My guest in this episode is Justin Ho, the winner of the Best Feature Film 2025 at the International Mobile Film Festival in San Diego on April 27. Justin shot “Broken Pieces” with the iPhone 14 Pro. This episode is the first of a two part interview recorded March 27. Meeting Justin in person felt like the frosting on the cake. The second part of the interview, episode 214, will be out next week. Justin goes a deeper on some topics. Including some he mentions in part one. In this episode we discuss his feature film which was 1 hour and 23 minutes long. Justin discusses his film, an early start with cameras, cinematography in college and for his film, and details about the making of the film, without giving away too much. Except…there's an incredibly well shot chase scene. Find out how he pulled it off. In any journey, there are times of intense struggle and a push to move forwards, balanced by periods of rest to regain our strength. Physical rest comes so easily to us but finding spiritual rest can be a real challenge. If we can allow ourselves to be led by Jesus into his rest we will find ourselves filled and ready to journey with him again.

A Renewed Heart Brings a Renewed Lifestyle: Acts 2:42-47 It may appear that the early Christians lived in idyllic Christian communities. New Testament letters addressed the many tensions and problems that existed. But this description of lifestyle in the early Jerusalem church does give us some clues as to how our lifestyle might change as God moves in revival. First, there will be a greater passion to spend time with God and grow in relationship with him. Second, we will want to be together more to encourage and disciple and serve and share with and pray with each other. Third, we will have a much stronger awareness of the presence and power of God. Where will all this fit into our present daily routines? There will be significant sacrifices along with wonderful new experiences of God.
Things I've Learnt - Dry Bones Coming to Life
We spend a great deal of our lives doing. Doing the housework, doing the job. Building the career. Taking the kids to football. Doing the ironing. Having the meetings. Giving the presentation. Making dinner. So what I am, is it what I do? Am I the sum of all that I do? Or am I not just what I do? In this episode Sam Pearce of Swatt Books and I discuss what makes us who we are.
In the first episode of Strangers in Conversation, your host (Emilia Feltner) talks to Sam Pearce. Sam is originally from Massachusetts and still lives on the East Coast.
