Oilers trade rumours and Baggedmilk's Olympic triviaIt's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers at the Olympics, Team Canada's line combinations, a potential trade idea for Andrew Mangiapane, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the L.A. Dodgers and how the odds for them to win the NL West in the MLB are so heavily skewed that it almost doesn't make sense to bet on. That led to a similar conversation about whether Canada vs. USA is a lock to meet in the men's finals, and whether being the two best teams in the tournament on paper means this will be the matchup. Changing gears, we looked at the line combinations for Team Canada on the men's side. Given that Team Canada is pretty close to icing an all-star team, it was fun to hear the boys' thoughts on who will be playing where. They also looked at the advanced betting lines ahead of Thursday's game against Czechia and how everyone thinks the team will fare despite the different style of hockey played in international tournaments. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. With none of the other boys coming up with anything new, the guys went back to old faithful with a round of Olympics-related Baggedmilk Trivia questions. Ask Dubey is back for episode 32!Before diving into your Oilers questions, Dubey reacts to the wild Stadium Series matchup between the Lightning and Bruins — including an old-school goalie fight at center ice between Jeremy Swayman and Andrei Vasilevskiy. A rare sight, even rarer that both goalies stayed in the game. Dubey breaks down why moments like that fire everyone up, and why goalie fights are still such a tricky situation in today's NHL.From there, it's straight into your questions. Who's really to blame in a blowout — the goalie or the team in front of him? Can players mentally drift with the Olympics right around the corner? And of course, the big one Oilers fans are debating right now: did Edmonton make a mistake trading for Tristan Jarry?Dubey gives a calm, honest breakdown of the Oilers' goaltending situation, why the Skinner change needed to happen, and why fans shouldn't be riding the emotional roller coaster on a game-to-game basis. Perspective, context, and goalie logic — all in one episode.Drop your questions for future episodes using #AskDubey in the comments or on any OilersNation social platform.0:00 – Stadium Series chaos & goalie fight reaction2:40 – Who's really responsible for blowout losses?5:23 – Do players mentally check out before the Olympics?7:55 – Did the Oilers make a mistake trading for Jarry?12:01 – Final thoughts & how to submit your questionsDrop your questions for future episodes using #AskDubey or leave them in the comments below

Given how successful the defence was under Coffey's tenure, the boys on the podcast all believe it would make perfect sense to bring him back and see if he can work magic again.Shifting gears, the guys looked at the Oilers' horrible finish before the break and how incredibly frustrating it was to watch them finally land their first three-game win streak of the season, only to give those games right back immediately. That led the boys to wonder if there are more coaching issues than just what's happening on defence. We also discussed the losses to Toronto and Calgary and how frustrating both results were, given Edmonton's opportunity to pick up points against struggling teams. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. While he played only 7:43 in TOI, Samanski was noticeable in his first game in the bigs, and the boys spent a few minutes talking about how he didn't look out of place. Given that they've lost twice as many home games as they've won, it's hard not to think that Edmonton is dropping the ball on a golden opportunity to make up some ground in the standings. Shifting gears, the guys looked at last night's loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins and wondered how much of that loss the boys hung on Tristan Jarry, given that he allowed six goals on the night. While no one is saying Jarry was very good, the reality is that the skaters in front of him were just as bad, if not worse. Given that carrying three goaltenders is less than ideal, the organization will eventually have to make a decision. Given how well Ingram has played since being recalled, it seems completely unlikely that Connor Ingram will be the one to go, but it's clear that the organization still respects what Calvin Pickard has done in his time here. Shifting gears, the guys looked at last night's loss to the New York Islanders, and Ilya Sorokin absolutely robbed them of two points by standing on his head. Whether it's giving these guys a defined role or keeping them as healthy scratches, the boys tried their best to figure out a problem the coaches have struggled with all season. It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' Tuesday's matchup vs. the Flames, Connor Ingram's first win of the season, Baggedmilk's Trivia, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about what has been the most surprising storyline of the NHL season so far. Whether it's the lack of success in Edmonton for Andrew Mangiapane or Trent Frederic for the Oilers, the Leafs struggling as mightily as they are, or how a team like the Ducks are fighting well above their weight class, there are plenty of stories to choose from. Changing gears, we looked at the latest injury updates from the Oilers. Given that Edmonton hasn't had a single game with a full, healthy lineup, the boys discussed the latest round of updates and whether the team will ever be able to ice a full roster. The guys also spent a few minutes talking about Trent Frederic being healthy scratched, and also what he needs to do to get back in the team's good graces. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia, including some Oilers vs. Flames-specific questions ahead of Tuesday's Battle of Alberta. If you've heard any of the previous editions of BM's trivia, you'll know that Baggedmilk has been way off on some of the questions, which keeps Liam in the role of trivia marshal and auditor. Given the magnitude of Friday's trade and the fact that the two teams are playing so quickly, it's easy to understand why the media and fans are so interested, even if we're only talking about a regular season game in mid-December. Changing gears, we looked at Tristan Jarry's Oilers debut against the Maple Leafs and how he was more than adequate despite arriving with the team just over 24 hours earlier. We also walked through some of Stuart Skinner's quotes from this morning after practice, and how it definitely seems like a trade was needed for both sides. Not to be left out, the fellas also spent a few minutes giving Brett Kulak his flowers after being a fantastic Oiler for the four years he was here. Given that the Oilers traded both Stuart Skinner and Brett Kulak to acquire Tristan Jarry before sending a 3rd round pick to Nashville to land Spencer Stastney, it's fair to wonder whether this was an upgrade or a lateral move.Shifting gears, the guys continued their trade analysis by breaking down Stan Bowman's post-trade quotes and whether making a change for the sake of change is the right move. While it's true that Tristan Jarry's numbers are better than Stuart Skinner's this season, that doesn't mean there aren't risks, like injury history, ebbs and flows, and wondering how these guys will perform on their new teams. The guys also spent some time looking at Thursday's win over the Detroit Red Wings and how it was a fantastic win after what was a disappointing outing against the Sabres on Tuesday. It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' inability to close games, Connor McDavid's 1100th NHL point, Evan Bouchard's struggles, and much more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate over what has caused the Oilers' inconsistencies through the first 14 games of the year. Whether it's a lack of killer instinct, the inability to put in a full 60 minutes, or a lack of physicality, it's incredibly frustrating that a team this talented struggles to live up to the level everyone expects of them. Regardless of what frustrates you, there are plenty of issues happening with the Oilers right now that are completely fixable. Changing gears, we kept the breakdown going of Tuesday's loss against the St. Louis Blues. Starting with the defence making life more difficult than it needs to be with their lack of physicality in front of the net. Are the Oilers' defenders too soft when players are in their goalie's face? Changing gears, we looked at Jack Roslovic starting to settle into his role in the top-six, which prompted a conversation about whether the Oilers should look at an extension. Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia, including some Oilers vs. Utah-specific questions ahead of tonight's game. If you listened to the last two weeks, you'll know that BM was way off on one of the questions, which prompted Liam to take on the role of trivia marshal and auditor. Did Baggedmilk get his questions right? You'll have to listen to find out for sure.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!Powered by @bet365. Whatever the moment, it's Never Ordinary at bet365. It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers losing three of four, some recent milestones on the roster, David Tomasek's first NHL goal, line combos, and much more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Evan Bouchard's rough night against New York, and whether anyone is worried about what was a miserable evening for No. 2. While there's no doubt that Bouchard didn't play well against the Rangers, being too concerned about him this early in the year probably doesn't make sense either. That said, he definitely needs to play better given the minutes he commands, and it will be interesting to see if he faces any supplementary discipline like Darnell Nurse did a couple nights before. Continuing with the breakdown of the last few games for Edmonton, the Oilers blew a two-goal lead against the Rangers on Thursday, which was incredibly disappointing and frustrating given how they had dominated the game early. In the span of just under four minutes, the Oilers went from being up by two goals to being in a tie game. Even with a late power play opportunity, the boys couldn't get the job done. To make matters worse, the comeback didn't happen because the Rangers were shooting the lights out, the loss happened because the Oilers cannot stop making 10-bell mistakes. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week. With the 2025-26 season well underway, the guys spent the bulk of the Friday episode discussing a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that's what happens at this stage of a new campaign.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!Powered by @bet365. It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' back-to-back losses, Connor McDavid's scoring woes, goaltending, and much more. We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate over whether the Oilers have an identity problem. Given how sloppy they've been through the first 10 games, it's fair to wonder why this team cannot figure out how to start a season off on the right foot. Regardless of where you sit with the question, no one on the podcast is particularly concerned, even though the results haven't gone our way. Frustrating? Yes. Worrying? Not yet. Changing gears, we looked back at the two losses from this past weekend and how the same damned mistakes keep preventing any forward progress. The guys also discussed Connor McDavid's only goal this season and dissected his shot totals from previous years, when he was much more active. While no one on the show thinks this trend will continue, the message from everyone's standpoint was that the captain needs to shoot more. He's too good not to be. Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia, including some Oilers vs. Utah-specific questions ahead of tonight's game. It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers two recent wins, some recent milestones on the roster, David Tomasek's first NHL goal, line combos, and much more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether the boys felt the Oilers had the refs on their side as they did last night against Montreal. While there was some debate about the penalties called, no one on the podcast felt the Oilers had an unfair advantage because the Habs couldn't kill penalties. The main point is that Edmonton took advantage of its opportunities, whereas the Canadiens could not.Continuing with the breakdown of these last two wins, we looked at the issues that are preventing the Oilers from running the show, and most of them are self-inflicted. The good news is that the team is still finding ways to win even with these glaring issues standing in their way. That said, being as sloppy as the Oilers have been isn't exactly the smartest strategy unless the goal is to live in the land of mediocrity. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' losing streak, Tuesday's game against the Senators, line combos, and much more. After a few left-hand turns on topics, the boys kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about what to expect from Jake Walman's return to the lineup after missing training camp and the pre-season with a mysterious upper-body injury. Despite not playing yet this season, there's little doubt that Walman is one of the Oilers' best puck-moving defencemen, and having him back in the lineup will surely help.Changing gears, the guys dissected the Oilers' current three-game losing streak and how the lack of production from the big boys is undoubtedly contributing to the results. While the slumps won't last forever, it's hard not to be frustrated about the ways things are going offensively, and how the Oilers haven't yet made the adjustments needed to kick this snake bite. The good news is that there are adjustments to be made that can hopefully make a positive impact. Can they turn things around? Yes. Will it take work and adjustments? Absolutely. Finally, we wrapped up the first episode of the week with another (flawed) round of Baggedmilk's Trivia that had the boys looking ahead at at Tuesday's matchup between the Oilers and Senators. Despite one of the questions being factually incorrect, it was a good time to hear the fellas work through their logic in what was a haphazardly put together bit by Baggedmilk. As it turns out, it's not just the Oilers that are struggling to produce offence right now. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' season opener, Thursday's matchup against the Islanders, line combos, and much more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the start of the Oilers' road trip through the first two games in New York. While the Oilers did beat the Rangers, it wasn't exactly their best performance. When it came to the Islanders, the boys made so many mistakes that it would have almost been a miracle had they been able to pull off the win. The good news is that many of the errors that led to that loss are fixable, and the boys all expect the team to be better going forward.Continuing with the breakdown of Thursday's loss, the boys wanted to give Stuart Skinner some love for his work last night even though the stats would suggest he wasn't as good as he was. Had it not been for Skinner, that loss to the Islanders would have been way worse than it ended up. From there, we offered our first impressions on Jack Roslovic. Even though he's only played two games with Edmonton so far, it's tough to get an accurate read on the player when he's trying to get up to speed after missing training camp and the pre-season.Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' first road trip of the year, Baggedmilk's trivia, season predictions, and much more.Oilers heading out for first road trip of the NHL seasonWe kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about what the Oilers need to do on their first road trip of the season to call it a successful run through the East. Given that the Oilers are supposed to be one of the best teams in the NHL, the guys all had very different ideas of what the Oilers need to do to be considered a success. The tricky part of predicting results on an early road trip like this is that teams are still so sloppy early in the year, creating opportunities for unexpected results. Changing gears, the guys looked back at the Oilers' 3-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks, and how that game was far more lopsided than the score probably suggested. As much as it was frustrating in the moment, it was hard not to be impressed by how well Thatcher Demko played and how he was the only reason this wasn't a blowout. The guys also discussed the $2500 fine issued against Tyler Myers for sticking Connor McDavid in the pills, and how a value like that is meaningless for a player who's made $90 million in his career. We also discussed the new line combinations that are set for Tuesday's matchup vs. the Rangers. Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with another round of season predictions for the 2025-26 NHL season, including some additional goal totals, head-to-heads, and anything else we could think about to build out what we started last week. From team goal predictions to Pacific Division standings to how many starts Stuart Skinner will make this season, the end of the first Tuesday episode of ONR was as fun as it was all over the map. Despite everyone being excited that Big Viking Daddy is sticking around, they did have a healthy conversation about whether the term for someone his age is too long or not. They also discussed the other extensions that have happened around the league this week, and whether Bill Guerin looks at some of those deals and regrets the big ticket for Kirill Kaprizov. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week.
