Since the first time Man planted a garden or fought a battle, weather has been vital to success and survival. The weather has famously decided wars. In some cases, weather has been the key factor in the rise and fall of whole Empires. Like many other contemporary real experts, today's guest, Jim Lee, is an independent researcher, in this case, into weather modification. Why Weather Matters George Washington avoided surrendering his army in the Battle of Long Island by deceiving the British about his movements and then withdrawing 9,000 men, supplies, and cannons overnight and into the next morning across the East River while a fog miraculously provided cover. If that Providential escape had failed, the War of Independence could have ended. Napoleon attacked Imperial Russia as winter arrived and was soundly defeated by both poor planning and the vicious cold, decimating the French army, which had over 100,000 men captured, 380,000 dead, and only 27,000 returning to France. Decades later, despite France's failure in 1812, Hitler's army tried attacking the Soviet Union during World War II and managed to hang on with brutal tactics until winter arrived and the Germans were soundly defeated. Many of the German survivors who managed to make it back to Germany alive were badly disfigured by frostbite, which had claimed noses, eyelids, fingers, and toes. The Germans also murdered over 1 million civilian Soviet Jews during the invasion. The German army troops captured over 5 million Soviet troops and deliberately starved over 3.3 million Soviet prisoners of war in brutal disregard for the established rules of war. Despite the most savage and determined fighting, the weather heavily influenced the failure of the German assault upon the Soviet Union. Any effective military will invest whatever it can to predict, manage, and manipulate weather systems. More recently, during the Vietnam War, the US seeded clouds over the Ho Chi Min trail in order to mire down enemy North Vietnamese soldiers from moving South. Growing Concern About Abuses of Weather Control in the US Many concerns have arisen that Earth's weather is being manipulated in ways harmful to the citizenry and the economy. The hurricane that hit the Hawaiian Island of Maui and the accompanying firestorm that devastated the town of Lahaina in 2023 with grave loss of life and destruction of the community appeared very suspicious. Hurricane Helene and then Milton chewed up Florida and demolished Southeastern Appalachia communities in North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. Have behaved in unusual ways and produced unusual and shockingly high amounts of damage and loss of life. Many citizens have questioned what aspects of the storms may have been “enhanced” or manipulated. The lack of official assistance being provided to survivors of these devastating events has understandably increased suspicion. The federal government has done nothing to alleviate citizen concerns; instead, it has encouraged censorship through social media. The usual claims of conspiracy theory have been lobbed against anyone raising these questions, but as it turns out, citizens are asking very good questions. Government Censorship The federal government censors and curtails information and public discussion on subjects like weather manipulation. For a good review of the state of government censorship in the world today, listen to the Joe Rogan interview with Mike Benz that aired this month. The federal government funds, coordinates, and gives orders to its own branches and federal agencies and to non-government organizations (NGOs), nonprofits, universities, and others to censor and eliminate free speech. There are literally hundreds of thousands of hired individuals manipulating the truth as hired guns through traditional news outlets, social media, university outlets, book publishers, and scientific journals. Weather Modification, Inc. The absurdity of these government denials was recently highlighted by a photo of a plane on TikTok with a large corporate logo across its fuselage that said, “Weather Modification, International.” The Weather Modification International website was surprisingly empty, but when I checked the web archive for earlier versions, I found that their website started being stripped of data in early 2020. The 2019 archive offered a more robust introduction to the company. Turns out, Weather Modification Inc. has been operating since its founding in 1961 by two farmers/pilots. As of 2019, the company had grown to almost 40 aircraft and 100 personnel. Here is a screenshot of the 2019 “Who We Are” web page. Weather Modification, Incorporated has been in business since 1961. Their current website declares: “When most people look up they see clouds. WE SEE POTENTIAL.” About us: Now, more than ever, the worldwide need for solutions to atmospheric necessities such as water resource management and environmental quality monitoring, is critical. With nearly a half-century of successful programs, our experience speaks for itself. Let us help you better manage your atmospheric and water resources. In the archive, Weather Modification Inc. had a very robust and international list of governmental, military, academic, and private clients. The client list for the United States included the US Department of Defense (DOD), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and its National Hurricane Center, the Naval Surface Warfare Center, several state cloud seeding or weather modification programs, and more. They also have a number of international government clients. Our Guest Today, Jim Lee Despite censorship and other barriers, some intrepid truth-tellers have been collecting and revealing the discovered facts and information concerning both the details of weather manipulation and how it has now been weaponized against U.S. citizens, against all moral and legal limitations. One of these truth-tellers is today's guest, Jim Lee. He has devoted his work to “separating fact from fiction regarding geoengineering, pollution, privacy, and propaganda in an easy-to-understand way.” Jim Lee has been gathering and sharing news regarding weather manipulation since 2012. He has gathered and published a collection of historical evidence and news about weather modification that I believe is unmatched anywhere else. His goals are to “enact changes in laws worldwide to bring transparency and accountability for weather modification and geoengineering experiments.” The interview with Jim Lee makes clear that there is nothing conspiratorial about weather modification except the government's attempts to hide it from the public. His historical Weather Modification History internet collection of thousands of news articles going back more than 100 years is a masterpiece in organization and research. In addition to the screenshots of the media articles, each is linked to the full version of the article, offering an unprecedented review of the history of documented weather management and manipulation. Lee's accompanying climate viewer maps website is his most remarkable feat, inviting visitors to explore weather issues in depth. His maps are gorgeous. Jim Lee has directly addressed what he calls the “pseudoscience, fear-porn, clickbait, and the facts” surrounding Helene and Milton. He concludes that proving federal or any other attempts to modify the hurricanes cannot be done but that seeding with chemicals or mechanical devices is possible but there is no data to prove it in this case. Jim Lee examines in detail on his website why radar or HAARP involvement is impossible, explaining: First of all, HAARP was not on during either of these storms. If you want to learn more about HAARP and the three ionospheric heaters worldwide, check out my page on Space Weather Modification. You can tell when HAARP is on simply by checking HAM radio or WebSDR and tuning into 2.8 to 10 MHz. It was not. That leaves NEXRAD Doppler radar, aka WSR-88D. Can a NEXRAD radar alter a hurricane? NO! Why? It's all about the numbers. NEXRAD can produce a peak of 750,000 watts with an average power of around 1300 watts. Let's compare that to a hurricane: 7,000,000,000,000,000 watts or joules/second. 7 quadrillion watts vs 750,000 watts. You do the math. There is a great deal of old-fashioned weather modifications through seeding and chemtrails (pollution in the sky whether as a byproduct of exhaust or deliberately produced) that have resulted in changing conditions for some of our most fertile and fruitful farmlands turning them from abundant crop producers to wastelands. That alone–the loss of millions of acres of cropland—and the bounty they produce, is alarming enough to warrant our direct attention. Were the recent hurricanes manipulated by seeding clouds in some way? Lee says, “There isn't evidence.” There are disagreements within the freedom network about this point, but Lee says he and colleagues looked for any airplane traffic, but there was none. So, unless there were undiscovered spy planes with their identifying transponders turned off, there was no manipulation. There is confirmation of weather modification and manipulation that has now clearly been directed at our own United States citizens and their productivity. Our guest, Jim Lee, tells us about how these practices are used by governments, federal and sometimes state, as well as by private industries. Reasons for manipulating weather vary and include efforts to increase or decrease rainfall and water tables through snow melt and to encourage greater amounts of snow for ski season. Managing rainfall to perfect the growing and harvesting of crops is also attempted. One of the most serious aspects of climate manipulation is the tolerance shown and lack of measurement of nanoparticles that are spewed into the upper atmosphere by global air traffic. Listen to us today as we learn so much more about how heavily and capriciously our weather is manipulated, the risks this presents, and what we can do to protect ourselves and our world. Jim Lee and his marvelous websites can all be found at Connect with ClimateViewer and Weather Modification History. Readers can also connect to Jim through his Substack: The Climate Viewer Report. ______ Learn more about Dr. Peter Breggin's work: https://breggin.com/ See more from Dr. Breggin's long history of being a reformer in psychiatry: https://breggin.com/Psychiatry-as-an-Instrument-of-Social-and-Political-Control Psychiatric Drug Withdrawal, the how-to manual @ https://breggin.com/a-guide-for-prescribers-therapists-patients-and-their-families/ Get a copy of Dr. Breggin's latest book: WHO ARE THE “THEY” - THESE GLOBAL PREDATORS? There are two tragedies in America that have continued to receive far too little attention, and both continue to be in the shadows. They differ greatly, but they confirm the extent to which America has become a satellite of predatory globalism under its progressive government with nearly lifeless stand-ins like Joe and Kamala. One is the concocted “insurrection” of January 6, 2021. Here is how Google takes us directly to a Wikipedia explanation that still blames President Trump for an event that was wholly orchestrated by the progressive governance: “On January 6, 2021, the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., was attacked by a mob of supporters of then President Donald Trump in an attempted self-coup d'état, two months after his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.” For a brief time, I was a consultant to one of these victims, called insurrectionists, who sent me interior Capitol surveillance footage of three police officers opening the external doors for a group of MAGAs as peaceful as everyday visitors. After one of the three cops took a phone message, he gestured for the other two officers to open the doors wide for all the “insurrectionists” to enter the Capitol building. They came in like mild-mannered tourists, many of them easily identifiable, including my potential legal client; passed through an open area, where a second security camera showed the police pleasantly escorting them through a second set of doors and up a stairway deeper into the Capitol. Even this victim's own court-appointed lawyer would not allow the use of the videos as a defense against trespassing, and all communication with my potential legal client was quickly broken. Hundreds of innocent people now remain locked up, railroaded by a hostile government and a hostile D.C. court system with the purpose of destroying the MAGA movement and Donald Trump and frightening the whole world with a supposed insurrection in America whose only violence was probably from paid rioters dressed more like Antifa than like MAGA. The second tragedy is much more recent, even more widespread, but perpetrated by the same globalist motivation of destroying Conservative America. It's the government response to Hurricane Helene's crushing blow against parts of North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida. As if pinpointed for destruction, Helene attacked those states' rural and mountain populations, mostly representing MAGA and conservative people. Thousands of people had their homes, businesses, schools, and churches swept away by torrential rivers and buried by massive landslides or crushed by falling trees. Two citizen journalists have responded with deep empathy to this destruction of lives and communities. One is the cohost of our show, Ginger Ross Breggin. The other is physician Margaret Ferrante, a trained anesthesiologist and intensivist, who drew the wrath of savage California officials for insisting on telling the truth to her patients during Covid and providing good treatment to thousands of patients. Her heroic story is, in itself, worth listening to, but she too has become a resource for people concerned about the handling of the aftermath of Helene. Both Ginger Breggin and Margaret Ferrante emphasize the almost complete absence of state and federal responses in Tennessee and North Carolina, with few of the expected responders showing up from FEMA, the military, the National Guard, or even the Red Cross. Instead, hundreds, perhaps thousands, of volunteers have shown up, some trekking in and some descending like angels in helicopters. It's not a single mountain that was damaged. There are over 30 communities scattered through the Appalachian range in Western North Carolina alone, isolated and hard to reach with a single mountain road connecting the towns to the outside world. Eastern Tennessee was similarly scarred. In the absence of federal, state, and Red Cross assistance, a veritable army of citizen volunteers have descended upon those communities, often connecting ahead of time with local volunteers who have taken on the responsibility of coordinating donations, assistance, fielding calls for help, and more. The most urgent present need is to get secure housing for the hundreds of families and individuals who were made homeless when their homes were demolished by the hurricane. These people are still living in tents, sheds, and other completely uninsulated structures as winter is descending in the mountains and temperatures are falling below freezing. Margaret Ferrante is helping on-the-ground nonprofit organizations and churches in coordinating the ongoing rescue of Americans literally left out in the cold by our federal and state administrations. She has traveled to the region once and will probably be returning. Dr. Margaret's Substack: The Rebel Patient. While taking a much-needed break from the demanding world of Hospice Care, I stumbled upon the inspiring works of John Burke, bestselling author of "Imagine Heaven" and "Imagine the God of Heaven." This serendipitous discovery provided a fresh perspective and renewed hope during a time of deep reflection. In this heartfelt episode, we express gratitude for the overwhelming community support extended to hospices in Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, and Virginia, following the devastation of Hurricane Helene. John shares his deeply personal journey with hospice care during his mother's battle with Alzheimer's and his father-in-law's struggle with brain cancer, highlighting the critical support these facilities offer during end-of-life journeys.Prepare to have your understanding of consciousness and the afterlife challenged as John Burke and I discuss the intriguing phenomena of near-death experiences (NDEs). We explore compelling personal accounts, such as that of Mary in London, whose experience of observing her surroundings while clinically dead offers potential evidence of consciousness beyond physical existence. We also touch on the perspectives of medical professionals like Dr. Pim Van Lommel, who provide insights that question traditional brain-based explanations. These stories, along with scholarly research, present a compelling case for rethinking our perceptions of life, death, and consciousness. Finally, we turn our focus to the spiritual dimensions of NDEs, drawing connections with biblical texts and exploring overarching themes of love and interconnectedness. By examining the Apostle Paul's potential near-death experience and the moving testimonies of individuals like Santosh and Vicki, we discover the transformative power of viewing life through a broader lens. As we conclude, we emphasize the universal importance of love, faith, and hope, encouraging listeners to seek a deeper understanding and live purposefully, making a positive impact in their communities.GuestJohn Burke, New York Times bestselling author of Imagine Heaven and Imagine the God of Heaven HostChris Comeaux, President & CEO of Teleioshttps://www.teleioscn.org/tcntalkspodcast/imagine-heaven-with-john-burkeTeleios Collaborative Network / https://www.teleioscn.org/tcntalkspodcast
They called it the ‘End of the Line'. For over a century, Brushy Mountain prison held some of the most violent murderers, rapists and serial killers in the country. If you wore out your welcome at another prison or your crime was among the most unspeakable committed, this was where you ended up. And once you walked through the doors, almost no one walked out. Located in the remote hills of Eastern Tennessee, the prison was closed in 2009. But the ghosts of the brutality that was committed there still remain. Today, the grounds hold the world's first (legal) prison whisky distillery, and without a doubt the scariest and most ingeniously located. Because after touring the prison, there's only one thing you need: a large shot of their specialty – ‘End of the Line Moonshine'. This immersive episode, recorded on location in the prison itself, will take you from the cell blocks, where conditions were said to be worse than a Siberian labor camp, to the mines where prisoners were literally worked to death, and finally into ‘The Hole' where inmates were kept in solitary confinement, in complete darkness, in a cell 4-ft wide and 8-ft long. “You think you can handle it,” one former inmate said. “Think again, son. Everyone breaks.” FIND OUT MORE: This scene was taken from a trip we did following the Tennessee Whisky Trail. If you like music and whisky, we highly recommend it tnwhiskytrail.com. ***NOT A PRO-SETH EPISODE*** [disclaimer below] About this episode: Dive into the wild, chaotic whirlpool of New Age spirituality, ancient god theories, and some seriously puzzling readings! On Episode 114 of the Black Cat Report, we unravel the mysteries and absurdities surrounding Jane Roberts' "Seth Speaks" and its profound (read: verbose and repetitive) impact on the New Age movement. Gil and Joey, joined by Kristen from the Paranorm Girl Podcast, take you on a hilarious, skeptic-fueled journey through bizarre theories and tantalizing tangents. Ever wondered if ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics had punctuation marks or if communicating with the dead could become your nightly routine? We cover that—and more—while dissecting Seth's ramblings and tackling the enigmatic essence of the soul. Context takes a back seat as we discuss quirky life philosophies and marvel at how a book that sold millions managed to leave us more confused than enlightened. Enjoy a comedic exploration of maniacal New Age beliefs, with Joey contemplating tattoos and Gil fantasizing about being a trickster god. Hear Kristen share why she's drawn to manifesting while still keeping a skeptical edge. So, whether you're in it for the laughs or the philosophical deep dives, Episode 114 is one roller-coaster you won't want to miss. Trust us, when we say we've got stuff in the works, it'll be worth the ride! Welcome to Episode #160 of Way of the Bible podcast. This is our eighth of eight episodes in our Twentieth mini-series entitled, Sermon on the Mount. On today's episode we'll be taking a walk on the beach with DrZ, hey that's me, sorry, couldn't help that it was just there. As I was saying, we'll be taking a walk on the beach to overview and comment on what we've learned on this mini-series.So glad so many of you were able to join us today given the reality of two hurricanes impacting the Gulf shores of Florida. First was Hurricane Helene which roared onshore n the Big Bend area of FL last week as a Cat 4 hurricane before quickly crossing into Georgia, South Carolina, Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee leaving in its wake catastrophic devastation. And a week later, Milton making landfall as a Cat 3 hurricane on Siesta Key near Sarasota, Fl before slicing a path across Florida and heading out over the Atlantic Ocean. The beaches along the emerald coast along Highway 30-A between Destin and Panama City were spared this round. But all those who have been around for forty or more hurricane seasons sense and are fairly resigned to the reality that it is only a matter of time before a storm comes knocking on your door. But enough of that for now, while the coast to our east and south have been ravaged by wind and waves, the Gulf waters out back are almost perfect. Still a little warmer than normal as are our daily temperatures. While we won't break a sweat this morning, you can still get sun burned pretty quick, so hats, sunscreen, and sunglasses suggested.I'll meet you out back in five minutes. Make sure to top off your coffee or get one of many other options available at the bar area. Speaking of bars, we've got the Rooftop bar of Bud and Alley's reserved for a private mid-morning brunch. They're expecting us within the hour so let's hop to it. See you out back.I see we are all here. We'll head toward the water and the lightly breaking surf and take a left, heading East into the early morning sun. As we head that way I'll remind you we've not yet finished overviewing Chapter 5 of Matthew. The first of three chapters (5 to 7) that are referred to as the Sermon on the Mount. We still have at least two and likely three more mini-series before we complete the Sermon on the Mount. That means at least two or three walks on the beach after this one. Perhaps for one of those walks we can take a road trip over to the Big Bend area to lend a hand with recovery and do the same on another walk on Siesta Key. Participation is not mandatory, but if you have the inkling to go and would like to help let me know as there is a lot of preparation and staging to be done to make our trips beneficial and not an inconvenience for those most in need of assistance in these areas. We are not at the water's edge and ready to make our turn to the East. As you go through the text of Matthew, you get the sense Jesus made a similar turn at his baptism by John the Baptist. His turn was from a life in Nazareth which we know little about to a focused three-year life of ministry teaching, calling and training disciples. During this time, he taught with authority, was a miracle healing extravaganza, and demonstrated with signs and wonders power over the created order that testified to his being the Son of God, the Son of Man.Shortly after his ministry life began he called his first disciples and laid out for them the foundational teaching upon which all his subsequent teaching rested. We call this teaching the Sermon on the Mount. You will discover as you dig into the epistles, the apostles were writing the boots on the ground versions of the principals Jesus was teaching his disciples. These principals deal with living in the kingdom of heaven. Something all believers are doing even today, though not all believers know it.Let's do a quick recap of where we've been so far in t

Now, if you've never been to a Waffle House in the South, it is delicious for breakfast, or pretty much any time. It's open 24 hours a day, Joel. You can always go in and get some coffee and some eggs and some waffles. Joel Saxum: The best time for a Waffle House is 2 a. m., because it is Allen Hall: But the weather forecasters at the Waffle House appear to have an inside knowledge of where these storms are going because everybody's paying attention to if the Waffle House is closed, that means get out of town, or if it's open, then maybe it's not going to be so bad. So instead of listening to the National Weather Service or your local weather agency, weather person were relying on the Waffle House to determine the fate of hurricanes now. Joel Saxum: Allen, it's a little why I made a reaction when you did this is I actually have a LinkedIn post that I put together about the hashtag WH index the Waffle House index that is, was coined by a FEMA director back in 2004. And what it was is he was down in Florida surveying and I can't remember what hurricane that was, but surveying a hurricane damage and the only place he could find that was open was Waffle House. So he, then he separated into three things. It's green for Waffle House is all a go, yellow for Waffle House has a limited menu, and red for Waffle House is shut down. And if all the Waffle Houses look red around you, you better evacuate. Allen Hall: It's a good rule of thumb. And I know people in Western North Carolina. Eastern Tennessee and now sort of central Florida are really going to have a bad go of it. And yeah, serious stuff, everybody pay attention, keep your head down, get out of the bad weather. Welcome to the Uptime Wind Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Allen Hall, and I'll be joined by my Uptime co hosts after these news headlines. In a major development for European offshore wind, Total Energies has agreed to acquire a 50 percent stake in two large scale offshore wind projects from RWE in Germany. The combined capacity of these projects is a staggering 4 gigawatts. Located northwest of the German island of Borkum, investment decisions are expected by 2027 and 2028, with full commissioning planned for 2031 and 32. The partnership not only strengthens TotalEnergy's presence in the German electricity market, but also significantly contributes to the country's efforts to decarbonize its energy sector. Across the Atlantic, Canada has passed groundbreaking legislation opening up its east coast to offshore wind investments. For Bill C 49 creates a framework for developing offshore wind energy in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador. The bill amends the Accords Act, allowing federal and provincial governments to jointly manage offshore wind resources. As a result, regulatory bodies have been renamed to reflect their expanded role.

Emphasizing compassion and emotional management, they address trauma responses and offer guidance to those affected by the flooding. Alongside personal anecdotes about the challenges faced during natural disasters, they stress the importance of responding over reacting, showing gratitude, and learning from adversities. The episode also highlights the opportunity to adapt and find growth through life's challenges, advocating for emotional responsibility and supporting others, all while promoting the J.U.S.T. Philosophy's teachings.
Here are the three big things to know this hour— Number One— Democrats know they are in very real trouble in this election—and are scrambling to get a huge influx of overseas ballots—which of course are also ripe for fraud for all the same obvious reasons— Number Two— The battle for FEMA to do its job in North Carolina and elsewhere in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene has created a lot of tension—from the Appalachia Mountains all the way to the White House— Number Three— And as the administration in Washington fails to deliver much of anything to those suffering in Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee and North Georgia—a much bigger much more devastating storm is little more than 24 hours of delivering what could be a once in a generation punch to the state of Florida—
Hurricane Helene has left hundreds dead, homeless and millions without power, water, cell phone service, food and more. It's affected the southern United States, particularly in communities in Florida, Georgia, Virginia, South Carolina but especially in Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina.Government agencies responsible for assisting, FEMA, have shown to be incompetent.Remember this when you vote next month. Your government is not going to be there for you when tragedy strikes. It was the local community that began the research and recovery. And we are hearing reports that locals who are donating goods are being told they will be arrested if they do so. YOUR BIRTH, GOD’S WAY - Christian Pregnancy, Natural Birth, Postpartum, Breastfeeding Help
If you are were in the path of Hurricane Helene and you are pregnant nearing delivery, you are probably terrified right now of what's going to happen if you go into labor. Or if you are listening to this sometime in the future, you might find yourself in a place where you can't get the assistance you need for another reason. This episode is a desperate attempt to get information to the moms who need it right now in areas of Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, and parts of South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida who might be in a position that they are facing labor alone, unplanned. There are women who are going to have an unassisted birth at home even though they planned a hospital birth with all the interventions....and that's a scary place to be. I want to help those women. I know many of these places don't have electricity right now or internet/cell service, but some are being restored even though their roads are still washed out. So my plea to anyone listening to this today is that you share this as far and wide as you can so that hopefully this will reach the mamas who need it right now. I'm releasing it early rather than waiting until my usual release date of Tuesday morning to try to get a jump start on it. There will also be a YouTube video with the same information in case that is easier to share. This is my attempt to help anyone I can as I sit helpless in middle Tennessee, unable to go be with these women who are essentially cut off from society. My prayer is this helps at least one mom. I ask you to help me do that. Helpful Links: 3 WAYS TO WORK WITH LORI: --> Sign up HERE for the Your Birth, God's Way Online Christian Childbirth Course! I was hired to find lost Nazi gold. I found Ariella instead.Based on a post by ronde, in 2 parts. Listen to the ► Podcast at Steamy Stories. The shiny, black, Mercedes X-Class pickup slowly worked its way down the road about a hundred meters from where I was crouched behind a rock. The fact the pickup was alone and had an M 60 machine gun on a pintle mount in the bed told me this wasn’t some unit of the Argentine Army. The Argentine Army might have been driving a Mercedes pickup, but it would have been OD green and the machine gun would have been an FN Mag.The woman nudged me then.“They’ll be on top of us in a few minutes. I’ll take out the truck driver and the M 60. That’ll slow them down while they’re trying to figure out where the shots came from. They might run then, but if they don’t it’ll take both of us to take out the rest. Are you ready for that?”I was ready, because I knew if we didn’t take out all of them, we’d be running for our lives. I’d experienced that before. I was a former US Army Ranger with two tours of Afghanistan under my belt before I decided civilian life would be a whole lot healthier.I had no reservations about what we had to do, though it was going to be tough. With it’s short barrel, iron sights, and a tendency to overheat if fired quickly, the HK G 36 C carbine I carried lost accuracy fast after about two hundred meters, so they’d have to be closer than that. I could use the old “spray and pray” technique used by some US Army soldiers before the M4 came out with a selector switch for a three round burst instead of just full-auto fire. The problem with that was I only had a hundred and twenty rounds and they wouldn’t last long if I did that. After that, all I had was a 9 millimeter Browning pistol. They’d have to be a lot closer before I had any chance of putting even one down with that. The woman was in better shape for long range shooting. The Israeli M 89 SR rifle she was crouched behind was accurate out to about a thousand meters if she knew what she was doing, and if she did, the thirty rounds in her magazine would be more than sufficient. She let the truck get to about seventy-five meters from our position and then put one 7.62 millimeter round through the windshield. The driver slumped down in the seat at the same time her second shot hit the M60 just behind the operating handle and effectively froze the action. The truck turned sharply into a rock and then the engine died. The whole thing couldn’t have taken more than about five seconds. The woman definitely knew her way around a rifle. The three guys in the truck bed and the one left in the cab bailed out, got behind the truck, and started looking for the shooter. They were going to have a difficult time finding us. The suppressor on the M89SR effectively hid any muzzle flash and any dust caused by the gasses exiting the barrel. It also reduced the sound enough that it would be difficult for the guys to pinpoint it since the echo from the mountains made the sound seem to come from all directions. The woman and I watched them for the next five minutes, and it became obvious they weren’t battle-trained troops. They were probably considered a serious threat by the local population, but to me they were just amateurs; well-equipped amateurs, but still amateurs. They were well equipped because they had money, and money was the reason I was in Argentina in the first place. Meeting the woman was just a lucky accident. Well, that’s what I thought at the time. I later found out it was no accident. How it all started. The whole thing started six weeks before I found myself with the woman crouched behind a rock and waiting to see what the guys behind the truck were going to do next. After separating myself from the US Army, I needed some way to keep myself indoors and fed. When I looked at what I knew how to do, planning for close combat and then executing that plan was all I could come up with.Given the domestic and political climate at the time, a lot of former military men were running self defense schools. After reading about a few of the schools, I decided I could make some money that way too.I’d been deployed for much of my Army career so most of my Army pay was sitting in my bank. I used half of what I had as a down payment on fifty acres in Eastern Tennessee with a house and barn on it, and built a pistol and rifle range.I was doing OK, teaching a class a couple times a week in basic gun safety and giving the Tennessee concealed-carry class and test. The other days, I taught advanced courses in long-range rifle shooting and rapid-fire pistol shooting. I also sold targets and ammunition. I wasn’t getting rich, but I was able to make the mortgage payments, put food on the table, and keep my fridge stocked with beer. One afternoon after I’d finished up my class on accurate rapid pistol fire, I was policing brass from the range when a guy in a suit and tie walked up and stuck out his hand. He introduced himself as Marcus Richter.“Mr. Dale Stevenson; did I get your name right? Ah, good. Mr. Stevenson, I understand you have somewhat of a unique background, a background I would find useful if you agree to my proposal.”I figured he’d gotten that information from my web site. I thought “US Army Ranger” sounded better than “former military” like some of the school web sites used.I shrugged.“I can teach you how to fire a weapon and how to defend yourself in an emergency if that’s what you mean.”He shook his head.“No, though the thought has crossed my mind. Fortunately, I have people who take care of those duties for me."No, I’m a successful business man in a rather unique business. I trade in world currencies. It is that business that resulted in my visit to your establishment today. I fear the explanation of that business will be quite lengthy, so would it be possible to find a place where we might sit down and out of the sun?”I’d converted part of the barn into a classroom for my classes, so I led the man there. Once we were seated, he cleared his throat.“As I said, I am a trader in world currencies and that includes gold and silver in its many forms, from coinage to bullion. My business is of necessity rather secretive, for were some in the precious metal market to have advanced knowledge of my activities, it would have an impact upon the world pricing of said precious metals. It is such advanced knowledge I hope to exploit to my advantage if you agree to perform a service for me, a service for which you will be very well compensated.”I wasn’t entirely convinced this guy was on the level, but I had no reason to stop listening to him.I smiled.“It sounds like you have some sort of secret mission you want me to do for you.”He smiled.“Yes, secrecy is of the utmost importance. When you hear the details, you will understand why."As you probably know, in the last stages of World War Two, many high-ranking members of the Nazi party and German military realized any favorable outcome to the war was an impossibility. Germany would be defeated and given the atrocities committed, those same people would be prosecuted for war crimes, found guilty, and imprisoned or executed."They began making plans to escape before they were captured by the Allies. Argentina was neutral during the war and indeed declared war on the Axis powers a month before the war in Europe ended, but many in Argentina were still sympathetic toward Germany. As a result, Argentina was viewed as a possible haven by those attempting to escape what would surely be their ultimate fate."Argentina, in fact, encouraged those high-ranking people to come there. It is well known that many were able to successfully leave Germany and take up residence in Argentina. The efforts of some Israeli organizations that were able to locate some of them and transport them back to Israel for trial is a testimony to that fact."What is not well known is how those same people funded their escape and managed to live in Argentina until they were able to find employment. There are suspicions of the transfer of gold either before or after their escape, but no proof. What is known is there were large caches of gold the Nazi’s looted from the countries and people they overran in the early stages of the war."While much of that gold was gold bars plundered from the repositories in Austria, Czechoslovakia, and Poland, a significant amount was in the gold taken from individuals. To date, some of that gold has been recovered, but a sizeable portion has not and there are only rumors as to its location, until about a month ago."Ah, shall we say, a friend of a friend mentioned he had been offered a small bar of gold bullion bearing the imprint of the Heraeus Corporation of Germany. I do not know if you know of this German company, but Heraeus has been in the business of refining and producing precious metals since the late 1800’s when they discovered a method of melting platinum."During World War Two, one small gold smelting facility of the Heraeus corporation located on the outskirts of Hanau, Germany was taken over by the Nazi party, managed by Nazi party members, and slave labor was used for the smelting process. They began melting the gold looted from the countries occupied by the German Army into bullion. The bullion was stamped with the hallmark of the Heraeus corporation in order to make it appear to be legitimate, though the Heraeus company per se had nothing to do with the operation."This knowledge has been common since the war ended, but what happened to the gold bullion produced by the Nazi controlled factory has been unknown until this single bar of bullion was offered to this friend of my friend. The offer was made in somewhat secretive circumstances and the design of the hallmark dated to the period of the Second World War. These two things intrigued this friend of my friend and also intrigued me."My interest was passing until I spoke to a man who wished to buy gold as an investment. He related a tale told by his grandfather of watching U-boats berthed at Helgoland, Germany when he was twelve years old. His grandfather had watched the U-boats before as they were fueled, armed, and then sent back out to sea. On a few occasions, this was not the case."According to his story, over the course of a week, several men in prison uniforms loaded six submarines with wooden cases that appeared much too heavy to be supplies and not large enough to hold munitions. He thought it unusual that they did not load any torpedoes as they always had before, but assumed the submarines were supply submarines used to re-supply U-boats at sea."Once the submarines were loaded, the men in prison uniforms were taken away and a few men in the uniform of the German navy went on board, but not in the same numbers this man had seen before. Instead of a full crew, a number of men in business dress also boarded the submarines. The submarines then left port. Three months later, those same six submarines were again docked in Helgoland and were being once again loaded as before. This cycle was repeated two more times before he witnessed the same submarines being loaded with torpedoes and manned by full crews of the German Navy."Another very interesting event happened in Argentina at the end of the war. Juan Peron was elected president and set about nationalizing industries and services while at the same time raising the wages of workers. Most importantly, he paid off the entire amount of externally held Argentine debt."Because Argentina does mine native gold and silver ore, I have people there to keep me informed about the latest developments. When I heard the stories about the bar of gold bullion and the German submarines and put that story into the context of what I know about the country, I asked my people there to do some research into the matter. The report I received a few weeks ago offered some tantalizing conclusions."At the end of the war, Argentina had external debt amounting to about two hundred million US Dollars. When Peron was elected President, he settled the national debt with payments in gold bullion, which is understandable because gold is the currency of the world. What is not understandable is where Peron was able to find enough gold to do that without bankrupting the country. The entire gold reserves of Argentina at the time were about two hundred and fifty million US dollars. He would have had to drain most of those reserves, but apparently did not. He continued to implement his policies by using that same gold reserve."My people were not able to identify how that situation changed so rapidly once Peron was in office nor the source of the gold with which he paid the Argentine debt. They were able to report that prior to settling that debt, the Argentine government ceased operations of a small, older smelter in the foothills of the Andes near Mendoza to bring that facility up to the level of current technology. They learned this from an old man who had been employed at the smelter in his youth. He said he was sent home and told to not report for work for two months."The man was interested in what changes were going to be made so over the course of seven weeks, he watched the activities at the smelter. He related to my people that the first week, he saw many trucks drive into the smelter and each truck had armed guards who were all tall men who looked European. He could not see what they did in the smelter, but he did notice the smokestack continued to emit smoke just as it had when the smelter was operating."A week before his two month furlough was to end, he witnessed those same trucks with the same armed guards drive out of the smelter and take the road that led to Buenos Aires. He also said when he returned to work, there was little difference from how the smelter had operated before.”I wasn’t sure what all this had to do with me. When I asked, his face became grim.“What I and my people believe is that a very large amount of gold was shipped to Argentina by the Nazis on submarines and used to pay the Argentine government for allowing them to stay there. That is the only explanation for how Peron was able to find the gold to pay off the national debt. It is also an explanation for the unusual loading of the submarine and for the bar of gold bullion offered to, as I said, a friend of a friend. The smelter was shut down in order to melt the Nazi gold and then recast it into bullion that bore the Argentine hallmark.”I was still confused.“OK, that’s all well and good, but again, what does that have to do with me?”He placed his hands on the table between us and smiled.“I want to pay you to find the rest of the Nazi gold.”Now, I was confused again.“The rest? I thought you said they melted it all down and recast it.”He shook his head and chuckled.“I said they melted and recast enough to pay off the Argentine debt, not that they melted and recast all the gold. The total amount of gold plundered by the Nazis is not accurately known, but it has been estimated at nearly two billion US dollars in the currency of the day. About a fourth of that can be reasonably accounted for as it was transferred to various banks in neutral countries, though some of those transfers are disputed. The rest has never been found."It is my estimate that the Nazis shipped at least four hundred tons of gold to Argentina on those submarines. In the currency of the day, that would be about half a billion US dollars. In 1945, the Argentine debt was about two hundred million US dollars. That leaves us with a difference of about three hundred million which would be a little over one and a half billion US dollars at today’s market price.”I said I didn’t think that was feasible because of the weight of gold. It wouldn’t fit on a submarine. He smiled.“Yes, gold is heavy but also very dense and does not require much space. The normal armament for a U-boat of the type loaded at Helgoland was fourteen torpedoes that weighed a little over a ton and a half each. Each submarine could have carried over twenty tons of gold if the torpedoes were not on board. The six submarines making four trips could have carried that much gold and many passengers. With a range of about nine thousand nautical miles, they could easily have made the trip from Germany to Argentina and back in about three months at sea.It sounded like another Nazi conspiracy theory to me, but it was interesting so I decided to play along for a while."So, you want me to find this gold and then what? Hire a bunch of trucks to bring it back to the US?”He smiled and shook his head.“No. I only want you to confirm its location from the information my people have developed after almost a year of research. Near Mendoza in Mendoza province, my people located the ruins of what they described as a replica of The Berghof, Hitler’s residence in Bavaria. The surrounding area is mostly unpopulated now, but was once the site of a now closed led mine. We believe the building was built to house German Army and SS officers who fled Germany and surmise the gold must have been secreted in the led mine. Once you have confirmed the gold is indeed at that location, others will orchestrate its removal and transport. That little bell in your head that tells you something’s not right started to ring."Mr. Richter, if your people know where it is, why don’t those others you talked about confirm the gold is there and then remove it?”He pursed his lips.“My people in Argentina are carefully watched by the Argentine government to detect any financial dealings they might attempt. It is highly likely some in the Argentine government are also aware of their findings. Were my people to investigate that mine, well, the current government of Argentina would consider the gold to be the property of Argentina. It is not, but Argentina would be very upset were they to find it has been discovered and removed from the country.”The little bell in my head was now clanging.“So what you’re asking me to do is illegal? I don’t much like the idea of spending time in an Argentine prison.”He shook his head.“Your involvement will only be to locate and enter an abandoned and unguarded mine, confirm with photographs that the gold is there, and then bring those photographs and an accurate location back to me. It will be as if you were a tourist seeing the countryside and just happened upon the mine during your travels. There is nothing illegal about that."You will be well compensated for your efforts. I am prepared to offer you transportation to and from Argentina, a vehicle and other equipment for your use while there, and the sum of one hundred thousand dollars. I have arranged for twenty thousand dollars to be transferred to your bank account immediately upon your arrival in Argentina and commencement of your search. You will, of course, be provided with a small sum for travel expenses. The balance will be transferred upon your return, assuming you are successful. If not, the transfer will be for an additional twenty thous
Co-Host Chris Teague was confronted with a very difficult task in our lead road test this week. His job was to pilot the 2024 Nissan Z NISMO around the twists and turns of Maine's backroads. Sure, it was a tough assignment, but, as has so often been said, someone had to do it. The 2024 Nissan Z NISMO enhances the iconic sports car with track-ready performance, featuring a 420-horsepower twin-turbo engine, upgraded suspension, and revised aerodynamics. How did Teague enjoy the experience? Did he apply for hazardous-duty pay? He'll have more in his full 6-foot-tall report. When Ford introduced the Bronco Sport small SUV, its executives weren't certain that its buyers were ready for heavy-duty off-road ability. But several years into the program, they are more than ready to believe it. Why? Because their customers asked them for it. As a result, the 2025 Bronco Sport can be equipped with its own Sasquatch package, which mimics the full-on off-road gear available on the full-size Bronco. While that's good news, the even better news is that Host Jack Nerad got a chance to drive a 2025 Bronco Sport with the Sasquatch package on some very challenging terrain in Eastern Tennessee. That's the site of Ford's latest Bronco Off-Roadeo adventure playground. As part of a small group of auto journalists, he got behind the wheel of the 2025 Bronco Sport Sasquatch to see if it could stand up to the rigors of some tough, rock-strewn, water-soaked trails. He'll share his findings in this episode. This week our special guest is Andre Ravinowich, Hyundai's Senior Manager of Product Planning. Jack Nerad spoke with him at length about the exciting changes to the 2025 Hyundai Tucson, one of the brand's most important vehicles, at a recent event in Los Olivos, California. We think you'll enjoy hearing what he has to say. In the news this week, J.D. Power has lowered its electric vehicle sales forecast for this year and next. We'll have the details on what's going on and why EVs aren't selling as well as many so-called experts expected. In a related story, a major global automaker has just abandoned its pledge to be all-electric in 2030. We'll tell you the brand, what they just announced and offer our comments. On a happier note, an important Japanese brand is vowing to increase its North American presence with an onslaught of new vehicles. We'll have the details on that coming up. And there was sadness in the Nerad household as we said goodbye to a vehicle that served our family well for 25 years. We'll have a few words about Clifford coming up in this episode of America on the Road. America on the Road is brought to you by Driving Today.com, Mercury Insurance, and EMLandsea.com , the publisher of Nerad's latest book, Dance in the Dark, which is available HERE on Amazon.com

Like any grilled sandwich, a creamy, dunkable soup makes the perfect complement.
They're called The Redheaded Murders, the brutal killing and dumping of up to 14 women along motorways in the American South more than 30 years. The murders remained a mystery, almost forgotten, until Mr Campbell's students from a small high school in Eastern Tennessee got on the case. They identified a serial killer connected to six of the murders. The work of the high school students is featured in a 10 part podcast called Murder 101. At one point it was the most listened to podcast in New Zealand. We'll talk to Mr Campbell and student sleuth Hannah Metcalfe.

This episode continues the ongoing dachshund series! Madison made the long drive to New Jersey from Eastern Tennessee to join us all while we were recording a lot of the initial episodes for this series. After taking in some of the sights of the surrounding area, she sat down to discuss some of her highs and lows in the worlds of falconry and dachshunds, including discovering falconry as a teenager, and also having to work through losing one of her previous hunting partners. Stick around, there's plenty more of these fun dachshund episodes left to come! Once you turn a property into a profitable, cash flowing asset, it makes sense to keep it indefinitely. If it's built enough value, you can refi out and redeploy the capital into another asset and continue to benefit from the cash flow and appreciation on both assets. This is a repeatable process that builds multigenerational wealth. After years of trial and error, and investing in several valuable mentorship programs, Gino Barbero has built an impressive, long-term multifamily portfolio with his partner Jake Stenziano in Eastern Tennessee. Gino also co-hosts the well-known Jake and Gino Real Estate podcast.
There is a legacy throughout my family of having at least one member who served in all major conflicts back to the Revolutionary War. The other side of that coin is they were all farmers, homesteaders and innovators of their time from Eastern Tennessee and Kentucky. In 2009, my wife and I kept grew our first garden in a community growing space in northern Vermont. There was a moment of clarity and renewed sense of purpose after being recently discharged from the Marine Corps with multiple combat deployments, that encouraged further exploration into food production. Over a decade later, we now manage 10 acres of land and implemented practices deeply rooted in agroforestry, agroecology and whole systems thinking. Wild Roots Community Farm is a diversified operation dedicated to community resilience through food systems education, wilderness survival, and self-rescue. We are a part of the fabric which molds and shapes our landscape, and if we take moments to observe how natural systems function- their patterns, existing wildlife, how weather moves and reacts to topography and micro-climates, etc., we can make decisions that increase our ability to adapt to the internal and external forces of a food system. On the farm we raise pigs, goats and chickens, grow annual vegetables and various tree crops in our pasture that is managed by rotating species. Through service-learning projects with community partners, we have built dedicated wildlife corridors to support native pollinators and songbird habitat. Wild Roots Community Farm is also the host site for a nature based early education program, Wrens Nest Forest Preschool.
