Ever wonder how many ways you can get injured in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu? Well, Boris Brajovic went out and actually asked 881 people. For real. A blue belt with a brain, Boris took a deep dive into the science of BJJ injuries for his master's thesis — and came back with data that might just save your knees, shoulders, and ego.We talk about what injuries happen most, how they happen, and what you can do to maybe avoid becoming a statistic in the next open mat. Plus, Boris' work got a shout-out on Jake Luigi's YouTube channel, "Less Impressed More Involved", which basically makes him internet famous now.

Bless you, that's what I think is the correct best way to greet somebody and at the same time making the best use of my words as possible. Why only bless when you sneeze? When you show a sign of weakness do I invoke God? Nah , lets make it more common. Feels better, no? Sponsors!I owe you beautiful beasts so much, listen Kaizen ! You are doing something that will stand for generations to come and I stand with you because you stand with me and all off the BJJ community. Braus man am I proud that I have you guys on my side, more so I am proud of Marcelo the representative of Braus in Europe. He is also 2024 European Champion! I mean this guy believes in what he sales and believes in the gentle art to the point that he goes out there and stands on the front lines. Tell me a better example, therefore this one goes to Marcelo. OSS Thank you for Everything and Congratulations on Winning the Euros. Interview Fantastic, that's what it was. The day started of with Jeroen and I leaving Amsterdam in the morning to do an openmat in Sint Niklaas near Antwerp. The trip was fun you always get to warm up to deeper conversations with somebody if you take a car trip with them and i had the best of company for this. When we arrived nothing had prepared us for such a Good class, we were treated to a seminar kind of class from Maarten and a sneak peak of his Porrada Passing System. This of course means that im immediately thinking of going home and Porrada on everybody's guard. And yooooo jumping jambalaya on a stick that stuff was great. Afterwards i got my guard smashed by him during openmat but we shall not speak about that now. Focus its about the podcast. It started smooth the goal of the Podcast was to speak on the following themes that he himself kind of dropped during casual conversation and I built my questions around it. The themes of this podcast are ; Faith, Family and Friends. The rest my dear friends I'll let you listen to by yourselves. but let me tell you, i went home with my mind and soul well fed as i was presented with a banquete of good conversation. Today is a special day because I am speaking to a master I've met before at the beginning of my journey in a seminar I had while living in Belgium as a blue belt. Funny how the world spins and we end up sitting across from each other and having an actual conversation now for the podcast where we get to record who he is and what he does for future generations. There is going to be an opportunity to meet him soon in november of 2023 here in Amsterdam so if you're in the neighbourhood his seminars are awesome! This episode is recorded in Portuguese, sorry for my english speaking fans, no worries we have plans to make the podcast bigger with your help and having them on youtube in the future with translations. I wanted to thank Braus for giving the opportunity for me to create the podcast itself and they are just awesome with their products that supports lives in ways that we don't think possible yet, also for them openly supporting my onlyfans that is dedicated to body shaming in BJJ Special thanks to Kaizen league for supporting this podcast as well , they are the main contribution to my onlyfans which also feeds my need for attention and keeps me mentally stable. Aproveitam ! oss ! Love you All,Stay sexy Support the show
Sponsors for this videoAs always its a pleasure to thank Braus for their ongoing support on making me look good while I absolutely terrorize the middle aged, middle class working men and women of this generation with pseudo homo erotic breastfeeding shenanigans. Remember when you look good people will let you do shit to them and i look the best in Braus Pro light Black Gi. Check it here. Also Thank you to Kaizen for making this episode possible ! they are changing the game of Bjj competitions in the world. That's all i will say for now cause nothing will justify the tsunami of A class competition heading our way. In today's episode, we journey back in time to explore the remarkable life and legacy of Mitsuyo Maeda, a true pioneer of Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.Episode Highlights:Born in 1878 in Funagata, Japan, Mitsuyo Maeda's journey from a small village to becoming a global martial arts icon is nothing short of inspirational. As a young man, he trained under Judo's founder, Jigoro Kano, and quickly established himself as one of the most talented and innovative martial artists of his time.Maeda embarked on a journey that would take him across the world, showcasing the power and effectiveness of Judo. He became a traveling martial artist, captivating audiences in countries as far-reaching as Europe, North America, and even the Amazon rainforest. But it was Maeda's fateful encounter with a young Brazilian named Carlos Gracie in 1917 that changed the course of martial arts history forever. Together, they laid the foundation for what would later become Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a martial art that emphasized leverage, technique, and strategy over sheer strength.Support the show

So last time i gave a little bit of a teaser to who jigoro kano is and today i plan to go a little deeper with this Podcast but i will only go into the history of how jigoro kanos life has been. Its truly remarkable and inspiring, i mean if you a looking for a roll model He is a very good candidate to have and i admire him more and more the more i read about him and his work. You see his focus has always been on one thing, make better the life of those around you and yes although the reason he started jujutsu and learning jujutsu was to be stronger and fight back against his bullies he still transformed that initial urge into something that to this day could change the world. I will go on to the philosophy in the second part of the podcast. In the first part I will talk about his life so we have a fundamental understanding of where this man came from. What is up my beautiful Martial Artists. Today I am once again very blessed to bring you something worth your time and attention as per usual, all other nonsensical things I scream at passing cars on the Highway usually doesn't get recorded. Mostly those moments are full of grunts and naughty words that would make a videogame streamer blush. So not really worth pulling out my microfone for that. (I might record these in the future for guided meditation reasons) But enough of my outbursts lets get to what is important. I was talking to Emad and he is coming out with a spectacular line up for his Amsterdam BJJ Camp this year that promises to surpass the previous instalments by leaps and bounds and of course I had some questions I wanted to ask. This time its going to be a full week of enjoying and learning from the worlds best and brightest. I wont spoil much in this Bio, rather I invite you to listen to: Whats going to Happen Whos is comingGive aways? Why seminars are good for you What you can expectHow to retain the information given to youHow to get the most of having these Geniuses sharing the mat with you. Link to support us is below. We traversed the Netherlands for this one. From Amsterdam all the way to Breda where I had the opportunity to chop it up with Harun. Harun is an exceptional human being and amazing coach that I personally enjoyed speaking to a lot! We arrived at the gym to participate in a training with none other then Reinier the Ridder. The gym which is above a Monkey Town so the first temptation of the day had to be fought of right at arrival. As we enter we are greeted by a gorilla statue. This set the mood for what was awaiting us inside. The training was awesome and the vibe was amazing and that's something that added to my interest in the coaches of Combat Brothers! After the training we had a talk and man there was so much interesting about this man that I immediately planned a podcast session with him. I tried to ask the questions that would put into to words that specific vibe you get from an awesome gym and it was a sound succes! Hope you guys enjoy! To learn more about Harun and his work check out there website at https://combatbrothers.nl/Love you all :) Julio VinkeSupport the show
I know, I know, this episode titel sounds like some kind of shamanic power word to get yourself hyped up but, alas, that would be to far from the truth. Its actually a human ! A superhuman ( all martial artists hold for the marvel-esque status of supernatural ) and this superhuman's power is his amazing energy ! Guys I cant really breakdown into bits how this episode went. We talked about BJJ, business, the grind of being a martial artist, coaching styles, BJJ techniques and principles and a lot more. It was an awesome conversation, one that has allowed me to learn about this amazing human being and has brought insight as to how I, Julio, think. This something which has always been the goal of my podcasts: Understanding. On this fine day my understanding grew thanks to Tum. I truly hope that this beautiful Coachs mind may also enlighten you on your martial arts journey and realize that it is a necessary tool to have whilst making your way through life. Fighting is in our nature. Nature is what defines us when we choose to stand and fight. It's not always necessarily physical. Let's say it like this: Every morning when you wake up you choose to go another round, to work your way through this world, to resist the temptation of nothingness and fight for meaning in everything you do and say. And I am happy to have spoken to a “real one” that also exemplifies this. Check him out to learn more about him on his : Instagram Website And hey if you happen to have some pocket change just laying around, waiting to be donated to a good cause then why not SUPPORT THE CHANNEL. I love money and I love what it can do. I want every single penny because I can take it and use it for cocaine and ho.... For honorable purposes expanding the work we are doing now and bringing more people into this great community. I also get to pass on valuable information on Mental health care, Physical care, Emotional intelligence and Spiritual care all this for the benefit and growth of man and mankind. Wow, I ended up inspiring myself with this description, shit I might go out and do something brave today. Have a good one! Love you all! JulioSupport the show
Well this is kind of a monologue kind of an appreciation podcast about somebody that helped me a lot. There are many more amazing people in my life. I was entertaining the thought of of doing some of these podcasts about their story's for a while. Now and you know what lets start with Gijs. Now there are some weird injuries you can get in BJJ and some might seem obvious but because you don't hear about them that much they kind of fly under the radar. The injury I had was some sort of weird nerve damage because of a failed takedown attempt on my part that resulted in me not being able to feel my hand or arm for a while.Luckily Gijs came to the rescue and this is me thanking him in the best way I know how to. This man is what I would call the modern day Shaman that walks around through a village and cures everybody with his mastery of pressure point manipulation. Sounds crazy but you know what seeing is believing so reach out to him and you'll see what I mean ! Hope you enjoy ! Love you all,Julio Vinke. Support the show

Not only is he an example to me of dedication, oh no he is also a living example walking the path, the "do" if you will, of Martial artists just by the way he lives. From his simple answer on how he got into BJJ to insights on how his life has taken a turn during corona and his view on certain aspects pertaining to grappling and the community. All of it to me is valuable wisdom and i am happy to have talked to him and sad that i wasn't quick enough to setup my recording gadgets to record everything this man said. I dont want to give too much away on in the description so i wont. Ill leave you with this , listen and enjoy. There is alot to learn from this man and his mind is truly something awesome to behold. When you do something in such a natural fashion or so easily it feels just like breathing.Well somehow we fuck up breathing. I mean have you ever seen those videos where bodybuilders or powerlifters lift weights and afterwards they just take a nose dive right into the squat rack? Basically because their brain just said “goodnight”? Improper breathing technique and ego lifting will be the death of you. Today, I might be able to help you out with the breathing part. Ego lifting is part of toxic masculinity and I can't help you with that, consider it a lion a day. I went down the rabbit hole of the wonderful world of proper breathing and right down there I met Chaim. Guys this was a great one again, we talked about bjj ( ofcourse ), how to build a following what a man should be and a lot of great topics and ideias. one of the major ideias that came to mind after listening to it was. What constitutes success? Is it the admiration of many ? building a following ? is it the following of haters ? is it having the spotlight placed upon you? I think my latest guest constitutes success without having it to be a necessary part of the definition of whom he is. "That's a lot of big words for somebody that looks like he eats bananas with the skin on as you do Julio" I know ! what I'm saying by this is that Azzi, this truly majestic example of the male specimen, has success as a result of him being who he is and doing what i believe everyman was put on earth to do. To follow your passion, to work hard ( very hard ) , to create space for others to thrive in ( community), and to inspire. I had an awesome talk with him as we chopped it up and the hours just flew by easily and honestly i cant wait to have another one.Hope you Guys enjoy ! So I'm strolling along in a competition in Amsterdam, as i fancy to do every now and then, and wouldn't you know it Marcelo is there walking around form one mat to the other, big smile on his face super energetic having the time of his life. First thought was: Dealing in Bjj Gear is a lot happier process then drug dealing, although its basically the same business model its is a nobler ambition in life.I mean have you ever seen a happy drug dealer on tv ? If you did good for you but ill bet my left nut they weren't as happy as my brother that day! Second thing that came to mind was: " is i should have him on the podcast, i mean he is fighting the good fight and out there husslin and training and having a good time at it" So i talked to him and he was up for it and man what an awesome conversation we had. I mean downright felt like i was chopping it up with an old friend. The knowledge he passed on and the drive he has in life is downright inspiring and I'm super happy that this conversation is recorded for the future generations. I'm also happy to announce that after our talk ill be working together with Braus in exchange for free diplomatic passage to Australia and other country's that fall under Australian jurisdiction. I also required a pet Emu and I'm happy to say negotiations are going well. So if you like koalas, BJJ , good gear , happiness, children's smiles, good advice, home cooking and all that good stuff then this is the podcast for you and this is the gear for you. now if you don't love all these things then this podcast is for you adn this BJJ Gear Brand aswell. I sit down with Daniel de Groot.... again ... and what a great pleasure it always is ! So what else is there to know ? So..so.. much! This time our conversation went deeper, longer and harder than before. Stop giggling you bunch of twelve year old's…I know that might sound dirty to you, but I can assure you it was a very pleasant and lovely experience (and PG12 rated). We talked about different training methods, the actual use of BJJ, why take it up to begin with, and other such inquiries that go beyond your simple questions about technique. I absolutely believe that movement and training are essencial to one's existence and growth. Yeah guys, I went there, lifting is part of life bros, (lifting bros too). Episodio em Ingles versão Portuguesa ( brasil ) em breve Our guests today are : Astrid and Anne MarieAh the dreaded GGD To the point where every person living in the Netherlands knows and fears de GGD, or at least has cussed them out a couple of times. But why we got to be so rude? Don't we know they are humans too? Don't they share in the same afflictions as we do? Well on this fine day I had the pleasure of having tea and a chat with two of the loveliest specimens the GGD had to offer, to talk about stuff that, at some point in the last 2 years, has made us terribly upset. Not the kind of upset that can be cured with some food, a nap and a cuddle. Oh no no no, we are talking about deep civil unrest. Who is to blame during a pandemic? Bats? Batman ? The Chinese black market ? Putin? Is there any blame to be slathered? Aren't we all just bamboozled with everything that is happening?Well, to begin with, part of this podcast stands as a monument to what Corona is and isn't and what Vaccines do and don't do. and i would like to thank to two very special guests I had the pleasure of hosting, who graciously gave me their time to adress the bumbling baboon questions I had. I felt like a lesser primate in their presence and yet they treated me as their equal. Amazingly patient people. Such wow. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it. big OSS julioSupport the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/cauliflowerdonations)
Beijo no coração Júlio Vinke Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/cauliflowerdonations)
Fala pessoal ! YOYOYO New year new podcast ambitions and this year we are starting up things the right way ! From Monkeys ripping off dicks to beggars shuffles, to turtle positions, swords and shields. Raoul has answers to questions you didn't even know you had.Raoul a brown belt under the mad scientist Priit Mikhelson has started up his own gym, tribe grappling, in Almere and is also one of the head coaches in 10thplanet Amsterdam. He has two Instructional DVDs out right now that you can find in the links below and they are awesome sauce game changers . Lately he has been doing the rounds on your favorite social media platform because he just started pulling turtle guard on innocent , unsuspecting victims in a grappling tournament ( video is linked on his Instagram and frankly almost everywhere go look at it cause its the most entertaining shit I have seen in a while). As usual I had a blast speaking to him and if it where up to me we would still be going. Its just always inspiring to talk to somebody that loves martial arts and is evolving the game like he is. I hope you guys enjoy listening to this as much as I have enjoyed making this together with our awesome guest and Ondrej the unsung hero and driving force behind cauliflower. https://www.instagram.com/kocholaty/ Stay blessed you animals ! Check our partners in crimehttps://www.companyoffriends.nlhttps://www.amsterdamgrappling.academyhttps://www.accompanied.nl OshiMoshi to all you beautiful listeners. Its been a while, actually no, its been too damn long. I know, I know,I know….We shouldn't have left you in the dark for so long. But in the dark we have been planning, working, plotting and colluding to bring you loyal folk something special. Through our podcasts, we always envisioned the goal to portray fighting and life, and life and fighting, plus how the lessons taught and learned in one of these elements can be used to your benefit in the other. Now, the following podcast does seem to deviate a bit from the original idea and format we usually present to you. This special edition podcast is more about migrants and immigration, the call of the unknown, the venturing into the sea and beyond the horizon. The restless gypsy soul that, somewhere deep down, resides in all of us. A beautiful Voyage. The beaches, the excitement, the newness. And yet, nothing could be further from the truth. There is always an internal struggle between two evils; A fight with oneself and with the new environment one finds him or herself to be in. Wether it's the new country which has yet to be explored and understood, or the heartache for our familiar home that we with leave behind. How do you grapple with yourself? How do you defend yourself from the blows that come from within ? How do you rise above it ? How do we all learn to live with this? The podcast has been done in Portuguese, why? Well, first off, because Joquebed (our dear guest) is a full blood and pure Brazilian and the message she had to bring is for Brazilians that are living abroad. Not only is the message inspiring and insightful, the warmth and familiarity with which Jô speaks is heartwarming at the very least. We sincerely hope you enjoy our Podcast.Queridos e queridas! Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/cauliflowerdonations)

If you like UFC and follow anything about mma online , you indubitably have come across a video or watched the whole fight ( on khabibs stream , which he did next to Dana ) of Kevin Holland just not shutting up during his fight. Well is it effective is the question ? was it too much ? should he recite Shakespeare Othello next time ? These are my thoughts and they are amazing and definitely worth more then contemporary poetry.Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/cauliflowerdonations)
