True Faith Part 4Jesus said, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness," and "Blessed are the merciful." We often want justice when someone else is guilty, but mercy when we are the ones in need. In the story of Zacchaeus, Jesus shows us that true faith values both. Justice says the wrong really matters. Mercy says the wrongdoer is not disposable. And in Jesus, both come together.

Paul's imprisonment and trial before Felix reveals the injustice of his adversaries, the true justice which God brings, and God's continued work and purpose even while we wait.
We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions. True Justice Eye for an Eye has the Justice Warriors back on the case, and Eric is giving it 4 stars. The pacing is sharp, the ensemble cast earns their screen time, and the camera work during the crime scene sequences is genuinely impressive. But when Eric and Andrea get into the actual mystery, they both land in the same place: the whodunit itself might only deserve a 2.WHAT YOU'LL HEAR• Why True Justice Eye for an Eye works as a movie even when the mystery doesn't fully connect the dots, and how it compares to the first True Justice• The VR break-in scene that was exciting and also almost certainly a felony, and the question neither host could answer: how did they get out of Kimber's house?• Katherine McNamara's wig, which Eric calls the second-worst in Hallmark history, and why it was more conspicuous than any disguise should ever be• The True Justice 3: Lost Love listing that already exists on IMDb, plus Eric's prediction for when it actually airs• Trivia: Katherine McNamara's role as Mia on the superhero series Arrow, and writer Nikki DeLoach's personal nod to her home state of Georgia hidden in the script• Hallmark and Chill picks: Murder She Wrote Season 10, Episode 5 for a vintage VR parallel, and Darrow and Darrow starring Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Wendie Malick, and Tom CavanaghCHAPTERS0:00 - Intro: Did You Watch True Justice 1 Before This?3:30 - What Worked: Pacing, Ensemble Cast, and the Crime Scene Camera Work8:00 - The Wig, the Earpiece, and a Winter Movie Airing in May13:00 - Mystery Minute: Fun Movie, 2-Star Mystery17:30 - Romance Roundup: Four Couples, One Joey Porter Name Drop20:30 - Character Corner: The Courtroom Walk, the Dog in the Van, and the Well22:30 - Trivia: Katherine McNamara's Arrow Past and True Justice 3 on IMDb24:15 - Hallmark and Chill: Murder She Wrote and Darrow and Darrow26:00 - Next Week: Haunted HarmonyThe actual mystery in True Justice Eye for an Eye: would you give it a 4 like the overall movie, or is Eric right that it's really closer to a 2 on its own? ABOUT TRUE JUSTICE 2: EYE FOR AN EYE Amateur sleuths tackle a fresh challenge at a local school, diving into the fierce world of parent politics. Their investigation uncovers hidden agendas and unexpected alliances as they navigate the complex web within the community. AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR TRUE JUSTICE 2: EYE FOR AN EYE May 23, 2026 | Hallmark Channel CAST & CREW OF TRUE JUSTICE 2: EYE FOR AN EYE Katherine McNamara as Casey Barlowe Markian Tarasiuk as Eli Flint Marisa McIntyre as Sarah Sharpe Alexander Nunez as Liam Anderson Benjamin Ayres as D.A. Quinn Nikki DeLoach as Professor Ambrose Director: Lisa Soper Writers: Nikki DeLoach, Megan McNulty BRAN'S TRUE JUSTICE 2: EYE FOR AN EYE SYNOPSIS We see a woman out in the woods and then discover there's a dead body frozen in the snow. Cut to our favorite amateur sleuths, who are discussing the case. Liam tells them what he knows so far: a dog found the frozen body while out in the woods with its owners. The victim's name was Katherine, and she was very well known in her community and part of an influential school board. A woman named Sharon was arrested for the murder, but her husband believes she was wrongfully convicted. Meanwhile, in class, they're learning about the law of retaliation. I'm sure that won't become relevant at all. The team starts reviewing police interviews with other school board members and quickly realizes basically everyone hated Sharon. So they go talk to her, and she explains that the board members were nothing more than high school bullies — especially the board president, Katherine. Sharon had even threatened to sue Katherine for emotional distress shortly before Katherine was found dead. Naturally, the gang decides to take the case. They eventually uncover enough evidence to convince a judge to reopen the investigation. From there, the crew keeps digging — tracking down DNA evidence, getting jumped from behind, climbing into wells…you know, all the stuff the police probably should've already done. Eventually, they piece it all together: the head of the school board had sent her husband to confront Sharon and tell her to stop accusing their child of bullying Sharon's kid. One thing led to another, and he ended up killing Katherine. Then the board president arrived and helped cover it all up. Honestly, she confesses pretty quickly once they corner her. At the inevitable “we caught a murderer” celebration party, Casey and Eli have a moment and almost kissssss! But of course, Benjamin Ayres interrupts the vibe with a toast to the justice warriors. We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions. ThiHannah Swensen's 14th mystery delivers fun characters and some courtroom drama, but Eric and Andrea agree the mystery itself is weaker than fans deserve. The killer is obvious from the moment they appear on screen, there are no real suspects, and Hannah's character feels like she's lost some of that strong, independent edge from earlier movies. What You'll Hear:• Eric gives this one a 2.5 out of 5 — slightly better than the last Hannah movie but still missing what made the early ones work• Why Hannah's personality shift with Vic feels inconsistent compared to her dynamic with Mike in earlier films• The one thing that worked: Chad finally gets some backstory and actual courtroom scenes instead of just busting down doors• Andrea's favorite character was the killer — and why that's actually a problem for the movie• Their Murder She Wrote and True Justice recommendations if you're craving a better mystery• A preview of next week's True Justice: Eye for an Eye review (and why you should rewatch the first one before the new episode drops)Chapters:0:00 – Cold Open: Chocolate Cheesecake Opinions1:15 – Overall Ratings: 2.5 Out of 53:42 – What Happened to Lake Eden's Small Town Charm?7:28 – Mystery Minute: No Suspects, No Red Herrings11:05 – Romance Roundup: Married-for-10-Years Chemistry14:20 – Character Corner: The Killer Was the Best Part16:45 – Hallmark Trivia: Top-Rated Hannah Movies18:30 – Hallmark and Chill Recommendations21:10 – Next Week: True Justice Eye for an EyeDid you notice Hannah's personality shift with Vic compared to Mike? What Is Justice? Aristotle on the Just Person, Corporation, and State (Nicomachean Ethics, Book V)In this episode of Resiliency Rounds, Aneesh and Jeremy continue Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics (Book V) on justice, using a question-driven format to ask what it means to be a just person, corporation, and state. They distinguish constitutional justice—how a state distributes basic goods like health, education, and security—from justice in voluntary exchanges between individuals, and discuss the difficulty of justice in criminal contexts where loss can't be fully restored. They argue that following the law is a low bar and explore Aristotle's view that being just is a matter of character: choosing the right acts voluntarily, knowingly, and not for gain, developed through a repeated thought–action–reflection cycle. They apply this to corporate power (e.g., opioids, social media harms, product negligence) and turn inward to “self-justice,” drawing on Plato's inner republic—reason governing honor and appetites—and end by asking who runs one's inner republic.Let us know how we are doing.

We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions. Eric and Andrea review A Royal Setting starring Jen Lilley and Dan Jeannotte, and this one didn't land. Despite two charming leads and an entertaining supporting cast, A Royal Setting checks every single royal movie box without bringing anything new to the table. Fake country, questionable accent, overbearing royal assistant, commoner gets sent away, commoner comes back. You've seen it before. You'll see it again. The highlight? The royal guard (Fred/George, as Andrea dubbed him), who stole every scene he was in. Jen Lilley brings her usual energy and charm, and the Xander/Jory friendship was a pleasant surprise, but the script never gives any of them enough to work with. Andrea gave it two stars, and Eric wasn't far behind. If you love royal Hallmark movies, this might still work for you. For everyone else, it's a tough sit.Plus: all the May 2026 Hallmark movie announcements, Mystery 101 April Fools chaos, Hannah Swensen and True Justice updates, and the Murdoch Mysteries streaming controversy.Follow us on social media: Instagram and TikTok: @hallmarkmysteriesandmoreYoutubeOr visit our website. Send us a textWhen Fairfax criminal defense / DUI lawyer Jonathan Katz joined with Ramsey Clark in defending the Plowshares activists for their 2000 criminal jury trial for their depleted uranium action, one of the group's supporters suggested getting ideas from lawyer David Walsh-Little , who served as standby trial counsel to the Gods of Metal Plowshares Five in 1998. In the interim, Jon instead consulted with another lawyer who had defended a slew of political activists. Now, twenty-five years later, Jon Katz for the first time talks with David Walsh-Little, about winning with a devotion to true justice. David and his wife met in college and organized against Gulf War I when Jon was visiting peace protestors during lunchtime across from the White House, three blocks from the corporate law firm where Jon then worked, several months before Jon transitioned to his true love of criminal defense, with a nearby public defender's office. David became a public defender lawyer, and then transitioned to running a legal office from the Viva Catholic Worker House in Baltimore, followed by returning to public defender work at the state and then federal levels, and now in his solo law practice. In law school, David worked for William Kunstler and Ron Kuby. David does not see a secret to beating the prosecution beyond full devotion to our clients and strong experience. He makes a good point about the times that prosecutors ensnare themselves in weakness. David is a progressive lawyer and a true believer in the work he does. Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs are pushing back against serious allegations of sexual assault made by a woman who claims the two attacked her when she was 13 at an after-party for the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The woman, whose identity has not been revealed, admitted to inconsistencies in her story, though she stands by her allegations. The woman alleged she was driven from Rochester, New York, to New York City for the VMAs and later attended an after-party. According to her, she was offered a ride by Combs' limousine driver and arrived at the party, where she spoke with musicians Benji Madden and his brother. She claimed she was drugged at the party and later sexually assaulted by Jay-Z, Combs, and an unnamed celebrity. The story has drawn skepticism after representatives for the Madden brothers confirmed they were on tour in the Midwest during the VMAs. Additionally, the woman's father said he doesn't recall the more than five-hour drive home from New York City, casting further doubt on her account. Jay-Z, whose legal name is Shawn Carter, responded firmly in a statement, criticizing Tony Buzbee, the woman's attorney. “This incident didn't happen and yet he filed it in court and doubled down in the press,” he said. “True Justice is coming. We fight FROM victory, not FOR victory. This was over before it began. This 1-800 lawyer doesn't realize it yet, but, soon.” Buzbee, a Houston-based personal injury lawyer representing 120 alleged victims of sexual misconduct against Combs, defended his actions, stating that it is his team's responsibility to investigate any new claims as they arise. He previously denied accusations of blackmail by Jay-Z, calling such claims “stupid and laughable.” Combs, currently awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges, also denied the allegations through his attorney, Teny R. Geragos. “Yesterday, a lawyer admitted that over 50 people falsely claimed to be victims. Today, for the second time this week, a Buzbee plaintiff has been exposed. This is the beginning of the end of this shameful money grab,” Geragos said. The woman's original lawsuit accused Combs of sexual assault, but she amended it last week to include Jay-Z. She admitted to making “some mistakes” in recalling events but insisted the core of her story remains true. According to her lawsuit, she was made to sign a nondisclosure agreement while in the limousine before being drugged at the party. She claims the assault occurred in a bedroom where she had gone to rest. Jay-Z's attorney, Alex Spiro, has filed a motion to dismiss the case, calling it “stunning” that such a serious complaint would be filed without proper vetting. “It is stunning that a lawyer would not only file such a serious complaint without proper vetting but would make things worse by further peddling this false story in the press,” Spiro said. Both Jay-Z and Combs are icons of the hip-hop world, credited with building vast empires that extend far beyond music. Jay-Z, with an estimated net worth of $2.5 billion, has been a major figure in the industry, collaborating with Combs on music and business ventures over the years. The legal challenges come as Combs faces mounting accusations, with Buzbee's firm filing numerous lawsuits and establishing a toll-free hotline for alleged victims. Combs, who has pleaded not guilty to federal charges, was denied bail for the third time and is set to face trial in May. As the legal battles unfold, the allegations raise questions about the legitimacy of the claims and the broader wave of lawsuits filed against high-profile figures in the entertainment industry. #JayZ #Diddy #SexualAssault #MTVVMAs #TonyBuzbee #HipHopNews #LegalBattles Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE?
