She also recounts her second LPGA win in 1984 at the inaugural Jamie Farr Toledo Classic, where she outdueled none other than Nancy Lopez on the final day—on her birthday, no less! With vivid stories involving Pat Bradley, Charles Barkley, and iconic tour stops, Lauri gives listeners a candid and heartfelt look at life on the LPGA Tour during its golden era. In Part 2 of our four-part conversation with two-time major champion Jane Geddes, we dive into the incredible early successes that vaulted her onto the LPGA stage—and into the record books. Jane takes us back to 1986, when she burst onto the scene with a stunning victory at the U.S. Women's Open at NCR Country Club. With humility and humor, Jane recounts her mindset heading into the championship, including the surreal feeling of playing in a “bubble,” her unmatched confidence in her swing, and how that week's chaotic backdrop of tornado warnings, evacuations, and even an earthquake couldn't shake her focus.Jane's story doesn't stop with that first major. She followed up her U.S. Open triumph by winning again the very next week—kicking off a remarkable 12-month stretch that saw her notch seven victories, including her second major at the 1987 LPGA Championship. We relive her playoff win over the legendary Sally Little, her bold media remarks that nearly backfired, and her steely resolve to back up her words with her clubs.Jane's insights into her game—how she thrived on tough courses, loved playing in the wind, and used her strengths in ball-striking and confidence to outlast her peers—offer a compelling look at what it takes to break through at the highest level. With stories of competing against Hall of Famers like Betsy King, Nancy Lopez, and Patty Sheehan, this episode paints a vivid picture of one of the LPGA's most competitive eras.Join us as Jane reflects on the whirlwind of success, the challenges of sustaining momentum, and the joy of knowing—if only for a time—what it feels like to truly be in the zone.Give Bruce & Mike some feedback via Text.Support the showFollow our show and/or leave a review/rating on: Our Website https://www.forethegoodofthegame.com/reviews/new/ Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/fore-the-good-of-the-game/id1562581853 Spotify Podcasts https://open.spotify.com/show/0XSuVGjwQg6bm78COkIhZO?si=b4c9d47ea8b24b2d About "FORE the Good of the Game” is a golf podcast featuring interviews with World Golf Hall of Fame members, winners of major championships and other people of influence in and around the game of golf. The central theme of this podcast conversation revolves around the significance of maintaining a positive mindset in golf and life, as articulated by our esteemed guest, Debbie O'Connell from Live Positive Golf Positive. We engage in a profound exploration of how our mental state can profoundly influence our performance, particularly in challenging situations such as a national tournament, where even the most adept players can falter under pressure. Debbie shares a poignant anecdote about a personal experience with golfing legend Nancy Lopez, emphasizing the importance of striving to do one's best, irrespective of the outcome. Our discourse further delves into strategies for managing mental distractions before teeing off, highlighting techniques such as writing down worries or visualizing them as being stored away, allowing for greater focus on the game at hand. Ultimately, we underscore the notion that the golf course serves as a microcosm for life, where our ability to remain present, manage our thoughts, and approach challenges with a constructive attitude can significantly enhance our overall experience.Links referenced in this episode:PaintedHillsNaturalBeefCompanies mentioned in this episode: Painted Hills Natural Beef Live Positive Golf Positive Lead Positive Nancy Lopez This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: OP3 - https://op3.dev/privacy

As prize money gaps between men and women begin to close in many sports, in golf, the pay disparity is still very large. Nelly Korda, winner of five consecutive tournaments, earned less than Scottie Scheffler, who won four. And although current and former players like Korda and Mel Reid have made strides in the game, there's a significant difference in the prize money they receive.A lot of the disparity has been linked to the level of investment in the game. The men's game has seen major cash injections, such as the $2 billion from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund into LIV Golf. Scottie Scheffler and Nelly Korda win again to keep their dominant spring's going this week on their prospective tours. Scottie Scheffler wins the RBC Heritage in a Monday finish as the PGA Tour gets panned for not moving up the tee times on Sunday with impending weather issues. What can stop Scottie at this point? Could this be the year we see the Grand Slam happen? We will discuss Scottie's dominance and if there is anything that can slow him down. Speaking of dominant, Nelly Korda won her 5th straight tournament in women's professional golf. She ties Annika Sorenstam and Nancy Lopez for the most consecutive wins in a row in LPGA Tour history. One thing they both have in common is that the competition seems to melt in the final round when paired with the two world number one players. 15 year old Miles Russell made history this week on the Korn Ferry Tour as he not only made the cut, but had a top 20 finish. The high school sophomore earned himself another Korn Ferry start and received a PGA Tour exemption after this impressive showing. The Zurich Classic of New Orleans is this week and we will have some fun guessing pairings and cannot believe how many players with no business being on the PGA Tour still are playing this week. We kick off 2024 and Season #11 of the Next on the Tee podcast with my guests Tom Patri, Kermit Zarley, Dr. Bob Winters, and Jane Crafter. TP and I get into the deadline that wasn't with the PIF and the PGA Tour. The New Year's deadline came and went and instead of professional golf going into a new year with all this behind them, we got nothing. I also get his thoughts on the power play that some players may be trying to pull off like telling Fred Ridley that The Masters needs to up their prize money. TP also gives us a lesson on what to do if we've contracted the dreaded Y word with our putting. Kermit Zarley played his college golf at the University of Houston. He was the medalist at the 1962 National Championship and helped the Cougars win the team title as well. We hear about what it was like being a part of Houston's domination of men's college golf from the mid-50s to the mid-70s. Kermit then takes us through his 4 wins on tour and what it was like battling Jack Nicklaus at the 1972 US Open at Pebble Beach. We just scratched the surface of his great career. Dr. Bob Winters is back. He is one of the Top Sports Psychologists. He takes us through his 5 Truth Bombs to Help Create Golf Confidence. We also learn about his recent trip to Scotland where he played at Prestwick, the site of the very first Open Championship. His trip also included a stop at Dundonald Links site of the Women's Open Championship. Doc is fantastic and it was great to have him back on the show so quickly. I round out the show with a visit from Jane Crafter. Jane is from Perth, Australia. She is a two-time Australian Ladies Masters Champion plus winner of the 1997 Australian Open. We hear about those tremendous victories plus what it was like battling Nancy Lopez at the 1990 Phar-Mor at Inverrary and being a driving force behind starting the Legends of the LPGA Tour. Jane is a delight and made the segment so much fun.

The body, at every turn, will attempt to rebalance and heal itself, if we just get out of its way.Are you anxious about your pet's health? Is there a problem you're not getting solved at the vet? Are you afraid what the vet prescribed might be doing more harm than good?If this sounds like you, keep reading. There's a solution that works. When I discovered homeopathy thirty years ago, I was intrigued that these little white pellets could heal a being. Over time, that intrigue grew to awe at the power and elegance of this centuries old healing practice. That great minds like Hippocrates knew the basics of homeopathy's “like cures like” premise worked, or celebrities from John Wayne to Jennifer Aniston used homeopathy to treat ailments came as no surprise, since I had witnessed the ability of homeopathy to cure my own, my daughter's and my dogs' illnesses. Even sports stars like David Beckham, Martina Navratilova and Nancy Lopez have credited homeopathy with keeping them at the top of their game.Homeopathy can heal everything from skin allergies and sprains to cancer, if the remedy is chosen correctly and the body has enough life force to trigger a healing. What could be better than helping your dog or cat heal itself naturally, safely and completely, avoiding the long-lasting side effects and high cost of pharmaceuticals? We love these beautiful creatures who make our lives so much better. Loving them in a deeper way means doing no harm and knowing enough to be an active driver of their health plan. That is exactly what my mission is; to teach pet parents a new way to look at health and disease and have the tools to promote vibrant good health and a longer life with their pets.Tune into the Furbabies Podcast YouTube Channel at http://FurbabiesPodcast.tv.Got a question or suggestion for Stephanie and the show? Isn't it Lovely? was thrilled to have the great honor of interviewing golf legend Nancy Lopez during a special live show recorded during Women's Day at The 2022 Sanford International Golf Tournament! Reflecting on her celebrated career, Nancy touchingly leads with a tribute to her first coach and beloved father Domingo, who modeled for her the importance of dreaming big, setting goals, working hard, and always staying positive, even (and perhaps especially) in the face of failure. Nancy shares why it is so important for her to sign every autograph and honor each fan, as well as the ways she balanced her love of family with her passion for her career. There isn't a dry eye in the room as she shares the personal reasons she devotes her time, energy, and resources to some very special charitable causes, as well as how she seeks to empower and encourage women everywhere. Rachel and Tracy attempt to get Nancy to disclose the name of the famous golfer whose questionable behavior unwittingly influenced her unwavering appreciation for her fans and supporters; Nancy asserts that women can indeed run the world - and the entire room agrees.
