Elliott's back, and he's representing most of Cubs fandom with an opening rant for the ages! After digging into the Cubs' relative inaction this offseason, Ron leads the Team on a discussion of the Cardinals' usual operation: Making one big move (e.g. Goldschmidt, Arenado, Contreras) and then sitting back and doing nothing to fix the starting rotation. Major League Baseball players may receive an award for outstanding defense at their position. These are called Gold Gloves. One is awarded for each position on the field in each league. Perhaps less well known is the Platinum Glove. Only one is awarded in each league each year. It recognizes the best defensive player in that league. Only a few players have won the Platinum Glove. Only five have won it more than once. Nolan Arenado of the St. Louis Cardinals won his sixth straight Platinum Glove this year. If you tried to recount all the good plays Arenado performed over the past six seasons, you'd be hard pressed to name them all. The award is not about one outstanding play. It is given to the best player who constantly makes great plays. A similar problem exists when discussing God. He did spectacular things in creating the world and raising Jesus from the dead . But he has performed many more outstanding acts. That's what Psalms 40:5 says, “Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.” (NIV) This week we're focused on trusting God to rescue us from problems. This verse tells us why we can trust him. He has performed more wonders than we can recount.

Illinois football continues to climb in the rankings, following a 26-9 win at Nebraska. Craig Choate and Logan Lee recap and look ahead to the matchup with Michigan State in this episode of No One Asked Us. Illinois and the Spartans kick off at 3:30 ET on Big Ten Network on Saturday from Champaign. Not much movement in the Big Ten Power Rankings this week. We got our first glimpse of the new-look Illinois basketball team on Friday, a 87-52 win over Quincy. Coleman Hawkins and RJ Melendez lead the way scoring with 15, Hawkins also grabbed 12 rebounds.
