The midway point of the 2022 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour has been reached with the 12th running of the SKUSA SpringNationals presented by ASPEN Fuels USA, held at the Utah Motorsports Campus on June 9-12. The Erda, Utah facility welcomed the series for a fourth time, third to host the SpringNationals in the last four years. Nine categories contested Round Three and Four of the 2022 championship program with warmer temperatures making it for a challenge weekend both on and off the track. For Episode #73 of the Flatirons Syndicate Motorsports Podcast, Drew and Myles from Racecomp Engineering are back on the Podcast to talk all about the new 2022 BRZ and 2022 WRX. When Drew and Myles were first on the Podcast, they had just taken delivery of their 2022 BRZ and the initial impression was that the car was good, but they needed a little more time to see just how good the new BRZ was. Not only that, but they were also just about to get their hands on a 2022 WRX as well. Not only that, but Jon was just invited by Subaru to go out to the Utah Motorsports Campus to drive the new BRZ and WRX as part of their Ride and Drive launch of the new cars. So he had some firsthand experience with these new cars, and to say the least, there was much to discuss. Did the 2022 WRX and 2022 BRZ live up to the expectations? Did one of them stand out? We sat down with Ryan from DSX Motorsports, Tasso from OTC Racing, and Scotty from the shop to catch up on the events of the past few weeks. Tasso and Dussex both drove at Gridlife Alpine Horizon, Dussex in Time Attack, and Tasso in the Rally Sprints. The Rally Sprints were a new addition this year, and they were run by Rally Ready Driving School as a bracket elimination. This format created some great racing, and it is safe to say Tasso had a lot of fun running that weekend. Dussex was driving his Super Taikyu car in Time Trials, and even though he didn't get exactly the result he was looking for, he still had a solid weekend. Scotty took his 2011 STI race car out to run with NASA at the Utah Motorsports Park, and things did not entirely go to plan. Thanks for listening and Stay Tuned!

eKartingNews has launched a new program for social media and the EKN Radio Network - Face2Face. The show is broadcasted live over Facebook, with the audio version making its way to the only 24 hour / 7 days a week radio station. A new and unique event, with multiple organizations coming together, is set to take place in Utah this July. The United States Karting Grand Prix is scheduled for July 23-25 at the Utah Motorsports Campus. Among those organizations involved include the World Karting Association, TAG USA International and the Puget Sound Road Racing Association. WKA President Kevin Williams, TAG USA's Marty Casey and Aaron Stanford from PSRRA join Rob Howden for this episode of Face2Face to discuss the sprint and road racing event.

Brandon Paasch's first race in the MotoAmerica Series was in 2015, and he was an immediate podium finisher at Utah Motorsports Campus in the KTM RC Cup race. It became abundantly clear right away that the kid is not only fast but he has charisma. In 2015, Paasch came back and won the KTM RC Cup title before heading off to England to contest the Moto3 class in the British Superbike Championship. Well, now he's back for a full season of MotoAmerica Supersport racing on the Celtic HSBK Racing Yamaha YZF-R6. When you finally get to meet a member of a group that you have always dreamed about meeting finally happened!! I sat down with DJ after a few weeks of getting both of our schedules to finally cooperate. I first met DJ at the Utah Snowmobile Expo in October and heard about his awesome business guiding others in the back country on snowmobiles and dirt bikes. He has gained special permission from the Government and received more passes each operating year to guide many amazing adventures with people from all around the world. Way to go! DJ is more well known in his role with the Nitro Circus crew. He has been featured on a few episodes and in the movie. He is well known for his great video editing abilities which have landed him great opportunities and even the introduction to the Nitro crew. If you get a chance, you can watch some of his older content when he would stunt ride his motorcycle at the Larry H Miller Complex now known at Utah Motorsports Campus. Enjoy this episode!

Ben Gloddy turned 14 prior to our round at the Utah Motorsports Campus in 2019 and that's where he made his MotoAmerica debut in the Liqui Moly Junior Cup class. Gloddy got his feet wet and marched onward, ultimately landing on the podium in the final round of the season at Barber Motorsports Park. Carruthers and Bice had a chat this week with Gloddy and learned a few things about one of the youngsters who will enter the 2020 season as a series favorite. Cooper McDonald is an 18 year old professional motorcycle racer from Tulsa, Oklahoma. His grandfather, Norm McDonald, co-Founded K&N Air Filters back in 1956 and helped privateer riders all throughout the years. Cooper’s first motorcycle race was in February 2016. He quickly moved up to Expert in the CMRA series halfway through the 2016 season. In 2019, Cooper was offered the chance to race in the MotoAmerica Twins Cup Series with the AP Moto Arts team. After a few rounds of getting used to the bike, Cooper scored his first Twins Cup podium at Utah Motorsports Campus. Cooper’s next goal is to one day win a championship.  During this segment you will hear the show being dedicated to the life of Carlin Dunne who recently passed away.

The Superkarts! USA Pro Tour reached the halfway point of the 2019 season, hosting the 10th edition of the SpringNationals. On the May 3-5 weekend, competitors traveled to the Utah Motorsports Campus in Erda, Utah for Round Three and Four of the championship program. The weekend was full of exciting racing in the programs first visit since July 2012 to the 9/10-mile ‘Star Trek’ course. After a short summer break, Skyler and Derek are back tanned and refreshed to do a MotoAmerica deep dive after the Championship of Utah from the Utah Motorsports Campus. They review the event, the current state of motorcycle road racing in the US...

Derek DeBoer is a race car driver who currently drives for the Racers Group in a Porsche, Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR/Evo. He’s an Ashland, Oregon native who grew up in a family where racing and the love of cars was the center of everyday life. His grandfather raced on dirt car circuits and his father ran a Top Alcohol dragster. In college, Derek was a pro-level wakeboarder and is today part of a start-up company designing and manufacturing wakeskates. He started his racing career 18 years ago at Laguna Seca in a Formula Dodge. He’s raced in the Formula Renault Open Wheel Series and the ST class of Grand Am. Derek has won at Le Mans, had a top 10 finish at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, ran multiple times at the 25 hours at Thunderhill, and competed in many IMSA Continental Tire Series races. He found a home racing in Aston Martins and Lamborghinis for The Racer’s Group and competed in the Pirelli World Challenge racing in both the GTS and Sprint X categories. His 2016 season included two wins at Road America and Utah Motorsports Campus and seven podium finishes at Laguna Seca, Circuit of the Americas, and Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. Ashton Yates came in second in the MotoAmerica Liqui Moly Junior Cup race at Utah Motorsports Campus. He is currently running second overall in the series. He has two wins to his credit and five podiums. He is the son of former Superbike racer Aaron Yates.
