New PODCAST RELEASE - INTERVIEW with Australian Singer / Songwriter (and now resident of Nashville) IMOGEN CLARK! Rob and Matt had a great fun conversation with the greatly talented Imogen Clark. We had a ton of laughs (which is always a good thing). Besides bringing up Springsteen, Colin Hay, Sheena Easton and Sheryl Crow we talk about her big move to Nashville, the inspiration behind her newest video for THE NOISE, the time she played a mining town of only men, writing and recording with Colin Hay (Men at Work) and much much more! ******** JUST A LITTLE BIT ABOUT IMOGEN CLARK: From an early age, Imogen's life was steeped in music. From just eight years old, she was trained as an opera singer, the foundation for her roof-raising vocal power and range. By the age of twelve, she had transitioned to the guitar and piano and the start of her songwriting journey. Raised on a cocktail of Bruce Springsteen and Violent Femmes, her musical palette expanded with influences from contemporary artists like HAIM, Maggie Rogers, and the indomitable Taylor Swift. Her father, a former punk rocker and now retired high school teacher, also played a pivotal role in shaping her musical inclinations. His influence, combined with her own experiences, gave birth to a unique and timeless sound, blending pop-rock and indie-pop. Imogen's determination is evidenced by her achievements of the last three years, especially her two acclaimed EPs, 2020's "The Making of Me" and the AIR-nominated 2021's "Bastards". After recording “Bastards” over Zoom amidst the COVID lockdowns in Sydney, Imogen was determined to flip the script completely for her album. After writing over a hundred songs, she embarked on a musical pilgrimage, traveling to cities that have inspired her musically - London, Nashville, and Los Angeles. This journey took her to some of the world's most iconic recording spaces including Peter Frampton's Studio Phenix in Nashville, Abbey Road in London, and East West in Los Angeles, where the legendary "Pet Sounds" was recorded. The forthcoming album “The Art of Getting Through” is proudly genre-agnostic, encapsulating Imogen's range as a songwriter and recording artist. The lyrics are her most bracingly personal and vulnerable, the music more powerful and anthemic than ever. From navigating her identity to touching on the shadows of an eating disorder, each of Imogen's songs unfold like a chapter in a deeply personal diary, capturing moments, memories, and confessions from her journey. It's no wonder collaborators from Alex Lahey to Colin Hay to Steve Poltz to members of Gang of Youths, Tom Petty's Heartbreakers, Elvis Costello's Imposters, Dawes, My Morning Jacket and more have lined up to collaborate with an artist whose dynamism, relentless creativity and striving to be the most fully evolved version of herself, both in and out of the studio, shows her as a force to be reckoned with, and one who is just getting started. ************ You can find IMOGEN at imgogenclarkmusic.com.au , Facebook and Instagram (@imogenclarkmusic) Be sure to look for her upcoming 3rd studio album "The Art of Getting Through" on May 31st, 2024! ************ KNOW GOOD MUSIC can be found on Podbean (host site), Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Iheart Radio, Pandora and almost anywhere you listen to podcasts. “WOO! TURN UP THE MUSIC!”We all got lit as the music got louder and the party got crazier. I was dancing my butt off when suddenly a waiter tripped over and caviar covered me from head to toe. There was even some caviar in my nostrils!“UGH! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!”“I'm so sorry Sir!”Suddenly everyone started laughing and pointing at me. I was so embarrassed. I turned to my girlfriend, Siri, for help.“Babe! Please help me clean up.”“What, are you kidding? I'm not getting anywhere near you, you reek of fish eggs.”“But.. but..”Siri got up and walked away, leaving me all alone.Hey guys, what's up? My name's Marlo and I'm from Italy. My mother came from nothing, but she was a very smart woman and managed to become a billionaire by the time she was 30. When I graduated from high school my mom sat me down and asked me what I wanted my career to be. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Camo & Krooked on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 12/13/21 About Camo & Krooked - Austrian duo Reinhard Rietsch and Markus Wagner, otherwise known as Camo & Krooked have quickly become one of the hottest production outfits in Europe. Working together since 2007 and signing exclusively to Hospital Records in 2010, the Viennese pair have created a whirl of dancefloor anthems and a fearsome reputation for their untouchable production skills. Since signing to Hospital Records they have have brought us soulful, sultry tracks like massive hit single “Turn Up The Music” alongside raw power of smashers like “Climax”, proving that they are not only super talented, but they are also incredibly versatile. In autumn 2011 they released their first album on Hospital “Cross The Line”; a fourteen-track rollercoaster ride of emotions, veering between polished vocal-led beauties to filthy tear-out monsters, which delved into dubstep, drumstep, electro-house and everything in between. The album was a universal success and the duo won not one, not two, but three awards in the Drum & Bass Arena Awards 2011 for “Best Producer”, “Best Video” and “Best Album”. Another exciting development was the birth of Camo & Krooked live show; a multi-sensory show, featuring the pair perched inside an LED-lit cage using iPads and various MIDI-controllers to rearrange and modify their recent hits and trigger visuals, with album vocalists. The pair toured with the live show throughout the rest of 2011. 2012 saw the release of their remix album “Between The Lines” which featured remixes of key “Cross The Line” cuts by a range of producers including Metrik, Mefjus, Subwave, BCee and more. Since then, the boys have also had their music featured on some high profile computer games and have released LP ‘All Night' in anticipation to their new album ‘Zeitgeist', due out on 30th September 2013. With Eighteen months of hard graft under the belt, ‘All Night' foresees the new album in its influences from French house, disco and minimal techno that creates yet another angle to the Camo & Krooked signature sound, as does the recently released follow up ‘Move Around'. On the release of their latest album ‘Zeitgeist' Camo & Krooked toured extensively, playing to full capacity clubs across Europe, Australia and America. This included a sold out tour of Austria with their brand new Zeitgeist production show; an audio-visual spectacular, that is now set for a full tour of major festivals in summer 2014. Underground Music, Hip-Hop/Rap/MCing, Breakcore, EDM and Metal Disc Jockey with either a much greater emphasis on linguistic inventiveness than mainstream forms or a greater emphasis on the use of extreme profanity and disturbing criminal themes. Starring: Scorpion Frequency, Electric Breathing, Brom:35, NoizeFloor, Dead Beat Project, The Rappists, DJ 2def, Mr.Stabby, Mr. Morder, Jay Omerta, King Keemo, Mr.Siso, The Harmony Society, Kinky Bitch, Dynamic, Frankz Wit A Z, Mista Mead, H3vy Stu, Vicious 5150, RcThaHazard, J-ClaWsin, Lilo Frank, EffeSei, Christyle, DisaJohnny, Scar, Onnis, Marco Tosh, Labo & Yu-Sei. The difference between a pop/top-40/requests DJ and an underground DJ is not that one plays better music than the other or that one is a sellout, or that one is a “musical masturbator”. The difference is in the crowd that they are intended for: searchers vs. discoverers. The “underground” “club” DJ is the kind that wants to educate his crowd… yet another term I'll use with hesitation. He wants to find a correlation between what he likes and what his crowd responds to, by way of introducing them to music they may not have otherwise heard. He wants to teach and encourage them to find something they didn't know they needed. Whether it's the thrashing riffs or either the sampling or the EDM-esque chorus in motion, there is not a second that doesn't have a catchy sample and jingle part going on. The music is not without its flaws though, some songs are clearly better than others, Not that there is a bad song here. He puts absolutely everything new or remind the listener of past sounds but everything it does, it does well and even great at times. this might as well be the perfect soundtrack for all kind of music. If you're suspicious of this claim, then hijack the jukebox at your local bar or kindly offer to be the DJ at a Halloween party and getting rid of any stylistic barriers to integrated music. The outstanding drums, variety and overall harshness and brevity combining most of the harshest elements of metal with electronic genres, these record creates some outrageously chaotic freak outs from each of its eclectic formula.
