“When you tap into the idea that your ability to create is infinite, your whole life will change” – Brandi   Seriously! When you finally see that if you can imagine something and you find a way to make it happen, your life becomes a matter of choice. What projects you choose to do, where you choose to do them, and who you choose to do them with. So really it is a question of impact and what kind of person do you want to be… Our chat this week with creative Kehan Fu has us inspired. When you have the ability to create whatever it is you set your mind to, how can you use your gift to better your community, or even the world?  How do you get there, what kinds of people do you need to connect with, and how do you connect to your community, how do you connect to your "something more". Make some notes about all these points. For example, I am going to ask for that opportunity I have been thinking about for a while, I am going to do my research, be brave, and my first move would be to…__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  If you loved this segment we snagged it from our new book which you can order on amazon and the free audio book code comes inside! Order our new book HERE!  Upcoming Art & Yoga Workshop Workshop Oct 22 12-2:30LAST DAY TO REGISTER!

In this conversation, Christina speaks again with Anne DeSantis, Author, Speaker, Podcast Host, & Non-Profit Director of the St. Raymond Nonnatus Foundation for Freedom, Family, and Faith. This time, we spoke about Anne's new book, Love and Care for the Marginalized: Spiritual Outreach Reflections for Catholics. Our discussion focused upon how each of us can grow in our awareness of who is marginalized as where the marginalized are, and how we can respond as Christ asks us to. Her book consists of 40 reflections designed to help you pray and reflect, but more importantly, to take some small action each day to grow in love and care for the marginalized in your midst--like a homeless person, an immigrant, an elderly person in a nursing home, or an estranged family member. The biggest takeaway for me from our conversation is that the only truly effective action is one combined with prayer, and this is Anne's latest book helps you cultivate that attitude and habit in your mind, heart and soul. Anne also writes for three on-line publications: CatholicMom, Catholic 365, and Catholic Lane, hosts the on-line program called "Journeys in Faith with Anne DeSantis" on Fiat Ministry Network and Patchwork Heart Ministry, and cohosts a weekly podcast with Bill Snyder called the "Sewing Hope Podcast" on Patchwork Heart Ministry, as well. In addition to her apostolic work, Anne is wife, mother, and former homeschooling parent to her two grown daughters, Alaine and Shawn. She and her husband Angelo DeSantis have been married for over 30 years and they reside within the Philadelphia area suburbs, and are both members of the Third Order of Mercy which is a prayerful/active member of the Mercedarian Religious Order. Reggie Seigler is a lifelong resident of the South Side Community of Syracuse NY. His interests are multi-faceted and include music performance, sound & lighting production, audio & video recording, creative writing and community building. Reggie was the co-founder, bassist and bandleader for the Soft Spoken Band, (retired after 35 years), which he used as a platform to build upon his many other interests. He is a board-member of the Stand Newspaper and writes a column called, “A Friendly Five.” The column focuses mainly upon providing exposure for local musicians beyond what little is given by the mainstream media. Reggie firmly believes that “the amount of exposure that an ‘artrepreneur' gets is directly related to how often the phone rings, and the quality of the offers on the other end of the line.”Reggie now focuses most of his creative energies on directing a Not-for-Profit collective called Joined, Artists, Musicians & Singers, Inc (JAMS). The organization is dedicated to connecting Black Artists and other Artists of Color to the regional arts-economy that they are so often disconnected from.

As a Tracy City Council Member, Non-Profit Director, former Planning Commissioner and former Civil Grand Jurist, Ransom has been standing up for families and taxpayers across San Joaquin County for nearly two decades. Shaped by the values of public service, she spent much of her childhood working alongside her grandmother on volunteer projects to connect vulnerable families with medical care, housing, and other critical services. After earning her bachelor's degree from San Francisco State University and a Masters in Public Administration, Rhodesia worked in the private sector for fifteen years. She went on to teach graduate level courses in public finance and business management before moving on to serve the Tracy community that her family has been proud to call home since 2002. Ransom was appointed to serve on the San Joaquin County Civil Grand Jury from 2006-2008, where she served as Vice-Foreman. In her oversight of public agencies across our community, she helped expose millions of dollars in wasteful government spending, and worked to improve efficiency and service delivery across dozens of public agencies. After founding the non-profit Sow-A-Seed Foundation in 2009, she led efforts to bring gang violence prevention programs into Tracy's public schools. The organization now provides counseling, education, and leadership development services to more than 650 area youth each day. Ransom was also appointed to the City of Tracy Planning Commission in 2009, where she served two terms as chair. Performing a critical oversight role on new development projects Ransom's efforts helped create thousands of new jobs and housing units, as well as protecting the public with important new environmental safeguards. In 2016, Ransom was elected to the Tracy City Council, where she has earned a reputation for challenging the status quo and standing up for what is right--from leading efforts to improve transparency and fiscal stewardship in city government, to hiring more police officers and leading a community wide-task force to better coordinate homeless services and expand shelter space. I was fortunate to meet Linda at a Jobs to be Done meetup organized by my friend of many years Alex Salinsky about 3 years ago. Articulate, confident and full of surprises, Linda has a lot to offer the world. She loves to travel solo and has regaled me with tales of her adventures in Cuba, Costa Rica, Colombia and many other exotic destinations. She's a serious lover of family and has graciously invited me to some of her epic family parties both in the South Bay and Sacramento. Patti was born with a rare vision and vibrational capabilities. Receiving her first visitation from God at the age of seven, she was put on a path of being of service. After high school, she began International non-profit work, utilizing and expanding her gift through-out her life until she received yet another visitation at the age of thirty eight and was instructed by God to fully begin walking the path that she was asked to walk as a child. Having absolute faith, five minutes later she resigned from her Non-Profit Director position, and a month later, moved to Georgia as instructed and began her work. Patti has been assisting and teaching people since that day. Patti's work and gifts have been referenced in many books, such as Miracles of the Casa by Josie Ravenwing, a book about John of God in Brasil, Soul Agreements by Dick Sutphen, Radical Remissions by Dr. Kelly Turner to name a few.
