SpaceTime Series 28 Episode 33The Astronomy, Space and Science News PodcastWorld's Oldest Meteor Impact Crater, Water Ice on the Moon, and the Secretive X37B Shuttle ReturnsIn this episode of SpaceTime, we unveil the discovery of the world's oldest known meteor impact crater located in Western Australia. This ancient structure, dating back 3.5 billion years, was identified in the Pilbara region and challenges previous notions about Earth's geological history and the origins of life. We discuss the implications of this significant find, including its potential to reshape our understanding of crust formation and the environments conducive to early microbial life.Water Ice on the MoonWe also delve into exciting new research suggesting that water ice may be found just centimeters below the lunar surface across a much larger area of the Moon's polar regions than previously believed. Based on observations from India's Chandrayaan 3 mission, these findings could greatly influence future lunar exploration and habitation efforts, highlighting the potential for accessible sources of water ice.The X37B Space Shuttle's Secret MissionAdditionally, we cover the return of the United States Space Force's X37B space shuttle after a classified 434-day mission. The shuttle's successful landing at Vandenberg Space Force Base marks another milestone in its ongoing operations, which include specialized testing and reconnaissance in orbit. Will Porras, who is the Executive Chef at Vault Brewing Company in Yardley, PA learned and honed his knowledge as a chef while working inside various kitchens while growing up, and further refined his craft under some very esteemed chefs. I spoke with Will, learning about his history within the culinary industry and what led him to become Vault Brewing Company's Executive Chef. Taking on the role of an Executive Chef is not for the faint of heart-something that Will has excelled at. Speaking of excelling at things, Vault Brewing Company has created a delicious combination of beers and elevated dining menus that they're now looking to expand (spoil alert--and you heard it first on Food Farms and Chefs Radio Show!). So be sure to keep an eye out for their official announcement by following them on their social media pages, as well as when you visit them in person!https://vaultbrewing.comMy next guest, Joseph Staffieri, is the owner behind Fusco's Water ice with two locations in Delaware. Joseph is a chip off the ol' block--quite literally, in fact. His family has owned and operated the water ice business for years, turning peoples muggy and frustratingly-hot summer days into joyful ones with their scratch-made water ice and soft-serve ice creams. However much his father had stuck to their traditional flavor, Joe has been thinking outside of the box and coming up with creative new flavors for the communities and visitors to enjoy. But with all good things, comes the tireless efforts to create it: So every day Joe and his team squeeze out every last flavorful drop of ingredients to create the best tasting water ice around!https://www.fuscoswaterice.comSolidified in the Hudson Valley as part of everyone's family, third-generation owner Peter Deising found even more attention for his family's business, Deisings Bakery & Restaurant, after the HBO-based Host of Last Week Tonight's John Oliver purchased equipment that Deising wanted for his bakery & restaurant. Peter had left an inquiry note on the door of the recently-closed chain restaurant, Red Lobster. What happened next was even more note-worthy: John Oliver noticed and issued a challenge to Demising, and in exchange for meeting the challenge the Deising Bakery and Restaurant would receive the equipment he inquired about. I'm a HUGE John Oliver fan, so this is how the Hudson Valley-based business came to my attention, and I was BEARY enticed to have them join me on my show to talk about the JO moment, and moreover to shed more light on the history of Deising Bakery & Restaurant, and what keeps their community coming back after so many years in business.https://www.deisings.comWhen it comes down to it, the time, energy, and effort that goes into plating up that perfect dish is at the heart of every Chef--something that leaves a lasting impression on anyone who visits them. I am grateful every day for what the businesses I eat and drink at offers me. I'm also grateful to all of you who tune in to the show to listen every week, so if there is anything (or anywhere) that you would like to hear from--feel free to send a recommendation for the show by emailing me at foodfarmsandchefs@gmail.com.

In case you missed it, we're offering this episode about mural artist Chris B. Murray as an encore presentation. In under three weeks, mural artist Chris spray painted his colorful and whimsical design "A Better Bear" onto the west side of Boyertown, PA's Rita's Water Ice building. Chris never made a "Plan B," so making a living for himself and his family as an artist--his "Plan A"--is a most satisfying accomplishment. There was never a doubt in his own mind and those of his parents and teachers that his talents would bring him success--after some difficult, lean years.
Now you can watch NASA's first robotic Moon rover take shape.

Join Fazale “Fuz” Rana and Jeff Zweerink as they discuss new discoveries taking place at the frontiers of science that have theological and philosophical implications, including the reality of God's existence. Earliest Rope Making When did humans first begin deploying fiber technology? This question is important because fiber technology makes composite technology possible, such as textiles, ropes, baskets, nets, weapons, housing, and boats. It also reflects the capacity for advanced cognition. An international team from the Philippines, France, and Germany recently published evidence that humans in the Philippines possessed fiber technology around 40,000 years ago. In this episode, biochemist Fuz Rana discusses the scientific and theological implications of this discovery. What does this advance mean for RTB's creation model for human origins and the scientific case for the image of God? Rana will also discuss the ramifications of this discovery for recent claims that Neanderthals invented fiber technology. Gullies on Mars Observations of Mars reveal formations that strongly point to the presence of liquid water. While astronomers know that Mars had liquid water in the distant past, these features occasionally make the news cycle as indicating the presence of liquid water more recently. A new study of Martian gullies shows that the water needed for formation indicates a highly disruptive environment for life. These results further highlight Earth's remarkable ability to host life. Recently I've been seeking mentorship and guidance to help improve my climbing. This can be a tricky endeavor, finding someone you trust and respect can be challenging. With this in mind, I reached out to a local Ice climbing group in search of such a person. With some amazing luck, I connected with Callum Nelson. Through our conversation, I quickly realized that Callum was an accomplished climber and UK Certified Rock Guide who has climbed all over the world. Callum and I climbed a beautiful Water Ice 5 Called Shriek of the Sheep on the West Coast of BC this was a phenomenal experience that I'll remember for the rest of my life. What stood out most was how aligned Callum and I are as people something just clicked. I am honored that Callum is the first guest to record in my home and I consider myself lucky to call him a friend. Callum and his partner Anya currently live in a converted fire engine called big red. He embodies the spirit of climbing and shares how climbing is much more than an experience. it can be life-transforming as so many of us know and have discovered ourselvesPlease rate, review the show, and share this podcast with your friends.
