Idiot Mystic

Hi.This one is a little different.Usually, I make the sound baths myself, but this episode is a carefully curated 1 hour meditation music sound bath made from calming tracks in my stock music library, blended together with the atmosphere of a heavy wind storm.Think of it as a meditation music playlist, but softened into a sound bath. You'll hear peaceful instrumental textures, 432 Hz tones, binaural beat-style elements, and stormy wind ambience woven together for sleep, meditation, deep relaxation, breathwork, studying, journaling, prayer, or just lying down and letting your brain stop acting like it has 47 tabs open.I made this because sometimes finding meditation music online can feel weirdly exhausting. Everything is either too cheesy, too commercial, too shiny, or it immediately sounds like someone is about to sell you a crystal-powered Tesla. So this is meant to be simple. No big promise. No magical guarantee.Just one hour of calming music, soft frequencies, and wind moving around everything like the world outside is being gently cleared out. Some tracks include 432 Hz tones, which many listeners enjoy for relaxation and meditation. Others include binaural beat-style elements, where each ear may receive slightly different frequencies, so headphones are recommended for the fullest experience.Use this as background music for sleep, meditation, deep breathing, reflection, or whatever strange little inner journey you are currently surviving.I hope you're doing well. And if not, I hope this helps you move a little closer.Featured music selections include tracks by Media-Music Group, Jeff Hanley, Enzo Orefice, Lance Conrad, Jonathan Mogavero, Michele Nobler, Boris Skalsky, Giuseppe Rizzo, and Natalia Kolesnikova. For more sound baths, meditations, rain audio, ocean sounds, and strange spiritual thoughts:Website: https://www.idiotmystic.comDiscord: https://discord.gg/dXKjhZrZmMInstagram: @idiotmysticTikTok: @idiotmysticYouTube: Idiot MysticFollow Idiot Mystic for more calming audio and weird little places to rest.

Host Dr. Philip Lindholm sits down with Pierce County Executive Ryan Mello to answer a fundamental question: Is homelessness a housing problem?  Ryan explains what he sees as the root causes of homelessness, the rising cost of housing, and the policies that could turn the tide in Pierce County and beyond.Philip kicks off the episode by asking the central question:Is homelessness a housing problem? Executive Mello responds emphatically, stating that it absolutely is—a lack of housing is the strongest correlation with homelessness. Mello walks us through the top drivers of homelessness, citing data from Pierce County's Point-in-Time Count. He emphasizes three main causes: lack of affordable housing, insufficient income, and family crises such as domestic violence or rejection after coming out as LGBTQ+.Substance use and mental health disorders, Mello explains, are often consequences rather than causes of homelessness. He defends the housing-first model, which builds trust and safety as a foundation for tackling deeper issues. The conversation also explores low-barrier shelters and the challenge of balancing civil liberties with public safety. Mello supports involuntary commitment only in cases where someone poses a violent threat to themselves or others. The episode then shifts to the rising cost of housing. Mello outlines the impacts of inflation, zoning laws, and reduced construction, making the case for more regional collaboration and public subsidies. He introduces the GrowthManagement Act, advocating for smart urban development and warning against urban sprawl. In terms of actionable solutions, Mello discusses eviction prevention, rental assistance programs, and community land trusts. He stresses the need for a unified regional approach, inclusive planning, and protection against displacement. Listeners are encouraged to educate themselves and engage with local officials to support these initiatives.• Spotify:https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-informed-citizen• Apple Podcasts:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-informed-citizen/id1738680188• Website: https://theinformedcitizen.com/• Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drphiliplindholm/• Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/drphiliplindholm• YouTube Playlist:https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdscEVf-gjkiNh9YK-0yYiTZN7usLZ4CRProduced in partnership with Terry Wise & Associates.Editing & Post-Production: Tony Wise at WiseVideography.Music: Sound and Vision, “This Party Bussin”

But I know a guy who IS in the trenches, and I watch his Youtube videos quite often. And I really like them! You might be watching them as well. Does the name, Jon Meyer ring any bells? Host: Philip Lindholm Guest: Senator Steve O'Ban Join us as we explore the homeless crisis, exploring the problem and discussing solutions. This show is for the game changers, the world shapers, the inquisitive, and the ambitious who believe in Thomas Jeffersons great saying that, “an informed citizenry is at the heart of a dynamic democracy.” So whether you're tuning in during your commute, at the gym, or relaxing at home, join us on this exciting journey and let's dive into this episode of, The Informed Citizen.   Discussion Topics Topic 1: Who is Steve O'ban? From paper boy to seasoned senior lawyer skilled in Governmental and Legislative Affairs. Steve has over twenty-five years in private practice, seven years in state government, and five years as senior counsel for the executive at the county level. Steve has served as chair and ranking on health care, human services and other legislative committees and is now tackling one of the biggest problem of our time, the homeless epidemic.   Topic 2: Why is the situation so dire?   The reason most people are on the street is the profound failure of family. From aging out of foster care to general lack of support. Most of our current solutions are so one dimensional. They may address one aspect of the problem, but fail to attack the others head on. Safe housing is crucial, but so is mental wellness, relationship building, and working together to build hope for a brighter future.     Topic 3: Compassion for our neighbors. This is a community crisis, and our solutions must be humanity centered. These are real people, with real lives. We all deserve to live in a community that is built on trust and  Community First Village provides just that. It offers solutions to the many problems this crisis raises, and is truly a light in which the hope for a brighter future can be seen.   Closing Thoughts: We hope this discussion about the homeless pandemic raised some eyebrows and sparked some conversations. But remember, the conversation doesn't stop here. We love hearing from you, our listeners, so be sure to reach out. Until next time, stay curious, stay informed, and keep exploring new ideas. We'll be back soon with another exciting episode of The Informed Citizen.   Call to Action: If you found value in today's episode, please consider subscribing to our podcast and leaving us a review on your favorite podcast platform. Host: Philip Lindholm Guest: Byron Robinson Introduction: Join us as we dive into the world of Capitalism, exploring trends, sharing insights, and engaging in a thought-provoking discussion. Discussion Topics 1: Who is Byron Robinson? From the Olympics to the world of finance, Byron is only just getting started. He brings the mindset of “there is no defense in track and field. If you are not successful in track, its because you didn't do the work”, and applies it to his daily life. This approach is vital to his success, as he attacks the problems surrounding Capitalism in the modern world.   2: People don't believe in Capitalism. Capitalism and Entrepreneurship go hand in hand, and neither are for the faint of heart. These ideals require a high-risk tolerance, vison, ambition, consistency, and discipline which can be challenging. The question of “how can I become a millionaire, when I can't even afford my phone bill”, is a very real scenario for millions of people. But it is possible with the help of Capitalism, to take of what is in front of you today, while keeping the long term goal in mind. Remember, success compounds.   3: Is life Fair? It can be increasingly easy to focus on shortcomings, rather than what is actually advocating in your favor. It is so important to dive deep into yourself, and identify your strengths, and then double down on them. Closing Thoughts: We hope you enjoyed this peak into the world of Capitalism, but remember, the conversation doesn't stop here. We love hearing from you, our listeners, so be sure to reach out. Until next time, stay curious, stay informed, and keep exploring new ideas. We'll be back soon with another exciting episode of The Informed Citizen.
