L.E.A.P: Listen, Engage, Allow and Process on Your Healing Journey
Welcome to Rock Your Shine: After you've been cracked wide open. On this show, I sit down with people from all over the world to hear their transformational stories on their deep grief and loss journeys. Depression does not discriminate, as seen in the life of Bill Daly; growing up with a supportive family, sailing through high school academically, and having aspirations to play college soccer. Despite this seemingly perfect life, Bill spiraled into a deep depression at 18, marking a dark phase of his life. It gave him a newfound passion to help others suffering from mental health issues and spurred him on his path to finding peace within himself. This blog post explores Bill's journey, shedding light on how he transformed his suffering into strength, offering inspiration to individuals navigating their way through similar struggles. After high school, deep-seated feelings of being unprepared for college and adulthood led Bill to take a year off to travel with a friend. That's when everything began to fall apart. Despite visiting stunning, awe-inspiring places like the Grand Canyon, he couldn't appreciate or connect with their magnificence or the people around him. It seemed like a dark veil had descended, making him feel exceedingly anxious, fearful, and detached from his environment. With persistent sadness consuming him, Bill found himself losing weight, experiencing drastic mood swings, and being withdrawn. To cope, he sought help from psychiatry, which sparked a series of trials with various antidepressants. Yearning for relief, he even acquiesced to electric shock therapy but to no avail. His search for relief led him on various spiritual quests, inclusive of yoga, meditation, and vision quests. Nevertheless, the underlying problem persisted. After 25 long, grueling years of hardship and struggle, his father's passing marked a turning point. Upon losing his father, he reached the height of despair, contemplating ending his own life. However, this intense pain ultimately sparked the most profound transformation. He started to find signs of hope in the little things around him, such as the song of a bird he lovingly named Rose. From that point forward, Bill began redirecting his focus from the crippling pain of his depression to finding peace and radical acceptance. He sought solace in daily meditation and used flotation therapy to soothe his mind. More importantly, he worked on building a relationship with his heart and soul, which incredibly transformed his life. In a remarkable transition, he found love for himself and was able to love others deeply in return. He began to welcome his feelings of ‘good and bad' without resistance, judgment or avoidance, giving him the freedom to feel, understand, and accept them. His journey led him to the realization that mere acceptance could be liberating, and through his continued self-love practices, he discovered an inner peace he'd never believed possible. Today, Bill utilizes his learned wisdom from years of battling his condition to aid others in their mental health journey. Being a shining beacon of resilience, he strives to be a compassionate listener, creating a judgment-free space for individuals to share their struggles. His experiences have taught him the transformative power of sharing his story and inviting vulnerability from others. **TRIGGER WARNING** This episode covers sensitive subject matter and is not suitable for all listeners. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is set to meet with Saudi Arabia's foreign minister to address growing concerns that the brutal conflict in Israel could spread across the Middle East. The U.S. has been prioritizing efforts to ensure Iran stands down — carrying out two 'self-defense' air strikes in response to several attacks on U.S. bases and personnel carried out by Iran-backed militia groups in recent weeks. On the Rundown, former U.S. National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley shares his response to how the Biden administration is working to avoid escalation in Israel, Hamas' ability to launch a surprise attack without intelligence agencies' knowledge, and his disappointment regarding the 'unacceptable' antisemitic movements that have sparked across the globe following the crisis in Israel, including here in the U.S. Last Wednesday, 40-year-old Robert Card shot and killed 18 people in Lewiston, Maine. A few months earlier, he had allegedly made threats to an army base and spent two weeks in an inpatient facility. The tragedy has sparked a conversation about whether or not the shooting could have been prevented. Dozens of states across the country have red flag laws that prevent individuals who show signs of being a threat to themselves or others from owning a firearm. Maine has a similar law, but law enforcement must be notified of the threat before putting the individual in protective custody. Former FBI investigator and international security expert Bill Daly joins the podcast to break down the differences between the two laws and discuss what may have slipped through the cracks. Plus, commentary by Jimmy Failla, host of “Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla.” Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Foreign policy has been a hot topic this election cycle but now is even more important following the Hamas attacks in Israel. Republican candidates former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy have sparred over their differing stances on the issue, however as candidates prepare for the third debate next month, they need to revamp their strategies to remain relevant in the race. Republican strategist Colin Reed joins to discuss why former President Donald Trump's foreign policy may help him get re-elected, why voters are leaning away from President Joe Biden, and why Nikki Haley may find herself in second place in the polls very soon. Following the events in Israel, some Americans are now concerned about what this means for national security at home. Currently, there is no credible threat pointing toward the United States. However, as pro-Palestine protests pop up around the country, cities are making sure their law enforcement remains hypervigilant. Former FBI Investigator and International Security Expert, Bill Daly joins to discuss the events in Israel, cyber threats from Vietnam, and people on the terror watch list coming through the Southern border. Happy Wednesday! Hunter and Pat are back for another episode of the podcast as the two start out with whether Sidney Crosby will hit 100 points this season or not. They look at what he did this past season and how he stayed relatively healthy, though he finished with 93 points. How can he get 7 extra points for this season? The two look at how Erik Karlsson will be a big factor in getting him to 100 and how Jake Guentzel could also be a big factor if he's able to play at a higher level once he comes back from his injury. They also discuss his production on the PP and at 5v5, before moving on to which player in the bottom six will score the most goals this season. Hunter gives his answer (it's a newcomer) while Pat goes with someone a bit on the younger side. Finally, they end the show with some international hockey talk as Bill Daly and the league look set on firing up some best-on-best events for the first time in nearly a decade.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!BirddogsGo to birddogs.com/LOCKEDONNHL or enter promo code LOCKEDONNHL for a free white tech hat with any order.
