Corey Minor Smith's moved 21 times and attended 14 different schools before graduating high school, and throughout her childhood she was a teenage caretaker to her mother who was living with a severe mental health condition. In spite of these obstacles, she became a successful attorney.” These adverse childhood experiences along with becoming a trained facilitator for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), have paved the way for her mental health advocacy work. Currently, she is appointed to serve as US Senior Counsel for HUD the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It required winning out and several other games to break its way in the final weeks of the season. Miraculously, that happened. So, could it happen again? The team is 9-1 heading into the final two weeks of the regular season, and we'll start the show by discussing the tiebreaker scenarios that the team would need to win in order to secure a spot in Indianapolis. From there, we'll preview Penn State practice on Wednesday night and which players we're expecting to see and monitor at practice. The article leads of: "An appellate judge at the center of one of Miami's biggest criminal cases is facing intense scrutiny after text messages were released showing her pressuring Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle about how to handle the case, denigrating defense attorneys and badmouthing local judges."Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist, Brittany Wallman, who co-authored the article with Charles Rabin for the Herald, joined Robert to discuss the backstory of the capital murder case and the text messages between Judge Bronwyn Miller and State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle. In one text message, Judge Miller suggested to the State Attorney that she move to disqualify the trial judge handling the resentencing of the defendant, Corey Smith, so the trial judge's decision to remove two assistant state attorneys from the case for prosecutorial misconduct could be reconsidered. Recorded: June 5th 2023 | The Boys are finally back from their week off. Will and Taylor recap their weeks away and what all they did with their family. Will compared a Florida town to Italy, which is a wild thought. The Boys are also playing in a celebrity softball game so they preview that game as well. Following the intro, we are joined by country music artist, Brantley Gilbert. The guys get right into how Brantley had an epiphany during a party and decided to change his life. He talks about his road through addiction and what made him realize he wanted to get better. Then they get into how Corey Smith was such a big influence on Brantley because they are both from the same small hometown. He tells a story of how Corey actually saved him from getting kicked out of a bar when he was young and then actually let him perform. Then Brantley talks about some decisions that he would have made differently coming up in the industry as well as some that he would do the same. The boys reflect back on the time when burning CDs was a thing and Brantley tells the story of how he gave a CD to his girlfriend, now wife. Which then sparks the topic of boyfriends since Will, Taylor and Brantley all have daughters. Each of them tried to figure out how they would react to that situation when it arises and Brantley has a hilarious idea to get his point across to that boyfriend.
