Running an Airbnb might sound like it's all about fresh sheets and five-star reviews… but sometimes, it feels more like managing a lost property office. In this episode, I take you behind the scenes of what guests really leave behind—from the obvious forgotten items like chargers and clothing… to the less visible (but far more meaningful) things that come with hosting.Because what guests leave behind isn't just “stuff.”It's stories. It's energy. And sometimes, it's a reflection of the experience you've created. What You'll Hear in This Episode: The “Obvious” Things. Lost property: chargers, clothes, toiletries, and even the occasional surprising item. How I handle returning items (and when I don't!) The strange psychology of what guests choose to follow up on… and what they don't . The Leftovers; Half-finished food and drink—and why I have a strict policy on what stays and what goes ; A story that proves why throwing things away is sometimes the safest option The Reality of Rubbish; The truth about waste sorting (and why guests get it wrong more often than you'd think); What you learn from rubbish bags—without it being voyeuristic; Why this is less about curiosity… and more about running a responsible business. Wear & Tear: The Cost of Hosting. Scratches, marks, and everyday damage The mindset shift: frustration vs gratitude. Why “perfect” and “profitable” rarely go hand in hand. The Unexpected Gifts; Some guests don't just take memories—they leave something behind on purpose: Handmade and meaningful gifts from around the world; Practical contributions (from tech setups to home improvements!); A home filled with reminders of the people who've passed through it The Invisible Things Guests Leave Behind. This is where it gets deeper…Memories of shared meals, conversations, and experiences; The atmosphere guests create—and leave behind; How hosting becomes more than just a transaction As I reflect on over a decade of hosting and thousands of guest nights, it's clear: You're not just hosting people—you're hosting moments.Superhost Secret“Treat everything a guest leaves behind as communication—not inconvenience.” Every forgotten item, every bit of damage, every note or gift tells you something: Forgotten belongings → they felt at home; Hidden damage → they felt uncomfortable or unsure; Honest communication → they felt safe; Gifts and messages → they felt genuinely cared for. When you see these moments as feedback, you can: Create a more open, trusting environment; Encourage better communication; Build stronger guest relationships; Ultimately earn better reviews and repeat bookings Key Takeaway: If you create a space where guests feel safe and welcome…They won't just leave behind belongings, They'll leave behind trust, gratitude, and a piece of themselves.Want to Start Your Own Hosting Journey? If you're thinking about turning your home into an income stream, check out the link in the show notes to register for my upcoming webinar. I'll walk you through exactly how to get started.Connect with Me; Follow for more tips, stories, and behind-the-scenes moments:Final Thought: For every forgotten charger… There's a guest who felt at home enough to forget it. This week's stories: *Bartonella Hides in Cat Scratches — and It Might Be Why You Feel Like Garbage A stealth bacterial infection transmitted by everyday cat scratches and flea dirt has been quietly linked to chronic fatigue, brain fog, and neurological symptoms for decades. Dave breaks down how Bartonella slips past standard testing, why it's almost never on a conventional doctor's radar, and the specific PCR protocol you need to actually find it. Sources: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ *High Tyrosine Levels May Be Cutting Years Off Men's Lives A Mendelian randomization study of 270,000 UK Biobank participants found that elevated tyrosine is causally linked to nearly a full year of lost lifespan in men — with zero effect in women. The culprit appears to be an inflammatory oxidation pathway that men metabolize very differently. Dave examines what this means for every guy stacking L-tyrosine nootropics or eating high-protein keto. Sources: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41045493/ https://www.aging-us.com/news-room/high-tyrosine-levels-linked-to-shorter-lifespan-in-men https://www.usnews.com/news/health-news/articles/2026-02-27/study-suggests-one-common-amino-acid-may-affect-how-long-men-live *Blue Light Blocking Contact Lenses Are a Legitimate Vision Upgrade ALTIUS Vision's tinted contact lenses aren't just blue light filters — they cut chromatic aberration by 53% and improve motion tracking and contrast sensitivity in ways that software filters simply can't replicate. Dave covers the mechanism, who benefits most (screen workers, TBI recovery, gamers), and how to find a provider. Sources: https://altiusvision.com/chromatic-aberration/ https://altiusvision.com/science-of-altius/ https://www.westvalleyvision.com/-altius--performance-tinted-contact-lenses *Taurine Plus B Vitamins Actually Moves the Needle on Motivation A randomized crossover trial found that a daily stack of taurine, B6, folate, and B12 sustained effort-reward motivation and cut cognitive lapses significantly compared to placebo — and the mechanism runs through glutathione production in brain astrocytes. Dave breaks down why this combo works when either ingredient alone doesn't. Sources: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41889717/ https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/nutrition/articles/10.3389/fnut.2026.1711478/full https://www.nutraingredients.com/Article/2026/03/23/taurine-and-b-vitamins-bost-motivation-and-focus/ *30 Seconds of Smelling Flowers Resets Your Nervous System Research out of the Monell Chemical Senses Center confirms what your grandmother knew: a slow, deep floral inhale measurably lowers heart rate and activates the parasympathetic nervous system — and it works because olfaction bypasses the cortex entirely and hits the limbic system directly. Dave makes the case for building a daily scent ritual. Sources: https://time.com/ https://www.southtabor.com/healthy-living-tip-stop-and-smell-the-flowers/ This episode is designed for biohackers, longevity seekers, and high-performance listeners who want mechanism-level clarity on infection-driven cognitive decline, amino acid optimization, sensory performance, and evidence-based supplementation. Host Dave Asprey connects emerging clinical research, Mendelian randomization data, and real-world protocols into actionable frameworks for extending healthspan and sharpening performance. It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' disastrous wrap to their pre-Olympic schedule, Leon Draisaitl's coaching comments, line combos, and more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Paul Coffey rumours after some rumblings came over the last handful of days that the Oilers could be considering bringing the Hall of Famer back behind the bench. Given how successful the defence was under Coffey's tenure, the boys on the podcast all believe it would make perfect sense to bring him back and see if he can work magic again.Shifting gears, the guys looked at the Oilers' horrible finish before the break and how incredibly frustrating it was to watch them finally land their first three-game win streak of the season, only to give those games right back immediately. That led the boys to wonder if there are more coaching issues than just what's happening on defence. We also discussed the losses to Toronto and Calgary and how frustrating both results were, given Edmonton's opportunity to pick up points against struggling teams. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the 2025-26 season past the midway points, the guys spent the bulk of the podcast moving through a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that's the way things go on the Friday episode of ONR.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!

On a warm-for-February day in Minnesota, Brad dives into two topics shaping today's dairy landscape: changing dairy herd demographics in the Upper Midwest and new research on dairy cow preferences for grooming brushes. The episode opens with a look at dairy farm numbers in Minnesota, where the state has lost nearly 37% of its dairy farms since 2019—dropping from 2,567 to just 1,622 operations. Brad breaks down herd size distribution, showing Minnesota remains dominated by small herds (especially 50–100 cows), even as the number of very large herds continues to grow. He also highlights where dairy farms are concentrated geographically, with Stearns County leading the state, and notes that seven Minnesota counties now have no dairy farms at all.Brad then compares Minnesota to Wisconsin, which still has over 5,100 licensed dairy farms. Wisconsin's dairy industry includes a notable number of goat dairies (nearly 400) and a small but interesting presence of sheep dairies. He walks through the top dairy counties in Wisconsin, illustrating how dairy production clusters in central, southwestern, and Green Bay–adjacent regions. In the second half of the episode, Brad discusses a new Purdue University study examining dairy cow preferences for grooming brushes. Researchers compared three brush types—swinging and rotating, swinging only, and stationary—and found that more than 75% of cows preferred the swinging, rotating brush. Cows spent several minutes grooming their heads, backs, and rumps, with rotating brushes offering the most engagement and relaxation. While stationary brushes were used mainly for head scratching, the study suggests that offering a variety of brush types may give cows valuable choice and enrichment.Brad wraps up by reflecting on what these trends mean for dairy farm viability, animal welfare, and management decisions—leaving listeners with practical insights and plenty to think about.Questions, comments, scathing rebuttals? -> themoosroom@umn.edu or call 612-624-3610 and leave us a message!Linkedin -> The Moos RoomTwitter -> @UMNmoosroom and @UMNFarmSafetyFacebook -> @UMNDairyYouTube -> UMN Beef and Dairy and UMN Farm Safety and HealthInstagram -> @UMNWCROCDairyExtension WebsiteAgriAmerica Podcast Directory

The family didn't expect anything unusual when a mother moved into an older house in Indiana with help from her adult children. The timing felt right—a new place, a new chapter, and a newborn grandchild just three months old.But almost immediately, the house reacted in ways no one could explain. The baby became inconsolable near certain parts of the property, crying only when brought close to the porch or the house itself. Scratches appeared where they shouldn't have. At first, it was easy to dismiss—new parent nerves, coincidence, exhaustion. Then other family members began noticing things too. A teenage son described something unnatural moving through the house in the early morning light. The kitchen window refused to stay closed, no matter how often it was secured. And the atmosphere inside the home felt charged, heavy, as if something unseen was learning its way around the space. What began as unease slowly grew into something harder to ignore—something that made it clear the house was not empty, and never had been.#RealGhostStoriesOnline #ParanormalPodcast #TrueGhostStories #HauntedHouse #ListenerStory #ShadowEntity #UnexplainedPhenomena #FamilyHaunting #ParanormalEncounter #GhostStoryLove real ghost stories? It's been another wild week around here with the Oilers rollercoaster making another loop, and I've got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready to recap it all. On today's podcast, I talked about Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' 500th assist, more Andrew Mangiapane trade rumours, healthy scratches, Connor McDavid's heater, and much more.I kicked off this week's episode with a look at Ryan Nugent-Hopkins reaching the 500 assist mark in Tuesday's game against the Nashville Predators. Nuge isn't the flashiest player on the roster with Connor and Leon ahead of him, but that didn't stop me from gushing about my guy for a few minutes as he inches closer to 1000 NHL games. I also looked at Kasperi Kapanen's comeback and how quickly he made an impact. From there, I had to touch on the frustration many of us felt yesterday when we saw that both Andrew Mangiapane and Trent Frederic were healthy scratches against the Preds. And the worst part? It didn't look like it mattered. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a guest Righteous Sack Beating, then closed out the podcast with another round of voicemails. The voicemail was alive this week, and everyone's takes were all over the map and very fun for me to listen to. The voicemail is the best way to wrap up the show and give everyone a chance to share their thoughts. Another hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to this week's episode. Having all of you in the mix makes the show so much better.Want to leave a voicemail for next week's show? Do it here!

It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' struggling bottom six, Kasperi Kapanen's return, Trent Frederic and Andrew Mangiapane being healthy scratched, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about what the Oilers can do to get more production out of their bottom six. Given that players like Mangiapane, Frederic, and Henrique haven't scored nearly as much as we'd hope, the question was how the team can get more out of them without just trading someone away. Whether it's giving these guys a defined role or keeping them as healthy scratches, the boys tried their best to figure out a problem the coaches have struggled with all season. Changing gears, we looked at Kasperi Kapanen's return to the lineup and how having him back in the mix gives Kris Knoblauch more line combo options to play with. Given that Kapanen has missed the bulk of the season, it's going to be interesting to see how long he lasts beside Leon Draisaitl, since it's probably going to take a minute for him to get going. The guys also spent some time looking at Andrew Mangiapane and Trent Frederic as healthy scratches and what the decision means for both players moving forward. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with a round of Dan's Game. Seeing as the boys are trying to keep things fresh, Dan wanted to whip something up for the boys to give the first show of the week a little bit of a different flavour. We can't have the quizmaster on call all the time, you know? Did Dan's game work? Will it replace BM's Trivia? You'll have to listen to find out for sure.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!Powered by @bet365. Some hauntings cling to old mansions, forgotten cemeteries, or places soaked in tragedy. But what happens when the spirit finds you instead? For Phil and his family, every move was supposed to be a new beginning — new homes, new walls, clean slates. Yet something… came with them. It started as small things: scratches appearing overnight, a bed that trembled in the dark, a voice no one could trace. Then came the boy. Crying. Angry. Demanding. Each time, the same question: “Where is it?” From Northern California to San Diego, the family tried everything — blessings, prayers, even fire. But some things can't be left behind, because they were never tied to a place in the first place. Maybe it wasn't the houses that were haunted. Maybe it was the family. Or maybe… it was whatever waited on the other side of a child's dream. #RealGhostStories #HauntedHouse #ParanormalActivity #HauntedObject #TrueHaunting #GhostStory #Dreamcatcher #Poltergeist #DarkEntity #ParanormalPodcast #CreepyEncounters Love real ghost stories? Have you ever wondered why your dog takes such a long time to sniff a patch of grass? Or why flies buzz around so sporadically? Join me for a fun conversation with Ed about the astonishing ways animals sense the world around us. From birds that navigate the open ocean by smell, to penguins that sense vibrations underground. After a family funeral, he reconnected with a young cousin who claimed something dark had followed her for years. Scratches appeared overnight. Voices whispered through walls. He tried to reason it away — until the haunting followed him. It began with a voice on the baby monitor — soft, steady, speaking his name. Toys moved on their own. The air froze in seconds. Then his wife felt the bed sink beside her, as if a small body had climbed in… but no one was there. When he looked in the dark reflection of the TV, a figure stood behind him — human-shaped, silent, watching. Research led him to one word repeated again and again: Incubus. A presence that feeds on fear, binding itself to families, passing between bloodlines. The more he denied it, the closer it came. What began as coincidence became a shared haunting — two relatives marked by something they never invited, something that didn't need belief to exist. This is not just another ghost story. This isn't just another haunted house story. This is a true ghost story spanning nearly a decade — a chilling account of one family's life inside homes that seemed determined to prove the dead don't always stay silent. It began on Christmas night, 1951, when a four-year-old boy in Renton, Washington, saw something impossible: a being of fire crawling out of the family's pot-bellied stove. With glowing red eyes and a body made of flame, the entity danced across the living room before vanishing. That night ignited a lifetime of encounters. In 1956, the family moved to Inglewood, California, into a Spanish-style house that quickly revealed itself to be alive with activity. Scratches under the bed, deliberate knocks in the walls, footsteps that shuffled across hardwood floors at midnight, and doors that opened themselves became nightly terrors. The family cat hissed at empty corners, objects hurled themselves across rooms, and walnuts appeared in strange, deliberate piles. The most terrifying moment came when two brothers saw her: an old woman in a white lace wedding dress, standing in a shed behind the house. Later, her trunk was opened — and inside was the very dress they had seen. She had died in the home years earlier. By 1959, the haunting grew darker: faces pressed against windows, heavy breathing figures smothered children in their sleep, and even fire consumed their garage. The family eventually fled, but the memories — and the questions — lingered. Was it a poltergeist, a restless spirit, or something older still? This real haunting from the 1950s proves that some houses don't just creak with age — they remember. #TrueGhostStory #RealHaunting #HauntedHouse #Poltergeist #GhostEncounter #CreepyStory #WeddingDressGhost #ParanormalActivity #ShadowFigures #HauntedHistory #1950sHaunting #GhostStories Love real ghost stories? Her neighbor Tom was the kind of man you always saw on his porch radio, smoking after work. When he was found dead by the river, Lena thought it was over. Instead, it triggered weeks of terrifying activity that forced her to sell her home cheap. First came country music playing through his darkened house. Then the smell of pipe tobacco filling Lena's bedroom at 2 a.m. Then the knocks — always three, always at the back door. A security camera cut to black each time. Scratches appeared on doors, black smudges near her bed, and footprints in the mud that led to her porch and stopped. Friends witnessed it too: a basement door slamming, footsteps climbing stairs, dreams of a faceless man by the river pointing at her chest. The final horror — every living room window fogged from the inside, with three streaks drawn on the glass. Was it Tom? Or something darker? One thing's certain: this true haunted house story proves sometimes the dead don't leave quietly. #TrueStory #HauntedHouse #RealHaunting #GhostStory #Ghosts #Paranormal #ThreeKnocks #HauntedHome #ParanormalActivity #GhostlyEncounters #CreepyStories #EVP Love real ghost stories? In this episode, James Maude sits down with Kevin E. Green, Chief Security Strategist at BeyondTrust, whose 25+ year career stretches from configuring Nokia firewalls in basements to shaping federal research initiatives. Kevin recalls how crashing systems during penetration tests at Ernst & Young was once considered a win - a “capture the flag” moment - and how he crossed paths with future industry leaders like Stuart McClure and George Kurtz, who went on to found Cylance. He shares his pivotal work in mapping NIST 800-53 controls to the MITRE ATT&CK framework, transforming static security catalogs into threat-informed heat maps that show which defenses light up against real-world attacks. Blending technical depth with cultural insight, Kevin also draws unexpected parallels between cybersecurity and hip-hop — from how attacker techniques echo rapper “signatures” to why his alter ego "Kevtorious" and his "Secure Coding by Nature" brand reflect the creativity and pattern recognition needed in both fields.

From a young age, a listener from Bangladesh began seeing a man cloaked in traditional Islamic attire—bearded, calm, and saintly. But what seemed spiritual quickly took a terrifying turn. After losing two siblings to ALS, the visits became more intense. Scratches at the windows. Grunts in the night. Nightmares are worse than horror movies. And when his fiancée began seeing the same entity—without ever being told—it became clear: this was no ordinary haunting. With guidance from religious scholars and repeated warnings about a bloodline curse, he now believes an ancient demon is stalking him and his family. And it may never leave. The U‑District House, near the University of Washington, should have been a charming Craftsman—until ceilings caved in, basement lights flickered, and a shadow man tormented every woman who stayed. Scratches appeared, furniture flew across rooms, and guests fled in terror. Despite years of renovations, the house's dark past refused to stay buried. A call to a spiritual healer seemed to end the terror—but did it truly move the entity on, or did it simply retreat, waiting for its next victim? Tonight, we unlock the secrets of the U‑District House, exploring the dark history that still lingers.  If you have a real ghost story or supernatural event to report, please write into our show at http://www.realghoststoriesonline.com/ or call 1-855-853-4802!
