Exposed thongs were all the rage in the early 2000s thanks to a handful of massive pop cultural moments, but as the craze reached the mainstream market and trickled down to teens and tweens, the skank-shaming heated up as did the moral panics and political backlash. Millennials, however, were far from the first generation to experience thong drama, and for this episode we will go back through the last ten decades to see how half of the time moral guardians have tried to legislate the thong out of existence and the other half of the time, the thong has been the thin black line that separated adventurous Americans from the long arm of the law. This toxic season of RHONJ may have ended with a bang thanks to Louie Ruelas' claims against Margaret and her family, but the toxicity off line is boiling over in excess. Thanks to Louie's on line apology, deleted scenes, fake scenes, Andy Cohen's warnings to Louie, Teresa and Louie's love fest podcast and last, but certainly not least, Louie's comments about thongs, skin, short skirts and Tre's daughters, there is more happening off air since last night's watch party than the whole entire season. Jennifer Aydin refusing to accept her fate, Danielle Cabral making it clear she loves her husband, the fans giving it to Jackie as they urge for a Margaret redemption tour, a calm cool Melissa and more more. Spilling more tea that we have never heard before, Melissa's Old Nose returns to close out this RHONJ season as we prepare for a very long, if not indefinite as we know it, pause. @behindvelvetrope @davidyontef BONUS & AD FREE EPISODES Available at - www.patreon.com/behindthevelvetrope BROUGHT TO YOU BY: RO - ro.co/velvet (For Prescription Compounded GLP-1s At a Fraction Of The Cost Of The Name Brands) BYHEART - ByHeart.com/Podcast (Use Code VELVET To Redeem Your Welcome Offer On Their Clinically Proven Easy-to-digest Infant Formula) GREENLIGHT - greenlight.com/velvetrope (Sign Up For Greenlight Today and Get Your First Month Free Of the Debit Card and Money App Made For Families) ROSETTA STONE - rosettastone.com/today (50% Off Unlimited Access to 25 Language Courses For The Rest of Your Life) HAPPY MAMMOTH - happymammoth.com (Get 15% Off With Code Velvet the Best Products For Menopause or Perimenopause) FIJI WATER - www.fijiwater.com (Pick Up The #1 Premium Imported Bottled Water Brand In The US At a Store Near You or Order Online) RAKUTEN - rakuten.com (Get the Rakuten App NOW and Join the 17 Million Members Who Are Already Saving!
