Send us a textAshley Jones, Legislative Chair for Moms for Liberty South Carolina, pulls back the curtain on the systematic undermining of parental authority happening in our schools and healthcare systems. With remarkable clarity, she reveals how COVID became the catalyst that exposed government overreach into family decision-making across America."During COVID, people started asking questions," Jones explains. "All the crazy made sense because now everybody sees it. It's not hidden in the dark anymore." This awakening led to the formation of Moms for Liberty, which has exploded to nearly 300 chapters nationwide with approximately 100,000 members since its 2021 founding.Jones shares alarming discoveries of explicit material in elementary schools, including biological picture books with inappropriate imagery accessible to seven-year-olds and books detailing suicide methods. "We do not loan our children to the schools," she assertively states. "We expect them to be taught reading, writing, arithmetic, history and come home for the morals and values."The digital landscape presents perhaps the greatest modern threat to children. As a grandmother raising her eight-year-old granddaughter, Jones speaks passionately about the dangers lurking online that many parents remain completely unaware of. Her organization is tackling this head-on with an upcoming Technology Safety conference in Columbia on August 16th.Legislative victories are accumulating through Moms for Liberty's persistent advocacy – from school choice initiatives to healthier school lunches free from harmful dyes. Looking ahead, they're fighting for fundamental parental rights legislation, particularly addressing the shocking reality that in South Carolina, parents can be legally barred from accessing their 14-year-old's medical records if the child objects.Ready to protect your parental authority? Episode Summary In this episode of the First Responder Wellness Podcast, Conrad Weaver talks with Ashley Jones — a seasoned police officer and empowerment coach — as she shares her deeply personal journey through law enforcement and mental health challenges faced by first responders. Ashley opens up about the illusion of brotherhood in the field, the critical need for vulnerability training, and the urgent lack of mental health support in police departments. With a mission to empower others, Ashley highlights the value of self-reflection, coaching, and leadership that prioritizes well-being. Her story is one of resilience, growth, and purpose — aiming to inspire first responders to recognize their worth and become their own advocates. Key Topics Covered Ashley's career as a police officer and transition into empowerment coaching The emotional toll of law enforcement and the lack of authentic support Why vulnerability and emotional intelligence are vital in the field The role of personal accountability in mental health and personal growth Challenges in leadership and organizational culture within policing The transformative power of coaching for first responders Ashley's future goals, including writing a workbook and book to further her mission Top Takeaways Vulnerability training is essential in law enforcement for building authentic support systems. The "brotherhood" concept in policing often lacks depth and true emotional support. Personal growth starts with self-reflection, accountability, and a willingness to do the work. Mental health resources are severely lacking for first responders — this needs to change. Ashley calls for stronger, more empathetic leadership in police departments. Self-advocacy is crucial; no one will fight for your well-being like you will. Coaching can provide first responders with tools and clarity to manage stress and trauma. Ashley is currently working on a workbook and a book tailored to the unique needs of first responders. Her mission is to empower others to take control of their mental health journey. Timestamps: (7:57) - Poisoning Cases In this episode of the True Crime Society Podcast, we discuss two cases where men were possibly drugged to death by women. Sports reporter Adan Manzano (27) was found dead with no signs of trauma in his New Orleans hotel room in February 2025. Adan had been in the city to cover the upcoming Super Bowl. When police began investigating, they discovered Adan was last seen with a female ‘career criminal,' Danette Colbert. Danette has a history of drugging and robbing men. It was discovered that Danette used Adan's credit card after his death. His cause of death is still pending with the Medical Examiner. Indiana man Harold Allen died in 2022 from what was initially thought to be natural causes. It was only after his step-daughter, Ashley Jones, staged a robbery that his death was investigated. It came to light that Harold was likely poisoned to death with ethylene glycol by his wife Marsha and Ashley. The women tried multiple times to kill Harold with varying substances before they were successful. After Marsha was questioned by police, she took her own life. Ashley is currently awaiting trial. Ashley Jones, CEO of the Memento Foundation, knows firsthand the depths of grief and the incredible journey to finding purpose within it. After the devastating loss of her daughter to spinal muscular atrophy, Ashley transformed her anguish into a lifelong mission to support families grappling with terminal illnesses. In our conversation, Ashley shares how her unique background in science and creative fields equipped her to revolutionize the way society handles grief, offering free services and workplace training that foster empathy and understanding. Her story is a powerful reminder of how pain, when confronted with courage, can lead to profound healing and growth. We discuss the essential yet challenging practice of "sitting in the suck" of grief, a concept that encourages facing discomfort head-on to truly heal. Our society often avoids pain, opting instead for distractions, but Ashley emphasizes that embracing grief can unlock our innate ability to self-heal. Drawing on trauma-informed approaches, we explore how listening to our bodies can guide us through emotional recovery, challenging outdated grief models and advocating for an authentic connection with our emotions. Ashley introduces initiatives like community support and corporate care programs, designed to bridge societal gaps in empathy and grief education.Leadership is redefined through the lens of compassion and mindfulness as we explore the qualities that make for truly impactful leaders. Ashley and I discuss how connecting with our emotions, as well as understanding unprocessed grief, can enhance resilience and empathy, preventing burnout. We also delve into the transformative potential of trauma-informed care and the vital role of connection in overcoming trauma and grief. As we conclude, we celebrate the power of compassionate leadership and the ongoing journey of healing, urging leaders and individuals to embrace their emotional landscapes with courage and love.To connect with Ashely and Her Work, use these links:https://www.linkedin.com/in/ashleynicolejones/https://www.momentofoundation.org/ ashley@lovenotlost.orgUnfazed Under Fire Podcast - Host: David Craig Utts, Leadership Alchemist Access to all our platforms:https://www.unfazedunderfirepodcast.online

There's hopes new legislation helps ease the often rocky path of divorce for abuse victims. A bill passed by Parliament means survivors can end their marriages if they have a protection order against their spouse. The Bill's nicknamed 'Ashley's Law', and is championed by Ashley Jones. Jones told Mike Hosking she didn't expect it to be passed unanimously, and can't believe she was fundamental in changing a law. She said it's a huge reminder that one voice can make a change, and if you fight hard enough you can change things you think are not right. In a chilling case out of Indiana, court documents reveal that a mother-daughter duo meticulously plotted a fatal poisoning scheme that took five attempts and three different substances to succeed. Harold "Peanut" Allen, 52, succumbed to ethylene glycol poisoning after months of torment at the hands of his wife, Marsha Allen, 52, and her daughter, Ashley Jones, 30. The two are suspected of trying to gain access to his retirement money and savings What initially appeared as a sudden death on Dec. 20, 2022, was anything but, as law enforcement now alleges the plot began months earlier with failed attempts using ancient, natural poisons such as cerberin from pong pong seeds and water hemlock. The pair allegedly ground up toxic pong pong seeds and laced brownies with the poison, sending Allen to the emergency room in late November. Court documents stated, “It should be noted that Marsha (Allen) sends (Jones) a photo message of what appears to be Harold (Allen) on November 26th. In the photo, there is a half-eaten brownie on a paper plate sitting on Harold's stomach. Harold became sick after eating the brownie and ended up in the emergency room the next day.” In a text message to her daughter, Marsha Allen said, “I am irritated and can't sleep peacefully. I need this to be over … I wish it would reach its climax and be done lol.” Jones allegedly replied: “Agreed.” Undeterred by his survival, they then tried to poison him with water hemlock in various foods, again failing to end his life. However, Harold Allen did not succumb to hemlock poisoning. According to law enforcement, the women received the second toxin on Dec. 8, 2022, and proceeded to administer it over four days. Hemlock was allegedly mixed into a bowl of chili on Dec. 9, a glass of soda on Dec. 10, and a margarita on Dec. 12. Yet, Allen survived each attempt. On Dec. 13, 2022, Jones allegedly turned to ethylene glycol, the primary component in antifreeze, which has a sweet taste but is lethal in sufficient doses. Seven days later, Harold Allen was dead. Prosecutors claim Jones effectively tortured him with every failed poisoning. The month prior, Marsha Allen's home in Freetown—a small community about 40 miles southeast of Bloomington—was targeted in a break-in and burglary. Two men, Steven Andrew White, 29, and Nathaniel Kane Napier, 28, were arrested for the crime. However, authorities allege that the men neither planned nor acted alone; according to Jackson County Sheriff Rick Meyer, the burglary was carried out “under the direction and with the assistance of Marsha's daughter, Ashley Jones." Marsha told police she suspected her daughter from the start, as the burglars had the combination to her gun safe—a code only Jones was believed to know. White had his own story to share with police: he told investigators that not only did Jones orchestrate the burglary, but she also revealed that her mother had poisoned Harold Allen to death. Marsha Allen denied the accusation and voluntarily handed over her cellphone to law enforcement. However, the device contained crucial evidence—text messages between Marsha and Ashley detailing their plans to murder Harold Allen through poisoning in December 2022, according to Sheriff Meyer. A few weeks after Ashley Jones was arrested in early October 2023, police executed a search warrant at Marsha Allen's home. Later that same day, authorities believe Marsha took her own life. Jones is now facing multiple charges, including murder and conspiracy to commit murder, and is scheduled for trial in January 2025. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Throughout the years, some of my favorite episodes have, funny enough, been with kids from the same high school, Valor Christian. The man who coached these athletes is Coach Greg Coplen. After hearing so many positive things about him, I knew I needed to get him on the podcast and pick his brain. Coach Coplen coached at Valor Christian in Highlands Ranch, CO, for 10 years and is now starting his 2nd full year at Chaparral High School in Parker, CO. He's coached five teams in four different years, at two different schools, that finished the season in DyeStat National rankings, four of those finishing in the top 10 in the country. Throughout his tenure, he's coached state champions at nearly every event in both genders. In his first year at Chaparral High School, he helped coach the five boys' State Champions and oversaw the emergence of the girls' cross-country team, which finished third in the state of Colorado, sixth at Nike Southwest Regionals, and 27th in the country. Before last season, the Chaparral girls had not been ranked in the top 10 in the state in over 15 years. In today's conversation, Coach Coplen takes me through how to flip around a program in one year, how to instill excellence in your athletes, how to handle setbacks and disappointment, the lessons he's learned from coaching high-level athletes like Cole Sprout & Ashley Jones, the legacy he wants to leave behind in the sport, and much more! This conversation was absolutely fantastic. I personally have many takeaways, and I hope you'll take the time to listen to it! Tap into the Coach Greg Coplen Special. If you enjoy the podcast, please consider following us on Spotify and Apple Podcasts and giving us a five-star review! A few months after Google's "big leak," Matt and guest Ashley Jones discuss the fallout and conclusions. Needless to say there are some surprises, but for many in the SEO community - it is business as usual. It is still all about marketing your business - beyond Google. With Ashley, the discussion always comes back to content. Whether it's link building or content creation, the emphasis should be on quality. Unique, well-thought-out content resonates more with users and achieves better SEO results than mass-produced, mediocre content – an important distinction in the age of AI. Good writing is born of good thinking. Ashley reminds us that while tools like SEO and AI are indispensable, they should never replace the unique touch and depth humans bring to content creation. In this week's special episode of “Undressed,” hosts Pol' Atteu and Patrik Simpson take you through a comprehensive and entertaining critique of the fashion hits and misses from the 2024 Daytime Emmys. The episode begins with Pol welcoming the audience with a brand-new theme song, setting an upbeat tone for “Runway Rundown” and our mission to dissect and evaluate the red carpet looks, promising an unfiltered take on celebrity fashion. Our fashion microscope begins with Star Jones AKA: “hot mess” because the gown fails to fit properly and the overly high slit that runs up to her thigh. Jennifer Hudson is stunning in a full-length gown and beautiful hair styled in a bun in vibrant colors. Victoria Recaño wearing a gown inspired by “Crazy Rich Asians" feels dated and the tea-length gown does not suit her height. Heather Tom's ensemble sparks a harsher reaction and she misses the mark. Ashley Jones earns more favorable reviews with her chiffon full-length gown but, a clutch could have added a touch of sophistication. The critique continues with Lauren Staller, whose green crushed velvet dress is deemed a nightmare and it's out its season. Sheryl Lee Ralph is celebrated for her fashion sense in an all-black full-length dress. Lisa Guerrero's outfit, however, receives less favorable comments and she looks like she's dressed for a barbecue. Emily O'Brien is next, wearing an earth-tone wrap dress hugs her waistline with matching accessories that match her shoes. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood's outfit, unfortunately, does not fare well as it's probably a costume from Dancing with the Stars. The review moves on to Terri Seymour, who wears a full-length mesh fabric dress and tiny belt and both agree that the dress is a standout, showcasing Teri's fashion-forward choices. Luchina Fisher, on the other hand, makes a significant fashion misstep by wearing flats and an ill-fitting dress. Graziella Prunella's bridesmaid dress is noted for lacking accessories and Audrey Ly's all-white two-piece outfit is a hit for pairing it with a crystallized belt and a stylish jacket. Kiara Ortega's pageant-inspired look is discussed next. Tanner Novlan stands out among the male celebrities with his well-fitted look and his loafers, despite being unconventional, do not detract from his overall appearance. Gemma Bird Matheson's short black outfit pairedwith thigh-high boots from Amazon is deemed inappropriate but, Elia Cantu's high-low gown is praised for her beauty, though it resembles a prom dress. Jamila Norman's all-purple gown is a stunner and she hits it out of the ball park that “slays” with this look. Kelly Clarkson's hot pink dress is critiqued for not being resized after weight loss and the dress wasn't steamed properly and lacks the right undergarments, making it look matronly and Tamron Hall's daring all-black dress receives mixed reviews that the dress fails to flatter her. The episode wraps with our best and worst dressed. Who made the cut? Who dazzled and who fizzled?Whether you're looking for fashion tips, celebrity insights, or just a good laugh, this episode of “Undressed with Pol' and Patrik” delivers it all in style with this Runway Rundown recap! The unauthorized visitor did not report to the front office and was found with the firearm during his removal from campus. Although there's no evidence of intent to use the gun, possessing firearms on school premises violates state law. The suspect, identified as a former Sequoyah student, wasn't named. STORY 2: Woodstock Man Gets 30 Years in Prison for Child Molestation Romualdo De Pedraza, a Woodstock man, was sentenced to 30 years in prison followed by life probation for aggravated child molestation and cruelty to children. Following a four-day trial, a Cherokee County jury found him guilty. The charges arose from a Cherokee Sheriff's Office investigation prompted by a child under 10 disclosing sexual assault allegations against De Pedraza. A family member's 911 call initiated the investigation. The child provided details during a forensic interview at the Anna Crawford Children's Center. Prosecutors emphasized the importance of the interview in securing justice. District Attorney Susan Treadaway commended the center for providing a safe space for victims. The contest aimed to foster creative thinking and community engagement among students. STORY 5: Canton Rotary Club Awards Heart for Service Scholarships The Rotary Club of Canton recently awarded college scholarships to six graduating high school seniors from Cherokee County. These scholarships, presented during a ceremony at Canton City Hall, recognize students who demonstrate a commitment to community service and extracurricular involvement. The scholarship winners include Eylianis Gomez-Culbert, Jocelyn Alexandra Leal, Karielys “Karie” Rivera Alvarez, Liliana Marie Quintero, John “JT” Marshall Ivers III, and Julian Douglas Noaker. Commercial: INGLES 5 STORY 6: Georgia Lawmakers Backing New National Scenic Trail Senators Raphael Warnock and Thom Tillis have introduced legislation to conduct a feasibility study for designating the Benton MacKaye Trail as a National Scenic Trail. The trail spans 280 miles from Georgia to Tennessee and North Carolina, named after a conservationist. This initiative aims to preserve natural landscapes, boost rural economies, and enhance mobility for hikers. This one is for the girl who has been there, too. Maybe unknowingly, or perhaps you proudly wore the ‘witchcraft' badge of honor. Either way, Jesus can save you… too. Ashley Jones shares her powerful testimony today, and it's easily one of the most incredible ones that I've ever heard. There's no denying that New Age beliefs and practices are running rampant through this generation right now, and we shed light on why it's one of the biggest deceptions unfolding in the body of Christ. “How amazing it is that (my story) can reach people and encourage them and give them a hope that their life has purpose, that their life has meaning, that their story is not over. That's something that I've trusted in and have bought into the fact that my story is not over." Tennessee's Ashley Jones has a tremendously inspiring story. At 14 years old, she was in an ATV accident and lost her right arm. That did not stop her from continuing in sports. She was a soccer player and then competed in triathlons before fully committing to running as a junior in high school. She was a cross country standout for Valor Christian High School in Colorado. She started off her NCAA career at High Point and joined Tennesee's team this past fall. She was one of the team leaders during the cross country season with strong finishes at the SEC Championships and NCAA South Regional before going on to finish 42nd at the NCAA Cross Country Championships to lead the Vols to a sixth place team finish. Now she's getting ready to hit the track in the coming weeks but joins us with some exciting news that she has signed an NIL deal with On. Welcome to the latest episode of the Nonprofit Connect podcast, brought to you by Rogue Creatives, made to connect with and learn from people in the nonprofit sphere. I'm your host, Matt Barnes, and you're going to want to stick around for this one, folks. In this heartfelt episode, I sit down for a chat with Ashley Jones, founder and CEO at Love Not Lost. Ashley shares her personal experience and the healing power of the photos taken during difficult times. We also delve into misconceptions about nonprofit expenses, the significance of donor engagement, and the need for intentional community building in creating impactful organizations. We highlight the role of resilience, determination, and the pursuit of making a difference in the nonprofit landscape.
In Part 2 of this eye-opening interview, Jared and Ashley Jones courageously share their experiences with child abuse within the Mormon community and the disturbing lengths to which leaders will go to protect abusers, even at the expense of victims.
