The AI wars are heating up Reports are out today that Amazon has selected Anthropic to be its AI partner for the new Alexa devices. Reuters notes that initial versions Amazon's own AI proved insufficient, often struggling with words and responding to user prompts. It's thought that this enhanced AI assistant will be a subscription service costing $5 to $10 a month. Amazon already has a minority stake in the company. Open AI is seeking investment too, and both Apple and Nvidia are interested, valuing the company at $100 billion. Apple is already planning to integrate ChatGPT into iOS and Siri, and Nvidia is a key supplier for Open AI. AI Safety is in the government spotlight Both OpenAI and Anthropic will share their models with the US Government's Safety Institute. Together with the UK they will evaluate safety risks and mitigate potential issues. There's a bill waiting for California's Governor's signature which will force AI companies in the state to take specific safety measures before training advanced models - that's the first in the country specifically targeting AI. That law would force companies to be able to quickly and fully shut the model down, prevent unsafe post-training modifications, and prevent critical harm. Oprah is going to educate America about AI She's doing a special for the ABC Network here called ‘AI and the Future of Us', where she'll interview Bill Gates and Sam Altman among others to explain how AI works, as well as the possibilities and risks ahead. President Joe Biden's administration has taken numerous steps to fight monopoly power in the interest of the people, but at almost every turn, the White House Communications team refuses to comment on these positions and accomplishments, making it look like Biden is doing nothing for we, the people. The distinguished progressive Senator Russ Feingold lost re-election in 2010 with a similar "run away from your progressive bona fides" strategy - it might cost Biden similarly. Next, leave it to the ABC Network of Australia, but they've broken down the exact carbon footprint differences between EVs and Internal Combustion Engine cars from manufacturing and materials, fuel/energy sourcing and use through their lifetime and finally into disposal - you'll be surprised at exactly how the two compare. Our dead pilot this month comes from two brilliant scribes: Kat Likkel & John Hoberg (Elemental & My Name Is Earl)! Their pilot is a half hour single camera dramedy called The Kings of Ohio. It centers around a blue collar laborer, Brad, who is trying to keep his two best friends Ronnie (fast talking schemer with a "plan") and Carl (a combat vet with a short fuse) from falling through the cracks in an economically depressed town in southern Ohio — all while attempting to win back the love of his life — his estranged wife Darla, a tough as nails clerk at the local Walmart. Kings Of Ohio was inspired by Kat & John's childhood, drawn from people they grew up around in Ohio and Kansas. It was set up at ABC Network and we know you're going to love it.We had a terrific cast for this one including Garrick Bernard (Single Drunk Female), Dustin Ybarra (Easter Sunday), Carl Tart (American Auto), Cyrina Fiallo (Life In Pieces, Community), Mark Gagliardi (Blood & Treasure), Hal Lublin (The Venture Bros), and Andrew Reich with stage directions. If you'd like to see the video feed of Kings Of Ohio, you can do so by going to maximum fun.org/join and become a member for as little as $5. The series originated on January 31, 1936, on WXYZ, the same local Detroit station that originated its companion shows The Lone Ranger and Challenge of the Yukon. Beginning April 12, 1938, the station supplied the series to the Mutual Broadcasting System radio network, and then to NBC Blue and its successors, the Blue Network and ABC Network, from November 16, 1939, through September 8, 1950. It returned from September 10 to December 5, 1952. It was sponsored by General Mills from January to August 1948, and by Orange Crush in its brief 1952 run. Distinguished by its use of classical music for themes and for bridges between scenes, The Green Hornet was "one of radio's best-known and most distinctive juvenile adventure shows". The series detailed the adventures of Britt Reid, debonair newspaper publisher by day, crime-fighting masked hero at night. With his faithful valet Kato, Britt Reid, daring young publisher, matches wits with the Underworld, risking his life so that criminals and racketeers within the law may feel its weight by the sting of the Green Hornet!

Happy Full House (Almost) Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I covered the next episode in the Joey's Ladies Series, Full House S3E12: Joey & Stacy and... Oh, Yeah, Jesse, which aired on December 15, 1989. (The last episode of the 80's Decade, Everyone). In this episode Comet, the puppy, is an undisciplined chewer, and Jesse bosses around with Joey, who fascinates a background singer to a commercial. I really enjoyed this episode, we got to see puppy Comet, sooo adorable. The bad news is since this is the family's first puppy, they don't understand that he has a destructive side (chewing anything and everything that's left on the floor that he can get his paws on). Puppyhood, I hear can last anywhere from (0-24 Months). At least Danny does enroll Comet later on in obedience training. So, let's go to the third wheel effect with Joey, Stacy and Jesse, the two lovebirds meet when Stacy and Cindi arrive as backup singers for a Permateeth (denturecream) radio ad that the guys are working on. Stacy, we learn is a fan of Joey's comedy, she tells him she's seen his show and finds him hysterical. Cindi introduces herself and tells Joey, I've never heard of you. Stacy gets Joey to do his Roseanne Barr impression. Funny, since the show Roseanne was also on the ABC Network. Joey's got great ideas for this Permateeth radio commercial which include comedy bits, sadly, he has become the silent partner of J & J creative Services since Jesse shuts down all his ideas in reference to putting a comedic spin on the radio ad. Jesse continues to get bossy with Joey (as is the Jesse way) included telling Joey that he and Stacy are going to go bowling with him and Becky (since when does Jesse bowl). I would have loved the Tanners forming a bowling team and taking on the Gibblers. That would be fun to watch. Stacy doesn't like Jesse's dominating behavior over Joey and tells Joey to be more assertive and stand up for himself and his ideas. I really like Stacy and feel she is good for Joey, she lifts up his confidence and supports his ideas. She's the perfect cheerleader for him. Long story short, he takes Stacy's advice and uses his comedic idea as a back up plan when Jesse's Senior Citizen Idea crashes and burns with the Ad Exec Clients. Joey's idea is gold and wins over the clients. Jesse can't stand that Joey's idea was better and leaves him standing in the dust, feeling backstabbed. Joey points out it's good to have a second idea in case it's not what the clients want. Jesse even insults Stacy by calling out Yoko Uno. Jesse is such a jerk for most of this episode. In the end Jesse hears Joey out and agrees he was being selfish and he should listen more because Joey has great ideas. Let's get back to Comet, he crosses a line when he goes after Mr. Bear who was just left on the floor and Comet takes advantage to chew on him with his baby puppy teeth(which are probably sharp like needles). He doesn't know the different between treasured family heirloom and a chew toy. Stephanie finds Mr. Bear who's now in need of some assistance due to loss of stuffing. DJ swoops in and takes care of the patient along with Michelle dressed as an adorable nurse. Although not before Stephanie in a fit of anger tells her Dad, I have no dog! After he tells her having a dog means taking care of things that are precious to you and to keep those things out of reach of puppy jaws. Tune in next week when I close out the Joey's Ladies Series with Full House S7E16: Joey's Funny Valentine, which aired on January 25, 1994. In this episode Joey thinks he has found his dream girl, comic Roxy Martin, but she turns out to be a nightmare. I hope you enjoy the episode and have a great weekend! This week, we're revisiting one of our favorite (and first) episodes of the podcast in case you missed it back in 2020. In this episode, Tricia and Lisa interview entrepreneur, best-selling author, and investor of ABC Network's Shark Tank, Daymond John about taking control of your game by setting goals and tracking progress for your business. Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney. This week we have a lot in store since it's our 200th episode! But first, let's get to the Disney News for the week. After months of being closed, Expedition Everest reopened with no noticeable changes. Sorry, the Yeti is still broke. To celebrate the Electrical Light Parade coming back, Disneyland will be selling a really cute Pete's Dragon popcorn bucket and snail sipper. Disney also announced ABC Network favorite Dancing with the Stars will no longer be on ABC, and will be the first live show on Disney+. We asked you all to send in your questions to help us celebrate our 200th episode and you delivered! This week we answer questions about our most memorable moments, the four parks we'd like to visit, first-timer must-have snacks, if we could do an episode on Disney's silent shorts/films, best Pixar films by genre, favorite episode, and what Disney movie we'd like to live in. Plus, Joe works in a few extra games. Thank you so much for the questions/comments. We say this all the time, but we wouldn't have a show without you. Thank you for helping get us to our 200th episode. We love talking to each other and you every week, so we can't wait to celebrate even more milestones with you! Also, special congratulations to Abbey M. and Lisa K. for winning the Disney gift cards! Have a magical week!
