My guest today is Keith Nester, a former pastor who spent over 20 years in ministry—until one verse changed everything. When he heard Jesus say in Matthew 26:26, “This is my body,” he knew it wasn't symbolic. Embracing that truth meant losing his ministry, his income, and nearly his marriage. He resisted at first, but as liberalism overtook his denomination, he realized only Church tradition could stand firm. Today, Keith helps others find their way home. His mission: unite Christians in truth and reignite a deep love for scripture and Christ's teachings. He's living proof that following truth is worth everything.NEW: Join our exclusive Rose Report community! https://lilaroseshow.supercast.com - We'll have BTS footage, ad-free episodes, monthly AMA, and early access to our upcoming guests.A big thanks to our partner, EWTN, the world's leading Catholic network! In this week's episode guest host Keith Nester, Executive Director of Down To Earth Ministries, discusses the reality of the resurrection and our doubts and fears as he opens up the Gospel of John 20:19-31. John 20:19-31 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you." When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you." And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained." Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples said to him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nailmarks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe." Now a week later his disciples were again inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood in their midst and said, "Peace be with you." Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe." Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said to him, "Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed." Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples that are not written in this book. But these are written that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that through this belief you may have life in his name.

For those who were a part of it, the Christian music underground in the 1990's and 2000's was hugely formative. It was a hotbed of creative musical expression, but it was also an intense marketplace of ideas. As a result, through Tooth and Nail Records, Cornerstone Festival, and a number of other venues, it changed the lives of countless Christian kids. Almost 70% say they personally believe that during Catholic Mass, the bread and wine used in Communion “are symbols of the body and blood of Jesus Christ.” Just one-third of U.S. Catholics (31%) say they believe that “during Mass, the bread and wine actually become the body and blood of Jesus.” To counter this tragic finding, the Bishops of the United States are calling for a three-year grassroots revival of devotion and belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. They believe that God wants to see a movement of Catholics across the United States, healed, converted, formed, and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist—and sent out in mission “for the life of the world.” To do our part, we are holding The True Presence Summit for Catholics around the world! Hosting the Heroic Men Summit: The True Presence will be Eddie Trask, host of the YouTube channel Catholic Re.Con. He will interview Catholic converts as they share how the power of the Eucharist led them to Catholicism. CCC 1324: The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life."134 "The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself. "Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me" - John 6:54-57 St. Alphonsus Liguori: "Do not think that Jesus Christ is forgetful of you, since he has left you, as the greatest memorial and pledge of his love, himself in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar." Pope Francis: "Every time we receive him (Jesus in the Eucarist), he reminds us that we are precious, that we are guests he has invited to his banquet, friends with whom he wants to dine. And not only because he is generous, but because he is truly in love with us. He sees and loves the beauty and goodness that we are." ---- If you would like to share your Catholic Christian testimony on Catholic Re.Con., please fill out the form here: https://bit.ly/3bdE6pr --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/eddie-trask/support

In this episode of The Cordial Catholic, we've reassembled our popular panel of converts from our discussion on Sola Scriptura (in Episode 66) to talk about the other famous Protestant "sola," Sola Fide – the idea that Christians are saved "by faith alone." Joined by Matt Swaim and Keith Nester, we discuss what Sola Fide means, how it's understood differently in different denominations, how we wrestled with it, and ultimately, how it isn't all that different from a Catholic understanding of salvation anyway. It's a fantastic discussion, a real deep dive, into our experiences trying to understand the Christian faith through a "faith alone" lens, and why we all eventually became Catholic. For more from Keith Nester visit his website and check out his fantastic new book, A Convert's Guide to Roman Catholicism: Your First Year in the Church. In this episode of The Cordial Catholic, I'm joined by former Protestant pastor Keith Nester and author and speaker Devin Schadt to discuss the process of Catholic conversion from two sides of the same story. In a first for this podcast we unfold the narrative of a Catholic conversion–Keith's conversion, in this case–from two different perspectives; from the perspective of the Catholic loving and practising and sharing their faith, and from the side of the skeptical Protestant doing the exact same thing on the other end. You'll hear how these two friends journeyed together, how they used apologetics, how they argued and debated and nearly got arrested one time, but how the Holy Spirit ultimately used Devin's witness, and their friendship, to convince Keith of the truth of the ancient Catholic faith. It is an incredible story and a real privilege to share it with you. I often share my testimony of my return to the Catholic faith. This week Keith Nester joins me and we have a great discussion about both of our conversions. Keith was raised a United Methodist pastors kid and became a pastor himself. As he became more engaged in his faith he encountered a number of Catholics who showed him the true beauty of the Catholic faith. Keith became inundated with books, videos, and other material that simply blew his mind. Catholicism got him and he eventually converted to the Catholic faith. Once he abandoned himself he was locked into that wave, ready for the ride of his life. I love this guy and can't wait for you to hear how he has totally sold out his heart for Jesus!
