This week's episode starts in the Hamptons, makes a pit stop on the campaign trail and ends in Capri. Of course, no one is surprised because we're all just having a Brat Girl summer. Wait…didn't we coin it ‘Rat Girl Summer?' We digress. Anyway, nothing says summer like Jill Zarin's Annual Luxury Luncheon in the Hamptons. Anna ventured out east with friend Chef Stuart to attend the summer soiree and gives the deets on what went down. Meanwhile Dre is living in her antique dealer era helping her parents list random heirlooms on eBay. A 1972 silver dollar is bidding for how much!? Plus the big Biden Drop-out news and what it means. Also the Emmy Noms are in and Anna and Dre decide what category ‘The Bear' should actually be considered. And fresh off her Capri Yachting adventure, Kris Jenner is on the show with her **almost** favorite daughter Kourtney to recap the Euro trip. Kourt is busy with her newest Lemme launch and Travis's tour schedule. Oh, and Kim's latest obsession: the Salmon Sperm Facial. You're gonna love it Dolls! See you back here same place next week Big Wigs. Catch up on big wig episodes on Youtube and follow Anna & Dre for more content.

A conversation with the iconic Jeffrey Deitch regarding an exciting 2022 exhibition at Deitch's Los Angeles gallery that has been synthesized into a new book titled "Luncheons on the Grass," available now from Rizzoli Electa. The innovative exhibition revisited and reimagined Édouard Manet's seminal work, Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe, a painting that shocked the 1863 Parisian art scene and is often heralded as the first modern painting. Our conversation explores how Deitch convinced over thirty of today's most acclaimed painters (including Cecily Brown, Jeff Koons and Christina Quarles) to respond to Manet's painting by creating works that dialogue with this historic piece, each bringing contemporary perspectives to themes of modernism, realism, and societal depiction. The result not only reconsiders Manet's impact on modern art but also examines the intersections of historical reverence and contemporary creativity. Jeffrey and I are also joined for the conversation by Viola Angiolini, Director of Research and Curatorial Projects at Jeffrey Deitch Gallery.https://www.rizzoliusa.com/book/9780847899876/https://deitch.com/los-angeles/exhibitions/luncheon-on-the-grass

Tonight, we'll read from “For Luncheon and Supper Guests” written by Alice Bradley published in 1923. “Luncheon” is the formal word for lunch, a light mid-day meal. In the Middle Ages, before electric lighting and industrialization, the mid-day meal was large and considered dinner. There was no lunch, so later in the evening a lighter meal was had called “supper”. But by the 1800s, the large meal of dinner was pushed into the evening and thus, not only was supper squeezed out, but there was a need for something to eat in between breakfast and dinner. Up until the early 1800s, luncheon was generally reserved for ladies, who would often have lunch with one another when their husbands were out. The meal was often made up of left-overs from the previous night's plentiful dinner. Beginning in the Victorian era, afternoon tea supplemented this luncheon at four o'clock. Happy Black History Month! In addition to that, I MADE IT! This is the 12th and final episode of Vibes...Moods & Moves of Season #1! Needless to say, I have a lot to say and some observations, reflections and feels to share with you all. In the spirit of Valentine's Day ( which was a week ago...) I have to say, I am totally in love with every single person who stepped out into the " interwebs " this past year and shared uplifting and edifying content. You all are simply the best! As for me, my Podcast was a little monthly broadcast; and it truly became my "go to" when the News and current events got to be too much and I knew I needed a break. It has also been my public reckoning with my old self who has been chomping at the bit to do some chat in a blog meets radio format, for years! So of course I decided to go for it in the middle of a pandemic! As scary as it was, I took comfort in knowing that I wasn't alone in doing so. So many from all around the world created and shared and took to the web, pushed passed their fear (s), frustration with being locked down... immeasurable global grief, and every other emotion we collectively have felt during this past year. I am honored to be just one voice in that mass digital choir of good stuff. So I close this season with a full one hour episode where I chat about how I can't get into observing Black History Month on social media as it I simply feels void of that something special, the connection and deep reflection. Instead I choose to capture some of the vibe that I am missing from more traditional ways that I have celebrated Black History Month with friends and family of years gone by. The fix for me during this time when we can't gather at Luncheons, Museums, Performances, Worship Services and such; I'm reading, watching documentaries, enjoying Art and the Performing Arts online, listening to music and reflecting on my genealogy and my place in it all as I celebrate my African American Pride! ( which I celebrate all the time, but just a lil extra during Black History Month.). With that said, please join me for this special Season#1 EPI 12, closing episode. Bring your tasty beverage, snack and settle into your comfy seat. This is a true blue heart to heart chat! And I sincerely hope you enjoy it. Linda R. Carlozzi is known to many for her stellar legal career (she’s even included on Crain's NY's list of 100 Leading Women Lawyers in New York City). But, to those of us in the Italian American community, her ubiquitous presence amongst the leadership of countless Italian American organizations might make one wonder exactly how this “Wonder Woman” finds the time for anything but being Italian. This week, Rossella and John catch up with this ever-present Italian American to explore some of the many institutions and initiatives she lends her talents to. From her college years as one of the founders of FIERI, the first national organization for Italian American college students, to her work with the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF), the Columbus Citizens Foundation, and the National Organization of Italian American Women (NOIAW), Linda has become one of the most prominent and active women leaders in Italian America. Yet, even with such a robust ethnic résumé, it’s her work as Chairwoman of the 99-years young Italian Welfare League (IWL) that has defined her service to her community. As the League gears up to celebrate its 99th anniversary in late October, we’ll discuss its founding in 1920 as a project of the American Red Cross in Italy, and its decades long service for newly-arrived Italian immigrants on the piers at Ellis Island, to its current mission born from the tragedy of September 11, 2001- to serve “i Nostri Bambini”, the children of greatest need in the Italian American community. This all-volunteer group is the oldest organization for Italian American women in the nation, yet it's leading the way in redefining service in the community. As they explore this history, they’ll take the well-worn, meandering path that comes with any episode of the Italian American Podcast, to search for better understanding of why our community keeps its culture so alive, and share a story (and argument) or two from the many years these three have crossed paths in their shared efforts to serve the community they all love. It’s an episode that will inspire you to get active in the community, and leave you with a ton of laughs along the way. Every month on the Third Thursday, we highlight a woman who's making a difference in our community and feature her on a segment we call the Valley Women Today. This can be a woman who is successfully running a business, making an impact with non-profits in her community or just someone who has a unique history that might be of interest to our listeners. Today's show was actually recorded yesterday. We had the amazing opportunity to attend the Valley Business Women's Luncheon hosted by the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber and speak with Adriana Trigiani. She's has written best-selling novels, screenplays, and two memoirs. Plus she has written and directed documentaries and a major motion picture – Big Stone Gap based on her book series. It was a great conversation with insight to the struggles women face in her industry and as a whole. We talked about her journey, her accomplishments and creative processes. For more information about Adriana or to purchase her books, including her latest: Kiss Carlo due out on June 20 - visit her website: adrianatrigiani.com. You can get more details about the quarterly Valley Business Women's Luncheons on the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber's website: https://www.regionalchamber.biz/ or by liking their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ValleyBusinessWomen/ From her website: Adriana Trigiani is beloved by millions of readers around the world for her bestselling novels, including her latest, All the Stars in the Heavens, the instant bestseller of The New York Times, Barnes & Noble, Publishers Weekly, USA Today, and Indie Booksellers nationwide. She wrote the blockbuster The Shoemaker's Wife, the Big Stone Gap series, the Valentine trilogy and Lucia, Lucia. Trigiani's themes of love and work, emphasis upon craftsmanship and family life have brought her legions of fans who call themselves Adri-addicts (a term coined by book maven Robin Kall). Their devotion has made Adriana one of “the reigning queens of women's fiction” (USA Today). Adriana wrote and directed the film adaptation of her debut novel Big Stone Gap, produced by the Academy Award winning producer Donna Gigliotti, shot entirely on location in her hometown, with an all star cast including: Ashley Judd, Patrick Wilson, Whoopi Goldberg, John Benjamin Hickey, Anthony LaPaglia, Jenna Elfman, Jane Krakowski, Judith Ivey, Mary Pat Gleason, Dagmara Dominczyk, Mary Testa, Paul Wilson, Chris Sarandon, Jasmine Guy, and introducing Erika Coleman and Bridget Gabbe, with music by John Leventhal, and songs performed by his lovely wife, Rosanne Cash. Glorious local talent perform on the soundtrack and act in the movie, sharing their gifts beyond the peaks of the Appalachian mountains. The soundtrack is now available on iTunes and in stores. Big Stone Gap opened the Virginia Film Festival on November 6th, 2014. Tickets for the 1000-seat house sold out in minutes, breaking a record for the festival. The film screened at the inaugural Bentonville Film Festival in May 2015 to three sold-out crowds; at the closing ceremony, Big Stone Gap took home the first award of the night for Best Ensemble. Big Stone Gap hit theaters nationwide on October 9th, 2015 and spent 11 weeks in theaters. The film was the #2 Romantic Comedy of 2015, and listed as a top-grossing women-directed film of that year. It is now available to own.
