Elements Electric is a brand new label out of Dublin, Ireland being brought to life with the latest release from acclaimed local producer Peter Sweeney aka Rustal (393 Records, Diffuse Reality). Heart Drives The Machine is the name of this aptly titled 4-tracker. This is an expansive techno record that touches on acid, electro, house and the aforementioned techno, all of it heavily imbued with influences from the American midwest, most notably Detroit - maintaining the long running connection between the Irish capital and the home of techno. On opener Celestial Flame, Sweeney pitch-bends the acid as hard-hitting syncopated drums bring things back to earth with a gritty thump. Love Not Lost takes a more direct approach to 303-infused deep techno as soaring keys in the background make sure the soul of the machines is never far away as the song continues to ascend. Motor City Man is a fitting title for a song that mainlines a classic 90s Detroit house organ riff over propulsive drums; reminiscent of D1 Recordings at its peak, it's a ready-to-build floor filler if ever there was one. The EP closes on a reflective note with Aurora Lake, as a teasing acid line subtly sits over nostalgic synths, gently pirouetting together into the ether… Peter Sweeney ---------------------- SC: @rustal FB: www.facebook.com/rustaltechno IG: www.instagram.com/rustal_dub/ Four Four Magazine --------------------------- FB: www.facebook.com/FOURFOURDANCE/ IG: www.instagram.com/fourfourmagazine/ Web: www.fourfourmag.com/

In this episode of Money Tales our guest is Rachel Donnelly. When she was a young adult, Rachel's mom was diagnosed with cancer and passed away a couple of weeks later. Rachel's dad had previously died, so along with dealing with the shock and emotions, Rachel was probating her mom's estate. She was also stepping into her mother's shoes by taking care of her uncle, who was in the later stages of Parkinson's disease. This meant even more logistics of getting the power of attorney, healthcare proxy, and other legal documents in place for her uncle. Rachel tells us she remembers standing in the parking lot of a bank after trying to set up an estate banking account after her uncle died and wondering why someone wasn't available to help her manage this incredible dumpster fire. This got Rachel's entrepreneurial blood flowing and inspired her to start a business. Rachel is a driven and compassionate entrepreneur who has used her personal experiences to create meaningful change for others. After enduring several losses, including the death of her parents, she founded AfterLight (formerly Black Dress Consultants), a business that assists clients in managing the administrative tasks associated with legacy planning and after loss. Her goal is to enable clients to focus on healing in grief and getting back to the things that really matter after a loss. Rachel is also the co-founder of Professionals of After Loss Services (PALS), a training and support network for industry professionals who offer services to individuals and families after the loss of a loved one. This industry organization has been instrumental in enhancing the quality of services available to those coping with loss. Before starting AfterLight, Rachel worked in higher education fundraising for several institutions, including Agnes Scott College, Emory University, and Georgia Institute of Technology. Rachel is a proud alumna of Agnes Scott College, where she earned her degree. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Love Not Lost, a non-profit organization based in Atlanta that provides grief tools and free photography sessions for families facing terminal diagnoses. Rachel is also a member of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council. Rachel resides in Atlanta with her husband Zack and their two children. She is dedicated to her family and her community and continues to make a positive impact through her work.

Ashley Jones is the founder and executive director of Love Not Lost, a nonprofit on a mission to revolutionize how we heal in grief. The organization supports grieving families by connecting photographers to document memories with their loved ones. Training and resources are also available to help all of us know what to say and do to support others who are grieving. So many times, we run from grief. It's uncomfortable, and no one wants to go there. This powerful interview is worth a listen. It will open your heart to learn how to have those difficult conversations. You'll hear about the importance of words we use when we talk about grieving and death. Love Not Lost is also seeking photographers from across the U.S. who are interested in supporting this work. Episode #257 Welcome Back to Part 2 of Ken's Interview with Ashley Jones. About Ashley: Ashley's life purpose is to help people heal. She uses her advanced analytical abilities to link the known with the unknown to trigger major paradigm shifts. Clemson University did an incredible job preparing her for her career, but it could've never prepared her for what life had in store next. After working as a designer for printing and web development companies, Ashley decided to start her own business. Ashley's husband and herself were surprised by the pregnancy but were excited to be young parents. A month after their daughter was born, they found out she had a terminal genetic condition (SMA type 1) and would likely not see her first birthday. Ashley became Skylar's full-time mom and caregiver, and she loved every second of it. She was the greatest joy, and Ashley was so grateful for the time they had together. When she died at 21 months old, Ashley knew she would need something to get her out of bed, so she started her own companies - one for portrait and wedding photography and one for corporate photography and branding/design. Anytime Ashley heard of someone facing a terminal diagnosis, she volunteered to do a free portrait session. Most people took her up on it; amazing stories of impact came out of each session and the prints/books she would give people. Ashley's husband lovingly reminded her they had bills to pay, and she couldn't keep giving everything away, and Ashley agreed. But she also knew this was important, meaningful work that needed to continue without charging families who were suffering. Ashley believed she could find other people to join her in giving it all away and formed a non-profit with a vision to scale to a national level and serve people everywhere. Love Not Lost was born (www.lovenotlost.org). Since then, it's been an incredible journey of growth, impact, and love as their mission has evolved to revolutionize the way we heal in grief. Ashley is continually blown away by people's generosity and excited to support people around the world through their tools and resources. Ashley especially enjoys speaking to groups of people through online summits, keynote presentations, corporate workshops, and local events like Creative Mornings and TEDxChattanooga. John Anthony has been a lifelong performer, but he only began to study acting in 2014 after auditing a class in Dallas TX. His previous experience prepared him well though, given John spent time on stage with the Improv Comedy troupe Comedy Sportz, based in Dallas. He committed his time and effort to delving deeper after that initial class, and he has never looked back. John considers himself fortunate to having studied under these amazing artists: Michelle Condrey, Jackie Burch, and Glenn Morshower.Rather than choosing an existing movie scene to recreate in his classes, John took the road less traveled and wrote his own scene as an experiment. That was all it took to be bitten by the writing bug and bring the stories in his mind to life. Since taking that first leap in class performing original material, John has written and acted in more than fifteen short films, authored two screen plays with more ideas just waiting to be narrated in a script. Both his writing and acting have been laureled in multiple film festivals, including the Platinum Award for Best Actor in The Independent Movie Awards (Los Angeles, CA) and the Bronze Award for Best Drama for his short film “A Love Not Lost”. “A Family Matter”, “Rookies”, “Swimmers”, and his first film “A Gift” have been recognized with various awards and accolades.John's career branched out in recent years having booked local and national commercials with these companies: Ready Seal, Inc., H-E-B Grocery Company, LP, and Ambetter Insurance. Don't be surprised when you hear his voice in advertisements, given he has booked some voice over spots too. When he isn't acting, writing, or directing, John enjoys working out and spending time with his family. He credits his wife, Anne, to be his biggest supporter. But be on the look out for his dog, Hank, who makes a cameo appearance in nearly every short film. You can reach out to John Anthony here:https://www.jdafilm.com/You can listen to it on any podcast platform @wake up with KCLike and subscribe and follow me on instagram @wakeupwithkcWebsite: https://www.wakeupwithkc.com/Jewelry provided by: Pretty Bling Boutiquehttps://www.facebook.com/prettyblingboutique/Makeup provided by:https://farmasius.com/kcgingerMedia Manager: Steven Joiner : stevesjnetwork@gmail.comLogo created by: Eden Fritz AguiarProducer & Marketing Dir, Clovercrest MediaOpener created by: Zachary LaPlantCMG | Social Media Manager| Chief Video Editor

Everything gets hard at some point. There are just different types of hard. Physically, it's hard to work out, and it's hard to navigate a failing body. Relationally, there's the difficulty of uncomfortable conversations or the challenge of fractured relationships. Professionally, we can lead ourselves and our teams through the obstacles of just growing the bottom line or also solving problems that matter. Our opportunity is to choose our version of hard, so the effort put into our work and career is for something that matters. In this episode, Ashley Jones of Love Not Lost shares how she discovered a problem worth solving. However, this conversation also reveals principles we can use to do the same.
In the words of the Love Not Lost Founder & Executive Director... "After losing our daughter, Skylar, to a terminal condition, grief and depression hit me hard. The pictures we had of our family created a safe space for me to grieve and gave me permission to be whatever I needed to be in that moment. The tangible prints provided comfort, a way to carry on a relationship with my daughter, and allowed me to hold Skylar when she wasn't here to hold." A truly powerful & compelling story...
Ashley Jones is an incredible individual. The vision Ashley Jones had as the Founder of Love Not Lost came from her personal and heart-breaking story. Having a daughter with a terminal illness, and being gifted portrait sessions, Ashley wanted to pay it forward and started offering free portrait sessions to anyone she met with a terminal diagnosis. As she donated more and more sessions, she realized that something greater was taking shape. As this shape was forming into a non-profit, Ashley asked three key friends to join her on theboard of directors, whom she knew would have not only the talent, but more importantly, the heart, to get Love Not Lost off the ground with her. Since then, their board, staff, volunteers, and their collective heart to serve has continued to grow. Ashley and the team at Love Not Lost are on a mission to revolutionize the way we grieve in America. They started by photographing people facing a terminal diagnosis to capture beautiful memories for those they love. Through their photography program, they give each family a hand-crafted custom-designed photo album with the best photos from their session to enjoy and pass along as a legacy. As they photographed more and more families, they kept hearing similar stories: sometimes they were the only ones showing up. Friends, family, communities were disappearing leaving these people feeling alone, unloved, and abandoned by the ones they thought they could count on for support. As Ashley would speak at events, people would continually come up to her saying things like, “My co-worker just lost a baby, what do I do?” or “My friend's dad just died, how can I support them?” They saw a community of people who wanted to help and show up for the people they loved who were hurting but they didn't know how. This inspired them to launch their community support program as well as their corporate care program. You can see some of the Grief & Empathy Tools they've created to help equip and empower people to support their loved ones in grief, but there's more on the way! Discussion Topics Ashley's backstory of founding Love Not Lost from the tragic loss of her daughter. How the fundamental question of “how can we love people better?” influences Ashley's leadership decisions and team's mission. How Love Not Lost evolved into providing corporate care programs geared towards helping leaders with grief and empathy tools in the workplace. Ways in which leaders can serve their team members when dealing with traumatic events in their lives like grieving loved ones. On today’s episode, I’m happy to introduce you to Ashley Jones, the founder of the Love Not Lost Foundation. Ashley shares with us her incredible story of what it was like to lose a very young child to a terminal illness, and how that experience changed her forever, in ways that she did not expect. The way that she describes how her love for her daughter Skylar now has no boundaries and has expanded out into the world is so beautiful and inspiring. What she experienced personally, and also as she began to support others, is that the old definition of grief and the language we use to talk about death and loss are not actually very helpful. In an effort to revolutionize grief and how we support those that are grieving, she created the Love Not Lost Foundation. During this conversation, Ashley shares her own experience of grief and how she has reentered this new life. She realized that no one had taught her how to grieve or given her any realistic expectation of what it would actually feel like. She felt that there are no clearly defined stages of grief, but that it is a fluid and ever changing experience that shifts with us throughout our lives. We speak about how the old model of grief shows up in the workplace and with our family and friends. Things like getting creative with how managers support employees who are experiencing loss, the importance of language and the words we say and things we do trying to support people but often creating more pain or a feeling of dismissal. If you are a manager or CEO in a company, I encourage you to listen to this episode, or share it with someone that is. “So often we see death as the enemy, but the enemy is actually disconnection. We want to disconnect from ourselves and each other in our grief, but really that’s the opposite of what we should be doing.” ~ Ashley Jones Ashley also speaks about what led her to begin offering portrait sessions to families experiencing a terminal diagnosis, and how that evolved into creating an entire non-profit organization that now supports both families that are grieving and also those that want to offer help and love but may not know how. In this last year, we have all experienced various levels of loss and trauma and it’s important for us to support each other where we’re able and to ensure that the ways in which we attempt to provide support actually has the impact we are hoping for. There is a bigger need than ever for workplaces and organizations to remember the humanness of their employees and to acknowledge what people are going through. Ashley wants everyone to know that grief is a very unique and specific experience for each of us. I’d love to hear what you take away from this conversation and what you think about how Ashley is redefining how we grieve and support those in grief as well. To heal you have to feel it and to feel it you have to be present with it. When Ashley Jones’s infant daughter Skylar was diagnosed with SMA (spinal muscular atrophy), she wasn’t unfamiliar with grief, but she had no idea how Skylar’s illness and death would propel her into a new world of supporting others. What started as a photo session for a family grieving the death of their baby, has grown into Love Not Lost, a non-profit that provides free portrait sessions for families facing a terminal illness. Love Not Lost also offers tools and training for family, friends, and employers who want to provide useful support to those they care about. There is a cliche saying that says, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” I know we hear it all the time, but really, have you ever thought about the priceless value of an image? I don’t like to think that I have regrets in life, but there is one regret that I have. To be honest with you, it sticks me with every day, and that is that I have very few photos of my mother and I together, in my teenage years. I have looked and looked, and there are little to no picture of just my mother and I in the few years before she died, and I hate that. It’s one of the reasons that I take so many pictures of my kids and it’s one of the reasons that I say, “sorry, not sorry,” when I ask people to take pictures of me and my kids together. Pictures are so valuable when you’ve lost someone that you love, because it’s the only physical thing that you have to remember them by, where you can see them, and feel the emotion behind that image. Today’s guest realized the value of an image in the most unimaginable way possible. THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE OF SKYLAR Ashley shares the inspiration behind the start of Love Not Lost, the life of her daughter Skylar. At around 2 months, Skylar was diagnosed with SMA, a disease that she was told would take her daughter’s life before the age of 1 year old. Thanks to an SMA researcher, the Jones’ family had 21 months with their daughter. After her passing, photographs were what helped Ashley through the grieving process, and so she wanted to provide that same resource for those approaching the loss of a loved one. CAPTURING THE LIVES OF OTHERS Love Not Lost was brought to life on November 19, 2015, what would’ve been Skylar’s 4th Birthday. Ashley asked her friends and family to come together support her vision for providing photography to families approaching a loss, so that they’d have memories to cherish long after their loved one had passed. LOVING OTHERS DURING HARD TIMES Molly and Ashley discuss how difficult it can be to approach a friend or family member who has lost a loved one, and what you can do to love them where they are. Love Not Lost provides incredible resources for those looking to support their loved ones through hard times. How does Tom "compete" with a market flooded with self-proclaimed photographers? How does he generate clients? What activities & organizations generate leads, then paying clients? What remarkably simple practice does Tom use to stay "top of mind" when a company needs a Photographer? Tom and I role-play common sales objections. Tom explains his career pivot.
