How did these early tracks have an impact on your career? A: Back in the days we were listening to these tracks over and over again. Tracks that really melted in your inner musical system. We think that this shaped also the way we started to produce music. You see the variety of taste in here and this is what we still stand for. We are not trademark DJs or producers, we deliver sophisticated electronic music of all genres in our sets and productions. Q: Do you still play them in your DJ-sets and if so, how´s the reaction of the crowd? A: Yes we do this more and more these days. It is nice to prepare your next sets not by buying more new stuff every week, but to dig in your crates and find these beloved tunes that we have played ages ago, when we were starting our career as DJs in Bars and on private housewarming parties. The interesting thing is, that most of the tunes are new for crowd again. This is what give us now the first time of our career and elderly advantage. Good DJs are like good red wine, the older the better. Q: Which future projects are on the way and where will you guys be touring next? A: The last year we took it easy and everyone was taking more care of their solo projects. Nayan with his live project Amount and Fritz as Windish. We will soon come up with new EPs and remixes. But as Fritz is running the Garbicz Festival studio time becomes sacred. We just came from some nice gigs in Beirut and Lima now we play some shows in Germany and in December we will be heading to New York.

┋ InfoBox Madmotormiquel (URSL/Berlin) ┋ booking contact | tanja@sunday-drivers.com https://www.facebook.com/madmotormiquel https://soundcloud.com/madmotormiquel Download for free on The Artist Union

tbs eFM Highlights Interview with Tom Windish tbs eFM This, That & Amy interviews the legend, Tom Windish 2016.10.06 About This, That & Amy: This, That & Amy is a late morning talk show that offers great music and exciting daily segments that cover all the latest trends and issues in culture, entertainment, travel, food, and more! About Tom Windish: Tom Windish is the founder and president of the Windish Agency, a progressive-thinking booking agency with an impressive client list that includes Diplo, Lorde, and Aphex Twin. The company, which he started in his Chicago apartment in 2004, now has multiple offices and Windish himself has made a name for himself as one of the most innovative and influential figures in the music industry.
Watch yourself! The opening to this episode is a little insistent. Ah, that's better. Welcome. Jodi Coyote gets us started this time with a tale of buyer's remorse. Mehran Khaghani is back next with a prescription for awful people. Kyle Supley's here too, with a reminiscence of his time taking piano lessons from Mrs. Windish. OH! And they changed church, but don't worry about it. (You should worry about it.)
For the 63rd Avenue Red Podcast we welcome DJ/Producer Mike Starr, an English expat in Berlin who has delivered a silky smooth mix of deep, vibrant, sensual House and Techno sounds. Mike has a great flow on the decks and his music choices are pretty broad - most importantly, the man has a good filter for quality and only the most tasteful materials make it through. Big-ups! "So about me: Berlin-based since 2009 and DJ'ing since the last 15 years. Got my early break as a resident in one of the best clubs that London ever produced - The End/AKA Bar, which like many others sadly no longer exists. I play House, Disco, Techno and many other sub-genres that exist out there. For the past several years I have been producing & releasing music on Berlin-based label Casual Lab. About this mix: It's an honour to feature a mix for Avenue Red. I have been listening for some time to the many, many talented DJ's that have had an opportunity to tell their individual story through their mixes. For me, I wanted to create an easy listening, non-intrusive mix that typifies how I approach a set; what influences me; what moves me; and how I want to create a journey - not to educate, but unique in a way to share with other like-minded listeners. It has a touch of dub here, a healthy dose of afro-centric beats there - all steeped in the heat of the sun that was beaming at the time I recorded the mix here in Berlin. I usually like to incorporate timeless tracks from the past and blend them with more recent offerings in my sets. This selection presented here is primarily a reflection of my time living in London in the 2000's through to the present day here in Berlin. Last year was a great year for me: from playing a variety of gigs here in Berlin; an international showcase on Oahu in Hawaii alongside Rampue, Monolink, Soukie & Windish and many others, to having a remix released on Ellen Allien's BPitch Control for Argy & Mama alongside Alan Fitzpatrick and Rampa. Currently I am heavily engrossed in the studio honing my craft but already I am talking with some great labels about future EP's and remixes. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for some surprises to come!" Mike*, April 2016 https://soundcloud.com/mikestarr
