Three active cases. Three different kinds of evidence failures. And the same underlying question: when investigators lose evidence, fail to collect it, or mishandle it, what are the real consequences — for the cases and for the system? In the Aaron Spencer case, a dashcam SD card was handled inconsistently with every other piece of evidence at the scene, in violation of department policy, and lost. A judge found the conduct gave "the appearance of a coverup" and dismissed the murder charge. Spencer was running for sheriff against the incumbent whose department handled the evidence. In the Mackenzie Shirilla case, investigators proved a double murder without a confession or testimony — using a data recorder that captured the accelerator floored at close to a hundred miles per hour with zero braking, surveillance footage showing a controlled trajectory, prior threats, a rehearsal drive, and coded jail calls that allegedly revealed a plan to fabricate a medical defense. In the Anna Kepner case, DNA evidence points to Timothy Hudson with 120 sextillion-to-one certainty, and injuries consistent with sustained force ruptured both of Anna's eardrums. But the FBI's lead agent couldn't confirm whether DNA was collected from Anna's neck — the area connected to the cause of death. The judge allowed Hudson to remain free on bond.Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer and retired FBI Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program Chief Robin Dreeke join Tony Brueski for an extended analytical conversation about how the Bureau evaluates each of these failures, what the evidence tells them that it doesn't tell the general public, and where each case stands heading toward resolution.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Today's poem is At the End of a Good Week, the Van Broke Down by Mary Ardery. The Slowdown is your daily poetry ritual. In this episode, Maggie writes… “Poetry, instead of asking questions like How did I get here? or What should I do? often deals more with the senses. Questions like What did it look like? How does it sound, taste, feel? Questions that ask us to witness. Much of the advice we receive assumes we have a level of control. But life doesn't always work like that. We're so often rolling with the punches, trying to hold our sorrows, or, to wring out a little pleasure and joy along the way.” This show is supported by gifts from listeners. If your skincare routine suddenly stings, burns, or triggers redness you've never dealt with before, menopause is likely the reason — and it has nothing to do with finding the wrong product. In this episode of Spa Skin & Beauty, Menopause Skin Specialist and Master Esthetician Lindsey Holder breaks down the biology behind reactive menopausal skin: why the barrier becomes more fragile during hormonal decline, what's driving rosacea-like symptoms in perimenopause, and why the standard advice to add more actually makes things worse. In this episode: Why ceramide production slows when estrogen declines and what that does to skin structure How tight junction integrity affects product penetration and why your serum suddenly stings The vasomotor connection between hot flashes and facial flushing Why menopausal redness is often misidentified as rosacea — and why that distinction changes everything What barrier stabilization actually looks like before reintroducing actives If your skin has become unpredictable, reactive, or harder to manage in your 40s or 50s, this episode gives you the structural explanation no one else is providing. Lindsey Holder is a Menopause Skin Specialist and Master Esthetician with 16+ years of hands-on practice. She helps women in perimenopause and menopause recalibrate their skincare to restore firmness, clarity, and glow without Botox or fillers. David is not only a novelist. He is a former global macro strategist, described by Bloomberg as “one of the most outspoken voices on Wall Street,” with a Ph.D. in economics from Columbia and a career that spanned the IMF, London, and New York. What makes this book unusual and interesting for this moment in time is that it translates decades of economic transformation into human stories we can all recognize. The novel tells the story of globalization through nine interlinked lives that converge during a hostage crisis at the Bull & Bear Bar in New York on the eve of the 2008 financial crisis. From a Chinese factory director to a Wall Street bond salesman, a Japanese media celebrity to a Mexican undocumented worker, the novel shows how decisions made in one part of the world ripple outward in ways no one fully controls. As the former Bank of America Head of Global Interest Rates, Foreign Exchange, Emerging Markets Fixed Income Strategy & Economics Research (2010 – 2020), David's perspective is unique - he helped interpret and forecast the forces that reshaped trade, finance, geopolitics, and capital flows. Now, through fiction, he opens a window into what those forces did to ordinary lives, how they formed the world we inhabit today, and why so many people feel both enriched and dislocated by it.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

Host Rashidah sits down with Evonne Rooks, an autism mom from Richmond, Virginia, who shares her son AJ's autism diagnosis in January 2023 following speech regression after COVID, her initial shock, and how ABA therapy helped her move forward. Six months later, Evonne sought ER care for what she thought was a severe migraine; imaging revealed major brain swelling and an MRI confirmed a massive left cerebellum stroke that had occurred two days earlier and covered about 75% of the region, nearly costing her life. What happens when two military content creators sit down and break down each other's videos in real time?In this episode of the Meech Speaks Podcast, Demetrius Thigpen (U.S. Marine Corps) sits down with Camo Talk to have a raw, unfiltered conversation about military leadership, mentorship, accountability, and the reality behind what we post online.Instead of a typical interview, they react to each other's content and give honest perspectives on topics like: • The REAL problem with mentorship in the military • Why some leaders fail their Marines and soldiers • Leadership vs ownership — what it actually means • Emotional intelligence vs “being sensitive” • Toxic leadership and repeating cycles • Why military appearance matters more than you think • The truth about work ethic, burnout, and being taken advantage of • Confidence vs delusion in the militaryThis episode is for active duty service members, veterans, future recruits, and anyone interested in real conversations about military life and leadership. If you've ever questioned leadership, felt overlooked, or wanted real talk without the filter — this one's for you.
Welcome back to the podcast, I'm Jamie Baynes. A few weeks ago, I got an email from a publicist asking if I'd like to interview Dr. David Woo, an economist, investment strategist, and former head of macro strategy at Bank of America. Oh, and he'd also just written a novel and lives in Israel. So was I interested? What I was was intimidated. I haven't the slightest knowledge about economics or macro investments, though I am an avid reader. So I replied to her and told her that I'd absolutely be interested in talking to Dr. Woo, but to please let him know that my podcast is primarily about positivity and ask if he'd still like to be a guest. She replied that he sure would, and here he is.I hope you enjoy our conversation. After you listen, tell me what you think of Dr. Woo. Truth be told, before most of my episodes with new guests, I'm always a bit nervous making that call to connect with them for the interview. The nervousness was intensified with Dr. Woo because of my lack of knowledge about globalization, but within the first minute or so of the conversation, my nervousness disappeared because Dr. Woo is so friendly and down-to-earth. Plus, his novel sounds classically exciting, so I can't wait to check it out.I'd like to thank Dr. Woo for taking the time out of his schedule to talk to me, and wish him the best of luck on his novel and any future Hollywood or Netflix deals that are just around the corner.Check out Dr. Woo's website here ⬇️⬇️⬇️https://www.davidwoounbound.com/And his YouTube page here ⬇️⬇️⬇️https://www.youtube.com/c/davidwoounboundAnd, as always, I'd like to thank you for listening, and I hope you continue to do so.Until next time, take care of one another, and thanks for listening.
