What's better than one Carry On Streaming a month? You guessed it – two! Velcome to our annual Halloween Carry On Streaming special for 2024. Dec is back to tell us what's best on the various streaming channels for this spooky channel. And being the second streaming of October it's only fitting we release this on the second night of our Halloween specials. This year Dec's selection is mainly scary movies (and who doesn't love them). Netflix comes out on top with a few original movies that are well worth watching – we rate Don't Move and Time Cut very highly indeed. Of course, it wouldn't be Dec if he didn't recommend at least one subtitled TV series to annoy Jeff, so this year he picks two. Of the two we think Don't Come Home is truly terrifying. But we don't stop at streaming – there are also a few radio recommendations for you. Danny Robins has a special Uncanny for the season and Jeff tells us a real-life ghost story connected to that show. You'll have your light on all night after listening to that tale. Even Graham gets into the spirit and watches a horror film which he actually enjoyed (at least that what he's telling us). We hope this helps in your Halloween planning. Come back tomorrow for another in our short Halloween season. Bye for now.

I bid you Velcome to the second of this year's At The Flicks Halloween specials. That rather odd introduction, with its mid European intonation, does contain a big clue as to the subject of this fearful show. Vampires. For this horrifying edition, Graham and Jeff are joined by radio presenter Jo Durrant. Normally you will find Jo, (and occasionally the other argumentative pair) on her own highly acclaimed science podcast called Jo Durrant's Beautiful Universe. If you haven't checked it out yet, we whole heartedly urge you to do so (and we have put a link to it at the bottom of these notes). Jo has many informative interviews on her shows and an abundance of all things factual. That being the case, it makes you wonder why is Jo on our podcast talking about mythical creatures of the night. As Jo reveals, she has had a fascination with these bloodsucking fiends for many years. Knowing Jo is such a big fan, we just had to invite her onto the show to tell us what her favourites are. Welcome to Jo's top five vampire films and TV shows. There are some classic choices, and maybe the odd one that might surprise you. We are not going to reveal the films in these notes, you will have to listen to the show to get the complete list. Of course, there are a couple of clues in the links below, we wouldn't lead you on without giving you a little “nip”. While Jo's selection makes for a very entertaining show, there is something more for you to get your teeth into. Jeff gives Jo a challenge. Would she watch three of Jeff's recommendations? Will Jo take the challenge and watch them? What may surprise you and which certainly surprised Jeff, is that Jo has actually seen some of them, and there is one where she would rather watch the remake of Jeff's selection! So, we have a full blooded show for you to check out. Have you seen Jo's top five or indeed Jeff's three recommendations? If you have, please let us know what you think of them. We know our Neil won't watch them, while listener Frank has already revealed to us that biting is one of his favourite hobbies. Ah well, to each his own – especially at this spooky time of year. Tomorrow we will be back with our final Halloween show of the year. Until then, boo for now!

Velcome to Octoberama 2023! No, that's not a typo, it's a bad Transylvanian accent because this… is Week of the Vampire! In today's Real World Horror story, we take a look at a women stuck in a well who may not actually exist. Is it a prank? Or something more supernatural? Oooh, spooky. In Horror Business, we examine a new slasher film from the makers of Turbo Kid, some horror icons coming to Call of Duty, and the possibility of Michael Myers coming to the small screen. We also discuss a new documentary based on a Conjuring case, and a stage play based on Paranormal Activity. We then gather our stakes and garlic for two undead films! First up is the Shudder exclusive Blood Relatives, written and directed by, and starring, Noah Segan as a 115 year old Yiddish bloodsucker who finds himself in a familiar situation when he finds out he has a long lost daughter. Speaking of ancient vampires with daddy issues, we also discuss the latest Subspecies film, Bloodrise, which serves as an origin story for Radu Vladislas. So blacken out your windows and sharpen those fangs because if you don't like this episode, we got two words for ya: SUCK IT!
Velcome back to Season 5 of Stoop Kidz! and Hey Arnold! Ze final season kicks off vith a vonderfully vacky tale of… mistaken identity. Is Stinky a creature of ze night just because he vears sunglasses, hates garlic, and looks forvard to ze blood drive? In “Sid the Vampire Slayer,” Sid certainly seems to think so! Can Arnold talk his beetle-booted buddy out of his delusion? The ever-charming Olga is back in “Big Sis,” only this time, she's taken Lila under her wing. Helga barely has time to revel in her newfound distance from her sister before she develops a jealousy for Little Miss Perfect, threatening the already tenuous bond Helga feels for her older sister. Velcome, velcome, velcome to part one of Dracula. Possibly the most famous Gothic horror novel of all time, Bram Stoker's masterpiece is, for the uninitiated at least, a surprisingly complex read full of uncomfortable yet strangely compelling eroticism! We cover chapters 1-9 and tell our weekly stories. Theo has no idea how he's supposed to edit this. Jackie meets a new friend and promptly throws her under the bus. Rachel doesn't think people really need to know about the Germans. Topics include: birthday butt-grabs, Codies, friendless chickens, Amanda Bynes, a knock-down drag-out fight about sons of dragons/devils, dying like a man, Pusha T, paprika troubles, Gettin' Jiggy Wit It, a long-suffering karaoke bar employee, Drac ‘n John, Vlad the Impaler, opening a can of wamp-ass, Kim K, Kanye, and North West, cowboy puns, and important gay stuff.Content warnings: sexual assault, violence, death, baseless accusations of skeeziness leveled against many different nationalities ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
