Laylla and Chelle spill the enchanted tea on their magical adventures at the 2025 Sacred Space Conference! From leading their deeply transformative Fool Meditation Ritual to hugging the absolute spell out of some beloved listeners, it was a whirlwind of candles, community, and just the right amount of chaos! The witches share stories from the workshops they attended and the brilliant witches they connected with...yes, we're talking about Mat Auryn, Jhenah Telyndru, Amy Blackthorn, Mhara Starling, Kristoffer Hughes, Christian Brannen, and so many more. There were spellbooks, sacred moments, and possibly a few awkward ones too! Like when Chelle said something very, very cheeky to Kristoffer Hughes, who (thank the gods) found it hilarious. Laylla, on the other hand, may or may not have had an awkward entanglement with Jhenah Telyndru and is now fairly convinced she has to avoid the Avalonian Priestess out of sheer embarrassment.Between the deep spiritual work and the laugh-until-you-snort moments, this episode is part recap, part celebration, and all community. Whether you were there in person or in spirit, come along for the ride as the witches reflect on the joy, power, and absolute magic of sharing sacred space with this incredible pagan community.Fool of the Labyrinth Chant (replace Lady with Fool)Got a question? In this whimsical episode of THE CIRCLE IS podCAST, Rachel True and Mat Auryn sit down with Welsh witch and author Mhara Starling to uncover the rich world of Welsh folklore, fairies, and magick. Mhara takes us deep into the historical and cultural roots of witchcraft in Wales, revealing why Welsh witches were often accused of working with fairies rather than demons. She shares the fascinating connection between fairies and the dead, exploring the blurred lines between spirits, the otherworld, and the magical beings that walk between them. Mhara also debunks modern misconceptions about fairies and shares a chilling personal experience that might just be a real-life encounter with the otherworld. We also dive into the magick of household spirits—how to build relationships with them, why they sometimes make your life difficult, and the surprising ways they communicate. Mhara opens up about her journey into witchcraft, the mentors who shaped her path, and how she blends tradition with modern practice. We talk about her books Welsh Witchcraft and Welsh Fairies, why she felt compelled to write them, and what she hopes readers will take away. With her signature humor, storytelling flair, and deep knowledge of Welsh lore, Mhara Starling makes this episode a must-listen for witches, folklore lovers, and anyone curious about the real magick of fairies. #welshwitch #welshwitchcraft #Swyngyfaredd Join us for an enlightening livestream discussion on "Welsh Folk Witchcraft," featuring Mhara Starling, a prominent figure in the resurgence and preservation of Welsh witchcraft traditions. This interview delves deep into the heart of Wales' rich magical heritage, exploring its unique practices and beliefs and the significance of its landscape in contemporary witchcraft. Mhara Starling was born in North Wales, raised on the Isle of Anglesey, and is a native Welsh speaker. She is a practitioner of Swyngyfaredd, a magical practice rooted in Welsh culture, and she runs her own coven today in the Welsh marches. In her native language, Mhara refers to herself as a Swynydd, a historical term for practitioners of folk magic which aided their community. The closest English translation to Swynydd would be a Welsh Folk Witch. She is also a published author, and spends her time delivering workshops and talks at conferences, museums, and online. This discussion will not only offer insights into the practical aspects of Welsh folk magic. Still, it will also address the broader implications of preserving indigenous magical traditions in a globalised world. You should expect to learn about the role of folklore, myth, and legend in shaping the practices and beliefs of Welsh witchcraft and how these elements contribute to a deeper understanding of the natural and supernatural world. Wales is a country full of legends and myths about the spiritual world; stories of sacred lakes, healing herbs, women of magic, and the mighty red dragon. The Land remembers these stories and the ancient ways of mystery and magic; traditions that have their roots in old Brythonic Britain. There are some fierce and magical women in Wales's ancient mythology who embody the archetype of the Witch in a variety of ways. In this episode, Mhara shares deep wisdom about some of these mythic women (such as Cerridwen, Rhiannon, and Arianrhod) and the Welsh magical traditions at large.

Episode 170 is a roundtable with a diverse group of queer practitioners from around the world representing multiple facets of the magical community. The modern Pagan community is seen by many as focusing on fertility and binary gender identity which can leave LGBTQ+ practitioners feeling disenfranchised. We explore the notion of being LGBTQ+ in a fertility religion, embracing the term 'queer' as well as other terminology with a problematic past, spiritual bypassing used as a means to invalidate lived experience, and how cishet Pagans can be better allies.
