Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about how Jaxson Dart got rated as a Top 5 QB Nationally by PFF and reviewed some important transfer pieces that Ole Miss Rebels have already gotten. We look at who is due on campus this weekend for Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin and Pete Golding. We start with the swiss army knife tackle in Gerald Mincey from Tennessee Voluteers and Kendrick Blackshire from the Alabama Crimson Tide and the thought process around both of them for Ole Miss. In the second segment of the show we talk about Daequan Wright from the Virginia Tech Hokies, Brandon Turnage from the Tennessee Volunteers and Yam Banks from the South Alabama Jaguars. You can see the holes that Ole Miss is trying to fill and these are some players that will fill specific roles in the Ole Miss team in 2024. In our final segment of the day we talk about Ole Miss updated their roster and after the purge both #5 players were still there in Zakhari Franklin and John Saunders. Potentially both really important players when looking at the Ole Miss Rebels in 2024. WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT? Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the reasons the Ole Miss Rebels and Lane Kiffin will defeat the Auburn Tigers and Hugh Freeze. This game will be about playing well on the road and not let an Auburn Football team that is devoid of confidence get confidence. Will Payton Thorne or Robby Ashford get the call at Quarterback and will Quinshon Judkins and Ulysses Bentley IV show out. Jaxson Dart at Quarterback my be the difference for Charlie Weis Jr and the Ole Miss Football offense. In the second segment of the show we talk about how this game will require Ole Miss to play boring. The goal is for every series to end with a kick and avoid those major momentum swinging plays that can help Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers. Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about how Jaxson Dart and Lane Kiffin need a quick start vs the Auburn Tigers and what that will look like. Winning 1st and 2nd down will be important for Jaxson Dart and Charlie Weis Jr and will Jordan Watkins play and if not who will step up for the Ole Miss Rebels Offense. Will it be Tre Harris, Dayton Wade or will the emergence of Zakhari Franklin or Ayden Williams occur. In the second segment of the show we talk about how it will be important for Lane Kiffin to win every possesion…End every series with a kick should be the goal for Ole Miss Football vs Auburn Football. This is an Auburn offense that will likely play extremely slow and it will be important that Ole Miss does not help them by turning the football over or getting stopped on a 4th down. This Auburn offense will need you to help them on scoring drives…So don't In our final segment of the day we talk about how this game will be a physical war played by the Ole Miss front seven and it will be important that they come into to this game with that mindset. Play big on the front and bottle up their running game. Expect Robby Ashford to start but be prepared for Payton Thorne. And expect a change in tactic in their offense to protect their defense. Locked On Ole Miss - Daily podcast on Ole Miss Rebels Football, Basketball & Baseball
Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the reasons that Ole Miss Football and Lane Kiffin will defeat LSU Football and Brian Kelly. The game will come down to a matchup between the front seven of the LSU Tigers and the Running Game and Offensive Line of the Ole Miss Rebels. Quinshon Judkins vs Harold Perkins will be the headline of the game as Jaxson Dart and the Ole Miss offense tries to earn the right to throw against this secondary. In the second segment of the show we talk about how Lane Kiffin is an extremely competitive coach and usually is quick to make necessary changes and I believe that this game will be a combination of Lane doing things schematically that helps his young team and getting all of your weapons back and healthy. Tre Harris, Zakhari Franklin and Caden Prieskorn should be back and a lot better and we can see what this offense looks like. In our final segment of the day we talk score predictions and Las Vegas doing the weird thing that even though 77% of the public is betting on LSU the line has gone the other way. That usually means Vegas knows something. And I give my score prediction for Saturday's game. WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT? Locked On Ole Miss - Daily podcast on Ole Miss Rebels Football, Basketball & Baseball
Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the LSU Tigers with Caroline Fenton from Locked on LSU and we wonder what we can expect from Lane Kiffin and Brian Kelly in this game. Is this a game that Jaxson Dart becomes what we have seen flashes from the Quarterback from Utah or is Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabors simply too good for these teams. Will Pete Golding Rise Up or will Matt House wake up on the defensive side of the ball In the second segment of the show we talk about the need to get this game back to Halloween and if Alabama is not going to be a permanent opponent then it should start in 2024. This game belongs on Halloween and as the self professed keeper of the traditions…It should also be the traditional look for this ball game. Will Charlie Weis Jr, Tre Harris and Zakhari Franklin make the plays or will the LSU Defense finally rise up. In our final segment of the day we talk score predictions on where we sit on the game. How the game potentially will look and where you can exploit these teams. How will it look when Ole Miss Football and LSU Football compete in the Magnolia Bowl on Saturday. How does Pete Golding schematically slow down LSU and how does it look for the Rebels. Is Suntarine Perkins slated to be the spy after a huge game vs the Alabama Crimson Tide. One the backend of the defense how do they deal with Malik Nabors who has nearly half of Jayden Daniels passing yards. In the second segment of the show we talk about the weird state of the Ole Miss offense and searching for the Alpha players almost 1/3 through the season. Jaxson Dart has played well in the early part of the season but is he the Alpha on this team…Is it Tre Harris, Quinshon Judkins, Zakhari Franklin or is it Caden Prieskorn. This game feels taylor made for Prieskorn IMO. In our final segment of the day we talk about how this is a swing game for the Ole Miss Football team that could mean the difference between the New Years Six and the Music City bowl. We live in a microwave society and we are extremely results driven and this game is at best a pickem and one would hope with Nick Saban not in the picture hopefully the team will perform Saturday. Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the reasons the Ole Miss Football team and Lane Kiffin will defeat the Alabama Crimson Tide and Nick Saban. This game will come down to Quarterback play and in this series when Ole Miss has clearly the better quarterback they win more than they lose. Jaxson Dart has to really show up for the Rebs and Ole Miss has to find complimentary weapons to Quinshon Judkins but it looks like Zakhari Franklin and Caden Prieskorn will play. In the second segment of the show we talk about the way that Lane Kiffin has been behaving this week and what that means against Nick Saban. His twitter antics and the way he is acting publicly tells me he thinks he is winning the game. It will be interesting to see. In our final segment of the day we talk about this being a "Program Game" or "Corner Game" for Ole Miss it will be up to Ole Miss to win this game. If you want to be taken seriously you win this game. We give our prediction for the game and talk about where the betting line is and what it is doing. WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT? Locked On Ole Miss - Daily podcast on Ole Miss Rebels Football, Basketball & Baseball
Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the game Saturday between Ole Miss Football and the Alabama Crimson Tide in a game that Ole Miss goes in feeling better. We talk about Jalen Milroe and the need for players to step forward and become Alphas on the Football Field. We also talk about Jaxson Dart and Quinshon Judkins and the run that Ole Miss Football has been on even without Tre Harris, Caden Prieskorn and Zakhari Franklin. In the second segment of the show we talk about the way that Lane Kiffin has been behaving this week and what that means against Nick Saban. Luke Robinson from Locked on Bama thinks that this is Lane Kiffin trying to agitate Nick Saban straight out of the "Art of War." Either way Lane Kiffin is behaving like a coach that feels like he is going to win on Saturday. In our final segment of the day we talk about what we expect from the games and give our predictions between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Ole Miss Rebels. WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT? Locked On Ole Miss - Daily podcast on Ole Miss Rebels Football, Basketball & Baseball
Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the news that Ole Miss fans have been hoping for surrounding the return of three of their key weapons for Jaxson Dart and Lane Kiffin. To my knowledge Tre Harris and Caden Prieskorn were dressed out per practice reports in a black jersey and Zakhari Franklin was full go in a normal practice jersey. With the Ole Miss Football team currently sitting as a Top 10 offense minus three of their projected weapons is something. In the second segment of the show we talk about what the defense has done well for the Ole Miss Rebels including Red Zone and Fourth Down defense currently and what they need to do for Pete Golding to improve. Ole Miss Football must give up fewer explosive plays with Jalen Milroe as the Quarterback for Alabama Football and force the Bama signal caller to drive the field to win. In our final segment of the day we talk about Ole Miss having the advantage in almost every intangible you want…Including last year's game where Jaxson Dart was roughed up a little bit in a…Let's Say….Interestingly officiated game. Then we talk about what this game would mean to Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin and Jaxson Dart. This game is what I call a corner game. When people say that they are close to turning the corner they are talking about winning games like these. WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT? Locked On Canes - Daily Podcast On Miami Hurricanes Football & Basketball
After adding Oklahoma transfer cornerback Jaden Davis in the portal, the Miami Hurricanes are not finished recruiting transfers. Miami will host Louisiana Tech transfer defensive tackle Keivie Rose for a visit this weekend. Rose stands 6-3 and 305 lbs and was a First Team All-Conference USA selection in 2022. He recorded 24 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss and two sacks from the interior. Miami also might get a visit from Ole Miss transfer DT Tywone Malone, although nothing is set there yet. “The Truth Teller” Bruce Warner joins host Alex Donno to discuss which needs Miami still needs to fill in the portal. After defensive tackle, there is a need at wide receiver. Donno heard that Cincinnati might now be favored over Miami to land Florida transfer WR Xzavier Henderson. The Hurricanes are still in play for UTSA transfer Zakhari Franklin, though, and possibly Michigan State's Keon Coleman. Donno points out that Miami coaches took a trip to Chicago this week to visit the high school of 5-star defensive tackle Justin Scott. Scott has been trending to The U in recent weeks. Locked On Canes - Daily Podcast On Miami Hurricanes Football & Basketball
The Miami Hurricanes should take a long, hard look at Michigan State wide receiver Keon Coleman, who entered the transfer portal just before the deadline on April 30th. Coleman, a starter for the Spartans in 2022, led the nation with 11 catches on throws of 20 or more yards. He recorded 798 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns last season. He also has pro-level size at 6'4, 215 lbs. Host Alex Donno explains why Miami should make Coleman a priority but notes that the competition around the country could be fierce. Donno also really likes UTSA receiver Zakhari Franklin and still likes Florida WR Xzavier Henderson. Henderson visited Miami last week but left without committing. Things have been quiet with him ever since. Donno answers questions from listeners on our Subtext chat and on twitter. Alex is asked who will be sleeper players who will make the most of their snaps this season? Watch out for Ray Ray Joseph, Malik Bryant and Chris Johnson. Donno explains which position groups he feels will be the most improved this season. You can chat with Donno any time on our new Subtext SMS texting service.
