Should the Pirates sign Andrew McCutchen to a cheap deal in an attempt to replace Ozuna and pick up a bat that can hit lefties? Mullsy does not think that this would be a good idea at all, to which Poni disagrees and thinks it is worth a shot. The Pirates cannot hit lefties this year at all, and they do not have any good options of right-handed bats in Triple A. Some of the available options on waivers for right-handed bats include Jorge Soler, Lane Thomas, or Joey Wiemer. Former Pirates slugger and current broadcaster Kevin Young joined the show. KY thinks that the biggest reason why Marcell Ozuna's stint with the Pirates didn't work out is because age is undefeated, and father time caught up to Ozuna. He also says that it felt like Ozuna didn't have a good feel for where the barrel of his bat was whenever he would swing. Kevin doesn't buy that Ozuna's lack of playing time contributed to his struggles, and mentions that Ozuna had a ton of opportunities early in the season to get into a groove, and he was very bad. Kevin says that it isn't surprising that Esmerlyn Valdez is going through a rough patch, as he is still very young. McCarthy Minute – What did Mike McCarthy say to the media today? McCarthy talked a lot about getting the young offensive linemen reps in camp. There has also been a lot of talk about Roman Wilson, and apparently the 3rd year receiver is running with the first team right now.

This week we discuss the Royals' Trade Deadline, or rather, lack of trades that happened. We like what we got from the trades we made, but it seemed like they left some at the table. Lane Thomas, Bailey Falter, and Kris Bubic being the only subtractions means there's a few impending free agents they didn't take advantage of. They were unwilling to move Seth Lugo and Michael Wacha to compete next year…Which we understand Wacha, but Lugo? Jackson plays devils's advocate to see what could happen due to them keeping both arms. Overall, just an underwhelming deadline for a handful of reasons. Vladimir Guerrero exited with hamstring tightness, sparking major fantasy concern. Joe Bond breaks down the latest injury fallout and dives into key Trade Targets to make before the deadline. Plus, get today's FanDuel Bet of the Day: TOR @ WSH O9.5 (-104). In news and injuries, Vladimir Guerrero left early with hamstring tightness, Byron Buxton was pulled with hip soreness, and Casey Schmitt suffered a torn meniscus. Meanwhile, Curtis Mead landed on the IL, Adley Rutschman is set for evaluation, Jack Flaherty remains out beyond the minimum, Oneil Cruz and Corey Seager are starting rehab assignments, and J.T. Ginn completed a bullpen session. Today's studs feature Eduardo Valencia, Dominic Canzone, Shohei Ohtani, Sal Stewart, Julio Rodriguez, Yordan Alvarez, Max Muncy, Sandy Alcantara, Logan Henderson, Taj Bradley, Griffin Jax, Gavin Williams, and Gage Jump. Duds include Jeremy Pena, Hunter Goodman, Lane Thomas, Wyatt Langford, Ke'Bryan Hayes, Michael McGreevy, Michael King, Landen Roupp, and Paul Sewald. For this week's Trade Targets segment, we look at Kevin Gausman as a candidate who could be moved out of the AL East to a contender for extra win potential. Freddy Peralta also appears likely to move and benefit outside of New York, while Brandon Pfaadt remains a sell high despite his hot streak. Finally, target non-contending closers who could be dealt into volatile bullpen roles. First Cup Fantasy Baseball drops every weekday around 9 AM ET on The F6P Hour. Arizona Diamondbacks ace Zac Gallen has officially been placed on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation. Corey Pieper breaks down a massive pre-All-Star break injury wave, highly anticipated star activations, the weekly Waiver Wire segment, and the FanDuel Bet of the Day. The pre-break injury report is absolutely devastating for fantasy rosters as Kyle Harrison hits the injured list with a forearm issue prompting Robert Gasser's recall, Matt McLain lands on the shelf with a strained left calf, and Mike Yastrzemski goes to the 10-day injured list with left elbow inflammation. Additionally, American League All-Star Nick Kurtz lands on the 10-day injured list with a right thumb capsule sprain, Nick Lodolo hits the injured list with a blister, Blaze Alexander suffers a hand fracture, and Emerson Hancock was removed from his outing after taking a line drive. Roster managers must also navigate Jacob deGrom missing his next start, Shohei Ohtani skipping a start with left knee inflammation, Bo Bichette sitting out all weekend, and Jacob Misiorowski having his start skipped for developmental inning management, though fantasy managers receive major boosts with Wyatt Langford, Jeremy Pena, Ryan Jeffers, Vinnie Pasquantino, and Munetaka Murakami all activated from the injured list, alongside Edwin Diaz launching a rehab assignment and Emiliano Teodo making his MLB debut. Daily performance metrics highlight a loaded group of standouts as Sean Burke, Hunter Greene, Tristan Peters, Esmerlyn Valdez, Jake Bauers, Gage Jump, Kyle Karros, Tyler Mahle, James Wood, Cam Schlittler, Cristopher Sanchez, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., James McCann, Manny Machado, Paul Skenes, Lane Thomas, Gunnar Henderson, Alex Bregman, Zach Thornton, Joey Cantillo, Brayan Rocchio, Noah Schultz, Taj Bradley, Brandon Nimmo, Trevor McDonald, and Kevin Gausman all deliver big games, while Parker Messick battles Sandy Alcantara and Zack Wheeler duels Tarik Skubal. Conversely, a handful of prominent options flatlined, with Shea Langeliers posting a three-strikeout collar, Carson Benge going 0-for-4 with three punchouts, Otto Lopez finishing 0-for-5 with four strikeouts, and Braxton Ashcraft, Willy Adames, Freddy Peralta, Trey Yesavage, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Spencer Torkelson, Ian Seymour, and JT Ginn all struggling into the duds section. Our weekly Waiver Wire segment provides direct tactical targets to optimize your active roster heading into the midsummer break, isolating top priority free agents who can fortify your categories for the second-half push.
