The good vibes are flowing on a fresh episode of the Real Life Podcast, and honestly… how could they not be? When the Oilers are winning, everything feels better — and the boys dive into exactly why success has completely changed the mood around the team. From strong recent performances to the confidence starting to build, it's a classic reminder that winning really does cure (almost) everything. That leads into a big-time appreciation segment for Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and his place in Oilers history. From being a No. 1 pick who carried unrealistic expectations, to evolving into one of the most reliable, respected, and quietly dominant players the franchise has ever had, Nuge has earned his spot as one of the most loved Oilers of all time. The boys break down what makes him so easy to root for, why fans connect with him, and why his legacy in Edmonton might be bigger than people realize.Of course, it wouldn't be Real Life without plenty of side quests along the way — stories from recent events, crowd energy, food debates, random observations, and the usual off-the-rails moments that make the show what it is. Winning hockey, franchise icons, and immaculate vibes — this one's a fun ride from start to finish. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

It's been another wild week around here with the Oilers rollercoaster making another loop, and I've got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready to recap it all. On today's podcast, I talked about the Oilers' inability to string wins together, Tristan Jarry's first home start, Curtis Lazar's 600th game, and much more.I kicked off this week's episode with a quick recap of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' 1000th game and how cool it was to be in the building for the milestone. Next up was a discussion about why the Oilers cannot seem to win three straight games to save their lives. They've had nine opportunities to string some wins together this season, but for whatever reason, they simply cannot get that third one to go through. Last night, the boys played for 20 minutes instead of a full sixty, but the result was the same. I also spent a few minutes talking about Curtis Lazar's 600th NHL game, and how he's turned himself into a player I want to see in Edmonton's lineup every night. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a guest Righteous Sack Beating before closing out the podcast with another round of voicemails. The voicemail was alive this week, and everyone's takes ranged from what you're nerdy about to Oilers talk and everything in between. The voicemail is the best way to wrap up the show and give everyone a chance to share their thoughts. Another hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to this week's episode. Having all of you in the mix makes the show so much better.Want to leave a voicemail for next week's show? Do it here!
It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' 1000th game, back-to-back shutouts, Kasperi Kapanen's injury, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about when the Oilers might consider talking to Connor Ingram about an extension. Given that our new friend has been playing incredibly well since his recall from Bakersfield, it's fair to wonder whether or when the organization might start thinking about keeping him around for a while. Is it too soon? How much would the boys be willing to offer the goalie in a new contract?Changing gears, we looked at Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' 1000th game that happened at Rogers Place on Thursday night, and how the team did a fantastic job paying tribute to their longest serving player. From the pre-game ceremony to scoring the eventual game winner, it was a wonderful night at Rogers Place and one the guys were thrilled to discuss. Changing gears, the boys looked at the Andrew Mangiapane situation and whether or not there's any way the Oilers can save the relationship. Is that even in the cards? Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. With none of the other boys coming up with anything new, the guys went back to old faithful with a round of Devils-related Baggedmilk Trivia questions. Think you know your New Jersey history? This game was for you. Did the quizmaster have to step in? Did Baggedmilk get his questions right? You'll have to listen to find out for sure. Hosted on Acast. The Oilers had themselves a perfect weekend, and the fellas broke it all down on The Oil Stream. Edmonton cruises to back-to-back wins, outscoring the Canucks and Blues 11–0 in dominant fashion. What's behind the sudden offensive explosion? How impressive has the Oilers' goaltending been? Plus, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins reached a historic milestone, becoming the first Oiler to play his first 1000 NHL games all with Edmonton. How special is that moment? All that and more on today's show! The Oil Stream is presented by Boston Pizza!
It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' loss to the Islanders, the end of Connor McDavid's point streak, Edmonton's goaltending dilemma, line combos, and more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Oilers' goaltending situation and tried to figure out how the team will solve it. Given that carrying three goaltenders is less than ideal, the organization will eventually have to make a decision. Given how well Ingram has played since being recalled, it seems completely unlikely that Connor Ingram will be the one to go, but it's clear that the organization still respects what Calvin Pickard has done in his time here. Shifting gears, the guys looked at last night's loss to the New York Islanders, and Ilya Sorokin absolutely robbed them of two points by standing on his head. Given how well New York's goalie played, it's almost impossible to be too upset about the result, but that didn't stop the boys from being slightly annoyed anyway. They also discussed Andrew Mangiapane being a healthy scratch again and looked at what it will take to get him either in the mix or out of the market. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the 2025-26 season now past the halfway mark, the guys spent the bulk of the podcast moving through a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that's the way things go on the Friday episode of ONR. It's been another wild week around here with the Oilers rollercoaster making another loop, and I've got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready to recap it all. On today's podcast, I talked about Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' 500th assist, more Andrew Mangiapane trade rumours, healthy scratches, Connor McDavid's heater, and much more.I kicked off this week's episode with a look at Ryan Nugent-Hopkins reaching the 500 assist mark in Tuesday's game against the Nashville Predators. Nuge isn't the flashiest player on the roster with Connor and Leon ahead of him, but that didn't stop me from gushing about my guy for a few minutes as he inches closer to 1000 NHL games. I also looked at Kasperi Kapanen's comeback and how quickly he made an impact. From there, I had to touch on the frustration many of us felt yesterday when we saw that both Andrew Mangiapane and Trent Frederic were healthy scratches against the Preds. And the worst part? It didn't look like it mattered. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a guest Righteous Sack Beating, then closed out the podcast with another round of voicemails. The voicemail was alive this week, and everyone's takes were all over the map and very fun for me to listen to. On today's edition of The Oil Stream, the boys recap a huge night in Oil Country as the Edmonton Oilers stomped the Nashville Predators 6–2. They'll break down the brilliance of Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl continuing his absolute dominance over the Preds, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins hitting the milestone with his 500th NHL assist. The fellas will also dive into the scoring depth that showed up in a big way, while discussing Connor Ingram's performance between the pipes. The Oil Stream is presented by Boston Pizza!
On today's episode of 2 Guys & A Goalie, the fellas break down the Edmonton Oilers' 3-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets and dive into everything that went right. They'll talk about the raging Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Calvin Pickard absolutely goalie-ing the Jets, and the Oilers finally getting some much-needed scoring depth with Max Jones finding the back of the net. Plus… what the heck are the Oilers supposed to do with Andrew Mangiapane? What worked, what didn't, and what it all means moving forward. Nielson, Gager and Kass delve into all the Oilers news before shifting their attention to the Olympics to share their thoughts on who should make Team Canada and who should be left off the squad. 2 Guys & a Goalie is presented by GS Construction!
On today's episode of Oilersnation Everyday, Tyler is joined by guest co-host Ryder from The Sauce as they break down the Edmonton Oilers' massive 9–4 win over the Seattle Kraken. It was a full-on point night at Rogers Place, with nearly everyone finding the scoresheet. Connor McDavid led the charge with his 13th career NHL hat trick as part of a four-point night, while Leon Draisaitl, Evan Bouchard, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins all recorded multi-point performances as well. Calvin Pickard picked up the win between the pipes, stopping 28 of 32 shots. We'll run through the full scoring summary, including two goals from youngster Matt Savoie, and dive into the key moments that swung the momentum firmly in Edmonton's favour.Later on, Connor Hrabchak from Winnipeg Sports Talk joins the show to help preview tomorrow's matchup between the Oilers and Jets. After that, we'll roll through our Bet365 weekend betting picks before bringing on Oilersnation writer Caprice St. Pierre to get her thoughts on the recent top-six shuffle, the ongoing goaltending situation, and more. All that and more on Oilersnation Everyday!FAMILY FEUD SURVEY: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdWL_28JO4YGvpTZ0LMyZycP7zaZqIjEMPo05MIVF3EcpxdCA/viewform?usp=headerWebsite: https://oilersnation.com/https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!
It's been another wild week around here with the Oilers rollercoaster making another loop, and I've got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready to recap it all. On today's podcast, I talked about whether the Oilers are turning the corner, kept up with the goalie rumours, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' return, and much more.Just when you might be reaching max frustration levels, I'm back with another round of wondering if the Edmonton Oilers are finally turning the corner. After a strong showing in Seattle on the weekend, the Oilers returned home to face the red-hot Minnesota Wild, and I'm wondering if I'm the only one who wasn't overly pissed off about that loss. I also checked in on the latest round of goalie rumours after things had quietened down quite a bit in terms of Stan Bowman pulling the trigger to get one. Will we get a new goalie before the off-season? Is Stuart Skinner heating up, pushing off the decision for a while longer? Only time will give us the answers, but that didn't stop me from wading in with my takes anyway. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a guest Righteous Sack Beating from Kyle, then closed out the podcast with another round of voicemails. The voicemail was alive this week, and everyone's takes were all over the map and very fun to listen to. It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' upcoming home stand, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' return, Connor Clattenburg sticking with the big club, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about what everyone needs to see from their five-game home stand. With some home games on the schedule for the next week and change, the guys walk through their expectations for this run and whether they can use it to turn the corner. Even if it's not a specific win total, everyone on the podcast just wants the boys to play at a level they're capable of. Changing gears, we looked at Saturday's win over the Seattle Kraken and how the Oilers' big dogs made all the difference. Starting with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' impactful return, the Oilers' longest tenured player was all over the place, and he made an immediate impact with the GWG and an assist while also playing in all situations. We also looked at Edmonton's big four, all getting a goal and an assist in what was one of their most complete wins of the season. Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia, including some Oilers vs. Minnesota-specific questions ahead of tonight's game. If you listened to the last three editions of BM's trivia, you'll know that BM was way off on one of the questions, which prompted Liam to take on the role of trivia marshal and auditor. Craig Button was the first guest on today's show. He started with some kind words on the play of Connor Clattenburg, then touched on the importance of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins on this team. With the Wild being in town tonight, Dusty asked why the Oilers didn't select Jesper Wallstedt? We then looked elsewhere around the league and Winnipeg is where we landed. It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day. After the break, we got into Weekly Confessions presented by Spectrum Rent All. What are the boy's confessing today? Joe Smith from The Athletic capped off hour two with all the insight from the Wild heading into tonight's game.

Let's do this! The Cult of Hockey podcast. By the Faithful and for the Faithful. Today Kurt Leavins of the Edmonton Journal digs into the Edmonton Oilers 4-0 win over the Kraken of Seattle Introduction: In the latest episode of the Cult of Hockey podcast, hosts David Staples and Kurt Levin delve into the Edmonton Oilers' much-anticipated 4-0 victory over the Seattle Kraken. This win comes at a crucial time for the team, signaling a potential turning point in their season. Join us as we explore key takeaways from the game, highlighting standout performances and what it means for the Oilers moving forward. Main Content: Setting the Scene: The Oilers' Need for a Win The Oilers entered this game with a palpable sense of urgency. As David noted, they were a desperate team looking to secure a victory after a string of inconsistent performances. Kurt echoed this sentiment, observing that the team's determination was evident from the first period, as they played with a level of intensity that had been missing in prior matches. Defensive Improvements: A Shift in Strategy One of the most striking aspects of the Oilers' performance was their improved defensive strategy. David pointed out that the team maintained a key player high in the offensive zone throughout the game. This strategy was exemplified by Matt Savoyie who effectively halted a dangerous rush early on. The Oilers seemed more disciplined, resisting the urge to overcommit to offense, a shift that was crucial to their success. Kurt added that the gap between forwards and defensemen shrank significantly, which contributed to a more cohesive defensive unit. This connection allowed for more effective puck movement and minimized turnovers, leading to a more controlled game. Key Player Highlights: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Stuart Skinner Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, returning from an injury, was a standout performer. Kurt praised his versatility, highlighting his contributions on both offense and defense. With a goal and an assist, Nugent-Hopkins showcased his ability to impact all facets of the game. David emphasized how crucial his presence is, especially when paired with talented veterans like Matthias Janmark and Adam Henrique. Together, they pose a formidable challenge for opposing teams, especially after facing the top lines of McDavid and Draisaitl. In addition to Nugent-Hopkins, goaltender Stuart Skinner made significant contributions to the Oilers' victory. David noted his improved technique, particularly his ability to "move and set" effectively in the crease. Throughout the game, Skinner displayed impressive puck-tracking skills, making key saves during critical moments, including a tense five-on-three situation that could have shifted the momentum. Looking at the Standings: A Competitive Western Conference As the Oilers look to build on this victory, they find themselves in a tightly contested Western Conference. David highlighted that despite their struggles, the standings reveal a unique parity this season, with only a few points separating the teams in the Pacific Division. This competitive landscape means that a winning streak could quickly change the Oilers' fortunes as they vie for a playoff spot. Conclusion: The Oilers' 4-0 win over the Seattle Kraken serves as a reminder of the team's potential when they play with discipline and determination. Key players like Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Stuart Skinner stepped up to lead the charge, showcasing the depth and talent within the roster. Moving forward, consistency will be paramount for the Oilers as they aim to capitalize on this victory and climb the standings in a competitive conference.
The Oilers shutout the Kraken in Seattle 4-0! Tom Gazzola, Ben Thomson and Reid Wilkins breakdown a complete effort from the Edmonton Oilers as they come out victorious. Was that the Oilers most complete game this year? How crucial is Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to this team? How good was Skinner tonight? All of these questions answered followed by some great discussion on this edition of The GCL Diesel Oil Stream Postgame Show right here on Edmonton Sports Talk!
It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' inability to play complete games, the lack of offence, the wear and tear from the consistent losses, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about which loss felt worse as a fan of the Oilers: The 9-1 loss to Colorado or the 5-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres. Given that both nights were dreadful to watch, figuring out which of those two stinkers was worse proved to be difficult. As a bonus secondary debate, the guys also tried to figure out how many of the Oilers' 21 games were actually well played. Is the number three good games? Four? Either way, the trend is incredibly troubling.Changing gears, we looked at Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' absence from the lineup and the timeline for his return, which could be until December. Given that he was only supposed to be out for a week, having him miss the bulk of November is certainly a blow for a team that is struggling mightily to score goals. The fellas also looked at other players like Trent Frederic and Andrew Mangiapane, who are expected to fill that void, but they are struggling mightily night in and night out. Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia, including some Oilers vs. Utah-specific questions ahead of tonight's game. If you listened to the last three editions of BM's trivia, you'll know that BM was way off on one of the questions, which prompted Liam to take on the role of trivia marshal and auditor. Alberga, Hahn and Meaney take fan questions around the NHL and discuss the impact of Auston Matthews' injury situation and what to do with other injured players like Valeri Nichushkin, Anthony Stolarz, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Thatcher Demko and Frederik Andersen. Other topics include the upcoming return of Zach Hyman for the Edmonton Oilers, other stashing strategies, buy-low trade ideas and questions about JJ Peterka, the Boston Bruins, Minnesota Wild and more. Then, in "On the Money," presented by Bet365.ca, former NHL goalie Carter Hutton of Daily Faceoff joins to talk division title contenders, NHL Awards races and the biggest storylines around the one-quarter mark of the season. The crew then gives some sides and props for the rest of the week and previews the NHL Global Series in Sweden between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Nashville Predators on Friday and Sunday.
It's time for a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio as the crew sat down to go through all the headlines that have popped up throughout the early stages of Oilers training camp. Tyler, Dan, Liam and Reece kicked off the show by talking about the line combos that we saw during the team's first practice of the season.Who should play with Connor McDavid? Who should take Zach Hyman's spot in front of the net on the powerplay? Will Ike Howard make the team out of training camp? Where should Matt Savoie start the season? They answered all those questions with a handful of delicious debates. They then moved onto some talk about Stuart Skinner, who is down 15 pounds as he comes into camp. They talked about how this could impact his game and why maybe it was an issue last season. With a bunch of new players in different spots around the league, Tyler quizzed the guys on a handful of players who signed with new teams over the summer and one person ran away with this competition. They wrapped with some betting talk, which included a fun question about how many goals Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and how many goals he could score this season, and their hot and cold performers of the week. Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded, edited, and is ready to help you kick off your workweek. On today's podcast, the guys discussed Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' 15th season with the Oilers, the Toronto Blue Jays, the NFL season kicking off, and delved into any other topics that arose. The guys started the Thursday episode of Real Life by welcoming Wanye back to the podcast after he filled in for Jason Gregor on Sports 1440 last week. Wanye always has fun filling in for Gregor, but getting back on the podcast is always refreshing because he's able to say whatever he wants without worrying about swearing live on air. From there, Tyler asked Baggedmilk to blind rank the Top 5 most surprising moments from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' career with the Oilers. Changing gears, the guys started talking a little baseball with a recap of the Houston Astros pitcher situation after Framber Valdez seemingly crossed up his catcher with a 93 mph sinker to the gut. While both players said it was an accident in the media, no one in the baseball world believes them. Sticking with the MLB, Tyler got Wanye caught up on what's been happening with the Blue Jays and how exciting it is to watch them mash their way through the final portion of the season. Finally, the guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of Real Life with a random collection of topics, including Wanye questioning Baggedmilk's Vikings fandom, Drake appearing on Bobbi Althoff's new podcast despite the drama from the last time, and a look at the first week of the NFL season on deck. As always, the Thursday episode of Real Life was all over the map. SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!

It was a mixed crew on Oilersnation Radio today, with three of the regular five taking a break ahead of the weekend. Cam and Kennedy joined Liam and Rick to break down everything that's happened with the Oilers over the past week — which, admittedly, hasn't been much. The show kicked off with a discussion about Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' legacy. Heading into the season, Nugent-Hopkins is on pace to play his 1,000th game as an Oiler. He also has a chance to finish top five in franchise history for points and could become the first player to start and finish his entire career in Edmonton. The question was posed: how should Nugent-Hopkins' legacy be defined?Over the weekend, three Oilers tied the knot, including star forward Leon Draisaitl. Kennedy recapped all the details from the South of France, including who was — and wasn't — in attendance. The crew also discussed the “friendmoon” Draisaitl and Connor McDavid are currently enjoying with their wives, and how that might factor into McDavid's future in Edmonton. The episode wrapped up with another round of Ask the Idiots, followed by the Hot and Cold Performers of the week. The Oilers dropped Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final after a flat start and near-flawless performance from the Panthers, whose depth continues to shine, as each of their top 9 forwards now have 15 or more playoff points. Florida's relentless structure and experience, led by Brad Marchand and Sam Bennett, overwhelmed Edmonton, who sorely missed injured Zach Hyman. Evander Kane and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins struggled, and Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl still haven’t found their top gear in this series. The Oilers’ defensive pairings look fatigued, and goaltending remains a question heading into an elimination Game 6. The pressure is squarely on Edmonton's stars to respond or face another long offseason without a championship.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It was a complete no show for the Oilers right off the hop as the Panthers jumped out to 2-0 in the first period and never looked back. Veteran forward Brad Marchand led the way for Florida, scoring two highlight reel goals. Game 6 is set for Tuesday in Florida. On today's edition of Oilersnation Everyday, we're recapping a huge night in Oil Country as the Oilers defeated the LA Kings 6-4 in Game 6, officially winning the series 4-2 and advancing to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. It was another team effort from the Oilers, with depth scoring leading the way—goals from Connor Brown, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Zach Hyman, and even trade deadline pickup Trent Frederic helped power the team past a Kings squad that simply ran out of answers. From the third period of Game 4 onward, this series belonged to Edmonton, and we'll break down exactly what shifted and what went wrong for LA.We'll go through the scoring summary, deliver our One Big Take, ask the Sherwood Ford Giant Question, and take a trip around the NHL with our Playoff Report to see where the rest of the league's first-round matchups stand.Plus, we'll look ahead to Round 2, where the Oilers will battle the Vegas Golden Knights in a rematch of last year's second round. Another Wednesday means another episode of Better Lait Than Never is wrapped up, edited, and ready to get you through what's left of the week. On today's podcast, we're discussing Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' heater, McDavid and Draisaitl's injury timelines, the #NationVacation to Vegas, and more.I kicked off this week's podcast with a random collection of topics that have happened since last week, including some of the books I'm reading, trying to learn how to use a 3D printer, and how I'm going to be a fancy boy at the Oilers game tonight. As you'll hear, your boy will be in a game-time situation that has only ever happened once before — or when I snuck in — and I couldn't be more excited.Turning the podcast to the Oilers, I had to start with the heater Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has been on over his last four games and how it's so much fun to watch my guy crank it up when the team needs him most. While the start of RNH's season wasn't the most productive offensively, the guy has really turned it on down the stretch. Same goes for Jeff Skinner, who, all of a sudden, has three goals in his last two games after getting bumped up the lineup with Connor and Leon out. Yet, based on the line combos from practice yesterday, our man Skinner could be back to his usual spot on the 3rd line against Dallas. The other story that popped around here this week was the quote from Stan Bowman on Hockey Night in Canada that expressed his confidence in the team's ability to re-sign Connor McDavid to an extension. While Bowman didn't get into any details apart from saying he felt confident they would get it done, the GM's words were music to the fanbase's ears. Sticking with contracts, Jacob Chychrun signed a massive extension with Washington yesterday, which led to a discussion about how that deal will affect Evan Bouchard's upcoming contract negotiations. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a Righteous Sack Beating about my trip to WEM before wrapping up the podcast with another round of voicemails. While the voicemail was quieter this week, the messages that did get left were very funny and all over the map. As always, finishing up the show with your opinions is my favourite part of the whole thing and something I always look forward to.
It's Tuesday afternoon, and a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is set, edited, and ready to massage your earhole. On today's episode, we discussed Evan Bouchard's next contract, McDavid and Draisaitl's injury timelines, Jeff Skinner, and much more. We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about a neighbour in Dan's hood who keeps running his diesel truck for extended periods every day. As you'll hear, the neighbour is clearly trying to troll his neighbours with his vehicle, which led the guys to offer a range of solutions, from calling the bi-law officer to being much more petty than that. As a bonus delicious debate, Tyler wanted to know how the Jacob Chychrun extension in Washington will impact Evan Bouchard's upcoming negotiation. Needless to say, it's going to get expensive. Changing gears, we looked at the updated injury timelines for Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl and how the Oilers will be without their two stars for (at least) the next three games. Given that the Oilers have some winnable games — Dallas aside — over the next week, it's not the worst idea to give the team's two best players a little some extra time to get healthy. The good news, however, is that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has caught fire over the last week or so, and having the secondary scorers start to warm up certainly helps the decision. The tricky part of the situation is that the secondary scorers need to keep chipping in.Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a discussion about Connor McDavid's contract extension after a quote from Stan Bowman on Hockey Night in Canada had the fanbase buzzing. We also walked through some NHL and CFL futures in our betting segment for bet365 before wrapping up the podcast with a round of keys to victory ahead of Wednesday's matchup with the Dallas Stars. Monday afternoon means a new episode of the Real Life podcast is recorded, edited, and ready to kick off your week. On today's podcast, the guys discussed coffee vs. energy drinks, the Moose Jaw Warriors, Succession's TV takeover, and much more.Tyler wanted to start the Monday episode of Real Life with a conversation about Jay reusing his coffee cup for water. Somehow, Jay's reusing his coffee cup led to a lengthy discussion about coffee vs. energy drinks and how Nation HQ has a pretty equal split of employees who consume one or the other.Wanye shifted the conversation to the Moose Jaw Warriors after the team's season is already winding down after winning the league championship last season. If anything, seeing Moose Jaw struggle the season after spending all of their draft capital for the change to build a one-year winner should be a reminder of what can happen when you go all-in so aggressively.Turning the podcast to the Oilers, Tyler recapped the charity event he was at last night that featured Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. As you'll hear, it was fun for Tyler to experience a night with the Nuge and also included an interesting observation that you'll love to hear about city's favourite son. As it turns, out Nugent-Hopkins is as nice as you'd ever hope he is and Tyler was all to happy to confirm it.Finally, the guys wrapped up the Monday episode of Real Life with a random collection of topics, including Tyler's big betting wins, the Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl injury timelines, Trent Frederic's giant hands. As always, the Monday episode of Real Life was all over the map, precisely what you'd expect from this podcast.
