We love our mid-century houses for many reasons - their enduring design, clean lines and great indoor/outdoor connections. But MANY mid-century homes, both modest and high end, share one glaring omission. They lack of a proper mudroom. This design flaw often vexes my clients and students. Our families and pets come with a whole lot more "stuff" than they did in the 50s and 60s! Let's explore how Mid Mod Midwest has solved the "garage to house” transition problem to offer options for a functional entry that truly works. In Today's Episode You'll Hear:Which entry spot is always the WORST…and is super common in mid-century ranch homes. How to tuck the storage you need into a modest footprint. When you might want more than one mini-mudroom. Get the full show notes with all the trimmings at https://www.midmod-midwest.com/2202Want us to create your mid-century master plan? In this episode of Social Media Decoded, Michelle Thames shares the behind-the-scenes strategies and lessons learned from selling out her 50-person event—and even having standing room only. Discover what it takes to plan, promote, and execute an unforgettable event that not only delivers value to attendees but also converts them into clients. Michelle reveals the tips most people won't tell you, from overselling strategically to creating an irresistible experience and selling from the stage with confidence. What You'll Learn in This Episode The importance of overselling your event to account for no-shows. How to build excitement and a sense of community before the event starts. Strategies for a high show-up rate, including email reminders and private group chats. The keys to delivering value and weaving your offer naturally into your event. How to handle unexpected situations, like a standing-room-only crowd, and turn them into part of the experience. The power of simplicity and teamwork in executing a successful event. Deliver Value First: Provide actionable insights and strategies that attendees can implement immediately, making your offer feel like the natural next step. Welcome, dear listeners, to another podcast edition of the One Life Left video game radio show and another set of lovingly hand-crafted, "artisanal", show notes with zero AI influence whatsoever! This week Simon holds in his wee to bring you this show, we mention something questionable (but definitely biological so it's OK) at least twice, Ryan Reynolds' Wrexham football club (and nobody else) get promoted, games devs should get tip jars, COD players moan about something that nobody is forcing them to buy, Baldur's Gate 3 wins things and Charlesbot has some exclusive BAFTA after party gossip just for you! We also have computing memories and Ste plans to kill the games industry. Nothing major. Tell all your friends about us and get your friends to tell their friends and so on... As moms it is all too easy to get caught up in all the little details of our individual days. There is so much on a mom's plate that it demands all of our attention. But in the midst of all the diapers, playdates, school field trips, extracurriculars, and screen time limits is our singular precious life. And if we aren't intentional about zooming our perspective out to see the big picture, we wind up with an overflowing bucket of regret to contemplate on our death beds. Join life coach and mom of four, Amanda Haro, as she revisits a F*ck It Mothering Greatest Hit, "Standing Room Only Funeral". We'll talk about how to keep our brains focused on what truly matters in life and how to live with intention so moms can leave their kids with a beautiful legacy of a life well lived. Justin and Bec take a closer listen to Elvis' sessions from March 1972 at RCA Studio C in Hollywood, which gave us iconic hits like "Burning Love," "Always on My Mind" and "Separate Ways" along with several cuts relegated to B-sides and later LPs. They also ponder what might have been, looking at the cancelled 1972 album "Standing Room Only," that would have been largely comprised of this studio material mixed with live tracks from a Vegas engagement earlier that year. Bec is in the hotseat for a round of Elvis trivia early in the episode, then for Song of the Week, she picks the deep cut "I Want You With Me" from 1961's "Something for Everybody" while Justin digs into "I've Got Confidence" from a different 1972 album, "He Touched Me"! If you enjoy TCBCast, please consider supporting us with a donation at Patreon.com/TCBCast. Your support allows us to continue to provide thoughtful, challenging and well-researched perspectives on Elvis's career, his peers and influences, and his cultural impact and legacy.

Today's guest is the author of one of my most favorite books, An Intentional Life: A Life-Giving Invitation to Uncover Your Passions and Unlock Your Purpose. I was so excited when Kara Stott quickly agreed to be on the podcast, and we became fast friends. She's passionate about connecting women and helping them grow in their relationship with the Lord, to understand their calling and to step out into the things God has asked them to do. But after working so hard building up her Pursuit Ministry, at what looked like the pinnacle of her success, God called her to lay it all down. Through that act of obedience, she began to understand what the really important things in life are. This book talks about her journey to live an intentional life that honors God, your family, your church, community and yourself. One of my favorite observations she talks about in this episode is when she says, "If Jesus spent 30 years in family and three years in ministry... we have this all backward." That was an eye-opening statement for me. Kara also shares her heart for the family table, her husband's struggle with PTSD and one of the fun things she and her husband do to keep their marriage fresh and focused on each other. We cover so much good stuff in this episode I know you'll walk away with lots of new ways to live an intentional life.
This week, the guys had an unexpected fire lit under them. But instead of sitting and taking a pounding, they pushed back, leaned into the pressure, and ultimately stood together in the end. They discussed the unexpected rise of Matt Rife, unsung heroes of comedy, unnecessary graduations, and unregulated weed. ”Stop judging my life by my possessions. Start thinking about how many headlights will be in my procession”. -Tim McGraw "Standing Room Only" How will you be remembered? How did you impact the lives of the people you interacted with? Will you be missed? This episode is dedicated to Mike Romano- an amazing person who is winning the battle against leukemia. His current journey brought Heath to a place where he was inspired to live his life in a whole new way- and it was when another person who was also an amazing inspiration had passed away. And that funeral was literally "standing room only" with a waiting line that was around the block and hours long. What will it take for you to live the version of yourself that you will be proud of when you die? "Start forgiving and start forgetting. Be somebody that's worth remembering.
