Scripture For Today:2 Chronicles 6:38“…and if they turn back to you with all their heart and soul in the land of their captivity where they were taken, and pray toward the land you gave their ancestors, toward the city you have chosen and toward the temple I have built for your Name…”What James Had to Say About Prayer pt 6We have been studying what the Apostle James had to say about prayer. We have been studying the verses from James 5:13-18: “Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any Merry? Let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray on for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it did not rain on the earth by the space of three years and six months! And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain and the earth brought forth her fruit.” Yesterday, I left off with a discussion of weak Christians who feel the need to call everyone in the prayer chain for mild ailments that they should have the Spiritual authority to take care of through praying by themselves! Amen! When you look at verse number 14, James clearly says that if a person is unable to pray for themselves, if they are so sick, etc., THEN you call for the elders of the church to come, anoint the person with oil and pray for them. If you read this verse with that intent, it makes complete sense. And it clears up any misunderstanding of needing other people to intercede for you and for you to keep bother others every time you have a headache. Amen! If you continue reading, James says, “let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” That does not mean the person is sick because he committed some serious sin. It could be – but it does not mean that. James is simply saying that the reason SOME people are sick is because they have been living a life of sin. Think about drug addicts, etc. They get all sorts of diseases because of the life they choose to live. When their body actually starts shutting down, they get desperate and may actually call a believer who has been witnessing to them before to come and pray for them. If that's you, then you go over and pray – in Faith with no doubting. And when the Lord raises them up, do you think that you will have their attention? Of course! That is the time to start witnessing to them and telling them the rest of the verse… “…if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray on for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” You then have an opportunity to lead them to the Lord in prayer. Amen! Isn't that what it is all about to begin with? Amen! “Well, brother Bob, what if they go back out and sin again?” First, that is between them and the Lord. Second, your only job is to be tool in the Lord's hand. Third, if you do your job and the Lord does His job – and the person still falls back into sin, at least they MAY have actually meant the prayer when they prayed it. And that is all it takes. We have all sinned and come short of the Glory of God – even after we were born again! I know I have…and I know you have, too. Amen! Look, this is already getting long for today, so I'll wrap up with this… The true Spiritual condition of any person is none of your business. Period. It is between them and the Lord. Your only job is to witness...
Scripture For Today: Isaiah 37:4 “It may be that the Lord your God will hear the words of the field commander, whom his master, the king of Assyria, has sent to ridicule the living God, and that he will rebuke him for the words the Lord your God has heard. Therefore pray for the remnant that still survives.”Refuse to Worry pt 6We have been studying about Refusing to Worry and how we need to “Cast all of our cares over on the Lord, for He cares for us,” from 1 Peter 5:7. Do you remember awhile back when we talked about Peter and Silas praying in the jail? This is from Acts 16:25-26. They had been put in the jail and locked up tight. Their feet were in stocks. Their backs were bleeding because of the beatings they had endured. But the Bible says, “…at midnight, Paul and Silas prayed…” But, that scripture does not end there, does it. NO! It continues and says, “…AND they sang praises unto God…!” I believe this is what Paul was referring to when he wrote, “…in EVERY THING, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God…” Paul wrote this letter to who? The church at Philippi, right? Let's look at the sequence of events… First, they are arrested, beaten and locked up, right? It would have been so easy for them to start wondering “Why did God allow this to happen to us? Why didn't He make a way of escape? Why? Why? Why?” That's what a lot of people would be doing, right? I'm including me in that, too! Amen! You probably would be too! Amen! You went to this town to share the Gospel and you end up getting arrested, beaten and locked in the prison! How did this happen? That would be a normal reaction, right? Not for Paul and Silas! Amen! Next, they PRAYED. Do you see that? Ok, then what happened? After they PRAYED – they began to SING PRAISES TO GOD! The scripture goes on to say, “…and the prisoners HEARD THEM…” If the prisoners heard them, you can rest assured God heard them, too! Amen! You know the rest of the story. God gave them a great deliverance and the jailer and his family were born again and baptized in the Spirit – and ALL THE PRISONERS, too! Praise God. There is no doubt in my mind, that the jailer at that prison became the pastor of the church in Philippi. None! That is what the Church in Philippi was! A jailhouse church! Praise God! Think about it! Nowhere else does it say Paula and Silas established other house churches there. No doubt there were some established. But I believe this was a true prison ministry that then extended out to the dwellers around that area. Think about it… Those whose loved ones were locked up were probably living pretty close to prison. It was not like it is today. The family was more or less responsible for feeding and taking care of the needs of the prisoners. Amen! What do you think the prisoners shared with their family members? What Paul and Silas did and who they were talking about while in there! JESUS! Amen! This impacted the entire city and area! This is why we are still talking about it today! Amen! Let's Pray! Scripture For Today:2 Kings 20:5“Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord.” The Peace of God pt 6We have been studying what the Apostle Paul had to say about the benefits of praying in the Spirit. Yesterday, we shared how the world calls promptings of the Holy Spirit your “conscious.” The world believes it is your inner man that knows right from wrong that is telling your mind what to do or not to do. We've discovered that it is the Holy Spirit speaking to your inner man, your spirit being, that is actually doing the prompting. The example I gave was of robbing a store. You know it's wrong and all the way to the store, on the inside of you, you hear “Don't do it. Don't do it.” But, if you follow through, suddenly your anxiety level is way up, because you are AFRAID now of getting caught. You're suspicious of everyone you see, etc. We learned that is because the Peace of God, which is what we've been discussing, has left. The Holy Spirit withdrew the Peace of God from you because He cannot participate in sin. He is not going to give you peace when you are willfully sinning. Amen! People out in the world, and yes, even other believers sometimes, will look at us in amazement because they cannot understand the peace we have, even in the midst of trouble and turmoil. They cannot understand why some of us enjoy more peace than others, even while going through tests and trials. They can't understand it because the Bible very clearly says, in Philippians 4:7, “Peace that passes all understanding…” I've heard some Christians talk about the tests and trials they are enduring – expressing worry and concern, etc. simply because they do not understand this. They do not know how to pray and obtain the Peace of God which passes all understanding. They do not understand that if they would move into that position of peace, it will keep their hearts and their minds – through Christ Jesus – allowing them to have the Peace of God, even in the midst of their trials. Amen! Let's Pray! Ezekiel 2:1-7; 2 Corinthians 12:2-10; Mark 6:1-6We apologize for the audio quality this week during our first outdoor service.
Isaiah 53:6We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. When our girls were younger we were all great fans of the Australian Christian musician, Colin Buchanan. A significant number of the Bible verses I know by heart are cemented in my memory because of his catchy tunes. So much so that I can't read or think about today's verse without mentally adding in the ‘Bah Bah Doo Bah Bah's at the end of every clause! (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, stick Colin Buchanan Isaiah 53:6 into your search engine of choice and have a listen)Sheep noises aside, this is a verse that deserves to be in the mind and heart of every Christian. If you were only ever going to learn half a dozen Bible verses in your whole life, I'd suggest that this ought to be one of them. In this one sentence we have the heart of the gospel. We have each chosen to wander away from the Lord. And what has he done in response? Sent a sheepdog to fetch us back to face our punishment? Turned us loose to fend for ourselves in a world of thorns and wolves? No. He laid all our wrongdoing on the Servant, Jesus, so that we don't have to live under the penalty it rightly deserves. How could this be anything other than wonderful news? Yet it is only good news for those who know themselves to be wandering sheep. Perhaps for city-dwellers, being considered a sheep doesn't seem so bad. If our ideas about sheep are drawn from children's picture books and model farms, we might not mind the comparison. Surely they are cute, clean, cuddly and harmless? But if you've had dealings with real live sheep, you may feel differently. My grandparents were farmers on the Welsh border. I remember when we visited, my brother and I having to join in when sheep were being moved from place to place. Stationed in a gateway or on the yard, we would shout and wave our arms around, attempting to head the sheep towards where they ought to go, and deflect them from where they wanted to go … which was generally anywhere other than the direction intended! Clean, cute and cuddly they were not! In fact, they were often muddy, infuriating and apparently very stupid. Why would you want to go and wedge yourself between a Land Rover and a gatepost, when we're offering you a huge field full of grass to enjoy? If that's your experience of sheep, this verse is not so flattering. We all, like mucky, stubborn sheep who have no idea what is good for us, have gone astray. So how wonderfully surprising that the Lord has provided a way for our punishment to fall not on us but on the Servant instead. However familiar these words are, let's thank him again for that today, and pray that in our gratitude we would increasingly learn to follow the good shepherd instead of turning away from him.
THE WEEK OF TRINITY I - THURSDAYLESSON: PHILIPPIANS 3:7-11Without faith it is impossible to please him [God]. Hebrews 11:6We should not form an estimate of Lazarus with his sores, poverty, and troubles only from external factors. For there are many people who suffer want and trouble without ever deriving any benefit from it. King Herod had to endure terrible sufferings, as we are reminded in the Acts of the Apostles (12:23). But his status before God did not improve thereby.Poverty and suffering in themselves do not make men acceptable to God. But the poverty and suffering of one who is already acceptable to God is something precious in God's sight, as the psalmist declares, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” (Psalm 116:15).We must look into the heart of Lazarus and search there for the treasure which made his sores so precious. This, without a doubt, was his faith and love, for without faith nothing can please God, as the writer of the Epistle to the Hebrews reminds us (11:6). The heart of Lazarus must have been so constituted that, even in the midst of his poverty and wretchedness, he looked to God for all good and found his only consolation in reliance on God.Moreover, he experienced such rich satisfaction and pleasure in God's goodness and grace that he would have readily endured more suffering had that been the will of his gracious God. It was a real, living faith which, through the realization of God's goodness, softened his heart so that nothing was too onerous or difficult for him to endure or do. Faith makes the heart experienced when it experiences God's grace.SL 11:1199 (12-14)AE 78:59PRAYER: Give us such faith in You and Your sure purposes, heavenly Father, that we do not measure our lives simply by what we have done or failed to do, but by our obedience to Your will, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.

Exodus 5 & 6We have all had one of those days that went from good to bad to downright ugly. When everything went sideways for Moses, how did God react? How will He react when that happens to us?
Scripture For Today: 2 Chronicles 7:15 “Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.” The Prayer of Petition pt 6We have been studying about the Prayer of Petition and how you need to get into the Word of God and do a study about scripture references to your specific situation. Yesterday, we left off with the absolute necessity that you need to make a decision. I shared the only time you should pray “if it by they will” in a prayer, is when you are seeking direction. You have a choice to make. You need to make a decision. You have evaluated your options and now it is either choice A or choice B. Perhaps a choice C as well. In the natural, you may have an inclination to choose the option that may benefit you the most. BUT – is that God's Will for you in the concept of His Plan for your life? That is where you need to present your prayer and THEN ASK, “If it be thy Will.” For example, let's say you are considering whether or not to get married. You may want to ask for God's direction in a manner of “Lord, is this the person you have planned for me?” Or for a career decision, “Lord, is the path you want me to take?” But the important part is – if you have arrived at the place where a DECISION NEEDS TO BE MADE – there is a good chance, you have been provided ALL of the information you need to MAKE A DECISION. DO YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE? In each and every instance, in all of the examples we have discussed today, you KNOW God's Word and what the Word says IS GOD's WILL. So if you KNOW THE WORD – you KNOW HIS WILL. IF YOU KNOW HIS WILL – You know what you must do. If you know what you must do – and it is based upon His will – you KNOW THE OUTCOME IS WHAT YOU WANT! If you know the outcome has already been planned according to His will – this is where you come to the place of knowing, “you will receive your petitions from your Father in Heaven!” PRAISE GOD! It is so important for believers to understand the POWER OF PRAYER. PRAYER WILL CHANGE THINGS! Notice I said THINGS. Prayer WILL NOT CHANGE PEOPLE! Do not get that confused. PRAYER CHANGES THINGS. NOT PEOPLE. ONLY THE LORD JESUS CHRIST has the ability to change people, and that is from the inside out! AMEN! Let's Pray! First Sunday of Advent Sunday, November 29, 2020 Year (cycle): B The Collect: Almighty God, give us grace to cast away the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light, now in the time of this mortal life in which your Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. Old Testament: Isaiah 64:1-9 1O that you would tear open the heavens and come down, so that the mountains would quake at your presence— 2as when fire kindles brushwood and the fire causes water to boil— to make your name known to your adversaries, so that the nations might tremble at your presence! 3When you did awesome deeds that we did not expect, you came down, the mountains quaked at your presence. 4From ages past no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who works for those who wait for him. 5You meet those who gladly do right, those who remember you in your ways. But you were angry, and we sinned; because you hid yourself we transgressed. 6We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy cloth. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. 7There is no one who calls on your name, or attempts to take hold of you; for you have hidden your face from us, and have delivered us into the hand of our iniquity. 8Yet, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand. 9Do not be exceedingly angry, O Lord, and do not remember iniquity forever. Now consider, we are all your people. Psalm: Psalm 80:1-7, 16-18 1 Hear, O Shepherd of Israel, leading Joseph like a flock; * shine forth, you that are enthroned upon the cherubim. 2 In the presence of Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, * stir up your strength and come to help us. 3 Restore us, O God of hosts; * show the light of your countenance, and we shall be saved. 4 O Lord God of hosts, * how long will you be angered despite the prayers of your people? 5 You have fed them with the bread of tears; * you have given them bowls of tears to drink. 6 You have made us the derision of our neighbors, * and our enemies laugh us to scorn. 7 Restore us, O God of hosts; * show the light of your countenance, and we shall be saved. 16 Let your hand be upon the man of your right hand, * the son of man you have made so strong for yourself. 17 And so will we never turn away from you; * give us life, that we may call upon your Name. 18 Restore us, O Lord God of hosts; * show the light of your countenance, and we shall be saved. Epistle: 1 Corinthians 1:3-9 3Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.4I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that has been given you in Christ Jesus, 5for in every way you have been enriched in him, in speech and knowledge of every kind— 6just as the testimony of Christ has been strengthened among you— 7so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ. 8He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you may be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9God is faithful; by him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Gospel: Mark 13:24-37 24“But in those days, after that suffering, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, 25and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26Then they will see ‘the Son of Man coming in clouds' with great power and glory. 27Then he will send out the angels, and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven. 28“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. 29So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 30Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. 31Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. 32“But about that day or hour no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33Beware, keep alert; for you do not know when the time will come. 34It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his slaves in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to be on the watch. 35Therefore, keep awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrow, or at dawn, 36or else he may find you asleep when he comes suddenly. 37And what I say to you I say to all: Keep awake.”
Isaiah 64 64Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at your presence2as when fire kindles brushwoodand the fire causes water to boilto make your name known to your adversaries, and that the nations might tremble at your presence!3When you did awesome things that we did not look for,you came down, the mountains quaked at your presence.4From of old no one has heardor perceived by the ear,no eye has seen a God besides you,who acts for those who wait for him.5You meet him who joyfully works righteousness, those who remember you in your ways.Behold, you were angry, and we sinned;in our sins we have been a long time, and shall we be saved?6We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.7There is no one who calls upon your name, who rouses himself to take hold of you;for you have hidden your face from us,and have made us melt inthe hand of our iniquities. 8But now, OLord, you are our Father;we are the clay, and you are our potter;we are all the work of your hand.9Be not so terribly angry, OLord, and remember not iniquity forever.Behold, please look, we are all your people.10Your holy cities have become a wilderness;Zion has become a wilderness,Jerusalem a desolation.11Our holy and beautifulhouse, where our fathers praised you,has been burned by fire, and all our pleasant places have become ruins.12Will you restrain yourself at these things, OLord? Will you keep silent, and afflict us so terribly?

Bethany Worship CenterCelina TXPastor Carl Tiner https://bethanyworshipcentercelinatx.business.site/ 1 Corinthians 2When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. [1]2For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.3I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling.4My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power,5so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.6We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.7No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.8None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.9However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" [2] --10but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.11For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.12We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.13This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. [3]14The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.15The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:16"For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" [4] But we have the mind of Christ.

Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. (This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair.) So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.” When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days...John 11:1-6We also live in the tension between:Verse 5: Now...Jesus lovedVerse 6: So...Jesus stayedIf we dwell on His love but can’t face the reality of our circumstances, we are living in spiritual denial. If we dwell on our painful circumstances and refuse to believe that God loves us, we are living in spiritual despair. The Lazarus story in itself is not the point of this story because: Lazarus ultimately died again. Jesus did not heal everyone. I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this? John 11:25-26Death is not the worst thing. Hopelessness in death is. Jesus is the great and resurrected I AM, and this should change two things about what it means to live between verse 5 and verse 6:How We Pray How We Stand Because Jesus is the great and resurrected I AM, we can live with “a hope within hopelessness”. How can you practice that hope today? Going Deeper Questions:Read John 11:5-6. Jesus waited two days before going to Bethany. What do you wish He had done instead? What could this say about you and about Jesus? How are you personally living between verse 5 and verse 6 right now? What’s the most difficult part about that for you? In the tension between knowing that Jesus loves you and wanting Him to show up differently in your life, which way do you naturally lean-- towards His love (as a potential form of denial) or towards His “absence” (as a potential form of despair)? Can you see how this tendency impacts your closest relationships? Throughout this passage, Jesus shows a profound affection and grief over his friend Lazarus. In fact, 3 times He is overcome with emotion (see John 11:3, 33-38). Do you believe that He loves you and weeps over you just as much? Because of Jesus’ resurrection, how can you literally practice a “hope within hopelessness” and invite God’s Spirit to help you pray and live differently? God is the great regenerator and reverser of hopeless moments. Can you think of a time in your life when things were hopeless until God showed up?
1 Peter 1:3-6We live in uncertain times under the weight of a global pandemic. Fear and uncertainty can crush our spirit but together we celebrate the living hope we have in Jesus.

Ephesians 1:3-6We have turned Christianity into a ME THING: I get to go to Heaven, I get to be with Jesus, I get to walk the streets of gold,I get to reunite with lost loved ones, etc. Our Faith is not about us and it is ALL about Him! He CHOSE us…in Him, before the foundation of the world, that we should be HOLY and BLAMELESS…before Him. You will note that all three Persons of the Godhead are involved in our salvation: As far as God the Father is concerned, salvation BEGAN when He chose you IN Christ BEFORE the Foundation of the world…but that alone did not save you; As far as God the Son is concerned, salvation was PURCHASED when He DIED on the cross and ROSE from the dead…but that alone did not save you; as far as God the Spirit is concerned, salvation is COMPLETED when you YEILD to His conviction and RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Lord & Savior. What BEGAN before the FOUNDATION of the WORLD was FULFILLED in time present, and WILL CONTINUE for all eternity and NOTHING….i repeat NOTHING…can separate you from the Love of God!
Have you ever had a day at work that left you dejected? Maybe you were turned down for a promotion, or maybe your idea didn’t get approved. Or maybe there was tension on the team that you were a part of. Maybe you made a mistake that cost the organization money. Whatever the situation, it left you down. For me personally, these things come in waves. I have seasons where it seems like I just keep getting lower and lower. As those seasons come, and they will, we can find ourself with A Dejected Heart.Sometimes we struggle in these seasons because:We think we are pioneers but our wagon wheels roll in the ruts of those who have gone before us.Ecclesiasties 1:9-10That means that somewhere, someone has walked the path you are walking.Look for people who have gone before you in real life2 Corinthians 1:3-72. Look for people who have gone before you in scripture Ezra We need to be reconciled to Christ ourselves (Ezra 9:3-5)In order to do that, we need to know God’s word. (Ezra 9:10-12)We must be willing to Obey what it says. (Ezra 7:10)We must be willing to direct others back into right living. (Ezra 10:10-11)Show grace in the process (Ezra 9:13)Ezra and NehemiahYou will find things in your life that need to be rebuiltWhen you find something that needs to be rebuilt, pray firstWhen you start rebuilding, expect oppositionYou can’t always rebuild on your own.God will not abandon youYour enemies will eventually lose confidenceThe Job isn’t going to be easy3. Make sure you are disconnecting when you canPut your phone away Focus on one thing at a time, and full invest in it. Look at people in the eyeWaste time Efficiency can add to dejection by making you think time spent resting and relaxing is a waste of time. God is faithful to complete his work. Philippians 1:6We aren’t finished yet, thus God has not yet completed what he is working on. This is a part of that process, and likely the hardship will move you closer to completion.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, whoi have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. For example, Christ is the very image (1504 /eikṓn, supreme expression) of the Godhead (see 2 Cor 4:4; Col 1:15).Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.Philippians 1:6We must recognize that the sin, struggles and temptations we face are COMMON TO MAN.We must recognize that if we are IN CHRIST, we are going through the process, and it's the SAME PROCESS. We partner with God in this process in our lives. We partner with God in this process in the lives of others. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.Ephesians 5:25-27 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.1 Corinthians 13:4-6How are you loving people in their process? Love allows for empathy. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.Hebrews 4:15-16We empathize with weakness. Colossians 3:16-4:6We should live our whole lives for God - seeking to glorify Him in all our relationships. Let us be ambassadors for God right here. Right now.
You are looking for the perfect gift. And you do it because up you want to see a smile on your wife or husband or children's faces on Christmas because you love them. The same is true of God. He loves us and desired to give us the perfect gift. But what did we need? Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. We needed someone to come help us find our way to God. Isaiah 59:12-16 12 For our offenses are many in your sight, and our sins testify against us. Our offenses are ever with us, and we acknowledge our iniquities: 13 rebellion and treachery against the Lord, turning our backs on our God, fomenting oppression and revolt, uttering lies our hearts have conceived. 14 So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter. 15 Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey. The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice. 16 He saw that there was no one, he was appalled that there was no one to intervene; so his own arm worked salvation for him, and his own righteousness sustained him. V 12 - our sins are many, testify against us, Are ever with us, We acknowledge our iniquities. V 13 - our sin is against God. Ultimately all sin is rebellion, treachery, and forsaking God. David wrote in Psalm 51:4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge. Our problem was not just that we got lost along the way and need someone to point us in the right direction. We need someone to make right what we did against our Heavenly Father. We betrayed Him. V 16 - God looked, but no one could be found. Isaiah 63:5 I looked, but there was no one to help, I was appalled that no one gave support; so my own arm worked salvation for me, and my own wrath sustained me. Isaiah 51:18 Jerusalem's sons Of all the sons she bore there was none to guide her; of all the sons she reared there was none to take her by the hand. Ezekiel 22:30 “I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. "Someone who would stand before me in the gap" - God is looking for someone who can intercede. The idea is from ancient times when a wall would be built around a city to fortify it. Where there were breaks in the walls, they would put a defender who would stand in the gap of the wall, defending the people behind him. In the Old Testament, this was the role of a prophet - to stand as an intercessor between God and man. Psalm 106:23 So he said he would destroy them—had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him to keep his wrath from destroying them. God was looking for someone who could stand in the gap for us. There was no one who could deal with man's sin. No one could intercede on behalf of men to God. No one. V 16 - so his own arm worked salvation for him, and his own righteousness sustained him. So God would do it Himself. He would be the one who would bear the burden of men's sins. It would be by His strength. He Himself would provide an intercessor, someone who would stand in the gap for mankind and stand before God on their behalf. But men would have to wait. The perfect gift to meet men's needs would come in God's perfect timing. Isaiah 53:4-6 4Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, Smitten by him, and afflicted. 5But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Jesus came to bear your sins. Give them over to him. He fully and completely takes them away and even the guilt of sin. He is the perfect gift-the prefect answer to our problem. He is exactly what we needed to have be washed from our sin. Isaiah 53:12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. You need someone to stand in the gap for you. Or you may need him to stand in the gap for you in a different way, Do you need him to be your Strength in a time of weakness? Do you need him to be your shelter in a time that the enemy is attacking? He truly is the perfect gift. He will stand in the gap on your behalf. He will protect you and defend you.
