Donald Trump en Elon Musk zijn de Muppet-mopperkonten Statler en Waldorf van de Amerikaanse politiek aan het worden. Wacht even: was Elon niet Donalds favoriete maatje? De man met de kettingzaag en de Hitlergroet? De chef-massaontslag? De spectaculaire sponsor die een kwart miljard stak in Donalds verkiezingscampagne? De bromance is geëindigd in knallende ruzie. Oorzaak is dat Musk als chef-massaontslag heeft gefaald. Hij beloofde de regering 2000 miljard dollar te besparen, moest dat zelf al snel corrigeren: het werd ‘maar’ 1000 miljard. Uiteindelijk kwam hij op 175 miljard uit, maar volgens de BBC is dat geflatteerd en komen de Musk-bezuinigen niet verder dan 32,5 miljard. Dat is nog steeds een idioot hoog bedrag, maar zijn missie met het speciaal voor hem opgerichte DOGE ministerie was mislukt. Dus weg met hem, vond Trump. Musk liet het er niet bij zitten. Hij begon een spijkerharde campagne tegen Trumps ‘Big Beautiful Bill’, de bijna duizend pagina’s tellende wet die alles tegelijkertijd moet regelen, van migratie tot permanente belastingverlaging. De wet waarover het Congres het langste debat uit zijn geschiedenis heeft gevoerd. De wet die volgens Musk de ondergang van de Verenigde Staten betekent, vanwege de dreigende apocalyptische staatsschuld. Musk wil zelfs een politieke partij opzetten. Eens even kijken, zei Trump. Tesla, SpaceX en Starlink profiteren enorm van belastingvoordelen en overheidssteun. Laten we daar eens mee stoppen. En trouwens, we gaan ook eens kijken of we Musk kunnen uitwijzen en terugsturen naar Zuid-Afrika. Dat laatste is nog best spannend, want Musk kwam naar de VS als student, maar begon in plaats daarvan zijn eerste bedrijven op te zetten. Door niet eens op college te verschijnen en betaalde arbeid te verrichten, beging hij een misdrijf, want een studentenvisum eist studie en verbiedt, behalve een bijbaantje, werk. Musk, genaturaliseerd Amerikaan, heeft dat alles trouwens nooit ontkend, maar volgens de regels die gelden voor de huidige klopjacht op illegale immigranten kan hij zonder meer worden opgepikt en uitgewezen. Sterker nog, de regels voorzien niet in verjaring. Onder druk van Musk begon Trump dit voorjaar een soort luchtbrug naar Amerika voor witte Afrikaner boeren, die volgens Musk dreigden het slachtoffer te worden van genocide door zwarte misdadigers – dit alles gesanctioneerd door de Zuid-Afrikaanse regering. Er zijn wel problemen, maar dit was een broodje aap verhaal. We horen het Trump al zeggen: Elon is geen Afrikaner boer, heeft de visumwet overtreden en verliest zijn Amerikaanse staatsburgerschap. On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic nominee for mayor of New York City, is a Marxist and an Islamist who supports Hamas slogans, the BDS movement, and holds anti-Semitic views, though he reportedly denies these claims. If voted Mayor of NYC he will cause New York City's decline, with good people leaving and radical Islamists arriving.  Mamdani's positions, including his criticism of Israel and Marxist beliefs, are incompatible with American values and pose a threat to New York City, particularly given its large Jewish population. Mamdani's nomination reflects a broader strategy by Islamists to infiltrate American institutions. We need to confront these ideologies directly. Also, ‘Pardon Me' Steve Bannon is deceiving hardworking, middle-class, blue-collar conservatives and MAGA supporters. Bannon is a con artist who leaked information against President Trump and his family, resulting in his White House dismissal in Trump's first term. He is fake MAGA, exploiting the conservative movement for personal gain; we need to recognize his deception. He is the establishment and is undermining Trump's presidency. Later, Trump explained of Truth Social that he was shocked that there was an ongoing legal witch hunt against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite his leadership in a historic victory against Iran. Netanyahu is an unparalleled warrior who eliminated a significant nuclear threat. Trump demands the trial's immediate cancellation or a pardon for Netanyahu. Finally, Rep Byron Donalds calls in and defends Trump's decision to neutralize Iranian nuclear sites, calling it the absolute right call and praises Trump for succeeding where past presidents, particularly Obama and Biden, failed by empowering Iran through misguided policies like those of Robert Malley.
