Listeners of Tailer Trash Fly Fishing that love the show mention:The Tailer Trash Fly Fishing podcast is a must-listen for any fly fishing enthusiast. I recently started listening and quickly realized that I needed to start from the beginning in order to fully appreciate the journey these guys have been on. It's been over a month and I'm still on last year's shows, but I can't stop binge listening. The hosts truly understand the sport and bring a refreshing perspective to their discussions.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is its genuine and unstructured format. It feels like you're sitting around the table with a group of friends, sharing stories and laughs. The hosts cover a wide range of topics within the fly fishing community, from shoreline restoration to skiff building, ensuring that there is always something new and interesting to learn.
Another great aspect is the balance between serious discussions and lighthearted banter. While they tackle important issues such as conservation and saving the fishery in their backyard (Mosquito Lagoon), they also have trademark "rabbit hole" conversations that will have you laughing hysterically. The personalities on this podcast create the perfect balance, making it enjoyable for both seasoned anglers and newcomers alike.
However, one downside of this podcast is that it may not appeal to everyone. If you prefer more structured or gear-focused discussions, then this may not be the podcast for you. The hosts stay true to themselves and their interests, which means that sometimes the conversation can veer off into unexpected directions.
In conclusion, The Tailer Trash Fly Fishing podcast is a gem in the world of fly fishing podcasts. It brings together a group of genuine individuals who are passionate about both fly fishing and life in general. Their unfiltered approach creates an engaging atmosphere that keeps listeners hooked from episode to episode. Whether you're looking for insights into the sport or just some good laughs, this podcast delivers it all.

Join us at The Fly Box in Bristol Tennessee as Jamieson and Larry record a session with Jonathan and Forrest Neyman on a Thursday evening around closing time. Corey J. Smith opens us up with his cover of Colby Acuff's fly fishing guide anthem "Dying Breed" before we dive right into the discussion. From the news of the day, an emergency on the South Holston River where a drift boat flipped, to the issues that are affecting East Tennessee tailwaters, the conversations were heartfelt and passionate. Many of the anglers and guides that were in attendance for the show joined us to give their perspective and opinions on the varied topics we cover. By the end of the episode the consensus of everyone in the room was clear, we all need to spend more time enjoying each other's company, forming friendships and associations that will build a stronger unified voice for the fisheries we love and cherish. Positivity and camaraderie need to be the priority and The Fly Box is the perfect place to find it. We hope you enjoy the conversations. Thanks to everyone who came out for a damn fine evening with great people. We look forward to seeing you again on the water or at the watering hole!

A Tailer Trash Fly Fishing Conservation Conversation With Jessy Wayles From One Lagoon Join the cast of Tailer Trash Fly Fishing for a very informative conversation with Jessy Wayles about a myriad of topics related to conservation and restoration work that is being completed in the Indian River Lagoon. Jessy works for One Lagoon, our branch of the National Estuary Program. The organization is a sub-agency funded by The Environmental Protection Agency. Their mission is to coordinate activities related to restoration and conservation efforts in and around the entire Indian River Lagoon. Their jurisdiction spans multiple counties and includes our inland estuary from the Tomoka Basin to the north to Stuart at the south end of the IRL. We learned a lot about the guidelines that are in place for research and the means and methods of how restoration sites are selected and the required monitoring that is part of the grant process. Additionally we discussed tagging programs for horseshoe crabs, sea grass nurseries that recently received funding as well as clam projects that are expanding. We hope you'll listen to the podcast in hopes that you'll better understand activities that you may see that are ongoing in our local waters as well as learn how to be involved in a productive and constructive manner beyond social media. If you have questions for her that were not covered in our chat, feel free to contact her through her email at OneLagoon.com

A unique blend of fly fishing, beer on tap & delicious deli food makes his shop a must see destination along the South Holston River in Bristol, TN. Hear how Jonathan's fly fishing experiences lead him to leave a successful construction business behind and sell everything to move his family and life to the Holston Valley to build a shop from the ground up in hopes of creating the hub for the local fly fishing community in Eastern Tennessee. From his youth in Northern California, life in Kentucky, travels to Montana and falling in love with one of the greatest tailwaters East of the Mississippi, you'll hear how and why he created his unique shop. Grab a cold one, crack it open and have a beer with us as we discuss those things and more.
