So many catchers in this snack size episode.  We've got pinky injuries, rolled ankles, welcome back dingers with glasses, and only dingers against Toronto. The Orioles help build an outdoor classroom at Harlem Park Elementary with a donated playoff share, and players fill its library with their own favorite books.  Pottymouth is well aware that she should roster her NYY bf but you can't take the Boston out of the fantasy team manager. What happened to Mike Trout is NOT what happened to Mookie Betts, it's not against the rules, but please stop doing it anyway. Duran is missing a huge opportunity to atone for past mistakes and change lives, but nope. Please read this piece by Kevin Blackstone in the Washington Post about the team of Jackie Robinson visiting the Trump White House.  We would have just ranted, but he just lays it all out there, calm, cool, and cutting. Pottymouth walks us through all the connections between the tragic roof collapse of the Dominican nightclub and so many MLB players. Patti picks “person in front of whom all ideas for alternate team identities must be run before selection” as her next career.  The River Cats/Gold Diggers really put her over. Puerto Rico looks like the only place we can stand to visit for WBC games – want to join us?We say, “Rivaling this on the classy scale…” “Honorable mention to a non-croucher,” and “That's so much more concise for all those words I just said…” Fight the man, send your game balls to Meredith, get boosted, and find us on Bluesky @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. The Nats fell behind right away and lost to the Dodgers 6-5 on Wednesday afternoon to halt the win streak.  Mark & Al begin with Jake Irvin, who had one of odder outings you will ever see.  Irvin gave up four runs to the first four batters up, but then retired 18 of the final 21 Dodgers he faced.(12:00) The bullpen unfortunately continued their stretch of giving up a run every game this season.  Eduardo Salazar took over for Irvin, but gave up a pair of runs in the 7th to give the Los Angeles the lead for good.(15:15) The offense quickly overcame the early four run deficit after Luis Garcia Jr.'s RBI double in the bottom of the 3rd.  They collectively showed patience at the plate by drawing seven total walks. CJ Abrams hit a leadoff homer, his 4th time going deep this season.(19:30) Do you prefer James Wood in LF or at DH?  Wood played LF on Wednesday and drew two walks while going 0 for 3 at the plate.(25:20) Washington is off on Thursday and on Friday in Miami they embark on a 3 city/ 10 game road trip with no off days in between.(27:30) We remember a member of the 2005 Nationals Tony Blanco, who tragically passed away this week in the Dominican Republic in the nightclub accident that also claimed Nelson Cruz's sister & former MLB pitcher Octavio Dotel.

He's never been able to hit. Does he get a shot in Kansas City?2.The Nationals non-tender Kyle Finnegan, and he is now a free agent. I'm not sure I get this one. They couldn't trade him?a.Who do you like to get saves in Washington?3.The Rockies non-tender Brandon Rodgers. I guess this makes sense as he was due for a raise (estimated at $5.5 million), and let's face it, he's not that good, and there are plenty of options.a.Who do you think gets his playing time?4.Finally, the Blue Jays non-tender Jordan Romano. He was estimated to earn $8 million and it appears that the Jays didn't want to take the risk on whether he would return to form. He seems to be getting better with age. What are the odds he gets close to his 39/104 with a .302 batting average in 2025?d.What did you think of the trade for Griffin Canning? He has pretty good stuff with a plus change-up and slider, but his fastball gets crushed (.529 SLG). Can the Braves perform magic again here?i.I wrote this before he got non-tendered. It was a “pretty fun day” for Stephen Vogt, named manager for the Guards, less so for David Ross in the surprise loss of his CHI gig, and downright polarizing in regards to Craig Counsell's historic contract prompting another manager to muse about unionization. The Gold Glove and Silver Slugger awards lead Mauricio Dubón for multiple Honduran firsts, Ha Seong Kim to a first for Asian-born MLB players, and a Pottymouth first as she finally remembered to vote for Platinum Glove. We ponder the steady increase in Tommy John surgeries (more diagnoses or more stress on arms?) and consider staying away from where GMs gather to avoid stomach bugs. Oakland's mayor incorporates swag and economic greed in her appeal to owners to vote against an A's move to Vegas. Nelson Cruz concludes his LIDOM farewell tour in time for Citifield to welcome Los Tigres del Licey and Las Águilas Cibaeñas for a three game series to packed houses. Rush's Geddy Lee, with a surprising amount of baseball cred, prepares to auction 300 items from his stunning collection of baseball memorabilia. Please support USA Baseball's Anna Kimbrel in her Baseball at Heart effort to fund more girls baseball clinics in Uganda. We say, “more Rockers in baseball,” “multiple Funnars,” and “he chews too much tobacco to be my boyfriend.”  Fight the man, send your game balls to Meredith, get boosted, and find us on Twitter @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. After supporting the local adult-beverage economy in honor of Pottymouth's birthday, we give a little love to the World Series, including the parade with dogs, flying beer, mic drops, and possibly chaps, and move on to Hot Stove Season. Patti previews what to expect when – options accepted and declined, qualifying offers, trades, and full-on free agent negotiations. We ponder big moves like Joey's lifetime with CIN coming to a close, and Nelson's lifetime in the sport winding down. Mookie makes a questionable judgement call.  MLB's settlement with the Valley Cats and the Sea Unicorns ends another opportunity for the Supreme Court to re-examine baseball's anti-trust exemption. Elly De La Cruz has a first pitch in LIDOM, Cesar Hernandez is lighting up LVBP, and the CPBL's convoluted playoff system is in full swing. MLB Awards season has begun with the MLBPA Player's Choice awards, honoring Ronald, Shohei, Corbin, and Gunnar, looking like a preview of upcoming MVP and ROY nods. Aaron Judge wins the Roberto Clemente Award this season for the work of his All Rise Foundation which is well-deserving of a look.  Patt wants you to read Doris Kearns Goodwin's “Wait Till Next Year.” We say, “beer goggles for your ears,” “Corey Seager would make a great guard at Buckingham Palace, and “assless chaps on fire.” Fight the man, send your game balls to Meredith, get boosted, and find us on Twitter @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com.
