We had the pleasure this week of welcoming him to the podcast for episode 262 where we were able to dive deeper into his longstanding journey to this point! Being around music early on he told us about his love for Pasadena and the many memories created with his father through the family music store while also being introduced to rapping and song writing coming up. Touching on his journey as an artist he described the importance of following his own personal timing to put his first body of work out there after many years of changes in his life and career. During the process he also touched on how vital people like R8dio, Hit-Boy and Jansport J were in the process by allowing him to soak in positive and creative energy within their many studio sessions. This energy also carried over to his 2024 effort “Life.Death.Somewhere Between…” and the next batch of music he's set to release in the second half of this year. Among those releases will include a 4 track EP and a full length album that's set to feature a lot of his close friends and collaborators within the local music scene. We're thrilled to have had this convo with Bellez and am excited to keep supporting his work moving forward! Kill Holiday, formed by members of San Diego hardcore band Unbroken, made a surprising shift from aggressive post-hardcore to dreamy shoegaze with their 1999 album Somewhere Between the Wrong and the Right. Released on Revelation Records, the album channels British influences like Ride and The Stone Roses, with shimmering guitars and laid-back, melancholic melodies. Despite its shoegaze and Britpop sound, the album resonates with the emotional core of the emo genre, more in feeling rather than form, standing out as a reflective, genre-crossing record from a label known for hardcore.   Songs In This Episode Intro - Somewhere Between the Wrong Is Right 11:49 - Someday You Will Lose and I Will Win 18:21 - Know You Your Friends Are Outro - In Closing (Memorial Day)   Support the podcast, join the DMO UNION at Patreon.
