    104: Finding Your Inner Spark Again

    When we lose our spark and motivation, and we're in this limbo energy where we may feel directionless and in a loop of the same mundane things We can see it as an inner flame that is dimly lit – the following suggestions are ways in which we can ignite and add to our inner fire.   1.       Pouring more energy into the self, investing in compassionate empowering self-talk, placing your dreams at the forefront of your mind vs fears + worries (self-sabotage bc we were inadvertently told we didn't deserve to be happy or think of ourselves first).   Putting yourself first is key if you're a recovering people pleaser – bc people-pleasing, saying yes, and having little boundaries will drain our energy fast – when we lose ourselves in the wants of others, we begin to lose our connection to self and our inner flame. This happens in relationships too if we have a tendency to be over-nurturing and find it challenging to Receive energy. we'll give so much of our own energy that we become depleted. That rejection to receiving, coupled with over-giving, is like depriving our inner flame of oxygen; it needs that oxygen to burn. 2.       Finding what motivates you – is it freedom, love, joy, creativity, or connection? You can find the answer by asking yourself questions like, “what kind of life would cause me to jump out of bed early and happily begin my day? What am I doing in this dream day that makes me so excited?” “what does success look like to me?” you can start as small as you want to - but visualize this, write down what you're doing, and from there you can see what energies are fueling you in your dream day – freedom, love, newness, creativity, etc. Once you find the energy that truly motivates you – think of one or two activities that are going to bring similar energy to you. if you are looking for freedom – what can you do daily that will help you feel free? It can be as small as visualizing your ideal life in the morning for a couple of minutes. 3.       Tuning into Source energy – if you're feeling fatigued and that's playing a role in not feeling connected to your inner spark, this is energy that can be shifted into something that serves you in a higher way. A few techniques to shift fatigue - Rebirthing breathwork aka circle breath (back to the fire needing oxygen analogy), EFT tapping on fatigue, high frequencies like 432 or 528 hertz, programmed water, reiki for empaths/letting go/releasing energy that isn't yours, and a nourishing morning routine that pours energy into elevating you - empowering, inspiring, and reminding you of my divinity and sovereignty. 4.       Lastly, follow your intuition – that comes with a deeper connection to the self, which the last 3 steps will help with!     097: Ayurveda - Kapha Dosha

    KAPHA DOSHA If you don't have any knowledge already of the ayurvedic doshas, you may benefit from listening to our episode #39 Realign your life with the ayurvedic doshas before listening to this episode! to recap: in Ayurveda medicine, we are each made up of 3 main doshas, or Types that we tend to hold more or less of in our bodies, minds, and spirits. It is said that when these 3 dosha constitutions are in balance with each other, WE are in balance – thus our bodies are healthy and vibrant, our minds are clear and calm, and we are much more in flow. In this episode, we'll dive into the third type, Kapha dosha. we'll be covering the energetics behind this dosha, some mindset tweaks, and how you can bring balance to certain areas of your life. You'll walk away from this episode knowing if you need less or more of Kapha dosha in your life to find your middle ground. The Kapha dosha is associated with the elements of Earth and Water. Think calm, slow, heavy, cool, soft, and steady. This dosha is associated with the respiratory system – the sinuses, throat, and bronchi, as well as fluids, regulation, and nourishment in our bodies – like the acids that aid digestion and the lubrication for our joints, spine, and nerves. Imo its main energy is in the root and heart chakras. If you have a predominance of Kapha dosha in your physical body, you'll find - You have a strong or heavy build with excellent stamina, large eyes, soft and radiant skin, thick hair and normal digestion - gain weight easily - are prone to a slow metabolism, congestion, oversleeping, depression, and lethargy If you have dominant Kapha energy in your mental/emotional body, you find - you make slow decisions, are detail oriented, and consistent - often experience the following: stubbornness/sluggishness/stagnancy/depression/dullness/complacency - prefer routine and doing one thing at a time - you have a subjective feeling of heaviness in the mind and may find yourself deeply stuck in a pattern that isn't serving you (without realizing) this dosha also has a multitude of strengths – when it's in balance in the mind we are thoughtful, forgiving, patient, and even tempered. When it's in balance in the body we feel a strong sense of support, grounded-ness, and endurance. The Kapha mind also tends to be more emotionally stable and even-tempered especially when in balance – this dosha is compassionate, empathetic, laid-back, and has a cool temperament. Stress may send this dosha out of balance which may cause them to be over analytical, judgmental, jealous, or competitive. They resonate with the earthy astrological signs – Virgo, Capricorn, and Taurus, as well as the watery signs Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. in order to bring balance to any dosha, we use opposites as medicine. Kapha is earth and water – the opposites would be light, warm, dry, and active. Any meditations or movements that warm the body, stimulate circulation, and encourage movement in general to help release “stickiness” from the mind/body are beneficial for Kapha. The key is for this individual to feel light, clear, and to release stagnation and heaviness. By incorporating activity, change, movement, and stimulation - the Kapha can better avoid stagnancy, excess coolness, or heaviness in the mind body spirit. For yoga poses, the best are ones that help awaken the body gradually through the senses by using breath, imagination, and the stimulation of emotions – preferably in the morning to set Kapha up for more energy throughout the day. Example of a good yoga flow for kapha would be sun salutations in between standing poses, like forward bends and twists. Breathing slow and rhythmic to maintain concentration during the poses. As far as meditation goes, anything that focuses on releasing attachment, cleaning mental sluggishness, or focuses on purification are great for kapha dominant persons. As far as foods, tastes that stabilize Kapha are pungent, bitter, and astringent. Examples: pungent – chili peppe

Think hot, sharp, light, liquid, and spreading like fire and oil. This dosha governs the digestive system, body temperature, vision, skin, intelligence, and emotions. Imo its main energy is in the solar plexus chakra, and sacral chakra. If you have a predominance of Pitta dosha in your physical body, you'll find - You have a medium physique, have a good digestive system, and have a lot of stamina/ love moving your body to reduce stress - can gain or lose weight with small changes to lifestyle - are prone to rashes, inflammation, oily skin, and acne - hormonal, auxiliary, vision, mental and/or emotional issues If you have dominant Pitta energy in your mental/emotional body, you find - you make quick decisions, are prone to hold yourself and others to very high standards, are driven, direct, and love routine - often experience the following: anger/irritability/frustration/blame/judgment/perfectionism - prefer organization, order, planning and following through on an average number of tasks daily - you sleep well and wake up energized this dosha also has a multitude of strengths – when its in balance in the mind we feel intelligent, motivated, purposeful, are quick to learn, succeed, and thrive in a leadership role. When it's in balance in the body we are strong, flexible, have consistent stamina, and good digestion or Agni (digestive fire). The Pitta mind also tends to be highly focused, sharp and discerning –they're ambitious, accomplished, determined, and persuasive speakers who are great at problem-solving. Stress may send this dosha out of balance which may cause them to be over analytical, judgmental, jealous, or competitive. They resonate with the fiery astrological signs - Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, as well as the watery signs Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. in order to bring balance to this dosha, and really, any dosha, we use opposites as medicine. Pitta is fire, humid, hot, spicy, force, liquid, penetrating – the opposites would be cool, sweet, soft, dry, grounding, nourishing. Think going with the flow, surrender, letting go, and allowing ease – which may sound challenging to the Pitta dominant person. Any meditations or movements that allow the letting go of overheated emotions are beneficial for Pitta. The key is to get the excess “fire” of this dosha pacified to allow balance in. By incorporating natural cycles of rest/relaxation, somatic movement, and balancing of the mind by cooling emotions like anger, resentment, or hatred – the Pitta can better avoid overworking, overexercising, or “burn-out” in life. For yoga poses, the best are ones that encourage relaxation, subtleness, and refinement in the body without creating too much heat– examples would be balancing half-moon, seated and lying twists, wide- legged forward fold, and tree pose – all done while breathing with a longer exhale and/or slight holding of the breath after exhale - to let go of the excess heat. As far as foods, tastes that stabilize Pitta are sweet, bitter, and astringent. Examples: Sweet – most fruits like mangos, c

    078: The People Pleasing Trap

    Those who are sensitive to energy like empaths are more prone to people pleasing. Why? Empaths can feel energy around them of others. When they've been in this energy all their lives, there is a tendency for lack of boundaries within self. There is less structure between where their energy starts and where the person standing next to them (for example) ends. Think of two boundaries melting in together, but normally only the empath is sensitive to this and perceives the energy of the person next to them, as their own. This is partly why you often hear of empaths taking on the pain of others close to them, or even strangers. We live in an energetic universe where if we consciously choose to do so, we dissolve the physical boundaries of time and space and tap into “oneness” with the universe. this is essentially what an energy healer does during a healing session for example. The problem with this for empaths, is there's this wounded masculine energy due to lack of container. Lack of personal structure, of where your energy starts and ends. Bc for so long empaths have placed their energy in the other, they subconsciously seek validation from the other rather than themselves. When we kids and experienced this, it was a survival mechanism we used in order to receive the approval of our caretakers and peers. We went against our own feelings, thoughts, beliefs in order to not “stir the pot” because perhaps we felt love, validation and support were withdrawn from us when we did. so some of us may have learnt to just be agreeable and go with the flow all the time without putting our two cents in basically. In other cases, we may have stifled our creativity and ideas (imagination) because they weren't received well when we expressed them, and we felt cut off from our core needs (love, support, validation) if we did express ourselves. Being disconnected from ourselves and our bodies like this for so long, can lead to many detrimental energies, some of them being; feeling unworthy on your own sense of loneliness lack of sense of true self feeling confused and unaware of your purpose attracting narcissists neediness energy lack of boundaries finding sense of safety in others lack of trust in self   how to heal this wound? Practice being more in your body than your mind. This allows us to observe that we are in our own vessel, our own body, there is separation between us and the other, we are having our own spiritual experience, and this isn't separating ourselves in a negative way, it's simply observing that we have boundaries, we have power within our own body and we are not reliant on anyone else. We all have an inner child that is worthy regardless of the validation we receive or don't receive from the external world, for example. Once we start gifting ourselves the core values that every human needs, which is that love/attention/acceptance, support/belonging/validation and the freedom, then you will truly be unstoppable. As always, life is a delicate balance. There will be times when we need to feel the empathy, the oneness, the unity. And there will be times when we are a bit too much in that energy or in our heads to healthily set boundaries and reestablish our sense of self. Knowing ourselves, observing ourselves and where we are can be helpful. It is like the in breath and the out breath. The flow and the force. take a moment to breathe slowly into your body right now. Feel your hands, your feet, your breath moving through you. your breath is your power.     074: Feminine & Masculine Desires

    Behind every intention and desire there exists two main categories of energies. Our feminine and our masculine.  When we go about bringing anything into our reality, we embody both of these energies without even realizing it. Anything that is being created, or shifted, or coming into our existence, requires energy output. Feminine energy output looks like; the dreaming, the vision, the attracting. It is collaboration, the journey, the nurturing, the release. I have a quote on my mirror that encapsulates the feminine aspect of manifesting, “give your ideas and inspirations the space, attention, and nourishment they require.” On the other hand, masculine energy output looks like; the pursuit, the decisions, the solving, the result. Visually to me, this looks like the masculine observing the feminine's vision which is wisdom, intuition, and love, but may look like a bunch of floating, moving parts to the material world because she works so much in the unseen world, and the masculine takes these moving parts and grounds them into something material and tangible.   Every water body has a container, it is held by earth, whether it's by borders, banks, slopes, rocks, etc. The masculine is the materializer, the implementer, the structure in which the feminine is held. The feminine is the oracle, the flow, the water. Without the feminine, the masculine's life is dry. Without the masculine, the feminine's life is chaos.   The masculine is the container that holds the vision, the flow, the feminine. your confidence, your consistency, is the masculine container in which the spiral is created from.  Your vision is the energy flowing up that spiral and giving it LIFE. The force behind it and the container is the masculine force. The feminine is the feeling, the color, the life. These energies co-exist with and within each other. As the feminine births life into this reality, you are birthing your vision into reality. you showing up daily is giving structure to your vision, your flow is being held by this masculine container. Once the vision is pollenated (as the masculine does), and birthed into existence, it requires less action and more flow, as you've built the crystalline structure in which the energy travels in. The structure is natural and secured in reality. At the same time, your vision and intuition IS direction. The yin and yang – both energies exist within each other and respect and honor the other when one wants to show up more prominently in your life or your day. That's why it's called the divine dance of the feminine and masculine, they allow each other to take the lead when its time for them too.     073: The Missing Link Between Chakras & Healthy Relationships

    Not only do you have your own chakras, or energy wheels, within your body, but within your relationships. Essentially when two co-creators, you and your partner, decide to begin or create a relationship together, it holds its own energy and energy centers. My intention with the following insight we share is that you gain more clarity in the relationships area of your life. As we take you on a journey through the first 3 chakras and how they relate to us and our relationships, we'll include some spiritual and practical exercises to help you feel more connected not only to yourself, but to your partner as well. Starting with the….. Root chakra – since the root chakra is essentially our connection with mother nature, in a relationship it represents foundational and nurturing energies. Imbalances in this chakra can show up as fearing for your partner's safety and a lack of vitality/energy/ or nourishment in the relationship. When this chakra is balanced within a relationship, not only do both partners feel safe, secure, grounded and enlivened, but the relationship feels nourishing rather than draining.  A way to balance this chakra in a relationship is through establishing foundational and grounding energies – which requires communication and deep friendship, or a foundation for the relationship to build upon. So truly knowing your partner like you would a great friend. You can also reflect on ways your relationship nourishes you both, and ways it may drain you. From this, you can more easily start working through the what/whys behind the draining aspects of the relationship and increasing the activities or non-activities that nourish the relationship. Two practices you can do as a couple to re-establish foundational energies: The first one is a spiritual practice and the second a more practical approach. First one is a couple's meditation: set a timer for 5 minutes. Both partners will sit in front of the other, hold hands and close their eyes, focusing on the Root chakra, the area at the base of the spine. During this meditation you can each think of one way in which you can be more nurturing/nourishing toward one another, or a way to help your partner feel more secure in the relationship. After the timer, open your eyes and share your idea with your partner. The second practice is based in psychology and is called the Love Maps Questionnaire, which was adapted from Dr. John Gottman's book, The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. This is a set of True/False statements that range from “I can tell you some of my partner's life dreams” to  “I know the most stressful thing that happened to my partner as a child”. The idea behind it is to discuss your answers with your partner afterwards and use this opportunity to discover new things about them to enhance your “Love Map”, which is essentially how familiar you are with your partner's world. So the more you know and understand each other, the easier it is to stay connected and strong through life's ups and downs. The questionnaire I found for this is called the “Love Maps Questionnaire” and you can internet search it but we'll also link it in the description box. (https://laurieblaikie.com/reference/love-map-questionnaire/) Sacral chakra – this is the main area of connection and flow with each other, it represents pleasure, playfulness, creativity, and abundance in your relationship. The archetypes of this chakra are the empress and the emperor, who are drawn to things that make them feel good; think pleasurable/sensory experiences like music, great food, beautiful clothes, environments, and surroundings. Think “the taste of life”, or the “honey/sweetness” of a relationship. Imbalances in this chakra typically show up in the form of desires and emotions – so this would look like a feeling of unfulfillment surrounding your physical desires, fantasizing about intimate relationships with others while you're in a partnership, addictive behaviors around desires, unbalanced emotions such as codependency or feeling emotionally disturbed in some form with your partner, or being unable to express/release adverse emotions (which would be holding onto anger, jealousy, frustration until it festers and turns into resentment, for example).  A way to balance this chakra in a relationship is through cherishing one another. Reflect on how you were during the honeymoon phase for example, you were both likely “taking each other in” from an energy of wholeness and acceptance, wanting to connect with one another through all 5 senses. Even if we dissect the word “honey moon”, it equals “sweetness” and “one who enlightens dark nights, a heavenly body”. So the ultra sweet phase of love. It is possible to bring back this phase in waves throughout your relationship, so if you're in this “phase” with your partner now, amplify on those feelings. You can also choose to reconnect with your sacred feminine and/or sacred masculine energy, which will help to polarize the relationship in the best way so you flow together and invite in passion, abundance, and creativity back into the relationship. Check out our podcast episodes 3, 51, and 69 for more information on feminine/masculine energy. Two exercises you can do as a couple to invite in an energy of flow and sweetness with each other: The first one is another couple's meditation where you will invite in an energy of cherishing one another: set a timer for 5 minutes. Both partners will sit in front of the other, hold hands and close their eyes, focusing on the Sacral chakra, the area about two inches below your navel. During this meditation you each see yourself as the archetype of the empress/emperor in your relationship, so embodying feelings of pleasure, abundance, and wellbeing. When you open your eyes, show your partner (your fellow emperor/empress) sweetness and/or your affection. The second exercise is again psychology-based and adopted from Dr. Gottman, it's about sharing fondness and admiration for your partner. What the fondness portion of this looks like, is taking a moment to fill in the following blanks: “I'm proud of the way you _____.” “I'm attracted to your _____ (inside and out).” “I am impressed that you _____.” “I like how you _____.” Then say each sentence out loud to your partner over the course of a week. Even if it's things they already know, it's nice to hear these deeper words of affirmation as a partner. The second portion of this exercise is to show appreciation. More so, gratitude, and gratitude not just for what your partner does for you but who they are. Pick 2 or 3 their positive traits and then express to them the next time you get a chance. For example, “I appreciate that you are so balanced. I noticed it yesterday when _____.” Then you can identify why the traits you picked are of value or importance to you in a partner.   Solar plexus – this chakra is all about confidence, protection, and action within the relationship. It represents the energy that encourages you to “stay the course”, hold respect for each other, and grow/evolve together. The archetype of this center is the Warrior, and the warrior develops themselves through facing challenges, problem solving, and learning what each challenge and problem has gifted them along the way  Imbalances in this chakra can come across as a power struggle throughout the relationship and during conflict especially, which can look like the blame game (tic for tac), getting defensive, prideful, angry, and disrespecting each other. It can also show as a constant need to one-up each other, in regards of money, status, accomplishments, etc., so a sense of unhealthy competition with each other. When balanced, you will go into conflict resolution with respect. Your disposition as a couple especially during conflict will be strong, humble, and caring, because you understand you are on the same team, which will ultimately help you feel stronger and more connected. You will feel your partner supports you in your goals, aspirations, and dreams, and is rooting for your success. Your relationship will feel resilient even against the toughest of storms, because you both grow from each conflict/problem/issue that arises within the relationship. A way to balance this chakra in a relationship is through building each other up/uplifting and empowering one another, setting personal and shared goals together, and resolving conflict healthily – which requires dedication and discipline surrounding your growth as individuals and as a couple. Below is a spiritual and practical exercise you can do as a couple to strengthen your bond: The first one is to sit with your partner, enjoy a cup of calming tea together, then lovingly discuss your most recent conflict. You can embody the archetype of the respectful and caring Warrior, as you ask the questions, “Did you feel seen and heard regarding this conflict, does it feel completely resolved to you or would you like to add anything else? Is there anything you would like me to do or anything you need from me? The second exercise is also from Dr. Gottman and psychology-based - it's when you “turn towards” your partner's bids for connection rather than turning away or rejecting. What is a bid for connection? This is any attempt from one partner to another for attention, affection, or affirmation. This bid is typically hidden under a statement, so there's a text and a subtext. For example, your partner asking “how do I look?”, is a bid that they want you to please pay attention to what they're saying. Your partner mentioning that they've been cooking all day and they're tired, is a bid for you to help them de-stress. As you grow your emotional intelligence with one another you can be more straightforward with what kind of emotional connection you're actually needing, and say the underlying “bid” outright, but the first step is to notice your own bids for connection, then notice how you each do them as a couple. This exercise will be more of an ongoing one, so recognize if you're paying enough attention to your partner to recognize where/when they are wanting emotional connection with you.     072: Materialism, Money, and Happiness

    What is the actual definition of materialism? A tendency to consider material possessions and physical comfort as more important than intellectual, spiritual, or cultural values and development.    While I do not believe it is wrong to desire, and want possession of material things, I do believe the highest path for us lies in transforming our inner worlds first. Rather than chasing from a place of ego, you will then simply attract from your heart space. Because 1. you trust and 2. believe you are worthy of your desires. It's important for us to consider the why behind our desires for material things. Do we desire security, comfort, joy? And do we believe things, our material possessions (like money) will bring us these feelings? Typically, when we avoid the inner work but still have a strong desire for money, money may bring us those feelings we mentioned, but it will only be temporary. Soon we will want more, and more, and more. “More money” in a sense becomes a dopamine rush for us. But it becomes almost this power struggle between what our true desires are, and what our outer world is showing us.  The bar raises, and if we are only set on raising the bar around money and nothing else, for example, we will never feel fulfilled. Because we are not raising the bar on ourselves, but rather something outside of ourselves. And this is where the term “materialism” was birthed from. So because we are placing the utmost importance on obtaining material possessions or money, we are perpetuating a cycle of lack. The vibration of “lack” is unworthiness. We do not feel worthy of money, we fall trap to materialism, and we perhaps at a subconscious level consider our outer world (possessions, money, status) to be more important than our inner world (emotions, values, relationships) Q. What IS the inner work here? Your mind and your vibration. Aligning your mindset with one of abundance, trust, and gratitude - and observing where you have identified with lack in the past. When we believe in lack, and believe we aren't worthy of anything, whether it be money, material possessions, love, etc., our subconscious will find ways to block feelings of gratitude, and we'll see through a lens of “lack”. What this means in terms of money is we'll either spend it all, not budget well, or find some other way to STILL feel lack and like we will never have enough even when we do have money. The feeling of “worth” is temporary and not solidified within us, so the money will be temporary and we'll never feel secure with what we have. It's never about the money or material possessions, it is about our internal experience and our self-worth, subconscious and conscious. We can make the conscious choice to feel worthy, but we are truly only living 1% from our conscious mind daily while the 99 other percent is our subconscious. If you want to rewire your subconscious to feel worthy, it may take consistent work, because we are conditioned from a young age to not believe we are worthy of certain things. This work involves rewiring, deconstructing beliefs, and re-establishing new beliefs. You can do this through journaling your limiting beliefs and current stories about what you feel you deserve, what you feel is possible, and what you feel is impossible surrounding your finances, love, career, etc. This will all show you where you believe your worth is. Next you can journal what would be possible for you surrounding finances, love, career, etc. in a perfect dream world. Know this is all possible for you, if you can dream it, you can do it as cheesy as that sounds. This is nodding at the totality of the universe- so the inner knowing that not only does the universe exist inside of you, but you ARE the universe.  Amanda Frances is a manifestation money queen on social media that explains the energetics of money, possessions, etc, and how to transform your worthiness, and she breaks it down like this: Your thoughts inform your emotions. Your emotions inform your energy. Your energy is the place by which you attract from. How you attract creates your patterns. Your patterns determine your expectations and standards.   Back to materialism and how this all ties in~ If we're being real, there is a slight glorification of material things on social media – materialism can be defined as money, possessions, even outer beauty. And us being consistently exposed to this – only further leads to us placing utmost importance on obtaining/having/being these material possessions, so much so that we believe our WORTH as a human is dependent on these things. Some science ~ Acquisitiveness is the impulse to buy and possess things, and Darwin's theory of evolution played into this, he believed that since humans are conditioned to believe that resources are limited, hence humans have to “compete” over them, and try to claim as large of a percentage of them as possible.     070: The Light & Dark of Human Emotions

    Which do you gravitate more towards, light or dark? The hero or the villain? The human experience is a spectrum, a gradient of light and darkness. Throughout our lives, down to each month, week, day, we experience a wide range of emotions. Can we admit it is naïve to think that we can get to state where we only experience the light forever, or even only experience the dark forever? There will be periods of emotional states from joy to bliss to anger to sadness. The difference is whether we are making the choice again and again, to be the hero of our own lives. What this means here, is us CHOOSING to evolve and choosing to have the awareness and not allowing denser emotions to rule our lives. Instead, we lean into them without shame, we express them, and we allow ourselves to feel gratitude for this experience. Earth is a special planet in which (if you believe in other star systems) has the most dynamic and unique experience of growth vs. suffering, and free will to turn suffering into growth, if that is how we choose to see things. It's like that phrase, there is always two sides to the same coin, so which will you choose? Will you only ever look at one side due to fear or skepticism, or will you acknowledge both sides but choose which is serving you best in that moment? That may sound a little confusing, but we will dive more into what we mean here, and how it pertains to human emotions and growth: Expressing emotions healthily is how we evolve and keep our emotional mental and physical bodies healthy. We are almost like seedlings who evolve into trees, and when we are not growing, we quite literally start to decompose, which leads us to illness and health issues. But when we express our emotions as they're intended to be expressed, we can more easily return to our original blueprint of health, which in turn restores our energetic body. Some may feel disconnected from this in the way that they sweep emotions under the rug – aka only seeing the “one side of the coin” due to fear. This could also be perceived of someone crowding their truth out with love and light. There is an intimate connection between our health and our emotions. Our emotions are our truth. Emotions have a direct correlation with our physical bodies, health, well-being, expression of wellness overall. Chronic unprocessed emotions and experiences can and will manifest in the physical. Whether it be in our bodies as physical ailments, or we act as a magnet to draw more of these experiences to us for healing. How to alchemize or transmute emotions that feel heavy? - Relax in your body – bring your consciousness out of your mind and into your body - Release any noises wanting to come out such as sighs, singing, etc. and/or move body. Basically use your body as a tool, an outlet to express, release, and get everything flowing again. - Clear energy field with smudging, smoke, herbs, rose water - Take a deep cleansing breath - Come back to center, become aware of the present moment and express gratitude pertaining emotion – thank you for showing me this anger, this trigger. I see you and I feel you, thank you. From our shadows, our lesser emotions, we can create something beautiful. Everything is necessary, everything is perfect, and everything is connected, Even if we cannot see the connection right away. The darkness is necessary. The light is necessary.     The what (wounded vs. divine/awake/sacred), the why (why it's important for us to embody these energies), and the how - how to tap into and allow these dormant energies within us to shine through and help us through our life experience (finding alignment/joy in our relationships/love/sex, career/purpose, and daily lives)   What is the feminine? The feminine is the VISION. It is the flowing, openness, receiving, the creativity. She is dedicated to love. If you're in your feminine energy/core right now: You would rather someone compliment you on your beauty, wisdom, and creativity.  What is the masculine? The masculine brings STRUCTURE to the vision. It is the planning, strategizing, and the knowing. He is dedicated to purpose. If you're in your masculine energy/core right now: You would rather someone compliment you on your strength, purpose, and courage.   How to tell the difference between the two - wounded vs divine/awakened/conscious/sacred (and some practical examples – body language, expressions, traits, way about life/how they navigate) A wounded masculine will want to suppress the feminine energies around him, because instead of seeing the feminine as this beautiful and wise creature, he feels threatened on a subconscious level. He will numb out his emotions and his heart. He will come across as controlling and aggressive rather than a confident, supportive leader. His body language will say it all: is he flighty, aggressive, and acting from his head rather than grounding himself in the moment and being present? When the masculine does ground himself, is consistent, committed, clear, and acts from integrity, the feminine will naturally open like a flower to him and feel safe in his presence. In our world, the wounded masculine looks like war (because the shadow side of masculinity always has to be right), destruction of land, freedom, and replacement of ancient rituals and sacred tradition with capitalism, a hierarchy system – and anything else that may feel like there's a “suffocative” structure and rules and guidelines around it because it lacks truth and integrity. A wounded feminine will feel powerless, afraid to speak up, and disconnected from their inner voice. She likely will seek out drama because it makes her feel safe to take the attention away from herself and her truth. She will people please and seek external validation because she doesn't feel worthy of love and connection otherwise. Many wounded feminines stay in unhealthy relationships because on a subconscious level they don't Trust that there will be someone else out there that will love them. They are highly disconnected from intuition. They don't see their inner radiance that is there waiting to be uncovered, thus they don't see their worth. Her body language will be closed off, shoulders rounded in, almost as if she's cowering and hiding her radiance from the world. When the feminine heals and steps into her magic, the masculine will find her magnetic; he will want to gift her with his presence and groundedness so that she can help him expand through her beauty, wisdom, and intuition. WHY is it important for us to awaken these divine energies within us? The feminine receives us with self-love and appreciation. She allows us to be more in tune with the cyclic nature of earth and our bodies. We feel more connected to ourselves, our loved ones, and our community. We TRUST. We openly receive the blessings that life has to offer us – which can be abundance, creativity, intuition, and/or a feeling of harmony and wholeness. The masculine fills us with self-confidence. He helps us realize emotional balance and objectivity. He connects us to our supportive, protective inner warrior. We more easily set strong boundaries and assert ourselves with mindfulness. We experience mental clarity, self-discipline, and a strong sense of will power. We feel present, grounded, and courageous enough to follow our purpose and act out our dreams.   How can we heal the wounded feminine within us? We can start by FEELing and expressing our emotions without trying to limit or control them (no judgment-zone) We can commit to self-love and acceptance  Other ways; connect with the internal wisdom of our physical bodies through yoga, meditation, breathwork Tap into our inner gifts, intuition, and wisdom Speak authentically from the heart/reveal your desires Create a ritual and/or sacred space  Go out in nature and just BE rather than do Be creative, dance, express through your body – to me it's anything that feels like you're bringing the unseen to life without restrictions or boundaries. The true feminine loves to be wild, untamed, and free How can we heal the wounded masculine within us? We can start by being present and active – so this looks like making plans, setting goals, and doing the actual work to turn our dreams into reality Acknowledge, process, and understand your emotions rather than suppressing them Be the mindful leader, initiator, and giver in our life and close relationships Deconstruct societal conditioning about what it means to be a man Connect with your inner warrior  Use body language to prep your subconscious first thing in the morning – stand straight and tall, arms back and shoulders down Commit and be decisive Rewrite your father narrative/story and be a father to yourself – a source of independence, courage, logic, and deep presence The best thing is when we heal these energies within us, we can better connect to others and we start to emit a higher frequency of energy. So if we're in our feminine, others may see us as very magnetic and alluring, this goddess/queen energy. If we're in our masculine, others may see us as supportive, it's like a king energy (but a confident giving king, not a king who was in his wounded masculine like Henry the 8th) In short, how do we best tap in and ALLOW these divine energies to guide us through our life experience? Embody self-love and presence.   Finding alignment in our relationships/love/sex The conscious masculine will help guide the feminine back to her heart with his grounded leadership and presence. She will feel his depth, his breath, and how he is fully in the moment with her. This makes her feel safe to open and express. The conscious masculine in general is unafraid to look weak or vulnerable because he is secure in himself. He is emotionally available (which means he's integrated his heart and mind), and he is consistent and supportive. He makes the feminine feel seen, heard, and safe to open to him.  The conscious feminine is receptive, which allows the masculine to See his limits and blockages more clearly. The feminine is an amplifier and beautifier of energy – this includes not only what is given to her and what is in her environment, but what is already within her partner.     068: Tapping Into Trust & Surrender

    “Before I can trust where my soul is leading me, I must first listen to my own truth (my inner voice) reminding me who I am.” This saying encapsulates why we so often find it difficult to trust in the unknown. To know our self, is to trust our self, and when we know our selves, we know that where our soul is leading us is always in the “right” direction. We cannot do life “wrong”, instead, there are infinite paths in which we can choose to take. Every decision leads us down a different path, all for our growth and expansion – in my opinion, there ARE higher paths and thus higher timelines. These higher paths lead us to more joy and fulfillment. The very belief that there are higher paths for you to choose, opens up more of these higher paths. Along each path there are different lessons, challenges, highs and lows. It all boils down to trust, and your subconscious patterns and beliefs. So this brings us back to how do we go about *trusting* in the unknown, how do we trust that it's all working out in our favor? This is a very feminine-based way of being. To trust is to flow like water, our feminine side (which everyone, regardless of gender can tap into) is our soul's expression of love. It is inviting, receptive, wise, and thrives on collaboration and connection. While our masculine side loves to feel in control – our society in recent years has been VERY wounded masculine. Now we are seeing the feminine more at play here – with the surge of creativity and SHARING and collaborations that started happening due to the entire world being in quarantine. We had to get creative in order to SEE the alternate perspectives of what was happening, we had to BE more open-minded, we had to release the rigidity of things we once thought were set in stone and permanent - all to stay sane. And those who weren't ready to release and flow, had the worst experience.  The feminine and masculine help to balance and heal each other – so with this we experienced the feminine energy flowing in to help heal the wounded masculine, and now we are experiencing healed masculine traits such as so many of us stepping into our purpose in life, seeking freedom, and GROWING through challenges. So a playful way to trust in the unknown, is to tap into our feminine energy through creativity and expression.  An example of us doing this would be choosing to look at challenges in our life as if our higher self set them up for us to learn from. When we grow through this challenge, we unlock the next level of ourselves, one that is truer and more in alignment with our true self. Approaching it from this perspective helps us to see it as more of an adventure, rather than an inconvenience. It instills some lightness into it (which is what feminine energy is ALL about), and allows us to alchemize any heavy fear so we can lean into trust. This is a more playful way to look at it, and when we realize we are all co-creators of this “game of life”, we realize we're the creators AND the players of the game, therefore all of the answers (and secret codes) lie within us all. As far as knowing whether or not we are following our “higher” path, we can rely on our heart and intuition to show us the way. It ultimately all circles back to trusting ourselves (our inner world) so we can then trust the universe and our perceived outer world. All of our power lies in truth – false power is untruth, it is rooted in fear. True power is rooted in authenticity and courage. So when we ARE dismissing our intuitive nudges – aka we are being pulled to an experience or to learn something new about ourself, or to heal – but we resist, instead of us flowing merrily down the stream like in the “row row row your boat song”, life will feel more like an angry ocean pulling us down into the dark and cold depths. When this happens, let go. When we're afraid and choose to feel safe from external comfort, we will turn solely to logic. When we're afraid and choose truth, courage and to trust within, we will turn to intuition. Logic is what we can perceive of with our 5 senses, it is KNOWN, concrete, and more masculine. Intuition is the flow, the feminine, the UNKNOWN. The cosmic web is greater than what we can perceive of with our inner/outer eyes, so when we trust in the divine plan, there is immense power in this surrender.     067: The 3 Treasures of Taoism

    The three treasures of Taoism The Taoist sages that set foundations for Traditional Chinese medicine discovered that a human is composed of three main energies, Jing, Qi, and Shen. These energies are referred to as the three treasures, and an analogy to help us understand would be a candle… Jing (essence) the foundation. The wax and wick of the candle Qi/Chi (energy/breath) The burning flame of the candle Shen (spirit) The light produced by the burning flame   A little more into each concept   Jing, the essence or primal energy of life. It is our deepest source of energy in the body and basically our life force reserve. It is commonly associated with longevity, youthfulness, regeneration, genetics, mental energy, the power behind our courage and will. This energy is stored throughout the body, especially in primary organs like the heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and mainly the kidneys where it stores energy for the whole body and moves through our meridians to supply this energy.  Jing energy is depleted by extremes - so chronic cases of stress, excessive behavior, and overwork. It is the final energy that the body uses in a day, the last resort when our Chi or Shen energies are used up. Our Chi energy is meant to be used for our daily needs – it is replenished through breath, food, and resting. The thing is our Chi and Shen energies don't have a “cap”, but our Jing energy does – when it's depleted (the wax and wick in the candle are gone), there is no more life.  What are the indicators that our Jing energy is being depleted? Chronic exhaustion, dark circles under the eyes, backaches, weak kidneys and digestion, dry and wrinkled skin   How can our Jing energy be cultivated?  consuming a nourishing whole food diet breathing deeply to fill yourself with life force energy Yin yoga, meditation, or other mindful activities that help us gather energy Earthing, sungazing, connecting to and taking in the natural energy that is flowing through mother earth Rest, slow down, set boundaries and be okay with refilling your cup before giving to others.     066: Signs, Synchronicities, and Spirit Animals

    There's a quote by Carl Jung, who coined the term synchronicity that explains this phenomenon, “Synchronicity reveals the meaningful connection between the subjective and objective world.” Psychology aside, this can be interpreted as the seen world (external reality/ what we interpret with our 5 senses) and the unseen world (our inner world/consciousness/spirituality). Synchronicity, signs, spirit animals, and other messages from the universe can manifest in infinite ways. When we experience these signs, we can generally take it as an indicator of being tuned into the flow state of the universe. We're on the right path, keep going. And sometimes angel numbers and other synchronicities can serve as helpful guidance for us as we progress through our life journey. Especially if we are feeling confused about what to do or where to go next. The thing with synchronicities is as many as there are that exist, there exists different ways to interpret them. If we type in 1111 for example into a search engine, we can read that this means our spirit guides are close by, pay attention to your thoughts and what you're consciously manifesting, remember yourself, make a wish and take action, and more. The best practice if you're first becoming aware of synchronicities is to read many different interpretations of them, and when you see the sign, whatever comes to mind first is what it means for you.     What is breathwork? Breathwork is the healing process of deep rhythmic breathing, that moves us into the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) and out of the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight). It involves bringing conscious awareness to our breath, our source of prana or life force energy. Our breath carries us through life; it is the beginning, the in-between, and the ending of life. It is said that how we breathe is how we live. In order to move through life fully, mindfully, and consciously, it is beneficial to practice breathing in these ways; fully, mindfully, and consciously. We can start small - by bringing our attention to our breath now, it has the ability to catapult us back into the present moment. What can breathwork do for you physically? Reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and boost immune system and energy levels –> by activating our parasympathetic nervous system, deep breathing reduces our heart rate and blood pressure, creating an inner feeling of calmness. There is more oxygen intake in the blood through our breath which increases the energy output to our cells that control everything from our energy levels to our immune system functions Improve sleep due to decreased stress and anxiety, resulting in a quieter mind and a more soundful sleep Reduce pain and toxins in the body -> reconnects us with our bodies rather than our knee-jerk response to distance ourselves when we are feeling pain. By reconnecting, we reconnect with our bodies natural healing response. We reduce cortisol (the stress hormone), and release endorphins and other feel good chemicals which reduces our sensitivity to pain when we are taking in deep breaths. Breathe deep into your belly the entire time  It helps to put your left hand on your heart and right hand on the belly, and focus on moving the right hand up with each inhalation Repeat the breathing until the timer runs out You can eventually increase your intervals, breathe through the mouth instead of the nose which intensifies the experience, breath into the belly and then the upper diaphragm in one swift breath, etc. There are many ways to experience breathwork, find the way that resonates best with where you are in this moment.     064: Chit Chat - Overcoming Poverty Mindset

    Money is just energy. We create space for it to flow into our lives when we clear the unnecessary clutter around us. The clutter can be energetic – perhaps limiting thoughts, beliefs, emotions surrounding money, or even physical – are we honoring things associated with money (bills, receipts, gold, our wallet/purse) or treating them poorly? Are we organized or disorganized with our money? The way we are with money is directly tied to our self-worth. In the way that when we increase our self-worth, when we adorn our inner temple, we begin to See what we believe will reinforce our worthiness in our outer world. The phrase inner world outer world applies here. If we believe we are worthy of abundance – we will begin to see it flowing into our lives. Another way to declutter is through forgiveness. Forgiveness clears energetic debris and allows heaviness to release from our heart space, so that we can move forward with more clarity, presence, and gratitude. Since what we focus on grows, we can also think of what it would feel like if we had more than enough money. What emotions would come up if you suddenly had an extra 5,000 deposited in your bank account? Some of us would be skeptical, but beyond that, what would you feel? Elated, free, joyful? How would it feel if you were to save the money versus spend it all? Really exploring your feelings here will help you bring your beliefs, emotions, and current thoughts about money to the surface. Once you do this, if needed, you can choose to adopt new beliefs, thoughts, and emotions about money that serve you in a better way. If we're only feeling positive and higher emotions about money, we can amplify those in order to be a vibrational match for money.  Same for being grateful for what we have – it amplifies and expands in our life. We love the magic of gratitude and what it can do in our lives, and especially our finances. If we have an unappreciation for ourselves and our life, we will see that reflected in our outer reality- we will experience less miracles and magic. For example, if someone gifts you something you love and you don't say thank you, they're going to be less compelled to gift you again, versus you being appreciative of their gift, and thankful that they were thinking of you. In this metaphor, the gift giver is the Universe, God, whatever you resonate with. Acknowledge your blessings and you will see more flow to you. Same with self-worth – when we completely reject a compliment we make it awkward for the compliment-er, because we are combating what they believe to be true  with our own insecurities. Lastly, set an intention catered to your specific situation. Playing on the random $5,000 deposit in your bank account example, we can think about what we'd do with the extra money beyond the feelings, thoughts, and emotions it would evoke in us. What actions would we take – would we save half and spend the rest on a trip? Pay off bills? Getting clear and intentional will allow the Universe to continue conspiring on your behalf to bring abundance to you.     063: Ancestral Healing

    When we enter this life, our souls bear the burden of our ancestors. Burden means not only their empowered aspects and blessings, but their unhealed trauma and wounds. Being that our ancestors are other versions of us, it is up to our current selves to heal and transmute the pain and suffering that remains unresolved in our lineage. If we choose not to heal what we can, it remains and will be passed down for our future generations to heal. This can be framed as more of a neutral thing – when we do not heal, those lessons that remain in our lineage will attract new and old souls coming here to experience them. However, keeping this in mind, if we learnt/are learning difficult lessons in this life, it is wise to do what we can in order to lessen the harshness for our future generations to come. The reason being is that healing will help us build a more sustainable, mindful world, and move humanity into more of a “golden” age with less suffering. So now that we have kind of touched on this, why is ancestral healing so important in the self-healing journey? When I asked this question, the dragonfly came to mind. The dragonfly is characterized by the elements air and water – our mind and emotions. It represents breaking free of old paradigms and illusions that hold back the progression of our soul. It asks us to tap into transformation and our pure potential.  The dragonfly brings a new awareness and fresh perspective to life, revealing a path of freedom. So much like the dragonfly, ancestral healing helps us move forward on our soul’s path, releasing the heaviness in our mind and emotions that may prevent us from experiencing the magic of life and the present moment. Ancestral healing is healing the issues that are not only affecting the individual, but the entire family lineage and generations to come. Our ancestors ARE US. When we do ancestral healing, we are healing our foundations, the beginnings of our incarnations and our being. Our physical body is built from inherited genetic structures – we incarnate again and again into the consciousness of our physical bodies which hold records of our entire experience of life, all the way back to our 1st incarnation on earth. Our ancestral intelligence fears the unknown more than anything else. It perceives 180 transformations as deaths of the trajectory of “surviving”, which the ego knows how to do so well. It is our physical body versus our etheric body, our lower chakras versus our upper chakras. There is a conflict between our soul and body or ancestral intelligence. What exactly does this conflict mean? There are energetic imprints, “lesser” and “higher” ones. Conflict manifests as lesser or denser imprints – aka destructive behaviors and self-sabotage, family “themes” such as low confidence or sexual shame, themes of abandonment or grief. Detrimental patterns that repeat throughout the family – such as issues making and keeping money. Feeling like you have plateaued in your life and feel restless or like there’s something more, but can’t pinpoint exactly what it is, or what you even truly want. All of this can be an ancestral energetic imprint that has passed down from generation to generation. So just as studies in Epigenetics have told us that the majority of illnesses that run in the family can avoided by healthy habits, lifestyle and environmental changes; these energetic imprints can be healed by the same regard, including healing our mindset and releasing repressed emotions, for example. --- Because these old family wounds can influence us in many ways – from our thoughts to emotions to beliefs, we may ignorant to our patterns because they are what we perceive of as normal to us – especially if they have been in our family for generations. From here, we can ask ourselves the following questions: In what way are we being – where is our energy going – what are we choosing to create from our current paradigm? It is important to remember that we also take on the learned lessons and power of our ancestors – so not only the limiting patterns. We take on the empowerment and blessings our ancestors left us.   So how exactly do we do we go about ancestral healing? What is the first step? Knowing our truth is the first step, and perhaps the most healing of all – this is our individual medicine, so it looks different to everyone. This can look like us getting extremely clear and truthful about the type of person we are, what our strengths/weaknesses are, what we like/dislike about our families, societal conditioning and structure we may adhere to, and knowing the direction we were headed if we hadn’t awakened, versus the direction we’re heading now. This can be a great journaling practice after meditation. You can sit down to meditate with the intention to reconnect with authenticity, and afterwards free write about what you feel your truth is. The next question we can ask ourselves, is how are we going to tap into the power of our ancestors and use what we’ve learned and healed from to guide us in living out our personal truth?     You are exactly where you need to be in this moment, nothing more, nothing less. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Enjoy the journey  When we are fully experiencing (not trying to fight or escape) the growth process – we are inevitably in the present moment, where; ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ >> ego is integrated with the higher self/soul >> we release attachments to our linear perception of time (past + future) >> inauthentic masks can be disintegrated because we feel safe again >> we allow healthy expression of emotions without lower vibrations holding us back ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Our ego is desire-driven, our soul is expansion-driven. Soul growth can be recognized in our egoic desires, or soul requests. It’s acceptance of present self and fully BEing in this experience that will help us grow in a way that raises the consciousness of the planet.   Soul requests If there is something we desire, whether it be material or nonmaterial, at the very core it is a soul request. It is more empowering for the soul and less blaming of the ego to reframe it this way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A soul request encourages specific growth that comes from the journey of obtaining your desire. The ego and soul work together; we can release the “battle” between them now. Your ego is still part of you. You cannot fully integrate anything that you reject or blame. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Your higher self is constantly trying to steer you in the best direction via these lessons and higher feelings (joy, peace, love, etc.) which align us with our truth. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Being in acceptance (also a higher vibration) rather than resistance allows us to heal conditioning, trauma, and other aspects of our past when we set intentions for it. In layers, this healing unveils the mask we wore throughout our lives in order to feel safe.  

    060: Attachment & How To Release It

    There’s a quote by the Buddha that says attachment is the root of all suffering. In this episode, we’ll dissect what this really means, the benefits of this practice, and how you can incorporate it into your daily life.  What exactly is non-attachment? When we hear this phrase we can think of treating life as a meditation. In meditation, we become observers. Observers of our thoughts, emotions, and whatever else may come into our mind’s eye while we sit there. As we meditate more, we find ourselves incorporating this mindfulness in our daily lives. Becoming observers and responders rather than reactors. Being like water, and flowing With life rather than against it. We allow life to unfold as it may without being attached to certain outcomes, opinions, beliefs, and feelings. Loosening our grip on our internal and external environments. What are the benefits to this practice? Inner peace and balance, and grounded-ness – less scattered and neurotic. because we’re more in the present moment rather than focusing on our thoughts  More curiosity, open-mindedness, and a sense of adventure – less fear and rigidness Less anxiety and tension because you won’t be attached to outcomes More resilience, freedom, and clearer vision More unconditional love and compassion for self and others – you will not be attaching any “should” to others, giving yourself (and them) the freedom to be true to self More flow – more alignment – more synchronicity   How do we step into the energy of non-attachment? Simply put, we release judgment and resistance. Without forcing, and more flow, we gently take on a neutral stance to life. The first step to getting to this place is to begin paying attention to your daily thoughts. Observe. What is occupying your mind? What thoughts are you using as an escape from the present moment?   Typically, our attachments manifest in 3 different ways. Material, personal, and intrusive or obsessive thoughts. After observing our thoughts for a day, We can ask ourselves the questions: What material possessions are we attached to? What kinds of personal attachment are coming up? What thoughts about ourselves and our life experience are we attached to?   Another way to easily find our attachments is by observing what we base our happiness on, and how difficult it would be for us to release said thing.  Would we find no will to live if we lost our material items, a person, or a certain belief we have about ourselves, like “I can never change this about myself”, or “my life should be this way”   The next way to step into this non-attachment energy that is within us all, is to release our identity that belongs to material possessions, other people, and/or thoughts, beliefs, etc. Establish an identity in expansion and open-mindedness. Knowing that without change, life ceases to exist. This where one of my favorite phrases, “The unknown is home” comes into play again. To make the unknown home is an art of allowing, surrendering, accepting, trusting and flowing with life.  And the last step to inviting this beautiful energy in? Daily meditation of course. Even just 5 minutes daily makes the world of difference.
