Ben Falcone isn't exactly known for making kid-friendly projects. His films with wife and frequent collaborator Melissa McCarthy are "R-rated quite often, but I do think there's a certain sweetness that we usually try to hit." And it's that sweetness he's bringing to his first kids' book, What's Scarier Than Thunder? "My secret goal is that it's something that kids will think is funny, but that parents will, too." The story follows Claire, who is afraid of thunderstorms. For future stories, Falcone sees many other things to be scared of: "Heights, first day of school, remember that one? Meeting someone new, auditions..." Another story he's actively involved with is the podcast Hildy the Barback and the Lake of Fire, which he created with McCarthy and Steve Mallory. "There's going to be a season two, so we're excited." And even though "the industry is clearly changing," Falcone says he believes in comedy. "Melissa and I, our big goal is to try to be a very small part of the bigger push to get comedies back in the theaters. Deborah has worked in east Africa in Namibia and then in the jungles of  northern Thailand on an Angelina Jolie film, head of make up department for a Glen Close produced 're do' of the musical South Pacific. Deborah has worked with Dennis Hopper and Melanie Griffith, daughter of Tippy Hedren. Deborah had to turn Dennis Hopper into Frank Sinatra for the film The Night We Called It A Day. Deborah has been nominated for an Emmy Award for make up on actress Deborah Messing in the tv mini series Starter Wife. Deborah was one of many make up artists on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales filmed in Australia. Deborah worked recently with Melissa McCarthy and husband Ben Falcone on comedy Netflix series Gods Favourite Idiot. Deborah has travelled to the USA for many times and loves Palm Springs and the Californian coast and the Redwood Forest and the madness of Las Vegas.

For our season 1 finale, we finally tackle the movie that SHOULD have been named Worst Picture of 2021, Thunder Force. While it wasn't nominated for a single Razzie, Ben Falcone and Melissa McCarthy's latest collaborative effort is but one of a whole line of films that beg the simple question: Why? We don't just tear Thunder Force apart -- we go back through the entirety of On The Day Production's films (2014's Tammy, 2016's The Boss, 2018's Life of the Party, and 2020's Superintelligence) to show conclusively that Falcone has not learned much as a director, writer, or storyteller, and break down the bad habits he and McCarthy fall into in the process. But, really, are they ALL bad? Join us for an academic treatise comparing On The Day's work to that of Adam Sandler, the absolute worst super powers you've ever heard of, bewilderment over Octavia Spencer's utter lack of emotion, and more praise for one weird crab man than you probably needed to hear.
