear at 180 Orchard Street — New York City's only free podcast recording studio.Send us an email with your thoughts on today's episode: info@firewall.media.Be sure to watch Bradley's new TED Talk on Mobile Voting at https://go.ted.com/bradleytusk.

We are delighted to welcome the inspiring Sepideh Eivazi as our guest today. Sepideh is on a mission to move everyone she encounters, leaving them changed and feeling seen. She is a 2025 inductee of the Smart Meetings Hall of Fame, a Smart Speaker, a 40 Under 40 honoree, and a 2025 Meetings Today Trendsetter. Her powerful TED Talk, Breath as an Act of Rebellion, has inspired audiences around the world. She joins us today to share her journey and insights. This information is for educational purposes only and is not medical advice. Consult a qualified healthcare provider before using any plant medicine Sepideh's Journey Sepideh Eivazi grew up in Iran, navigating a life constrained by societal and political limitations. At the age of 20, she moved to the United States with her younger sister in search of freedom and opportunity. Starting from scratch, she worked in hospitality in Las Vegas, learning about the event industry from the ground up, embracing mentorship, and observing inspiring and cautionary examples of leadership. Eventually, she relocated to Los Angeles, where she joined Elevated Meeting Solutions and later launched her own wellness platform, Dawn of the Earth, which integrates tea culture, somatic breathwork, nervous system regulation, and psychedelic integration practices. Her work focuses on conscious leadership, healing trauma, and empowering others, bridging both Eastern and Western wellness traditions. Freedom and Feminism Sepideh shares the challenges Iranian women face under restrictive societal norms, particularly the compulsory wearing of a veil. She emphasizes the importance of personal choice, freedom, and human qualities over appearance or imposed rules. Singing as Healing and Expression Reclaiming her voice through singing became an emotional and symbolic act of empowerment, connecting Sepideh to her heritage and generations of suppressed women in Iran. She views singing as both a personal healing practice and a form of standing for those who cannot freely express themselves. Mentorship and Community Sepideh credits several mentors and supportive figures for her growth. She emphasizes the importance of showing up for others, paying support forward, and nurturing a sense of community. Leading Beyond Burnout Burnout is a result of prolonged stress, fight, flight, freeze responses, and neglecting emotional and physical health. Sepideh utilizes somatic breathwork to help leaders and employees regulate their nervous systems, process suppressed emotions, and create safe spaces for vulnerability and healing. She explains that burnout is preventable when organizations and individuals prioritize conscious, holistic self-care. Plant Medicine and Integration Sepideh views plant medicine as a tool for mental health and emotional integration, highlighting it as a catalyst for self-awareness rather than a recreational high. She works with clients to integrate insights from plant medicine into daily life, cultivating emotional intelligence, forgiveness, and presence. Her approach combines body awareness, somatic practices, and intentional reflections. Performance, Presence, and Ritual In high-performance industries, constant productivity and measurement can undermine confidence and well-being. Sepideh advocates rituals and presence-based practices, such as mindful breathing, sensory activation, and slowing down during daily activities, to reconnect with oneself and cultivate sustainable performance without anxiety or self-judgment. Future Vision and Celebration Sepideh measures success through progress and the ability to give back to humanity. She values learning, growth, and curiosity over rigid goals or timelines, viewing each step forward as a meaningful achievement for herself and others. The verdict on climate change is bleaker than ever before. The remaining carbon budget to limit global warming to 1.5°C is rapidly shrinking – equivalent to just three years of emissions at current rates. What is the scientific framework known as planetary boundaries? What's science telling us about the economic impact of climate change? And how is the ECB addressing climate and nature-related risks? Our host Paul Gordon speaks to Johan Rockström, Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, and Irene Heemskerk, head of the ECB's climate change centre, to find out why. The views expressed are those of the speakers and not necessarily those of the European Central Bank. Recorded on 8 October 2025 and published on 14 October 2025. In this episode: 01:48 Where do we stand in the fight against climate change? What is science telling us? What could get us back on track? 05:58 Is climate change attracting enough attention? Is it being overshadowed by other challenges, like the war in Ukraine or geopolitical fragmentation? How is climate change connected to the economy? And what level of risk are we facing? 10:30 What are planetary boundaries? What is the planetary boundaries framework? 14:50 The phases of climate change How has global warming evolved over time? Are we heading for disaster? Is the 1.5°C threshold a goal or a limit? 19:15 Why is our economy dependent on climate change? Why do climate insights matter to the work of a central bank? How does the ECB take climate change into account? What risks does climate change pose to our primary mandate, price stability? And is it too late for us to take action? 23:03 What is the “right pace” for transitioning to a carbon-neutral economy? How can we balance the need for rapid change with economic interests ? 26:15 Does every step matter? What's needed for an orderly transition? What progress has been made in recent years, and what decisions could accelerate it further? 31:55 Our guests' hot tips Johan and Irene share their hot tips. Matt Stoller, author of the Substack newsletter BIG, joins Bradley to dig into how the rise of AI mirrors the early internet—when regulators failed to check the dominance of Google, Facebook, and others. Stoller argues that America's political elites, especially under Obama, confused “freedom from restriction” with “freedom from mastery,” enabling corporate monopolies to become de facto rulers of public life. Without decisive policy intervention, he warns, AI will consolidate under the same few tech giants—most likely Google—and deepen the country's oligarchic tendencies. This episode was taped at P&T Knitwear at 180 Orchard Street — New York City's only free podcast recording studio.Send us an email with your thoughts on today's episode: info@firewall.media.Be sure to watch Bradley's new TED Talk on Mobile Voting at https://go.ted.com/bradleytusk.Subscribe to Bradley's weekly newsletter and follow Bradley on Linkedin + Substack + YouTube.

Equal parts mind-blowing, funny, and a little existential — just another day on Unscriptify.

How can AI really help advance medicine? Should patients and care teams be seeking second opinions from LLMs? This week, Reid and Aria sit down with physician-scientist Dr. David Fajgenbaum, who repurposes existing drugs to save lives—including his own. David shares his journey from receiving last rites as a young medical student to co-founding Every Cure, a nonprofit using AI to come up with ways existing drugs can be repurposed to treat every disease and every patient possible. On this special episode, filmed live in New York City, David, Reid, and Aria explore the circuit of hope, action, and impact that drives medical discovery; the technical and ethical challenges around accelerating AI in healthcare; “agent optimization” as the new “search engine optimization;” and what a future of faster diagnoses and treatment could look like. The result is a conversation about resilience, innovation, and unlocking cures that are already within our reach. This week on The Power of Community & Collaboration Podcast I speak with Kristina McKean about The Elephant Project in Thailand. We discuss her love for animals and how it inspired her to start this amazing project that has saved thousands of elephants and now cats and dogs as well. This is a thought provoking conversation that will hopefully deter you from riding elephants when you learn about what those poor animals have to endure at the hands of humans who want to break their spirit. I also suspect that listening to Kristina, who is a great role model for how powerful one person can be, will inspire you to tap into your own leadership energy so that you can find your own way to make a difference and contribute to community. The upside of being your own boss is pretty clear, says Bradley, it's your tolerance for the downside that really is the deciding factor. In this episode of Restauranttopia, the crew dives deep into culture — not just within your restaurant walls, but in every corner of your business ecosystem. Inspired by Cameron Mitchell's book Yes is the Answer. What's the Question?, Dave, Brian, and Anthony unpack how a restaurant's mission and culture extend to employees, guests, purveyors, investors, and the community. From the dangers of ignoring toxic high performers to the power of making vendors raving fans, this conversation highlights practical strategies and real-life stories that restaurant operators can implement today. They also touch on hospitality “moments” like the milkshake story and a surprising Diet Coke lesson that reveal why “yes” should always be the answer. Whether you're an owner, manager, or aspiring operator, this episode challenges you to think about culture as the fuel that sustains success, loyalty, and long-term profitability. Key Talking Points Why mission statements actually matter (Hillcrest Foods' example: Love the employee and customer for a lifetime loyalty). The four core questions Cameron Mitchell asked himself when starting his restaurant group: Who are we? What do we want to be? Why are we in business? What is our role? The five groups every restaurant must make “raving fans”: employees, guests, purveyors, investors, communities. Vendor relationships: shifting from adversaries to partners. The real cost of keeping a toxic high performer. Stories of hospitality in action: the milkshake story, the Diet Coke moment, and splitting checks in Vegas. Culture lessons from Margaret Heffernan's TED Talk on the “super chickens” problem. Hiring and onboarding tips: the five traits Hillcrest looks for (great human being, likability, life-change potential, long-term fit, fun & competitive). Derek Champagne talks with Dr. Scott Hutcheson, author of Biohacking Leadership. Scott Hutcheson, PhD is a biosocial scientist and senior lecturer at Purdue University, where his teaching, research, and professional practice centers on leadership, team, and organizational performance through the lens of the biology of behavior. His work in biosocial sciences explores how biological systems interact with social behavior to shape how we lead, collaborate, and adapt. Dr. Hutcheson brings this perspective to leaders and organizations navigating complex, fast-changing environments. A personal health diagnosis several years ago deepened his professional interest in the biology of behavior. After being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, Dr. Hutchesonturned to biohacking—using data, behavior change, and biological feedback loops—to manage the disease. That lived experience sparked a powerful insight: the sameprinciples that optimize the body can optimize leadership. This became the foundation of his current work: applying biohacking principles to how leaders signal presence, build trust, and create conditions for collective success. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Hutcheson has worked with hundreds of organizations across industry, higher education, and the public and nonprofit sectors. His clients have included the White House, Fortune 400 companies, startups, and rural communities helping them address challenges related to competitiveness, innovation, sustainability, and public health. His impact is global, having worked with more than 4,000 leaders from 147 countries. He is the author of numerous academic articles and essays, and his 2019 release, Strategic Doing: Ten Skills for Agile Leadership (Wiley), became a #1 Amazon New Release in six categories and appeared on multiple Best Business Book lists. His next project is a three-book series with Wiley on the biodynamics of leadership, teams, and organizations. Dr. Hutcheson is also a columnist for Forbes where his articles are read by millions. He ranks in Forbes top 0.1% in readership. Dr. Hutcheson is a sought-after speaker, delivering keynotes and workshops around the world. His TED Talk on the “Science of Prospection” has been viewed more than 1.3 million times, and his Instagram account, @bookscotttospeak, has nearly 40,000 followers. He and his wife Lisa Hutcheson, a mental health policy leader and co-founder of Hutcheson Associates, live near Indianapolis in the historic Town of Ulen with their twodogs, Pippa and Cosette. Brené Brown is a researcher, storyteller, and author who hosts the podcast Dare to Lead and has given some of the most popular TED Talks of all time. Brené joins Adam live at Authors@Wharton to talk about her new book, Strong Ground. They discuss how to identify your core values, what courageous leadership looks like, and whether vulnerability has gained popularity. They also address the problems with “executive presence,” compare notes on how to have hard conversations and set boundaries, debate the merits of the “tush push,” and reflect on what Brené learned from working with FBI hostage negotiators.
