Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded, edited, and ready to help you through the rest of your work week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed Oodle Noodle's origin story, Connor McDavid's return to the lineup, meme coins, and much more. The guys started the Thursday show with a history of Oodle Noodle as the Jay and Wanye-led restaurant chain turned 20 years old on Thursday. From how they formed a relationship with the founder, Sonny, to travelling to Vietnam to formalize the relationship, hearing the Oodle Noodle origin story was a wonderful trip down memory lane.Changing gears, the guys discussed Connor McDavid's return to the lineup on Wednesday night against the St. Louis Blues and how his surprising return was not only welcomed but also incredibly productive. Not only was it incredible to see McDavid back on the ice with his teammates, but to have him go supernova in his first time out was an incredible display of dominance in a game Edmonton needed to win.Unable to stick to one topic for more than a few seconds, the conversation shifted to Wanye's Tyler Yaremchuk A.I. doll, which prompted Yaremchuk to confess that he is Oilersnation. If you've seen the photo, A.I. did a fantastic job creating a Tyler doll, but Yaremchuk worries that people will think he's making these images of himself. Could this be a long con to get Tyler even more hate than he already does online? Stay tuned. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast with a collection of random topics that ranged from the Masters tournament, NBA shenanigans, and some betting talk about all things sports. As always, the Thursday episode of Real Life was as random as it was enjoyable.

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of the Real Life Podcast is here to wrap up your week and help you navigate this crazy little thing called life. Unsurprisingly, the Thursday episode of the podcast was all over the map, with no single topic lasting for more than a few minutes. The guys started the Thursday episode of the podcast by discussing the new studio at Nation HQ and how Wanye is torn about converting one of the rooms into another studio. After spending a minute talking about the new studio, the conversation turned to the Nation Citizens Christmas party at Dogpatch on December 12th. With limited space available, you'll want to reserve a spot early. As you'll hear, the conversation didn't stay on track for long, as Tyler was very distracted by the bets he put down for the Lions vs. Bears game. That also led the guys to get distracted by Yaremchuk's betting sheet after he decided to write down everything he had on a loose-leaf piece of paper. Needless to say, our man puts the work in when it comes to football. Changing gears, the guys spent some time talking about tomorrow's Nation Vacation to Denver and how the logistics leading up to the trip have been hilarious. As you'll hear, the staff from Nation HQ has all kinds of interesting travel quirks, and organizing trips like this brings out the hilarity for everyone involved. Finally, the boys wrapped up the Thursday episode of the podcast with a random collection of topics, including a look at the streamer world, cryptocurrency, and how it's fun for Canadians to mail it in on American Thanksgiving even though it's only Thursday up here. Sure, your boss may expect you to work today, but the reality is that no one is doing much of anything.

Seeing as Baggedmilk, Tyler, and Jay missed the last podcast, Wanye and Chalmers walked through what the boys missed since the boys were able to bring in their childhood friend as a pinch hitter. From there, Tyler was finally able to reveal to Jay and Chalmers that his team cheated at the Oilersnation Open and that the two playoff holes were completely unnecessary. Now that the boys know about Tyler's house of lies, the question becomes whether or not he should have to do both punishments. Being the good sport he is, Yaremchuk humbly accepts whatever is to come.Changing gears, Chalmers talked about how this is the best time of year for sports now that the NFL is back and baseball is heading into its playoff stretch, and how it doesn't get better than having everything happen all at once. Sticking with football, Chalmers went on a rant about how the NFL should be more transparent with player injuries, given how much betting money is put down around games these days. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast with a collection of topics that were all over the map. From Baggedmilk revealing his NFL allegiance to what's happening with Deshaun Watson's standing with the Cleveland Browns to why you need to join the fellas on the Nation Vacation to Denver, the last 15 minutes of Thursday's show were pure chaos. It's a special free agency edition of the Real Life Podcast, and that meant the boys had to get back on the grind and talk about what happened so far on the first day in free agency.Kicking off the podcast, the guys got started with some of the news and stories they didn't have a chance to get to since the last time everyone was in the same room together. From what they did after Game 7 in Florida to Tyler's hotel room having sewage backing up into the sink, there was a lot to get caught up on after the guys hadn't really done a show together in a while.Turning the podcast back to the Oilers, the boys started by looking back at Ken Holland's tenure as the team's GM and whether it was a successful five-year run by him. As you'll hear, the guys aren't willing to give Holland as much credit as others. Despite the fact that the Oilers just made it to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, no one was saying it was a mission accomplished for Uncle Ken. The discussion then turned to what the Oilers did on the first day of free agency: They locked in Viktor Arvidsson to a two-year deal, Corey Perry to a one-year deal, Josh Brown to a three-year deal, and Connor Carrick to a one-year deal. While it was certainly an eventful day, that doesn't mean everyone was totally on board with what happened. Of the moves the Oilers made, it seems like only Arvidsson gets a passing grade from the squad, but it's noteworthy that everyone agrees they're probably not done. Finally, the guys wrapped up the Monday episode of the Real Life podcast with a few stories from Tyler about what it was like to cover the draft in Las Vegas at the Sphere. According to Tyler, it was beautiful to look at the Sphere, but it was one of those things that would have been better experienced in a different setting than trying to do work while the walls were moving. Needless to say, it was a long stretch on the road for old man Yaremchuk.

Corona sacó pecho por la plantilla el día que presentó a Peter Federico pero la segunda vuelta no es para presumir, precisamente. La segunda vuelta es para pedir perdón, ponerse a currar y descararse con Peter Lim para que autorice refuerzos. No fichajes. Refuerzos.

With baseball kicking off today, the guys looked at a few different stories from around the league, including the Shohei Ohtani betting scandal, the Jays' chances of making some noise, and what is going on with the Oakland A's.Lastly, the guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of the Real Life Podcast with some March Madness talk after news started coming out about some of the star players signing huge endorsement contracts. That basketball talk led to further discussion about the Oilers, as the boys square off for a critical matchup against the LA Kings tonight at Rogers Place. Hosted on Acast. Liam's Lions won a big game and he celebrated in typical Liam fashion. Tyler's Bills have a big game today as well, which is why he was trying to rush the guys as much as possible during the hour-long pod.Oh, the Oilers have also won a FRANCHISE RECORD 10 STRAIGHT HOCKEY GAMES! Remember all of those times when you wished Chris Chalmers would be on the pod more? Well how about this: he was the only one who joined Tyler today on the pod. They also called Liam in from the bullpen and had a nice three-man conversation on a whole bunch of topics. They started things off by talking about Chalmer's run through Edmonton Minor Hockey Week and Tyler had some memories of the iconic tournament as well. From there, they talked about everything that went down this weekend in the NHL like the Oilers beating the Canucks and Bruce Boudreau being let go as the Head Coach in Vancouver. How did the Canucks let this get as ugly as it did? They discussed. After that, Tyler welcomed Mike Stelter to the show to talk about the launch of The Ben Stelter Fund and also, the upcoming Ben Stelter Memorial Tournament. Alec Card, one of the event's organizers was also there to tell people what they can expect from the tournament, which is coming up on February 16th. The Stelter family is doing some great work in the community all in Ben's name and talked about the impact of what they've done and how they're growing the fund.If you want more info you can head here: https://stolleryci.crowdchange.ca/27588To wrap things up, Chalmers and Yaremchuk got excited for this weekend's big tournament in Jasper! Have you heard the exciting news?! The Legal Paige now has contracts available for Canadians! If you are a Canadian entrepreneur, TLP can now help you get legally legit. In this episode of The Legal Paige podcast, I introduce the attorney we brought on board to help make Canadian Contracts come to life. Courtney is a Canadian lawyer with a general practice based in rural Saskatchewan. The bulk of her work as a lawyer is focused on corporate law, real estate, and wills and estate administration. She is a wife, mother to a new baby born early this year, and lives on a mixed grain and cattle farm! The Canadian Catalog would NEVER have been able to happen without the help of our gal Courtney and I know you'll enjoy this episode as we dive into all the important differences between Canadian and US law. THE BIG DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE CANADIAN + US LEGAL SYSTEM There are a lot of similarities in the US and Canadian legal system– but the biggest difference between our two country's contracts lies in the boilerplate clauses. (Boilerplate clauses are those legal-language-heavy clauses that are found at the bottom of your contract). This is because the Canadian courts have been really clear about HOW they are going to interpret contract clauses when there is a dispute…so Canadians need to be especially careful with the wording to make sure the meaning is clear to everyone involved. Another huge difference between the two jurisdictions is the type of damages that will be awarded. Canadian courts rarely offer high rewards for damages in any case- whether that's a contract dispute or otherwise. The only way you'll see a high reward is if there was malicious conduct or highly reprehensible behavior (which is rare and hard to prove). Canadian courts DO often offer awards on cost to the winning party– if you go to trial with somebody in a contract dispute and you win, the other party might be ordered to pay your legal costs up to that point. If you're going all the way to trial you are spending upwards of $50,000 in legal fees so it's really important for Canadian business owners to be aware of that and to have their bases covered with strong legal contracts. MORE FROM THIS EPISODE Press play on Episode 141 listen as we dive deep into the nuances between Canadian and US law. You'll learn how Canadians should approach Website Terms and Conditions, the differences between copyright law (i.e. the surprising person that actually owns a photograph in Canada), how Canadians should register their businesses, employment laws to be aware of, how the Canadian Courts have handled Covid and service based contracts like ours, and Courtney's best tips for Canadian business owners. The Legal Paige is so excited to now have Canadian Contracts available in the shop! Courtney has been a major piece in getting our Canadian Catalog set up and is working through converting all of our TLP Products to living Canadian documents. The biggest takeaway I have for Canadian entrepreneurs- and really all entrepreneurs-  is that NOW is the time to get legally legit. Now is the time to get protected. Now is the time to not shove things under the rug to deal with on another day. Your contracts are so important for your business– they are living documents that shift and grow as your business changes and they set the tone in your working relationship with clients. We are gearing up for our biggest sale of the year in just a few short weeks and I don't want you to miss it. We're talking major discounts in our entire contract shop! Head over to tlpinsider.com to be the first to know when our sale goes live.

On today's podcast, the guys looked at Tyler's time in Montreal for the NHL Entry Draft, Reid Schaefer, Oilers rumours, and a whole lot more.To kick things off, the guys got the podcast started with Tyler's airport stories after he got pulled into secondary after his baggage set off the alarms for drugs. Yet, despite the alarms going off, Yaremchuk was able to navigate his way through this case of mistaken identity and back through to his gate. He then told the story about sitting in front of Jay Woodcroft on the plane and how the Oilers' new head coach was a good samaritan to those around him. Would you expect anything less from Woody? Sticking with the Oilers, the guys bombarded Tyler with all kinds of trade ideas of varying qualities and it was clear from the jump that he was not at all interested. Changing gears, Chalmers wanted to talk about the Riverhawks game that he, Wanye, and Baggedmilk all attended on Sunday and how Dr. Randy Gregg and co did an amazing job of giving the park new life. From there, the podcast fell off the rails as the guys talked about everything from rap albums to football to Big Brother and everything in between. Whether he was on Vancouver Island or downtown Van bopping around pubs near the beach, Baggedmilk had an excellent time relaxing on the beach and watching the world go by for the first time in quite a while. From there, the podcast fell off the rails with a conversation about everything from Pimp by Ride to campervans to Jay's Harley that no one other than Wanye seemed to know he had. From there, Wanye told his Moose Jaw story after a former Warrior ended up pressure washing his house and revealing one of the larger misunderstandings you'll ever hear. A new episode of Oilersnation Radio is here to take you into the weekend! It was a bit of a different vibe today on the show as both Baggedmilk and Rick were away so Coomzy and Woz stepped up and filled in. To start today's show, Yaremchuk threw the group a question about what the Oilers backup plan should be in the event they aren't able to bring back Evander Kane. Dan questioned whether or not there is even a comparable replacement out there while Cam wondered if the money would be better spent on goaltending. From there, they talked about NHL blockbuster deals that they remembered as kids and then looked into which teams could make big splashes this summer. One of the team's that popped up in that conversation was the Winnipeg Jets and that led the group to talking about what kind of package the Oilers could put together for goaltender Connor Hellebucyk. To wrap up today's show, they took some listener questions in ‘Ask The Idiots' presented by Busters Pizza. This week's episode got off to a weird start as Yaremchuk asked the guys whether or not they'd rather spend a day 100 years in the past or 100 years in the future? That conversation ended up leading them down countless other paths like how Chalmers enjoyed seeing 'Hamilton' live, how duels used to work, what the sport of hockey could look like 100 years from now, and how technology could change. There was a lot going on and not a lot of it was at all related to our beloved Edmonton Oilers.Yaremchuk opened up about how his house renovations have been going and Chalmers ripped him for a mistake he made while laying down new floors, Wanye shared a gruesome encounter he had with a coyote, and Jay taught Tyler what pocket pool is! There was a lot going on.They did eventually lead to some Oilers talk as they discussed Auston Matthews winning the Hart Trophy over Connor McDavid. There were also a few writers that left #97 completely off their ballot and Wanye wanted to challenge THEM to a duel. They also took a quick look at the Stanley Cup Finals and the controversial call that happened last night between the Lightning and the Avalanche. To kick things off, the guys got the podcast started with a chat about music after Wanye noticed that Baggedmilk was wearing his headphones on the outside of his hoodie for some reason. That somehow led the guys to talk about everything from Kenny G's help in the Kanye/Kim proposal to taking guesses at David Copperfield's net worth, which led to an impromptu game of who's richer. Whether it was comparing Backstreet Boys to N'Sync, the guys spent way too much time arguing about boy bands and whether these guys should still be dancing at their age. Changing gears entirely, Yaremchuk walked us through the #NationVacation to Nashville and how it was an incredible experience for everyone involved. From the game on the ice to the party after the buzzer, Tyler made everyone feel the FOMO after what was undoubtedly an amazing trip down to Nashville. Sticking with the Oilers, the guys walked through the six remaining games on the schedule and what needs to be done before we get that sweet 'X' beside our name in the standings.

Today, they're talking Woz's podcasting career, space documentaries, adding wrestling into hockey, and a whole lot more. Kicking off this week's podcast, the guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a Woz interview as he was sitting in for Yaremchuk who decided to big time everyone and head down to Chicago with Frank Seravalli. From his soccer podcast taking off to landing a gig with the Nation, Woz gave the guys a rundown on his come up on social media and how he turned that into a gig with the Nation Network. Then, almost surprisingly, the guys sprinkled in a little bit of Oilers talk just to make Tyler Yaremchuk happy even though he'll never listen to the show before Wanye and Baggedmilk steered the podcast into the ditch with an array of topics from old Oilersnation history, trips to Vegas, space talk, and anything else they could think of to talk about. As you'd expect when the inmates take over the prison, this episode of Real Life was all over the map and absolutely structureless, and it will be interesting to hear from the listeners what they thought.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
