Welcome to another author panel for my rebranded podcast, the Biz Book Publishing Hub! These authors participated in one of my Kindle Cross-Promotion campaigns, in which business authors lowered their Kindle book prices to 99 cents or $1.99. I organize these twice a year around Amazon Prime Days and Black Friday. 100+ authors work collaboratively to spread the word and boost book sales. Each time, dozens of books reach #1 Best Seller in at least one category, and 7 out of 10 books reach the Top 10 for at least one category.  It's been a great way to generate interest in evergreen books published many years earlier and celebrate recent publications. The best part is that our collaboration doesn't end when the campaign is over. Nearly every author opted to sign up for an author panel after the event. These panel discussions focus on the ROI of publishing a business book. With me today are three authors: Jan Raeder authored “Strive for M.O.R.E.: What Wellbeing Really Means & How You Can Achieve It.” John Saunders wrote “The Optimizer: Building and Leading a Team of Serial Innovators.”  Marva Bailer is the author of “Be Unexpected: Resetting Routines to Revolutionize the Future of Work.” Please join me in welcoming Jan, John, and Marva. Mike Doniger is clear: As a leader, you should always live your company values. As co-founder and Chief Operating Officer for Chaberton Energy, Mike leads the company's development, engineering and business operations teams. Headquartered in Maryland, Chaberton Energy is a public benefit corporation focused on developing sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy projects. Committed to Lean/Operations Excellence principles, Mike began his career in the U.S. Navy, culminating in service as Chief Engineer of a nuclear-powered submarine. In 2008, realizing the growing need for leadership in the clean energy industry, Mike joined a young biomass-to-energy start-up that became the world's leading supplier of utility-grade wood pellets. Mike held several senior engineering, operations and development positions as the company grew to a $1B market capitalization, deploying over $500M in growth capital and implementing the processes necessary to operate seven manufacturing facilities, four ports, and nearly 600 people. Subsequently, Mike led a 1,200+ person Amazon distribution center outside Richmond, Virginia, implementing same-day delivery service in 2019. Mike holds a B.S. in Systems Engineering with merit from the U.S. Naval Academy, a Master's in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University and a Master's in Business Administration from Georgetown University. He lives outside Richmond, Virginia, with his wife, Luan, and two sons, Benjamin and Aden. Episode Insight: Our mission is firmly rooted in creating a better world for us and future generations, and we embody the mindset of finding win-win-win outcomes whenever possible. Background: Mike Doniger and I share this thought: Leaders must live up to their company values. I met Mike through my new friend, John Saunders, who thought Mike would be a great Reflect Forward guest, and I couldn't agree more. During this week's episode, Mike tells us about his community solar company, Chaberton, which he and his co-founder started in 2020. Mike's approach focuses on achieving win-win-win outcomes in every aspect of his work. He is committed to benefiting the communities where his projects are located, from the thoughtful siting and design of each project to the Chaberton Cares giving program. His efforts also support those in greatest need, such as lower-income families and small, local businesses, while fostering a positive environment for his employees, given that his business is employee-owned. Additionally, Mike ensures that his customers and other stakeholders consistently receive value and consideration in all business dealings. Mike tells us how Chaberton's employees are part of "One Chaberton," which adheres to a structured, stage-gated approach to development. At the outset of a project, the risk of failure is notably high. Therefore, Mike implements guardrails, allowing incremental spending approvals as each project milestone is met, thereby reducing the overall project risk. This strategic approach ensures that creativity and excellence are maintained throughout development. Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the some surprises that the Ole Miss Rebels and Lane Kiffin might recruit out of the Transfer Portal and specifically at the Wide Receiver position…Yes you heard that correctly so I put on my Sherlock Holmes hat and grabbed a pipe and started looking for clues for directions that Ole Miss and George McDonald and yes Jaxson Dart's instagram played a major role.  This team already has Tre Harris, Jordan Watkins, Juice Wells, Deion Smith and Cayden Lee but they may be looking to grow that room. In the second segment of the show we talk about Isaiah Hamilton from the Houston Cougars and what type of role a Cornerback of this magnitude would have in this lineup that features Trey Amos, Brandon Turnage, Chris Graves and Cedrick Beavers already.  And why this would allow John Saunders, Jaden Canady and Yam Banks to stay in the middle of the field for Pete Golding. In our final segment of the day we talk about the Running Back room post spring after the Kedrick Reescano defection.  What does Ole Miss have currently with Ulysses Bentley IV, Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Henry Parrish Jr right now and how Ole Miss can fill the role of a thumper with personnel and two Tight End formations.  WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT?   Follow and Subscribe to the Podcast on these platforms:

Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the Ole Miss Rebels Defensive Backs going into the 2024 football season and how Pete Golding is trying to fix the deficiencies the 2023 Ole Miss Defense had. Trey Washington and John Saunders are returning after being a part of the defense at Ole Miss that was the best in a decade potentially. Golding and Lane Kiffin have decided to Improve the defense with Starters from Power programs such as Trey Amos, Amorion Walker, Louis Moore and Key Lawrence in the Transfer Portal as well as a G5 star in Yam Banks. In the second segment of the show we talk about the Cornerback room specifically and look at what Zamari Walton and Deantre Prince were as players and why Chris Graves was a starter vs the Georgia Bulldogs. Ole Miss needed to get more athletic at Cornerback in 2024 and they did just that by bringing in Trey Amos from the Alabama Crimson Tide and Amorion Walker from the Michigan Wolverines. That with the return of Graves and the Signing of JUCO Cedrick Beavers puts Ole Miss and Pete Golding in an advantageous but dangerous position. In our final segment of the day we talk about the safety position with the addition of Moore, Lawrence and Banks but also look at a lottery ticket that Ole Miss has in Jadon Canady from the Tulane Green Wave. This is the position room that will determine Ole Miss' 2024 fate. WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT? Join our Subtext communityhttps://joinsubtext.com/lockedonolemiss  Follow and Subscribe to the Podcast on these platforms:

Tune in as Jessica and John discuss the power of storytelling and how stories build trust, develop buy-in, and accelerate organizational change. Capturing the hearts and minds of busy stakeholders is paramount during change and transformation. To cut through the noise, John explains that leaders need to follow a formula to create a cohesive story, but first they need to be clear on why they do what they do – their mission and vision. To help clients find clarity, John will often ask, “Who would win from participating in this story, or using your product or service?” Once you get clarity on those things, says John, leaders can start to identify the stories that help people buy-in. Highlights from the conversation include: The importance of getting out of your comfort zone and learning new skills; How storytelling can help impacted stakeholders overcome fear, loss, shame, and uncertainty that is common during organizational change; and, The value of following a formula to create a structured story that resonates. Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about how Jaxson Dart got rated as a Top 5 QB Nationally by PFF and reviewed some important transfer pieces that Ole Miss Rebels have already gotten. We look at who is due on campus this weekend for Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin and Pete Golding. We start with the swiss army knife tackle in Gerald Mincey from Tennessee Voluteers and Kendrick Blackshire from the Alabama Crimson Tide and the thought process around both of them for Ole Miss.   In the second segment of the show we talk about Daequan Wright from the Virginia Tech Hokies, Brandon Turnage from the Tennessee Volunteers and Yam Banks from the South Alabama Jaguars. You can see the holes that Ole Miss is trying to fill and these are some players that will fill specific roles in the Ole Miss team in 2024.   In our final segment of the day we talk about Ole Miss updated their roster and after the purge both #5 players were still there in Zakhari Franklin and John Saunders. Potentially both really important players when looking at the Ole Miss Rebels in 2024.   WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT?   Join our Subtext community https://joinsubtext.com/lockedonolemiss     Follow and Subscribe to the Podcast on these platforms:

Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the growth of Jaxson Dart as Lane Kiffin's signal caller and his performance through seven games this year. We look at how he has performed more often than not when he gets called upon and Lane Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr can now just focus on getting his surrounding weapons on the football field and in a position for Tre Harris, Caden Prieskorn and Quinshon Judkins to make plays. We wonder where Jaxson Dart fits on the pantheon of Ole Miss Quarterbacks and where he stacks up against recent greats. In the second segment of the show we talk about Pete Golding's explosive defense that he is building and how refreshing it is the growth that we have seen from that unit. It was a unit built on explosive plays by that front seven including Jared Ivey, Cedric Johnson, Isaac Ukwu and Suntarine Perkins that has started to create turnovers through John Saunders, Zamari Walton and Daijahn Anthony. In our final segment of the day we talk about the SEC Week 9 lines and who will be favored going into week 9. WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT? Join our Subtext communityhttps://joinsubtext.com/lockedonolemiss  Follow and Subscribe to the Podcast on these platforms:

Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the middle of the field problem that Ole Miss had in 2022 and look at why it likely was not all Jaxson Dart's fault. We talk about how Malik Heath actually performed well in the middle of the field in 2022 for Lane Kiffin, but that is where it stops and no other Ole Miss player was good In that part of the field. The solution was Middle of the field monsters that transferred in like Caden Prieskorn and Tre Harris that will try to replicate what Heath did for Ole Miss Football. In the second segment of the show we talk about the need for the Ole Miss Rebels front seven to be really good for Pete Golding vs the run game of the Mercer Bears and give up an average of less than four yards per carry.  This is a completely new defense that honestly most people have not seen so personnel will become known and people we assume will be playmakers like Monty Montgomery, Cedric Johnson and Jared Ivey have a chance to step forward. In our final segment of the day we talk about all of the newcomers that will be need to integrate quickly on both sides of the ball. Ole Miss fans will be searching players like Ayden Williams and Suntarine Perkins as true freshmen but with so many transfers like John Saunders, Zamari Walton and Monty Montgomery it will be important that they at least flash Saturday vs the Mercer Bears. WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT? Join our Subtext communityhttps://joinsubtext.com/lockedonolemiss  Follow and Subscribe to the Podcast on these platforms:

Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about how the position that I am most worried about going into the 2023 Football Season is safety. Ole Miss has completely retooled their secondary going from a primarily zone based defensive system to a team that will rely on man coverage. This transition saw the influx of Zamari Walton from Georgia Tech, Deshaun Gaddie from North Texas, John Saunders from Miami (OH), Daijahn Anthony from Liberty. The list goes on but you get the idea. The turnover even from Spring to Fall has been extensive. The ability of the safety room to gel will go a long way for this Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss Football Team. In the second segment of the show we talk about the other position rooms on the defensive side of the ball for Pete Golding. We start with the Defensive Line a unit led by JJ Pegues, Cedric Johnson and Jared Ivey that should be the leaders of this defense. We talk about Linebackers and the free for all that is developing beside Monty Montgomery between Ladarius Tennison, Khari Coleman, Suntarine Perkins and Ashanti Cistrunk. We close with cornerbacks as a look at this defense. In our final segment of the day we talk about NCAA Football 2024 from EA Sports and the Players that are looking to hijack this game for their own use.  Then we take a question from viewer mail about going for it on 4th down in 2023. WANT MORE OLE MISS SPORTS CONTENT? Join our Subtext communityhttps://joinsubtext.com/lockedonolemiss  Follow and Subscribe to the Podcast on these platforms:

“What do we want for our customers, our best clients? Strong, long term relationship that has mutually beneficial results, right? So why do we not think about our employees the same way?”, asks John Saunders, founder of Forward Advisory Solutions and author of The Optimizer: Building and Leading a Team of Serial Innovators. Today, John talks about how to optimize your team and be a leader for innovation. People often think about innovation as needing to be something really big, but ultimately change in itself is innovation. By stepping back and celebrating every incremental step as its own source of innovation, employees feel safer about taking risks. Leaders can encourage innovation by having their teams work incrementally on something they are passionate about. This incremental mindset helps lower the emotional charge of change and makes it easier to celebrate both the wins and the mistakes made along the way. Many people shy away from change, but ultimately change is innovation. By building trusting relationships with employees, encouraging them to try new things, and showing them that they will not be penalized for making mistakes, leaders can drive innovation to new heights.  Quotes: “As leaders, no matter what business you're in, you are tasked with leading change.” (5:18-5:22 | John) “Ultimately, change oftentimes is innovation in some way, shape, or form.” (5:30-5:33 | John) “If you get your whole team working on these things that they're passionate about, building incremental change, and sharing with each other, it can really drive results over time.” (8:21-8:28 | John)  “The more we can think about solving that true problem, rather than bringing the solution to the world, the more we can drive results.” (13:47-13:54 | John) “What do we want for our customers, our best clients? Strong, long term relationship that has mutually beneficial results, right? Why do we not think about our employees the same way?” (16:07-16:18 | John) Links: Mentioned in this episode: Learn more about Mike Horne on Linkedin Email Mike at mike@mike-horne.com Find more about Leading People and Culture with Authenticity   Learn more about John Saunders: Website: johncsaunders.com LinkedIn: jcs-optimizer Twitter: @jcs_optimizer Instagram: @jcs_optimizer   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
