This week on The Kelly Alexander Show we start things off with our music editor Sharon Hyland talking about how some group members from popular boybands and girl groups have to move on and find other creative avenues after the band either breaks up or goes on hiatus like the boys of *NSYNC. We then take a trip into our Vintage Vault and have a conversation with Canadian actress Meaghan Rath chatting about her successful acting career and being cast in Children Ruin Everything. Thank you for listening!
Created by Golden Globe® and Emmy® Award-winner Kurt Smeaton ("Schitt's Creek"), CHILDREN RUIN EVERYTHING is a half hour comedy that follows Astrid (Meaghan Rath, "Being Human," "Hawaii Five-0") and James (Aaron Abrams, "Blindspot," "Hannibal"), as they raise their two young children in the city, while struggling to hold onto their pre-kid life. Illustrating the hilarious and varied ways kids can wreck happiness, alter plans, annihilate goals and dreams, and force parents to re-invent their lives, the series also explores how maybe that re-invented life is somewhat okay, too. Nowhere near as good as that old, really great life. But still kind of nice. The series also stars Ennis Esmer ("Blindspot," "Schitt's Creek"), Nazneen Contractor ("Ransom," "Heroes Reborn"), Logan Nicholson ("Blues Clues and You"), Mikayla SwamiNathan, Dmitry Chepovetsky ("Killjoys," "Departure"), Veena Sood ("Corner Gas Animated," "The Indian Detective"), Lisa Codrington ("Letterkenny," "Anne With an E"), and Darius Rota. CHILDREN RUIN EVERYTHING is from award-winning New Metric Media. Chuck Tatham ("Modern Family," "Arrested Development," "How I Met Your Mother"), multiple Canadian Screen Award-winner Mark Montefiore ("Letterkenny," "Shoresy") and Meaghan Rath are executive producers, with Alyson Richards ("The Retreat") serving as producer. The series is produced by New Metric Media in association with Bell Media's CTV, with the participation of the Canada Media Fund and Bell Fund.
Children Ruin Everything is a fun, comedic love letter to childrearing that explores the many ways kids destroy those pre-parent freedoms we take for granted and celebrates the moments that make having a family all worth it. The series follows married couple, Astrid (Meaghan Rath) and James (Aaron Abrams) as they struggle to find a balance and maintain sanity while raising nine-year-old Felix (Logan Nicholson), five-year-old Vivian (Mikayla SwamiNathan) and a new baby. Each episode compares the before and after of life with kids. The bygone days of time and leisure versus the new reality of chaos and compromise as James and Astrid grapple with the needs and whims of their precious little weirdos. From money to ‘me time' children ruin everything in unexpected and hilarious ways. Although they sometimes pine for those care-free, kid-free days, ultimately they wouldn't have it any other way.A dynamic and versatile performer, Meaghan Rath is quickly emerging as one of the entertainment industry's brightest talents. Rath is an award-nominated actress and producer best known for her roles as Tani Rey on HAWAII FIVE-0 and Sally Malik in the adaptation of the popular U.K. television series BEING HUMAN.Aaron Abrams has appeared in several regular and recurring roles for television, including MASTERS OF SEX, THE L.A. COMPLEX, LONGMIRE, THE OATH, ROOKIE BLUE, SLINGS & ARROWS, BLINDSPOT, and HANNIBAL. Fans can also see him in the hit sci-fi film CODE 8, its upcoming sequel on Netflix, and his award-winning turn in chef drama NOSE TO TAIL. Abrams has also written and produced several films, including THE LOVEBIRDS starring Kumail Nanjiani and Issa Rae, currently on Netflix.

Host: Tehran Von Ghasri - @iamtehran On this weeks CW's SUPERGIRL - SEASON 5 - EPISODE 19 - SEASON FINALE - IMMORTAL KOMBAT - Brainy's betrayal is a real sacrifice, Alex becomes the superhero we deserve not the one we need, Kara hates being sidelined, Leviathan G-ds go Wild, and Kara and Lena team up but do they make up? We being the episode with a clearly conflicted Brainy who is unwilling to let his friends die for the greater good, especially since the death of Supergirl and team seems unnecessary and like a Lex Luthor personal vendetta. Brainy has been betraying his friends in order to stop Leviathan but is coming to the realization that Luthor may have other plans. He meets up with his female Brainy counterpart (played by his real life sister Meaghan Rath) at the bar where she convinced him to go along with Lex Luthor's plan in the first place. Brainy resolves to not let his friends die and decides to use a Braniac pod to capture the Levathan G-ds. Inside the Leviathan ship we see there is a radiation field that disables and destroys any who attempt to enter without a shield. Brainy has no such shield and puts himself at considerable life threatening risk to insert the miniature code to capture Leviathan. Lex Luthor on the other hand does have such a pin, as he was extended one when Gemma invites him unto the Leviathan ship, which has a low tech elevator and seems to simply be an old fashioned casino. Lex then enters the actual tech ship and after suffering for a few because of the radiation field is given a pin that protects him. He is told by Gemma to keep it as he is one of Leviathan now. Kara and Lena seemingly team up but Kara is reluctant to make up. Lena has seen the error of her ways, but Kara reminds Lena she was not the only one hurt. Lena has consistently hurt Kara ever since, by pretending to be Kara's friend, having Kara steal for Lena, Lena then stealing from Kara, and also trying to kill Kara with Kryptonite. Kara states if Lena is looking for absolution, she will not find it from Kara. However they must work together. Lena works hard to make Kara another Kryptonite suit to protect her from Leviathan who is in possession of Kryptonite. To get Kara to the lab is not an easy task either as Leviathan is searching for her. Kara, used to flying, takes the bus while Jonn Jonnz and Mgann pose as her and fly off gaining the attention of Leviathan power monger Ramakhan, and newcomers Tezumak and Sela. A battle occurs with Mgann being hit. Nia All and Alex join the battle, Alex in her new tech suit designed by Jonn. On the ship a failing Brainy is visited by Lex Luthor who states he knew Brainy would take this course of action. He takes the capsule as it is part of his plan and hands it to his mother who has a seemingly sinister plot to develop that will form next season. Nia has a dream in regards to Brainy's actions and says they need to go save him. The cliffhanger is left at this point. The season ended 3 episodes shy of what it was slated for, the cast and crew did the best with what time they had left. All this and more on the Afterbuzz Aftershow. Stay tuned. Mid Season premier of CW's Supergirl featured the Earth after the conclusion of Crisis on Infinite Earths. Most people on Earth have no memory of the "Crisis" except for the heroes involved including Lex Luthor and those that Jon Jonzz helped recover their memories. Lena's memory, which was gone, is revived by Lex who propositions her with a partnership. Supergirl, not willing to the make the same mistake of the previous Earth goes to tell Lena the truth and ask for Lena to join her in fighting Lex. Brainy runs into a doppleganger. Back at the DEO, Brainy is confronted by 5 different versions of himself/herself as one is a female Brainy 5 (played by Jesse Rath's real life sister Meaghan Rath). In an effort to find out what virus is attacking and killing Brainy's, we find that one fo the Brainy's is holding a bottle contains his undestroyed world compressed into an atomic level which he means to unleash.
